Use of macro's in Integrated Planning

Dear all,
Considerations regarding planning in Excel or Web are taken into account. Customer likes to connect existing Excel-sheets to Planning Excel-sheet. Macros are available for this in BPS-Excel (transfer data to SEM-BPS1 sheet).
Some questions regarding this:
1. Are these macros also available in IP? And if not, how to connect existing Excel-sheets to sheet used for Planning (i.e. BW-workbook)?
2. Using BPS and IP in Web: is it possible to make connection to Excel-sheets in Web? I.e. Are the macros in Web Excel available or is there another possibility?
3. There are How to documents available for Upload of flatfiles in BPS. Are these also valid for IP?

It seems that the macro in Web based Excel-sheets can no longer use Macros.

Hi,
just as a follow up - the FOX Extension Formula capability of the IP in BW is as others have mentioned - to help develop formulas to execute calculations during planning, forecasting, budgeting, etc. - it allows consultants, like myself, to develop these formulas without the help of an ABAP consultant - but creates ABAP programs behind the scenes.
You can also use these ABAP programs separate from the IP component - once you create a FOX formula you can retrieve the ABAP program and then use it for other activities.
With the FOX you can use variables in a formula, call another ABAP program, generate loops of data both master and transactional, allows IF, THEN statements, and a number of other activiities. There is a limit to the usefulness of the FOX formula process - you may find if the FOX formula is too complex or long that your process will run slowly during the calculations. If this is occurring you will need to debug your ABAP program to see if you can increaase the performance.

Input Ready Query using Analysis grid in WAD - Integrated Planning

While running the input ready query in analyzer, I am able to key in values.
In WAD, I get the following message and there is no new row.
"No new row or column added because not all characteristics have a key cell"

New lines in web applications modeled by WAD only work with SP09 and note 984601.

Possible to call a transaction from a planning book using a macro button?

Hi All,
Is it somehow possible to call a transaction using a macro button in the planning book? Also, the current selection should be passed as input parameters to the transaction.
In my example, I am trying to run the transaction /SAPAPO/MC90 - Release to Supply Network Planning from the Demand Planning Planning Book/Data View. This way if planners need to change forecasts mid month for specific selections, they can easily transfer to SNP without having to go out of interactive planning.

Hello Maria,
It's possible to call a transaction from a planning book using a macro button.
What you can do is ..... Create a function module and inside it use the command "Call Transaction Tcode" (ABAPer can do this) to call ur specific transaction. And this module can in turn be called from your macro. Please find the below link which explanis how to call a function module from a macro. Do let me know if you need more information on this.

View temporary data in Web layout during file upload in Integrated Planning

Hi Experts,
When using File Upload funcationality, in Integrated Planning,
I have a requirment, How user can view the data in the web layout?
After data display user can make changes in the data and on click of Save the updated data is saved in cube.
If any one has come across this requirment can you please help me out how things can be carried out?
If "how to implement" document is present can you please provide me the link.

I assume, you are using WAD for this..
Please do the following: (Please note the the cube has to be in Plan mode while executing WAD)
1. Create a input enable query (through query designer) on th eaggregate level (the one you are using for IP). You might need to create filers for the aggregate level. these filters can also be used in the query.
2. In the WAD, pull this query.
3. Create a button in WAD and check for the planning functionalities readily available that you can use in WAD. One of the planning functionality is SAVE Data. This will save any data which is entered by the user.
4. In the same button integrate a Refresh Data command after the SAVE data. This will automatically refresh the query and pull the updated/changed data from the cube.
This should work. Please write back in case of any clarification.

Yes you can use the STS for BI IP also and you need to configure the Planning level and sub plan area and follow the steps to set up STS.
STS still has BPS flavour and can be used in IP.

Hi,
I would like to see the code behind the context menu clicks in Integrated Planning eg. Transfer values / Save values. Where can I see these? I've tried recording a macro while clicking these but it seems to ignore them.
Also, is it possible to set the parameters of a button in VBA for planning instead of having to set them manually each time ?

Hi,
Filter is indeed used in IP similar to how planning package was used in BPS. There really is no difference 'conceptually'.
What you have seen is the different options IP offers compared to BPS regarding planning function execution. You can execute planning function directly or using a planning sequence in an application (although in planning modeler, its only a planning sequence that can be executed, for eg., for testing purpose).
If you just execute a planning function without specifying any restriction, it will operate on the entire set of planning data. Whether its a planning sequence or planning function, the data it operates on can be restricted by binding the various characteristics (or variables) using various DPs in the application. What kind of dynamic selection are you looking at?

Integrated Planning in COPA using KEPM and loading of quantity to SOP

We are in process of testing integrated planning in COPA using KEPM and loading of quantity to SOP (MC87) or Transfer Qty to SOP - KE1E. I created a planning level with basic information to plan quantity on product with Period/Year, Version, Plant, Product, Record Type (F), Unit Sales Qty.
Also created Planning Package & Planning Parameter with Planning layout and entered quantity for a material which creates a profitability segment with quantity update. The problem occurs when transferring to SOP the sales quantity either using MC87 or KE1E, it goes into a loop and times out. We tried using different parameters, but ended up with same result.
Are we missing some Config/steps here, any thoughts will help.

You need to transfer COPA plan to inactive version of SOP through KE1E. Thereafter, in PP, the same is transfered to active version through MC78. Thereafter it is transferred to Demand Management through MC74.
Please check with your PP consultant.

Can you please let me know how to add a print button in the web template which has a input query and which is used for integrated planning. The user want to print the report.I haven't worked in web template and thought of asking you if there is any button or standard sap functionality I can use for printing the report . What you are experiencing is not clear for me, but in general you have to install the BI ABAP + BI java to have planning modeler working. Ensure that BI Diagnostics (note 937697) and also ensure that you have setup your system according notes
919850 and 947376.

Retraction to R/3 from BI 7.0 using MAP with Integrated Planning.

If i plan on Multiprovider by taking plan and actual data no request id will be available.

Hi, I created an manual DTP upload to my planning infocube and it works fine. The transformation rules convert 0CALMONTH into the relevant Calendar and Fiscal characteristics. So all of my Time Characteristics are fine, both Calendar and Fiscal.
However, When using the "How to load a file into BI-Integrated Planning and use WAD 7.0" solution, only the Calendar Characteristics are populated and not the Fiscal. The upload application somehow knows to populate the 0CALMONTH2, 0CALQUART1, 0CALQUARTER, and 0CALYEAR.
How can I get the upload to populate my Fiscal Period Characteristics?
Would it be best to modify the "Upload Application, or can I write a planning function to update the fiscal characteristics, or some other way?

My planning data is being uploaded via the SDN Planning File Upload Solution. What I did was end up modifiying the upload class ZCL_RSPLF_FILE_UPLOAD Method EXECUTE.
I added the following code if anyone is interested.

Questions about Integrated Planning and BPS

I'm testing the functions of BW7.0. And at the point of comparing the new BI Integrated Planning from the BPS, I'm stuck with 3 problems. Can anybody give me some solution?
i. When using the input-ready layout of the BW-BPS 3.5, I was able to create a new record and load it up to the cube. Is it possible to make the same operation like this using the BI Integrated Planning of BW7.0?
ii. When using the BW-BPS 3.5, showing the character hierarchy on the Manual planning layout can be chosen. And I'd like to show the BPS Characteristic Hierarchies in BI Integrated Planning of BW7.0 like it is in the BW-BPS 3.5. Is it possible to show the hierarchy in similar type somehow? If not,can't I show the sum of it anyhow? And if possible,can you also show the sum of the each hierarchy and change the data?
iii. When showing the Characteristic combination data, can you choose how to show them from the transaction data or from all the combination like it was possible in the BW-BPS 3.5?

About getting new lines in the table web item,as you have told me, I have set the parameter NEW_LINES_COUNT as 20 in the table web item. But when I execute it,no lines shows up. Is this a program error or am I setting the parameter in a wrong place?
And this getting new lines feature, is it also possible when using a workbook?

Problems with HowTo "Creation of BI Master Data in Integrated Planning...)

one of our customers need a planning application in which he can create master data for different attributes, insert some key figures for this attributes and changes already planned key figured.
For the last two point I've already found a working solution, the first point (creating of masterdata in web template) is still a problem. Does anyone of you know this guide and was able to build a working solution?
I have different questions, maybe you could help me:

First, please take a look at the first document:

In chapter 3 you see the prerequisites (note 1101726 and notes 1384495, 1387004 and 136772). By this, you change the system behaviour, not to check if the new inserted master data is valid (it can't be valid, because the entries are new!)
And after this please implement the solution from the how to.

Even if my first post is a bit old, my customer still uses this solution, at the moment we are on 7.3 sp06, so it is working in newer releases too.

Configuration Requirement for Integrated Planning in BI 7.0 with JAVA Addin

We have BI 7.0 with Java Add-in installation newly migrated to Unicode.
BW consultants (I am BASIS Consultant) want to use "Integrated Planning". I already checked IMG link of it & JCO destinations mentioned there are not in J2EE engine.   Even I am not able to create b'cos current setup is not on SLD.
I would really appreciate your help on below queries :
1) Can I configure Integrated Planning without using SLD ?
2) Do I need to install BI JAVA to running Integrated Planning ?
3) Do I need to install EP & EP Core ?
I already checked most of SDN thread but sorry couldn't able to get answer to above questions.   I have checked SAP Notes : 901022, 919850, 917950.
