Use of SE16N discontinued in SCM EWM Ver 7.01

Hi there
We have implemented EWM ver 7.01 and I now find that TxCde SE16N is no longer available but SE16 is still there.
Is there a way to re-activate this or is it gone for ever?

Ths is long story, but to cut it short...
It was developed as a utility in the SAP_APPL component CO-PA (controlling) but has BC (Basic Components) capabilities and now makes those same checks (S_DEVELOP and S_TABU_DIS primarily) which "normal" endusers should not need...
It is however still located in CO-PA and many corrections are backported to lower releases (it first appeared in 46C) so such a change is not easy for software logistics using the package concept.
This means that an installed system (e.g. BW or EWM etc...) which does not have the SAP_APPL CO-PA component installed does not have the transaction code nor other objects (reports, function modules, etc) related to it.
Perhaps once it is sufficiently secured to be a mainstream transaction (in the wild it certainly is... and is MUCH more usefull than SE16 if you have the "same" and "correct" authorizations...) then SAP can use a major release change to switch the component to BC (Basis).
I sometimes think that it would be best suited in an IS component (Industry Solutions) but then again we would all be digging for oil in our backgardens if that was the requirement..

Screen exit for transactoin /SCWM/VEH related to SCM eWM

Hello All,
I need to add a dropdown or F4 help button on a custom screen in transactoin /SCWM/VEH related to SCM eWM. I did not finf any screen exits for this transactoins. Please suggest is there any way in acheiving this?
Also can anybody explain how to achieve Batch to Batch transfer posting technically in eWM.
Please suggest me where can i found good tech document related to eWM.

Did you find any solutions for adding fields to /SCWM/MAT1? I did't find any suitable screen exit or BADI to add fields to product master,

For some requirement in SCM 7.0 (EWM - Extended warehouse management) I have tried to find out the BADI but no one is
working. And, also I couldn't get any User exits(Form ... Endform routines) and Customer exits (Where we put logic in Z includes)
though I am not sure whether we can enhance application by using User exits and customer exits or not.
Can you please suggest me if there are any other enhancement ways when we don't find BAdi's, User exits and Customer exits ?

Use of Max. stack factor in EWM

Dear Experts,
We have these 2 fileds - Max.StackFactor & Rem.Vol after Nesting under units of measurement tab in EWM product master.
can you please give some hint on what is the purpose of these 2 fields?
We have arequirement restrict stacking of HUs based on maximum height (i.e stacking of multiple HUs on a TU shouldnot exceed 2 Meter).
Is it possible to acheive this in EWM usning above 2 fields?

Material Determination use stock of discontinued material

I am trying to determine if there is a way in R/3 to have a material replace an older material but as sales orders are entered take into consideration any inventory that might still remain of the discontinued material. Here is an example.
1.) We have 15 EA of Material A in inventory in Plant 123
2.) We are going to discontinue Material A and replace with Material B in this plant
3.) VB11 Condition Records are setup for the A to B substitution for order entries
4.) Order for 20 EA for Material A comes in
I would like to see a requirement tp use the 15 from A that are still inventory and then place an order for the remaining 5 on the new Matl B (from Mfg or whomever provides).
Is this possible using the condition records for material determination and the follow-up material options on MRP4 view?

This is possible using standard SAP functionalities.
Now considrer a situation where you are creating VB11 record for material A(to be discontiniued) which is to be substituted by material B. And the need is to deplete the available stock of material A first and then start substituting it with material B.
In order to achieve this, while creating a record in VB11 firstly create a record for replacing mat A by mat A , then double click the record line that you have created, which will pop up a small window giving you options to enter mutiple alternatives apart from mat A. where you can you can enter material B as the second alternative/replacement after mat A.
The sequence of material is important to decide which material is considered as the replacement by the system.
In our case system will first replace mat A by mat A and search for stock availability, if sufficient stock or no stock available it will replace the original mat A with the alternative material entered in the VB11 record i.e. Mat B.
Another important thing to note while creating VB11 record is a check box available as "MRP Indiciator" now this indicator plays an important role while transferring requirement to MRP.
In our case we have Mat A which is being disontinued so we dont want the requirement for mat A to be transferred to MRP incase of shortage, instead we want the requirement for material B to be transferred for MRP.
In this case you need to check the MRP indicator box for Material B. if not checked the requirement for Mat A would be transferred to MRP.

currently there is no EWM-EM connection and Business Process Type available.
Only chance would be that you create the connction by yourself.
But this would require not only create a BPT but also coding for the connection to EM.

Which used iPhone (even discontinued) and how to check it for safety

I am happy with my 4s.
In Italy you can have officially unlocked iPhones and Vodafone gives me 2 Sims with same number (master/slave).
Now I have the slave in an WM HTC which I use as second telefone going in places like beach, or in unsafe places.
Of course the WM is not so pleasant to be used and I am planning to buy a low cost old iPhone to replace it.
Asking your suggestion: I wish to use it with iCloud with iCloud Mail and another IMAP provider, sync with Mountain Lion iTunes for Adress - Notes - Mail - Calendar - iMessage. No interest in Music and video but Streming Photo could be interesting.
How low can I go back ? Will 3 be enought or should I need to stay on 4 level ?
I have read that some unofficial unlock could not be easy to detect and thic could give sync problems in future: since I will probably buy it on eBay or similar place, which will be the best test to check the phone aginst jailbreak ?

The best test is don't buy it from ebay to begin with. Either buy one from someone you know personally and trust, or spend the money for a legitimate unlocked new phone.

Integration SCM (EWM) 7.01 to ERP ECC 6.0

Hello,
we are "trying" to integrate an SCM 7.0.1 to an ERP ECC 6.0.
Material master data and goods received deliveries will be transfered from ERP to SCM sucessfull,
but the quotation and the goods movement based on the purchase order at ERP does not word.
The system stops with an internal error :

If you look thru the Contribute forum you might find some helpful info - there is one where someone had some trouble with that getting Contribute CS4 working on Windows 8 but resolved the problem. You could even post your question there to see if a direct answer is provided.

Another thing you might do is download and install the trial and see if it works without issue for you. That should be done anyways to help avoid buying it before finding out it won't work for you.

Executing SCM transactions using /n prefix vs executing from your favorites

I am working on the U.S. Navy ERP project. We are using ECC 5.0 and SCM 5.10. I would like to know why when manually entering the transaction code in the command line from the main menu in SCM I have to prefix the transaction code with /N otherwise I get the error message Transaction does not exist. If I try to create a favorite manually using insert transaction and input the transaction code using the /n prefix I get the error message transaction does not exist. If I go to the SAP menu tree and find the transaction it is not listed with the /N prefix.Any explanation as to why SCM doesn't recognize the transaction when entered in the command line without the /N and doesn't recognize the transaction with the /N when manually entered as a favorite would be greatly appreciated. l

This is a good question and a basis expert may be in a position to explain more.
I understand that, in APO start screen since the transactions are not in the main SAP menu, we need to prefix the transaction with a /N ( for APO functionality related transactions) and also for other applications like EM, EWM, SNC etc.
Examples: /SAPAPO/SDP94
If we are at the main SAP menu, then we do not need to prefix the transaction with a /N.
Some of the basis related or generic transactions are placed on SAP Main menu.
Examples are as below:
SMQ1, SMQ2,SM37,SU01, SE38, S_AP9_75000094, LC10, ST06, SM50
For the above transactions you try, and you will notice that you do not require to prefix /N.
When we create the favorites , the transactions are placed on SAP main menu.
Therefore, we do not need to prefix /N.
