Use of "Next paragraph same page" check box in paragraph format of SCRIPT?

Hi Guys,
What is the use of "Next paragraph same page" check box in paragraph format of SCRIPT?
Don't Send me the F1 help ....i am not clear with that help it is quite confusing.
Provide example if possible.
Solutions will be rewarded.

Hello.
You probably know the idea of PROTECT command. It makes that a paragraph wont break in two. If it fit's totaly in one page it will print in that page. If not, it will print totaly in the second page (won't break at the middle).
The checkbox you are asking, makes the same with two paragraphs. This means that if you have paragraphs A and B (A becomes first) and if paragraph A has that option, the next paragraph won't break, and appear in the second page. If paragraph A is in first page, paragraph B will print in first page too, or they will both print in second page.

I know I can keep a paragraph on the same page as the next paragraph but I need to create a paragraph style that keeps a paragraph of the same page as the PREVIOUS paragraph. Is there anyway to do this?

This works. Here is a screen shot from Pages with "Show Invisibles" (the blue spaces and paragraph marks):
Line spacing is set in Inspector to add space after each paragraph without adding blank lines (it's better that way).
Dish Title, all descriptions, Price and the blank line below are set to "Keep with following paragraph".
Do not include the final blank line (which is really blank) in this linking.
Type this in Pages. Copy everything and then repeatedly Paste. See if the new pages appear as you want them.

In a window go for text elements & then go for change editor & use the following:
Insert->Characters->SAP symbols->SYM_CHECKBOX
It will not show checkbox in print preview. Take a printout.

Text has different look from one text box to the next on same page issue

I'm in the process of creating a new site that contains quite a bit of text from a book I wrote. I've taken the text from the original source, put it into text editor and made it into plain text. From there, I've pasted it into the iWeb text boxes and adjusted the text look (font is Arial, justified alignment). When viewing it in IE (probably others?), one block of text looks different than others.

I've verified that the font size and other options are all the same on iWeb. For the life of me I can't seem to figure this out. The only way I can think of possibly resolving this is to re-type each section from scratch. Given that there are about 75 wordy pages...UGGGG!

You could first try deleting your iweb preference file <com.apple.iWeb.plist> it is in your Library/preference folder.
To create a new domain file, first save your current file in a safe place, such as an external hard drive, burn to a CD, etc. By default it is in your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder. All your work is in this file, keep it safely backed up, if you lose this file you lose all your work, you can't restore from the published web site. When you get this file saved safely off your computer and open iWeb it will create a new empty domain. Once you have the new file created you can bring the old file back to the computer. You can put them side by side in any folder (give them different names so one won't replace the other) At this point you can double click the domain file itself to open iWeb. You could try cut and paste between the two domains. I'm not sure this will solve the problem but you could try it on one page, publish to a local folder and see if it helps. Sounds like a lot of work.
Which ever domain file was last used is the one iWeb will subsequently open unless you double click the actual domain file to open iWeb. Be careful and good luck.

Check Box in Paragraph Styles

Good Day. I have been using pages to write marketing and technical review docs. I have now forgotten how to use word! I am writing a white paper and need to create a TOC but I cant see those checkboxes that everyone is raving about to the left each paragraph style. Can someone help me please? I am using Pages 08 version 3.03. I know I should be moving on to 09 but right now too much pressure to get my work done! Thank you very much

Welcome to the forum.
Not quite sure what you are talking about.
There is only one place you get something like what you describe.
If you select some text and go to:
+Menu > View > Show Styles Drawer > click on a triangle next to Character Style > Create New Character Style from Selection > click on the triangle next to Include all character attributes+
You will see it.
I recently posted on how appalling a User Interface this is. One that Apple has adopted throughout OSX. One where you can only stumble on something by knowing exactly where it is and what combination of circumstances will reveal it.

While on my td bank secure site i log off then press the back arrow my secure page that i closed opens up.when i use internet explorer the same page doesnt sho

when i log off my td bank secure account page with the td log off botton i get a new td page. if i press the back arrow on the address bar the secure page i just closed pops up. when i do the same witn onternet explorer a generic td bank page home page pops up NEVER an account page with secure info shown. when this happens every time i dont know if i have logged off the secure page. i close my online browser[now firefox] to be sure the connection is broken but is the secure page open to any kind of breach? i am using firefox due to concern about intternet explore but i know on explorer when i log off td bank secure page i was on i can not access that page again unlees i login ,on firefox i press back arrow on address bar and the secure page i logged off shows up.i feel this is an important issue and must be addressed. thank you

What are your cookie settings?

You can delete all history when you exit Firefox, but it seems odd that a secure page that should expire is still accessible. It may be a timed expiration, but check the third party cookie settings to make sure it is not allowed to be saved.
I hope this helps prevent this from happening again.

Can we have Manual Form and Tabular form in the same page..

Is it possible to create a form manually with Save/Apply Change button and another Tabular form using wizard on the same page such that -
if we click the save button on the manulaly created form , it should save the data present in manual form as well as Tabular form...

At present my manual form does the following :-
When users click on SAVE button , it run PAGE PROCESS , ADD_PROCESS
In ADD_PROCESS ,
I have following logic to insert into process table
Select seq.next_val into temp_variable from dual; - This is the process_id
insert into process values ( temp_variable , :p2_process_owner , :p2_cateogory , .... )
to insert into region i used the following logic ( Region is displyed as check box :p2_region north=1 , south=2 ,east = 3 and west = 4)

Check box in XML Publisher report not displaying

Hi,
In my XML Publisher report , my template contains a checkbox, using forms tools i create that check box and run the report
but output of check box is not comming becoz,The XML Publisher default PDF output font does not support checkbox.
can any one give idea to solve this who face same problems;

What version of XMLP are you using ?
Check the user guide, there is an entry in there describing how to specifiy the check box glyph to be used for checks and unchecked.
Its will either be set using the UI or thru a config file depending on your version.

What are the possible values for a check box?

I'm trying to fill a pdf with a asp.net web form. I'm getting the text boxes filled ok, but I'm having trouble setting the check boxes. I am testing to see if a web form check box is checked. if it is, I tried to set the pdf checkbox value to "on". But this doesn't seem to be right.
My asp.net code is like:
If CheckBox1.Checked Then
af.SetField("pdfbox1", "On")
End If

The value is the value entered into the "Export Value" option when the form is created. You can use the Acrobat JavaScript "exportValues" property to get the array of values for the same named check boxes. And if you know the 'widget' of the check box, you can use 'isBoxChecked' method to check if a given 'widget' is checked. More information is contained in the Acrobat JavaScript doucmentation.

How to select the check box automatically

I'm using forms 6i.I have 3 check boxes.If i Select the 2nd and 3rd check box then the fist check box should be selected automatically.The 2nd and 3rd check boxes are mutliarray block attached to each other while the !st check box is not attached to them. while Can someone please tell me how to write the code for this?

It's not very clear, but I think that having a WHEN-CHECKBOX-CHANGED trigger on checkbox2 and checkbox3 that says
IF :checkbox2 = 'Y' and :checkbox3 = 'Y' THEN
:checkbox1 := 'Y';
ELSE
:checkbox1 := 'N';
END IF;assuming 'Y' is the checked value of each checkbox and 'N' the unchecked.

We can use in alv output icons and check boxes
         ICON(1)        TYPE C,        " as icon
         SYMBOL(1)      TYPE C,        " as symbol
         CHECKBOX(1)    TYPE C,        " as checkbox
in field catolog we can use these fields and you have to assign like remaing fields how you are using like that only. If you know Icon function code or symbol you put there, I think it may works.

Unable to Check ADD Attachment Check Box. Thereby getting only email and not the attachment (which will contain the output of BO report , in Excel Format)

I have an BO related issue. I tried to schedule a smtp event in BO to email the report output as Excel. Since this report will go to different users, I unchecked the Use the Job Server's defaults (CHECK BOX). For some reason, I can't check the Add Attachment(CHECK BOX). I received the email but without attachement. Do you know why I can't use attachment. The SMTP event works perfectly if I check Use the Job Server's defaults.

Problem with table check box

I have created table. My requirement is to add check box to select the record, i have used insert cell editor to bring check box in table. Created attribute check type char1 to bind. The output displayed with check box but if i am trying to select one record but it got selected all check box. Please suggest me where i did wrong.

I have created table which has 5 rows (for example) and 6 columns. The 7th column i need to add check box for that i have created one group column and changed it as check box. Here no problem but i have to bind that checked with attribute for that i created one attribute type char1 and binded, which is working fine. The problem is, if i select one check box it gets selected all check boxes in that column.
Please give me a way that adding check box in table without adding variable in my main table.

Javascript and vbscript on same page?

I an editing a customers site which had some old server side javascript on the page.
I need to use vbscript on the page now as the page is being upgraded to aspx instead of asp.
The question is, do I need to upgrade all the existing server side javascript on the page to vbscript or can the two co-exist side by side?

I'm not surprised they left.
aspx pages are Microsoft's .net pages which is completely different to asp. Using both on the same page will depend on your server set-up, but javascript is not a language you can use for aspx, and I would not recommend mixing them except for the most basic usage.
Your choices for aspx are - C#, vbscript, C++, Java++,, there are a few others but I have never heard of anyone using them.
You can use javascript for your client-side, (browser) scripting language though.

I have created a check box Group
texts = Mydata.Interest.Interests
Mydata is a node , Interests is of type Simple type Interests.
It has 3 enumerations.
But when i run, I am able to only one check box with out any text.
Where am i wrong?

Hi you cannot use symple type to name the check boxes.
create a node(Say CheckBox) of cardinality 0..N
with a context variable(Say CheckValue) of type String. Bind this attribute(CheckValue) to "texts" property of CheckBoxGroup.
Now, to add 5 checkboxes from code, use the following code
IPrivate<View>.ICheckBoxNode lNode=wdContext.nodeCheckBox();
IPrivate<View>.ICheckBoxElement lEl;
for(int i=0;i<5;i++)
lEl=lNode.createCheckBoxElement();
