Use of PSE 9 on 2nd computer

I am trying to use my PSE9 on my wife's computer. It is one of two on which it was installed, activated and previously used. It is now acting like this is a third computer and I need to deactivate on one of the others!

If you are sure that you do not have a computer 1 and 2 with activated Photoshop Elements 9 when you try to install Photoshop Elements 9 on a 3rd computer with the same purchased serial number, then Adobe via its Adobe Chat is the only one who can resolve the issue. This is true even though you are not dealing with the latest version.
Click on the following link. When it opens, click on the statement "I still need help" to bring up the Adobe Chat.

The link kind of worked [took a couple of hours ] but then I wasn't able to fully install it, it said it was partially installed and I didn't know where to go from there. A red disk appeared on my desk top, I clicked it and another window appeared but then I couldn't do anything with it. It said I had to access the download manager but I don't know what a download manager is, it certainly isn't where my documents download to.
My original CD is for student teacher edition which I still fall under, I have a serial number for that edition.
If you are able to shed any further light on this I would be very grateful.

Using Photoshop Elements on my 2nd Computer

Hi all -
First, my apologies if this is not the proper forum for this question - I just didn't see any others that looked more appropriate.
I have a Tower G4 running 10.3.9. "Many" years ago I purchased, installed, and registered Photoshop Elements 3.0.
I have recently purchased a new MacBook running 10.5.7. Is there any way I can use my PE3 on my new MacBook in addition to my G4? Or will I have to obtain an additional license? Or will I just have to buy PE6 (which I've heard many bad things about)?

Adobe licensing generally is for one desktop computer and one portable computer, provided the two versions are not running at the same time. The EULA for Elements 3 confirms that such is the case for it as well
Ahh, thanks for that. Looks like I was wrong when I said this wouldn't be allowed. Interesting that it's limited to a desktop plus portable... that's quite logical and forward-thinking behavior from a company I would not expect that from.
I am curious about what "bad" things you have heard regarding Elements 6?
You said it yourself... the "awful gray on gray interface"! After all the years Adobe has been developing Mac apps, it shows an astounding lack of interest in customer opinions that they would release something that they should know will not be appreciated by Mac users. Plus the fact that it still, after all these years, won't run on a non-admin account without tweaking the permissions. And if you don't use some of the newer things like Adobe Bridge, there aren't any features in PSE 6 that weren't in PSE 3.
I've said it before, I'll say it again... Photoshop (and PSE) really needs some competition! But, of course, all this whining I'm doing really isn't appropriate for this forum, so I'll quit now...

You probably downloaded the CC trial version. Uninstall then download the appropriate update version available from the site below. And install. Your serial number should be accepted.

If it's that you already have it use on two computers, you need activation support:

If it says the serial number is invalid be sure you are typing it correctly. There are no letters, only numbers, so anything that looks like an O is a 0.

Using a 2nd Computer for Sample Playback

After a few recent projects started to choke on all the Kontakt3 instruments I was using, I'm thinking about getting a 2nd computer just to run more sampled sounds.
Anybody have any experiences/tips to report? Should I get a 2nd mac (iMac? Mini?) or a cheap PC?
Should I just route the audio normally, or use Ethernet (or something else) for machine-to-machine communication?
Or is there a way to get better performance on one computer by using Kontakt in 'standalone' mode and somehow routing it back into Logic?
Interested in other users' solutions to this situation. I've already got plenty of RAM and drive space, and I know my way around Kontakts DFD settings. But I used to use an old PC for Gigastudio, and now I'm thinking it's time to try a similar setup. What's the preferred method these days?

I know many people use the free app "Soundflower" to use Software instruments like Kontakt as a stand alone, and pump it back into Logic.
The main benefit here is it will use RAM Logic does not. So if you have a lot of RAM in your computer, you can access more of it this way (for software instruments, I mean).

Please check area 6 above. As mentioned in my previous reply: Most likely your machine has no video out port.

I was wondering what the steps and cautions are to upgrade from OSX 10.4.11 on an old Mac Book Pro (2nd computer for shared use in household for emails, etc.) 2.33 Inel Core 2 Duo to OSX 10.6.8 or highest that I can?

You will need to get a 10.6 Snow Leopard retail disk which I don't think are still available from Apple.
Google "buy mac 10.6 snow leopard" to get an idea of current pricing. You'll need updates to10.6.8 in order to upgrade to 10.7 (the early core duo MBPros can not do this) or possibly 10.8 but check the exclusion list to be sure.

2nd Computer Requires a Manual Wireless Network Connection Setting on Powerup
On power-up, my 2nd computer, a 3 yo IBM R51, requires that I open the Network Connections window, then set the Wireless Network Connection Properties under the Wireless Network Tab, clicking on "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings", before the automatic connection launches to the WRT150N v1.1 router signal.
I just bought the router and have the latest firmware.
My primary computer does not require the above settings change every time.
Is there a selection I can make so this is automatic on power-up or restart of my 2nd computer?

It was already set to automatic on both extended and standard tabs.
For a good measure, I set it to disable, applied, then reset it to automatic and applied again. Still does same thing.
I notice that if I double click on the small icon for the Intel ProWireless Network Card, I get a Wireless Connection Status Window.
This window has a Wireless Settings section where it seems to have a possibly obsolete "Current Location Profile" called ssnetwork (the name of my old network on my old D-Link router that I just changed out for the Linksys.
Anyway, the Network Name (SSID) field is now blank but when it first came up, it had the new name of the network I'm using.
Do you know how I access this "Current Location Profile" so I can edit it and possibly enter my new network name?
There is a button at the bottom of the screen called "Modify WLAN Settings" that I click but nothing launches when I do so.
Now that I manually did the connection setting, my network name appears in the "Current Location Profile."

I have 2 computers, one has Fire Fox Reader one does not. Is it possible to copy/paste by way of a jump drive a pdf file that is saved using Fire Fox Reader to the computer that does not have Fire Fox Reader and be able to open & work with that pdf file? Yes, if you save a PDF file then you can open that file with any program that can handle such a PDF file.
So if the other computer has the Adobe Reader then that program will be used.
