Use of Pegging requirements

Hi all,
Please explain the use of without pegging button in MD04
(When we put cursor on production order and press the pegged requirements button, we can see the pegged requirements buttons for some materials). It doesn't come for all materials.
Please explain its functionality.

Ravindra

Pegging
Use
If you implement the component Grouping, Pegging, Distribution for project-based production procedures, you can use pegging to determine the proportional assignments of replenishment elements (production orders, purchase orders) for a grouping WBS element to the objects causing the requirements (reservations, planned independent requirements). These assignments form the basis for the cost distribution that follows and that distributes the costs for the procurement elements of grouped requirements to the original projects.
Pegging can be performed in two different ways:
When you make assignments according to MRP Logic, the assignment of replenishment elements to pegged requirements takes place according to the current requirements planning situation. Previous assignments are not taken into account.
The second option is the use of the Fixing Rule: during the assignment process, the attempt is made to copy as many assignments for a replenishment element as possible form the previous pegged requirements run. This means that cost transfer postings at a later date can be avoided.
Special rules must be applied for the assignment of exceptions (surplus, scrap and stock differences).
The transactions for pegging and cost distribution are not in the SAP menu. The function can only be released after agreement with SAP. Due to the complexity of the grouping, pegging and distribution (GPD) process, you should discuss your relevant business processes with a consultant from the SAP Industry Unit Aerospace and Defense.
Prerequisites
To execute pegging, the following prerequisites must be met:
Grouped material requirements under one or several grouping WBS elements must exist for the WBS elements
You have assigned a distribution profile to your grouping WBS element in Customizing
You have assigned a logic for the execution of pegging on plant level in Customizing under Pegging: General Settings.
You have assigned rules for the assignment of exceptions in Customizing under Pegging: General Settings.
You have maintained the movement types that are allowed for pegging in Customizing.
You can find further information on the necessary Customizing activities in the SAP IMG under Logistics ® Project System ® Costs ® Automatic and Periodic Allocations ® Pegging and Distribution.
If you want to use a cost structure that deviates form the production structure, you have created break points.
You have created special WBS elements for the assignment of exceptions (scrap. surplus and stock differences) either on plant level or grouping WBS element level. You can find further information under Assigning Exceptions.
You have assigned grouping WBS elements of category 1 (valid for all materials) to a plant. You can find further information under Assigning Grouping WBS Elements to a Plant.
You have executed material requirements planning (MRP). You can find further information under  Starting a Multi-Level Single-Item Planning Run.
Features
Pegging contains the following functions:
Determination of the pegged requirements assignments
Determination of break points
Assignment of exceptions (scrap, surplus, stock differences)
Processing assignments
Transfer posting material to material
Reporting
The following functions are not supported in pegging:
cross-plant processes
use of serialized materials
use of manufacturer part numbers or supersession materials
assignment of requirements form sales orders to projects

What exactly pegged requirement and PIR means

    Hi Samsalish,
    Pegged Requirements:
You can use the Pegged requirements function to retrace from any BOM level
    a) Which requirements are the source of which procurement proposals
    b) Which independent requirements (especially sales orders) are affected if a procurement proposal is cancelled or a date or
quantity is changed on a lower level.
    IT'S Features:
For the MRP display will be:
    a) Just the pegged requirement(s) on the highest BOM level - The system displays the requirements quantity and the input
quantity for each requirement. The input quantity is the portion of the MRP element that is required to cover the displayed
requirement. The input quantity is displayed in the base unit of measure of the material.
    b) The order route; that means all the requirements and replenishment elements that lie between the pegged requirement and
        the:
    MRP element
If an MRP element contains a quantity that was not caused by a requirement from a higher level, the system displays this
quantity separately. Quantities without source arise, if more is produced than is required because of a rounding value for the
lot size or a fixed lot size or if procurement proposals have been scheduled manually.
Use MD04/MD09 to access the same.

  • MRP - PEGGED REQUIREMENT REPORT

    Hi Gurus
I have a question with regards to Pegged requirement report (MD04) and was told to analyse the up stream and down stream dependencies of a planned order. May i understand where and what is that down and up stream about ?

    Dear Alisonhar,
    Pegged Requirements
You can use the Pegged requirements function to retrace from any BOM level

  • Mass extraction of Pegged requirements

    Dear SAp Guru,
We would like to know if there is a transaction wherein we could extract the pegged requirements linked to each planned
or production order. Currently this is done individually via MD04
Is there a way or a transaction that we could use for the mass extraction of pegged requirements?
    Thanks in advance,
    JMT

    Dear Jasmin,
There is standard T Code MD09 to see pegging but only for one order at a time.

  • This ipod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the Itunes installer to remove Itunes, then install the 64-bit version of Itunes.

I'm not sure if the error message is related but smart friend was using my computer started deleting Quicktime & Safari and told me that they shouldn't be on my computer as they are not windows product & I can't use them on my laptop. With trepidation but acknowledging I don't know any of the stuff they were talking about, I allowed them to raid my laptop thinking it could be for the best. Now I'm not sure if it is related or not but depsite me having the most recent Itunes updates on both my Ipod 4TH GT, I am getting the following message everytime I connect my Ipod to the computer...and the timing would be about right too:
this ipod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the Itunes installer to remove Itunes, then install the 64-bit version of Itunes.
If it helps I am running the 10.7.0.21 on the Sony Vaio & remember checking last week I do have the latest update on the Ipod but it is a different version from the Itunes on the laptop (which may be normal, I wouldn't know) but as I am away from home & Wifi I can't tell u the version on that though.
My problem is I cannot find an apple installer on the laptop to uninstall & I have searched Apple & Google for help and have seen others posts with the same issue but alot of the answers unfortunately I can't follow. I would greatly appreciate it if you can you answer any of these questions for me?
*Will add & remove totally uninstall Itunes so that I can reinstall?
*Will I lose my apps, music & data?
*If the apps, music & data is recoverable, how do I do that?
Sadly I can't find the installer & would love to add my new Mumford & Sons cd to my Ipod collection but don't know how to fix this. I love my Ipod & google but I have spent hours tryign updates, downloads, searches & feedback to Apple. A few months ago I had an Itunes billing problem & there was a webpage where you could email an apple support worker & rhe replied to my credit card problem within a day or 2 but I can't find that help for this problem..I couldn't express my graditude enough if you could help me with this, but thank you.

This "smart friend" really sounds like a collosal moron.
Follow the instructions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925  to remove and reinstall all Apple products on your computer.
Once you get everything working, the next time your "smart friend" wants to touch your computer, tell them firmly NOT A CHANCE IN ****!
None of your data (media, podcasts, apps) will be affected by removing and reinstalling iTunes.

This iphone can not be used because the required software is not installed. Run the itunes installer to remove itunes, then install the 64bit version of itunes
I keep getting the above error everytime I plug in my iphone.
I am not daft, I do have the 64bit version of iTunes installed already. When I installed itunes 10.5 and more recently 10.5.1 I got an error message that rolls back a section of the installation (The updater I think) before finishing off installing iTunes.
After the installation iTunes will work normally apart from when I try to connect a device. At which point I get the title error message and I can not sync my phone.
It's probably down to Itunes not installing properly however no matter what I try I can not sort the problem out. I've tried uninstalling all apple programmes followed by a registry clean, then reinstall. I've tried the same again but in a specific order. I've tried repairing iTunes, repairing the updater etc etc. Nothing seems to work. I'm out of ideas.
Has anybody had this problem? Please can somebody tell me how to fix it!
Getting an iPad this Christmas and if I can't sync that up to my PC I may just have to go over to ANDROID!!!

Is there a way to install this on its own?
Yeah, let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunes64Setup.exe installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunes64Setup.exe, and select "Extract to iTunes64Setup". WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunes64Setup".
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, does an iTunes install go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • IPod Touch iOS6 cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.6.3 or later.

Hi, just now I've updated my iPod Touch 4th generation to iOS 6 and I backed it up on iTunes before. Now I want to restore that backup but when I plug it onto my iMac (running OS X 10.5.8), iTunes pops up a message that says: "The iPod "Trang's iPod touch" cannot be used be because it requires iTunes version 10.6.3 or later. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes". My iTunes right now is iTunes 10.6 (40) if that helps. I pressed iTunes > Check for Updates... then it says that I have the current version! I did the same with apple logo > Software Update, and nothing new. I then went on itunes.com and the newest version is 10.7, except I don't want to risk to download it and lose all my music files again, and it's not even compatible with my iMac!
Like said, my version cannot sync over wi-fi because iCloud also isn't compatible with Leopard. What do I do? Do I HAVE to buy an update for Snow Leopard then be able to sync my iPod? They don't even sell physical copies in stores anymore.. now I'm stuck with a clean state iOS 6 iPod. If I knew, I wouldn't have updated it. Is there any way to go back?
    Regards

I'm having a similar problem, but moved on a few versions. I've been given an iPod nano, but when I try to add music to it I get an error message saying, "The iPod “iPod” cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.7 or later" and inviting me to download the latest version. However, I'm using iOS 10.5.8, and the computer can't update to a newer version. That, in turn, limits me to versions of iTunes no later than 10.6.3.
Is there a way to make the new iPod connect to my still very much functional but not new Macbook? All help gratefully received!

Thanks for your reply. My Mac is running 10.5.8: it's 4 years old.  When I try to update the OS software, I'm told there are none available.
Be careful - there's a difference between update and upgrade.  Your machine is saying there are no updates available, meaning no later versions of OS X 10.5 (Leopard).  However, you can very likely upgrade - at least to OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), and possibly then to OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion).
Updates are free, but upgrades cost a bit.  That's the dirference.

  • Cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.6.3 or later.

I updated my phone and now when I try and update my podcasts, etc I get this message:
The iPhone “John Mott’s iPhone” cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.6.3 or later. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes.
When I try and update iTunes it tells me I'm up to date.
    How do I fix it?
Why did I update?  I use Apple because MS always does this.  C'mon already!

I'm having a similar problem. Perhaps more complex. I just downloaded the 10.6.3 and it didn't solve the problem for my iPhone 5.
I have the new iPhone 5 and iTunes is asking for iTunes 7.0 in order to recognize the phone. I tried to download iTunes 7.0 but an error comes up stating that I need the 10.6.8. Well I tried to download the 10.6.8 and an error message came up saying that I need minimum of 10.6. So now I'm confused....
These are the error messages in order.
    1. The iPhone “iPhone” cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.7 or later. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes.
    2. This update requires Mac OS X version 10.6.8 or higher.
    3. This update requires Mac OS X version 10.6.
Will I have to pay for the 10.6?

  • IPhone cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.6.3 or later

I have a user who is trying to use her iPhone 3 with her MacBook Pro.  She is running Lion and has the latest version of iTunes installed (version 11.0 or whatever the new one is).  When she plugs her phone into her computer a message pops up on her computer screen:
"The iPhone cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.6.3 or later.  Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes."
We have ensure that all the software on her computer is up to date and this still keeps popping up.  Please help!
    Thanks!

Restart the Mac and try again.
You can always re download iTunes here >  Apple - iTunes - Download iTunes Now
No need to uninstall the currently installed copy of iTunes before doing so.
The latest version of iTunes available is v11.0.4
With iTunes open, from the menu bar click iTunes > About iTunes
That will tell you the currently installled version.

My iPhone 4S will not sync to iTunes. I've download the newest version of iTunes several times but when plugging my phone in it says "The iPhone cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.6.3 or later." HELP!

If you're using Windows try uninstalling iTunes and all of its components as by following this guide exactly: Windows XP or Windows Vista/7, then reinstall the latest version of iTunes.  You must follow this guide exactly or it will not be successful.  Note: uninstalling iTunes will only remove the application; it will not touch your iTunes library or data.

  • I plug in my iPhone and this message showed. "This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes." I did this but still not working. Please advise

I have a problem with connecting my iPhone to iTunes. I uninstalled one of the computer program and restart my laptop. After restart my laptop and a message said that iTunes might not working because one of the component is missing and request to reinstall the iTunes. Hence I remove iTunes from my laptop and I reinstall iTunes to my laptop but still not working.
Before this the iTunes will automatically launch when I plug in my iPhone. But after I reinstall iTunes, it's not working. When I try to plug in my iPhone after iTunes launched and message "This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes." popped out. I did this twice but it's not working as well.
Please advise what should I do to fix this.

First make sue you are installing the 64 bit version of iTunes.
Second make sure it is iTunes 10.7 or later.
I would download a fresh copy of the 64 bit version of iTunes 11. After installation reboot your computer.
Before connecting your phone reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
