Use of RF scanner for Optimization of Warehouse operations

Dear All,
I am going through the SAP forum, i saw few of you worked on some scenarios related to RF scanner.
I am also working on a business requirement to optmise the Warehouse operation, like in existing business GR / TO confirmation/ GI/ JIT call creation happen everything in SAP standard transaction / as i am working with automotive OEM, we have a functionality called BORGR for IBD/ Shipment / TO/TO confirmation/ and GR.
Our warehouse operation in HU manged.
Could you pl help me on configuration or usages of RF scanner for the GR/ GI/ JIT call creation ( LM01)
It will be great help if any document for support will get from your side.
Appreciate your earnest response
Thanks in advance

    Hi PP champs
I am looking for a potential development for my current project and i am sure somebody can help me in this.
    - Automatic operation confirmation for Production Order using the scanner. Client's requirement is that they want to do the operation wise confirmation .If my Prodcution Order print is Barcoded , will it be possible for me to go for Auto execution of CO11N , In which system should follwn the operation sequence also.
I am having a doubt for the possibility to record the actual time also during a specific operation
Pl share your valuable inputs for the same..
    Thanks in advance

    HI Sumit,
if I understand you correctly you want to use an external system with scanner to request the confirmation.
You can use BAPI or IDOC for this I think.
See transaction BAPI to get a list of all possible BAPIS for confirmation.

  • Can Oracle be forced to use the spatial index for sdo_filter in combination with an or clause? Difference between Enterprise and SE?

We’re seeing the following issue: sql - Can Oracle be forced to use the spatial index for sdo_filter in combination with an or clause? - Stack Overflow (posted by a colleague of mine) and are curious to know if this behaviour is due to a difference between standard and enterprise, or could we doing something else wrong in our DB config.?
We have also reproduced the issue on the following stacks:
Oracle SE One 11.2.0.3 (with Spatial enabled)
    Redhat Linux 2.6.32-358.6.2.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu May 16 20:59:36 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
11.2.0.3.0 Standard Edition and 11.2.0.4.0 Standard Edition (both with Spatial enabled)
Microsoft Windows Server 2003R2 Standard x64 Edition
However, the SQL works fine if we try it on Oracle 11.2.0.3.0 *Enterprise* Edition.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
    Kindest Regards,
    Kevin

In my experience sdo_filter ALWAYS uses the spatial index, so that's not the problem. Since you did not provide the explain plans, we can't say for sure but I think yhu is right: Standard Edition can't use the bitmap operations, and thus it'll take longer to combine the results of the two queries (because the optimizer will surely split this OR up in two parts, then combine them).
BTW: when asking questions about queries here, it would be nice if you posted the queries here as well, so that we do not have to check another website in order to see what you are doing. Plus it will probably get you more answers, because not everyone can be bothered to click on that link. It would also have been nice if you had posted your own answer on the other post here as well, because my recommendation would have been to use union all - but since you already found that out for yourself my recommendation would have been a little late.

  • How can i use an barcode scanner and a keyboard at the same time on Ipad

HI I am looking to find a way to use a barcode scanner and the on screen key bard at the same time, so far i cant seem to find a way to do it.
Does any one know how this can be done.
    thanks

It is possible, I use multiple versions, however Firefox official policy is that you use firefox3.6 or 5 ; not firefox 4 which is not secure and not supported.
The easiest solution may be to use firefox portable http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable/localization#legacy36 although firefox 3.6 will itself not be supported for much longer.

  • I upgraded to 10.8.4 and now it won't let me use my Epson scanner, saying "power pc applications are no longer supported." How do I make it work?

I upgraded to 10.8.4 and now I can' use my Epson scanner  I get a message saying, "ou can't open the application Epson Scan apps because Power PC applications are no longer supported." I also can't synch my old Palm Pilot for the same reason.
    How can I fix this?

We need to sort out some facts here first:
    •  You cannot be running Mt. Lion on your iMac G5.  What Mac is it?  What is the Model Identifier listed in About This Mac; More Info; Hardware Overview
    •  What is the model of your Epson Scanner?
    •  Have you attempted to scan using Image Capture, located in your Applications folder?
    •  Your Palm Pilot software will only run in Snow Leopard; so depending upon which Mac you have, you will either have to:
    1)  partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard into it to "dual-boot" when you want to access you Palm software, or
    2)  install Snow Leopard Server (now available from Apple for $20 telephone orders USA & Canda only) into Parallels 8 to run your Palm software in Mt. Lion:

  • "Procurement Wizard"  window opens for a particular warehouse while saving Sales Order

    Hello All,
We have upgraded SAP B1 8.8 to SAP B1 9.0
My client is facing one of problem while saving Sales order using particular warehouse.
Actually client is having 4 warehouses (A,B,C,D) in which if they use one particular warehouse "A" for saving Sales order they are facing a issue. The scenario is here below:
    1. Client selects all required details of sales order with along with particular warehouse "A".
    2. On saving SO "Procurement Wizard" is automatically triggered even if procurement document field is unchecked in logistic tab of SO.
    3. This is happening only for a particular warehouse "A". Whereas if I select other 3 warehouses (B,C,D) the system saves SO without trigerring "Procurement Wizard".
Client is using SAP B1 9.0 PL 08
We don't want this  "Procurement Wizard" window to open for this. As we haven't selected any check box for  "Procurement Wizard" so it should not open for a particular warehouse "A".
Do you think any issue with my warehouse or system settings? Please let me know.
    Please refer screen shots.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Saurabh,
As per your Screen Shot, I think you have Add-on.
Please stop that Add-on and then check above Scenario.
    Thanks

  • I have an IMac and would like to scan and edit scans can anyone suggest a scanner for the Mac

Help.  I have an IMac and I want to scan and be able to edit my scans and I have received so many different opinions on how to do this.  Buy a separate scanner or buy an all in one that scans but you have to get software to edit. It is really confusing so before I purchase a scanner I need to know if anyone else is doing this and what machine should I buy. Thanks for the help.

Hi and thanks for replying. I have a management company and I would like to scan a document and then be able to go in and make changes if necessary.  Some people told me to purchase a Fujitsu 1500 scanner for the Mac which costs about 500.00 but didn't think I needed something that sophisticated and then another opinion was to get an all in one but I need software to edit and no one seems to know what software to purchase. Thanks again for your input.
Get the Fujitsu (Get the M1500, the S1500 is for Windows), it comes with ABBy Fine Reader OCR software that is probably less good than Vuescan but for printed text works just fine, handwriting is a different matter. It is about $500 (look around, under $400 is sometimes possible) don't buy the S version, none of the software will work on a Mac. I've used this scanner fairly often, it's better than the price would suggest.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 instead CS4 for optimization on older hardware . . .

    Dreamweaver CS3 instead CS4 for optimization on older hardware . . .
I do design for print and every year more and more customers have asked me if I would design their web site after I have designed their brochures and other collateral. For the last nine years I have never found the time to learn web production. I purchased Adobe PageMill and then upgraded to Adobe GoLive 5 but I have never found the time to learn these programs. But lately, requests for web design have persisted. I downloaded the trial version of Dreamweaver CS4 but it is too slow on my 1.25 GHz MDD Dual G4, running Mac OS 10.4.11.
So I purchased the Dreamweaver CS3 upgrade, which was still available from Officemax.com. I also purchased "Dreamweaver CS3: The Missing Manual" by David McFarland. I'll be going through the tutorials on weekends trying to become functional with Dreamweaver.
I'll be using it in WYSIWYG mode and not as a HTML coder.

I would have been happy to make DWCS4 my first step up to Dreamweaver but with it not officially supported on G4 Macs and all the menus at the top running way too slow, I needed to stick with what is officially supported for the G4 by Adobe, Dreamweaver CS3.
It is possible that future updates of DWCS4 will be more optimized and do OK on my G4. It is also possible that running my outdated version of Font Reserve 3.1.4, under Mac OS 10.4.11, is slowing down the menus on DWCS4 on my machine even Acrobat 7 Pro gives me slow menus with my current set up.
InDesign CS3 is fast enough on my system and IDCS4 runs just as fast as IDCS3 on my Dual MDD G4.
I don't think I will be getting an Intel-Mac desktop and laptop until 18 months from now.

  • How to use the mirrored and log shipped secondary database for update or insert operations

    Hi,
I am doing a DR Test where I need to test the mirrored and log shipped secondary database but without stopping the mirroring or log shipping procedures. Is there a way to get the data out of mirrored and log shipped database to another database for update
    or insert operations?
Database snapshot can be used only for mirrored database but updates cannot be done. Also the secondary database of log shipping cannot used for database snapshot. Any ideas of how this can be implemented?
    Thanks,
    Preetha

Hmm in this case I think you need Merge Replication otherwise it breaks down the purpose of DR...again in that case..

  • Reference movement type for transfer in warehouse mgmt

    Hi ,
In the warehause management system,  IM movement type is link to WM movement type.
Maintenace veiw V_156S_WM ( Table  156SC ).  IM movement type 321 has three reference movement type in WM.
    396 , 397 , 321 .
Again  through table T321 ( veiw V_T321 ) reference Mvt 396 is  link to 311 in WM , 397 link to 312 in WM and 321 to 321 In WM.
If i perform 321 movement in IM , then how the system will determine unique reference movement from table
    V_156S_WM ( Table  156SC ) .
    Thanks
    Sanjay

    Hi,
The stock tsf ref mvnt type in V_156S_WM(-UMRBL) is:
Reference movement type for transfer in warehouse mgmt
Reference movement type for the second transfer in the Warehouse Management system.
    Use
This reference movement type is necessary when a goods movement (stock transfer) in Inventory Management causes two transfers in the Warehouse Management system (stock removal from one storage type and stock placement in another).
Inventory Management movement types that do not initiate any activity in the Warehouse Management System have the reference movement type 999.
The ref mvnt type in V_156S_WM(-RBLVS) is:
Reference movement type for WM from material movements
Reference key for determining the movement type in the Warehouse ManagementSystem.
    Use
Each Inventory Management movement type that is relevant to the WM system is allocated to a reference movement type, with which the system determines the corresponding movement type in the WM system.
Using the reference movement type, you can group together Inventory Management movement types that result in the same movement in the WM system.
Inventory Management movement types that do not initiate any activity in the Warehouse Management System have the reference movement type 999.
    ...sorry, basic help text.
    Cheers,
    Hein

  • What's the Best Business-Card Scanner for Leopard?

    Hello, All:
What's the best business-card scanner for the Mac, using Leopard? Anyone currently using one or know of one? Or two?
    Thank you,

I use the IRIS card scan which works but is a long shot worse than the Cardscan which i used to have on a pc back in 2000.... there is currently no really good solution for business card scanning on the mac that i have seen.

  • Scanner for documents and books

I'm looking for a versatile scanner to use primarily for documents and books (not photos or film). If I were only looking for a document scanner, I'd be checking out the Fujuita ScanSnap iX500. It's pricy, but it has rave reviews. Unfortunately, I also need to scan chunks of books for my research, and I can't run my bound books through a document scanner.
So instead, I'm in the market for a flatbed or handheld scanner that can output scans as PDFs with OCR and, of course, is compatible with Macs. I use an Air at home and a Pro Retina at work. If I got a handheld scanner, it would have to be more like a wand than a pen - it has to be able to scan entire pages.
Any suggestions? I'd ideally like something fast (as fast as a flatbed or handheld could be, I guess) and not buggy, something that's geared toward black and white text rather than photos. Does something like this exist?
I'm also in the market for a wireless printer, but it seems like most printer/scanner combos do one or both jobs poorly, so I'm planning on getting them separately.

    deggie wrote:
Not really, all he is doing is scanning to a SD chip, the title gives the impression he connects the scanner to the camera connection kit and scans to the iPad. You could go to a copy shop that has a copier that will output to an SD chip and do the same thing.
To me there is nothing misleading about his title at all. It is a wireless scanner. He is using his iPad with CCK to get scans from the scanner onto his iPad. Lets look at it again:
"I'm able to use a wireless scanner with my iPad and Camera Connector!!!" (emphasis mine)
I don't see anything that indicates he connected the scanner directly to his iPad via the CCK or that he connected his iPad to the scanner wirelessly--if he did why would he need the CCK?. Had he left the word 'wireless' out or had he said 'connect' and 'to' I would agree with you, but he didn't, he said 'use' and 'with'. With the CCK thrown it makes no sense to think that a wireless device would be directly connected via the CCK. That would indicate a wireless wired device which is rather meaningless. I have a CCK and there is no provision for that
When I first read it I said 'That doesn't make sense...how can he get the scan from the scanner to the iPad. It can't be wireless and it can't be via the CCK for he specifically said wireless scanner." I simply had to read the thread to find out just what was going on. I did not know about scanners which scanned to a memory card. Now I do so I learned something from his note.
As for your mention of the copy shop...misdirection...he specifically said it was useful to a student who needed to scan documents that cannot be removed from the library. How can a copy shop scanner even if it has a SD chip accomplish that?

  • Where to find best practices for tuning data warehouse ETL queries?

    Hi Everybody,
Where can I find some good educational material on tuning ETL procedures for a data warehouse environment?  Everything I've found on the web regarding query tuning seems to be geared only toward OLTP systems.  (For example, most of our ETL
queries don't use a WHERE statement, so the vast majority of searches are table scans and index scans, whereas most index tuning sites are striving for index seeks.)
I have read Microsoft's "Best Practices for Data Warehousing with SQL Server 2008R2," but I was only able to glean a few helpful hints that don't also apply to OLTP systems:
    often better to recompile stored procedure query plans in order to eliminate variances introduced by parameter sniffing (i.e., better to use the right plan than to save a few seconds and use a cached plan SOMETIMES);
    partition tables that are larger than 50 GB;
    use minimal logging to load data precisely where you want it as fast as possible;
    often better to disable non-clustered indexes before inserting a large number of rows and then rebuild them immdiately afterward (sometimes even for clustered indexes, but test first);
rebuild statistics after every load of a table.
But I still feel like I'm missing some very crucial concepts for performant ETL development.
BTW, our office uses SSIS, but only as a glorified stored procedure execution manager, so I'm not looking for SSIS ETL best practices.  Except for a few packages that pull from source systems, the majority of our SSIS packages consist of numerous "Execute
    SQL" tasks.
Thanks, and any best practices you could include here would be greatly appreciated.

  • Oracle for a Data Warehouse & Data Mining Project

    Hello,
I am working for a marketing company and we have a pretty big OLTP database and my supervisor wants to make use of these data for decision making. The plan is to create a
data mart(if not a warehouse) and use data mining tools on top of it.
He does not want to buy one of those expensive tools so I was wondering if we could handle such a project just by downloading OWB and Darwin from Oracle site? None of us are data warehouse specialists so it will be very though for us. But I would like to learn. Actually, I was looking for some example warehouse + mining environment implementations to get the main ideas. I will appreciate any suggestions and comments.

  • Best scanner for lotsa 35mm negs on MAC

I've seen the Epson v700 mentioned as a good scanner, not toooo ridiculously high priced.
But I've read that it uses Silverfast software which is a nightmare for mac users (I know this from experience).
Will photoshopCS4 work with this scanner?
Can anybody recommend any other scanner under a thousand dollars?

You will get epson scan with it wont you?, the silverfast software is an extra. The Epson stuff is very good, even the cheaper models. We've also got an old epson perfection connected to our minilab, its been used six days a week for the last five or so years and its still going strong. Digital ice will take out the dust and scratches for you (but not on kodachrome or proper black and white film) . Weve also got a microtek 1800f which I went for because it has a glassless system for holding the film (to avoid Newton rings) but I find the epson doesnt suffer from this anyway even when laying a neg straight onto the glass. We had a Nikon film scanner for a while, it gave lovely results with the multi sampling turned up but was very slow. The other option is to find someone with a Noritsu minilab, ours gives very good results and it will be alot less tedious for you.
