Use of 'marquee' on time line.

I have just upgraded from Elements 7 to Elements 13 - I frequently edit audio on the timeline, draw a marquee around the edit and 'Export' as a wav file for later use.  I now find in E13 that the 'Export' command (under 'File') is 'unlit' so cannot be used.
I have tried many keyboard combinations to achieve this with no success - do I have a 'bug' or is there a way round this, I really need this facility!.

I believe that you are referring to the Premiere Elements 7 feature
I have found no way to move that button into Premiere Elements 13. At one point I got the bright idea of using the Premiere Elements 7 keyboard shortcut X for this icon
in 13 in the hopes of gaining its action in the mouse cursor even if there was no actual Time Stretch Tool button there. Did not work.
You can always click on the right edge of the clip and drag it in, noting "time in" with the pop up as you drag the edge in with the mouse cursor.
Did any of that work for you?

  • How do I acces a var from the main time line in to a movieclip?

    I'm making a quiz-type animation, since I'm new with ActionScript I had developed my own way to make this work.
    I want to add like a meter that shows one out three position depending on the answer given, I had made this animation as a movieclip but now I need it to react according to the answer, so it changes on every question to do that I need to access the variables I'm using in the main time line, how can I access the the main time line variables from the movie clip?
    The movie clip (meter) is basically the background and the questions will change and advance on top of that movie clip so it'll change with each answer until you get the final result.
    Since I cant attached my FLA file here I could email my it to whom may want to help me, THANK YOU!!!

    I kinda of make it work using what you suggested: var meterVar = MovieClip(this.root).userAnswer;, but I have different problems now I'm getting this error: TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
         at divameter2_fla::MovieClip_1/frame1() and the meter movieclip only change from the original position to the second and stays there even if the first answer supose to sent it to the third or four position. here is the code for the main and movie clip:
    Main:
    The following code I have it in separate frames, I know is probbably not the best way to do it but I'm new with AS.
    Frame 1:
    stop();
    messageBox.text = "";
    var userAnswer:int;
    var rbg:Object = rbA.group;
    var finalScore:int;
    btnCheck.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, nextBtn);
    function nextBtn(evt:MouseEvent):void {
                 userAnswer = int(rbg.selectedData);
                 if(userAnswer == 0) {messageBox.text = "Please select an option";
                 }else{
                     finalScore = userAnswer;
                     gotoAndPlay(2);
    Frame 2:
    stop();
    messageBox.text = "";
    var rbbg:Object = rbbA.group;
    btnCheckTwo.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, nextBtnTwo);
    function nextBtnTwo (evt:MouseEvent):void {
                 userAnswer = int(rbbg.selectedData);
                 if(userAnswer == 0) {messageBox.text = "Please select an option";
                 }else{
                     finalScore = finalScore + userAnswer;
                     gotoAndPlay(3);
    Frame 3:
    stop();
    messageBox.text = "";
    var rbcg:Object = rbcA.group;
    btnCheckThree.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, nextBtnThree);
    function nextBtnThree (evt:MouseEvent):void {
                 userAnswer = int(rbcg.selectedData);
                 if(userAnswer == 0) {messageBox.text = "Please select an option";
                 }else{
                     finalScore = finalScore + userAnswer;
                     gotoAndPlay(4);
    Frame 4:
    stop();
    messageBox.text = "";
    var rbdg:Object = rbdA.group;
    btnCheckFour.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, nextBtnFour);
    function nextBtnFour (evt:MouseEvent):void {
                 userAnswer = int(rbdg.selectedData);
                 if(userAnswer == 0) {messageBox.text = "Please select an option";
                 }else{
                     finalScore = finalScore + userAnswer;
                     gotoAndPlay(5);
    Frame 5:
    stop();
    messageBox.text = "";
    var rbeg:Object = rbeA.group;
    btnCheckFinish.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, finishBtn);
    function finishBtn (evt:MouseEvent):void {
                 userAnswer = int(rbdg.selectedData);
                 if(userAnswer == 0) {messageBox.text = "Please select an option";
                 }else{
                     finalScore = finalScore + userAnswer;
                     if (finalScore > 4) gotoAndPlay(6);
                     if (finalScore > 9) gotoAndPlay(7);
                     if (finalScore > 13) gotoAndPlay(8);
    The las theree frames are the 3 different results and the code they have is only a stop();
    The following is the movieclip code:
    stop();
    var meterVar = MovieClip(this.root).userAnswer;
    var btnCheck = MovieClip(this.root).btnCheck;
    var btnCheckTwo = MovieClip(this.root).btnCheckTwo;
    var btnCheckThree = MovieClip(this.root).btnCheckThree;
    var btnCheckFour = MovieClip(this.root).btnCheckFour;
    btnCheck.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, nextBtn);
         function nextBtn (evt:MouseEvent):void {
                 if (meterVar == 1) {gotoAndPlay(2);
                     if (meterVar == 2) gotoAndPlay(3);
                     if (meterVar == 3) gotoAndPlay(4);
                 }else{ gotoAndPlay (1);
    btnCheckTwo.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, nextBtnTwo);
         function nextBtnTwo (evt:MouseEvent):void {
                 if (meterVar == 1) {gotoAndPlay(2);
                     if (meterVar == 2) gotoAndPlay(3);
                     if (meterVar == 3) gotoAndPlay(4);
                 }else{ gotoAndPlay (1);
    btnCheckThree.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, nextBtnThree);
         function nextBtnThree (evt:MouseEvent):void {
                 if (meterVar == 1) {gotoAndPlay(2);
                     if (meterVar == 2) gotoAndPlay(3);
                     if (meterVar == 3) gotoAndPlay(4);
                 }else{ gotoAndPlay (1);
    btnCheckFour.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, nextBtnFour);
         function nextBtnFour (evt:MouseEvent):void {
                 if (meterVar == 1) {gotoAndPlay(2);
                     if (meterVar == 2) gotoAndPlay(3);

  • Overlays on the clips in the time line

    Hello
    I am not sure if there is an answer to my questions but maybe there is a trick i have not discovered as yet. I am having some serious issues with the overlays on the clips in the time line. With the overlays I mean the name of the clip, especially on the audio clips. It is so hard to work good with the audio clip in the time line especially when I want to put in a fade in the beginning or need to move the audio level up or down every time the name of the clip is in the way and i can not see the the waveform. I know I just could put the clip in the viewer and do it from there but in my opinion the viewer is very cumbersome to work with as you do not see the whole clip especially if work zoomed in or have a segmented clip. I find it much easier in the timeline except for the overlays there.
    I have written to apple but I guess they do not see a need it would be nice to have the ability to turn it off in preferences

    thanks
    is that new or was that always there. Not to sure if I have tried that in the past
    anyway it helped and will makes things much faster
    one other question maybe you have an answer to that too. it seems both Audio tracks are independ when putting on keyframes is there a way when using keyframes in the time line that it affect both channels of audio for example a1 an a2
    once again thanks for your help

  • Multiple use of the same video time line for different audio tracks

    I have a 90 minute video timeline
    I will be putting different audio tracks in multiple languages.
    But as i was just editing i wondered if i could use only a segment (30 minutes ) of the timeline
    along with a 30 minute audio.
    Example:
    So the first thing on the menu will be the whole 90 minute video
    with a 90 minute music track
    Second thing might be the 90 minute video with a 90 minute commentary
    Third thing might be the first 30 minutes of video with a different commentary
    Forth thing on the menu might be the first 30 minutes of video and 30 minutes of
    a different language
    Etc.
    I realize i will need to make space (mb)  for all the audio.....but if i could use the same video or pieces of it
    that would be fantastic.
    If i can do this i am presuming i should use playlists and chapter playlists to get it done?
    I have never done this before and would love some feedback on an over view or tips
    that might save me some guess work
    Thanks for any help :-)

    Hey Stan!
    Thanks for your help...i think i am really getting this. And have learned a lot.
    I had to go back to my computer programming and flowcharting skills to figure out the flow :-)
    And i still have 153mb to spare when i build it.
    I ended up lining up all the different videos and audios exactly for each time line except for 1 timeline.
    Question: I know if the audio is shorter it will be ok.... but if the audio is longer than the video on a timeline ( and its the audio i assigned it by specify link )
    Will the DVD keep playing until the audio is done or end when the video is done playing?
    2nd Question: I am previewing the playlists with the "Preview from Here" feature
    I specify the link and chapter within that timeline ( it is the only timeline with more than one chaper....the one with the longer audio than video from the question above )
    For most of the audios i only need video chapter 1.....the preview here plays it ok but if i hit the skip to next (in the preview button on theright of the play button)...it goes to the next chapter #2... instead of the next timeline chapter 1 like it is programed to do from the playlist.
    I am wondering if this is just fluke in the preview feature...or will it do that on the actual DVD as well?
    Lastly because i am using different timelines. I am wondering if there are delays between playlists? for example...i have a long audio that continues between three timelines...i have spliced it pretty fine so it picks up perfectly on the next timeline...but i am wondering if the DVD when playing in realtime will have a little black space inbetween timelines.
    Thanks again for your help and time :-)
    Mark
    Hiya Mark.
    DVD-Video is video dominant, with the audio always following the visuals so if the audio ends berfore the video it will not (okay, should not) be a problem.
    However, the other way around could go either way - if the actual video timeline has ended the audio may well truncate so I would personally add videoblack at the very least.
    I am also not at all sure how you are going to work a single contiguous audio file across 3 separate playlists. This sounds flawed in concept to me (have I misunderstood your meaning?). In DVD-Video the format is graphically/visually dominant - the audio must always be tied to a visual asset be it a menu or a timeline - so there is no way to have one piece of audio playing across 3 timelines and having it play back glitch free whilst the timeline changes. You will not get a black space - it will simply stop. So unless I have misunderstood you in some way.........
    As Stan says, preview is flaky - the only way to know for sure is to multiplex & burn.

    Depending on which soundcard you have there, but if your card is capable for
    ASIO -> activate I/O drivers on Sonar/Options/Audio/Drivers -tab (mic/line sources should be listed there --> activate) and select the mic or/and Line sources on tracks "I" - dialog
    WDM/KS -> use the Surround Mixer or windows recording controls for recording source selection (mic should be listed there)
    MME32 - > same w/ WDM/KS
    If you use Asio4All --> same w/ WDM/KS & MME32
    No mic and line source simultaenously w/ WDM/KS and MME32.
    You perhaps be able to do this w/ kX drivers.

    ADDED:
    You can also install modded version of Audigy 2 drivers/software but I have never done this w/ Li've! 5. so I can't be sure if you get ASIO support for your card.

  • Can anyone help. I need to reuse my SDHC cards and transfer footage from an ongoing profect to a hard drive. Can i edit from the Hard drive or am I better transferring info striaight from camera to time line

    Hi I am using a JVC GY-HM100 camera which is meant to work well with final cut pro.  I have an ongoing project but need to save money and resuse the SDHC cards that are currently full of footage.
    Would I be better off transferring the footage straight to the time line (as rumour has it you can do this with this camera) or store the footage on a hard drive and edit it later without risk of losing the footage.
    Many thanks
    Lindabob

    Thanks Linda,
    Here's some more info for you:
    This is my pet checklist for questions regarding FCP X performance - you may have already addressed some of the items but it's worth checking.
    Check the spec of your Mac against the system requirements:
    http://www.apple.com/finalcutpro/specs/
    Check the spec of your graphics card. If it's listed here, it's not suitable:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4664
    Make sure you're using the latest version of the application - FCP X 10.0.3 runs very well on my 2009 MacPro 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon with 16 GB RAM and ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024 MB. I run it with Lion 10.7.3.
    Check that you have at least 20% free space on your system drive.
    If you have not already done so, move your Projects and Events to a fast (Firewire 800 or faster) external HD. Make sure the drive's formatted OS Extended (journalling's not required for video). You should always keep at least 20% free space on the Hard Drives that your Media, Projects and Events are on.
    If you are getting crashes, there is some conflict on the OS. Create a new (admin) user account on your system. Do NOT import any of the settings etc from the old account - simply use FCP X from there - if it runs a lot better, there's a conflict and a clean install would be recommended - but remember, if you reinstall the system, and then use Migration Assistant (or anything else) to import all your old settings etc etc, you may well be importing the cause of the conflict in the first place.
    Keep projects to 20 mins or less (about half that for Multicam). If you have a long project, work on short sections, make them into Compound Clips and then paste these into a final project for export.
    If you ever experience dropped frames, I strongly recommend you use ProRes 422 Proxy - it edits and plays back like silk because the files are small but lightly compressed (not much packing and unpacking to do) - but remember to select 'Original or Optimised Media' (FCP X Preferences > Playback) just before you export your movie, otherwise it will be exported at low resolution.
    If you have plenty of processor power, for the ultimate editing experience, create Optimised Media - most camera native files are highly compressed and need a great deal of processor power to play back - particularly if you add titles, filters or effects. ProRes 422 takes up much more hard drive space but is very lightly compressed. It edits and plays back superbly.
    Hide Audio Waveforms at all times when you don't need them (both in Browser and Storyline / Timeline). They take up a lot of processor power. (Use the switch icon at the bottom-right of your timeline to select a format without waveforms if you don't need them at the moment, then switch back when you do).
    Create folders in the Project and Events libraries and put any projects you are not working on currently, in those folders. This will help a lot. There's a great application for this, called Event Manager X - for the tiny cost it's an invaluable application.
    http://assistedediting.intelligentassistance.com/EventManagerX/
    Unless you cannot edit and playback without it, turn off Background Rendering in Preferences (under Playback) - this will help general performance and you can always render when you need to by selecting the clip (or clips) and pressing Ctrl+R.
    The biggest single improvement I saw in performance was when I upgraded the RAM from 8 GB to 16.

  • How to keep date time line in  collected alert message in linux platform

    Hi Friends,
    In linux server for 11g oracle. how do I keep date time line for each error message?
    example as
    cat alert_test.log | grep 'ORA'
    grep 'ORA' alert_test.log
    I like output as
    Mon Aug 20 01:54:29 2012
    ORA-01560 caused by SQL...........
    I know we can use diag... But I want to some linux command for my debug.
    Thanks
    newdba

    Another option is to make your alert log accessible as an external table.
    Demo here:
    http://www.morganslibrary.org/reference/externaltab.html
    Find "alert log" on the page. Add a numeric column to the table and create a sequence and you can put in a surrogate row number that will allow you to pull sections using LEAD and LAG as you please.

  • Solution for: no audio in time line - conforming issues - unspecified error occurred

    these are all the same issue and i have the solution for it.
    Adobe has once again let down the non professional user but ignoring this bug. They have also deleted alot of my other posts on the adobe forums.. perhaps so you cannot receive help from me?? who freakin knows..
    b Problem:
    you import your footage and there is no audio in the time line. you see the audio clip there but no information in it. some people say its because of MPEG format but MPEG files works fine in Windows Movie Maker, Ulead, Pinnacle, Sony Vegas.. etc...
    let it be known that its an Adobe Premiere issue.
    b Solution:
    b step 1:
    close adobe premiere
    b step 2:
    open My Computer and go to tools at the top. From the drop down menu go to folder options. In folder options click the view tab. In the advanced settings section where it says 'Hidden files and folders' make sure 'show hidden files and folders' is selected.
    b step 3:
    open My computer and go to c:\ drive > Documents and settings. Now click into your user name (NOT 'All users') in my case its 'proGamer'. Now click into 'Application Data' > 'Adobe' > 'common' > 'Media Cache Files'.
    b step 4:
    in this folder find the files you were just trying to import by searching the name. in my case its file: 20081217030338. you will now see 3 different file types with the same file name you were importing: CFA, PEK, MPGINDEX. delete them all!
    b step 5:
    go back and open adobe premiere, open up your project again and it will automatically recreate those files you just deleted. hopefully correctly.
    b NOTE:
    If this hasn't worked then open your adobe premiere project, clear all trace of the files with no audio and start again from step 1. then after step 5 just import the files back into your project.
    This has proved to work with every file i've imported that had the audio not conformed.
    b your second option:
    simply play your clip in WMV or VLC or what ever player you use and record the audio in real time in stereo by using some music editing like cubase or logic audio. you can also use something more friendly like 'recordpad' found here: http://www.nch.com.au/recordpad/screenshots.html now you can buy it from these guys or get it how ever else you like
    lemme know how u go

    dmd,
    I've read plenty of places that they know about the bug and are going to fix it. Will from Adobe said so in a few older posts. It's also listed as an issue in the 4.0.1 readme.
    I agree that this is the most screwed up Adobe release ever but I doubt they're deleting your posts to hide it. Never know though.....
    "Adobe has once again let down the non professional user but ignoring this bug" I actually wish Adobe would forget the consumers and make Premiere Pro more friendly to professionals. Dozens of multimillion dollar movies have been edited with Avid and Final Cut over the past few years. Adobe doesn't put forth any effort make Premiere a pro application. Because they pander to the consumers and prosumers they end up messing up the product for everybody.
    Premiere Elements is for consumers, Premiere Pro should be for the 'Pros'

  • How do I get the full size of my pics or video into the time line?

    Greetings,
    I've nener been part of a forum before and an wondering if this will actually be taken seriously. I'm new to video editing and know little about the program I am using (Adobe Premiere Pro CC). Would someone please advise me as to how I can add the full size video or pics to the time line. It appears whenever I add something from my Gopro 3 HD camera I only get a partial of the video / pic.

  • Can only export 18 minutes of 1 hour time line

    Hello
    I have a completely rendered, for Neat noise reduction, time line that is just over 1 hour long by about a minute.  This was an award ceremony for a client shot on Sony PMW320 camcorder with SxS card at 1080i 29.97 and set up the same in Premiere on the time line.  Lights illuminating the stage at request of the CEO had been taken down much lower than they should have been because they were bothering him at the lecturn where he was speaking in pre-show checks.  Consequently I had to use 12db gain which left me with a lot of noise.  My plan was to use Neat noise reduction and take care of all the render times and mixing of two mono audio tracks in Premiere before giving him a Quicktime file to use in his FCP system and then he would be able to insert the reaction and floor shots from a 2nd handheld B camera which was mobile on the floor.  I did not know if he had a good noise reduction software program himself and just wanted to save him all the labor.
    As I am new to Premiere my first project for this for the time line did not have the audio set up correctly, but the clips were imported into the Media Browser and were able to be worked with OK for a short while before I realized I would nead to redo it for the audio.  From my camera it was a continuous 1 hour take but the SxS files copied straight from my camcorder first to my 2 3TB internal drives set up for RAID 0 on my new Mac Pro from OWC built with their MPG program, were broken into 3.56GB clips of 12 min 32 second lengths.     6 core 3.46ghz CPU and Quadro 4000 GPU  48gb memory for the system.
    On the second and new project with the correct audio settings, I experimented with copying those same files from the camcorder to a different 1TB internal drive.  I must have done that differently, maybe by hi lighting the separate clips together and dragging them into the drive, because when I imported them into the Media Browser this time they came in as 1 continuous file.  And that is what is on the noise processed and audio mixed time line.....one continuous sequence with no cuts or breaks in it.
    Twice now I have tried to export the completely rendered "continuous" sequence to a 64gb flash drive with the USB 2.0 connector on the Mac.  Each time the process has taken about 7 and 1/2 hours and each time it has stopped at 18 minutes and 11 seconds in.  4.29GB copied for both tries.  Does anyone see something here that explains why the export would stop short each time in the same place?  No error messages, and no problem with RAM as I have the 48gb.   When setting it up and the export begins it shows in the window the full 1 hour length with the start and end points it will take it from.
    Thanks much
    Ron

    Sorry for the delay in getting back.  I had woken around 3:30AM and got up to check the status of the 2nd export attempt, and when I found the same situation as the first attempt, stayed up to post here and see what reponses hopefully might be here when I got up in the morning.
    Ann, there are no gaps on the time line as it is one continuous file, due I guess in how I saved it to the other disc.  Just uploaded the one really good Neat profile I got on the individual file segments in the browser from the RAID drive that I had placed on the time line with the first sequence.  The first three of those left a bit more noise in some spots, but a lot of noise still crawling on the right cheek of the CEO in the low light he saddled us with.  Luckily the 4 try Neat really nailed it.
    BUT....after typing the above I just re-inserted the Lexar flash drive and brought up its info and yep it does say, "MS-DOS (FAT 32)"    Uggghhhh!  Bought it a week and a half ago from Office Depot in town.  Wasn't cheap.... $178 plus tax.  Still have my receipt, hopefully they will refund.  This type of scenario is exactly why I bought that large a size ....64gb.  To be able to have enough space to leave shooting job with a client if necessary and they could mail it back to me when the job was offloaded.
    Is there any kind of flash drive that size then, that doesn't have the file size restriction I can pick up from on line or like a Frys please?  I think the incredibly slow export was due to the 2.0 USB and all the Neat noise reducing information, plus HD codec I guess.  7 1/2 hour export and only 18 minutes out of the hour covered..  Are there any other convenient options to leave with a client, with maybe SATA connection, which would be safe to ship back to me in these situations that could take the jostling from shipping?
    Thanks very much
    Ron

  • How to add a custom multimedia playback control to add a time line of what is being played?

    How to add a custom skin in multimedia playback control to add a time line of what is being played?  As it is being played...
    I need a time line so any part of the what is being played can be found by time, ie at 1 minute and 30 seconds in and continues for 45 seconds out of a 50 minute audo.

    If you're talking about a playback controller within the rich media annotation (RMA) then you need to write your own widget in Flash or Flex, and then place the video and widget files using the multimedia "Add Flash" tool in Acrobat instead of the "Add Video" tool. Aside from a bunch of proprietary code to handle events, commenting and the API (which you can live without for basic play-pause-scrub applications), video RMAs are just an embedded SWF file containing an FLVPlayback component. The skin and the video file itself are added to the RMA as resource entries. You can build your own version and have it display whatever controls you want, provided you know how to write ActionScript!
    If you're talking about a controller that's external to the RMA (e.g. a series of links or buttons elsewhere on the page) then in the past you would use FLV video files and the 'cue points' feature that's built into Acrobat - however Adobe removed the ability to create FLV files in the latest version of CC, so unless you have CS6 or earlier it's a non-starter. Instead you can manually set playback start points using the special "multimedia operations" link action in your PDF - though stopping playback at a defined point is very difficult without FLV cues. For that you're back to writing your own widget.

  • Text file: reading char one at a time line by line

    I need to read an external .txt file, one character at a time, line by line, and compare each character in order to do various things. The problem is that when I use the Buffered Reader I have only readLine() method and others to work with, but none that actually read a character at a time, and line by line. The program has to read a character, then move to the next one and read it, and so on. Then move to the next line, and read the first character, and so on. I am working with chars not Strings. Could you please help me with this problem?

    InputStreamReader can read a single char.
    InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(InputStream in);
    isr.read(); will return 1 character from "in".

  • [SOLVED] Getting freezes after using dwm for some time and exiting it

    Hello, I have an Asus Ux51, with a fresh (less than a month) arch installation. If I recall correctly I had a couple of freezes in other occasions but I don't remember much about those so I rather focus on the only freeze I can more or less reproduce and I've been having lately. After using dwm for some time with a couple of programs opened (rTorrent, browser, and some terminals for instance), if I close dwm or just press the power button to shut down, it starts closing everything and either stays with a black screen, or hangs while X prints the log information. It's not always though, for example, if I just boot it, open dwm and close it without giving it much use it usually closes fine.
    Tried googling a bit to see the usual ways to troubleshoot this but didn't get really far.

    Found this recent thread in the forums, I'll give REISUB a try late, but the times it freezed I remember trying to blindly reboot it, or switching off virtual console and couldn't.
    In case it's of any use, this is my # uname -a
    Linux arch 3.10.3-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Jul 26 11:26:59 CEST 2013 x86_64 GNU/Linux
    Could it have something to do with the nvidia optimus setup that this laptop has? When installing arch I found out that there was no support yet for it so I'm just using the intel drivers (following what the arch wiki said).
    Any ideas or advice to point me in the right direction would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    I don't start st in my .xinitrc. I launch it from dmenu and usually everything is fine. If I launch it from dwm's internal command using Alt-Shf-Return, X freezes 100% of the time. A workaround was suggested by st's main developer to call st like this:
    static const char *termcmd[] = { "/bin/sh", "-c", "st", NULL };
    but it didn't work for me.
    Very rarely X will freeze anyway. I haven't been able to pin it down. When X fails, my journal returns this:

    when I tgry to drop a video from the main screen to a time line with no secuence i receive an error with no number, just tell me the progran stop working and the program closes

    You need to help us first ...
    Computer specs:
    OS, CPU, RAM, GPU, vRAM ... and also disc layout & connections can be useful (as in, "2 internal hard-drives and an external on Thunderbolt connection for exports")
    Program specs:
    Specific build of Premier Pro from the bottom of the "About" splash screen off the "Help" menu is best.
    Footage file type: MXF, AVCHD, MOV, m2s, what?
    Even the camera it was shot on can be of interest at times.
    And did you use media browser to import, then project panel to drag & drop?

  • In the time line, cutaways and titles are supposed to be linked on the top side of movie clips in the time line window.  I don't know what I did, but now they are linked to the bottom side.  How do I get them up to the top where they belong?

    I'm working on a movie in FCP and using cutaways and titles in many places in the timeline.  While working on a movie 2 days ago, and I don't know what I did, all the cutaways and titles are now linked to the movie clips from below rather than above.  When I "grab" them and drag them up to the top-side, as soon as I "release", they go back down.  Along the menu bar, I've check the "view", "modify", "clips", etc., looking for any thing that might refer to appearance of the time line.  What must I do to get the cutaways and titles back on top where they belong?  The audio clips remained properly-linked to the time line and play properly.  The cutaways and titles can be seen but do not play.

    The cutaways and titles should be linked above the timeline clips, not below

    Ok. So a long time ago, around 3-4 years ago, my girlfriend at the time gave me her old iPhone 3GS as she had gotten a new one. Rather than resetting the device in any way I just kept using it with my SIM card. I have now just gotten an iPhone 4S and
