Use of Supply Chain Engineer

Hi,
What's the use of Supply Chain Engineer (Tcode:/SAPAPO/SCC07)? Does the APO implementation project really needs it?
And let me know in which case do we generally use it.
- Ram.

Hi Ram,
This is fully integrated APO component for creating models
which performs planning functions which covers network
chain, supplier, customer.
We can use this functionality to create & maintain models
in a network in a typical supply chain.   A model in turn can
link to various versions (both active and simulations).
We can also have an eye watch of supply chain elements
like various products, master data like lanes, quota, resources,
ppm etc.,
We can also use this tool to execute queries so that it comes
with information about individual data.

  • Product deletion using supply chain engineer

    Hi all,
we need to delete a large number of products in APO. One way  to do it is
    1. delete all dependencies (master and transaction data)
    2. set deletion flag (using massd)
    3. run the programme /SAPAPO/DELETE_PRODUCTS
i just want to know if there is any way to delete large number of products using supply chain engineer? i have deleted dependencies and has set deletion flag but my client is insisting on deletion using supply chain engineer (god knows why)
does anyone know if this is possible? if yes, then please let me know how it can be done.

    Hi ,
    Yes correct.
If client insists, you can at the most use the SCE to delete the products from work area and model.
However for permanenet deletion you need to follow the steps you have given correctly given( last 2 out of 3 and first step 1 is required before you want to delete from the model).
I hope this will help to clarify.

  • PDS are not displayed in supply chain model SCC07

    Hi,
Does anyone know if it is possible to add PDS to supply chain model (transaction SCC07)? currently i don't see this option (we are not using IPPE in the ECC).

    Hello,
You can not see PDS in SCC07. Note that PDS are not even part of the menu.
You can also see that the SAP Help does not mention PDS in the documentation of the Supply Chain Engineer (SCC07):

  • Launch Supply Chain Plan

    Hi All:
I am using Advanced Supply Chain Planning tool in conjunction with Oracle Process Manufacturing for material & resource level planning. As part of the process I did all the needed setups and got to the point of Running the Supply Chain Planning Process. However After I launch the process, the parent process has triggered a bunch of child concurrent requests in the background. And I have been stuck with the concurrent requests running forever in the last 8 hours without completion. The status is "normal" and "running" for all concurrent requests..
    Navigation:
    Advanced Supply Chain Planner
Navigate: Supply Chain Plan - Workbench
    Any idea why ?
    Thans
    Sandeep Penumalli

    Hi,
for what I saw many reasons can cause this kind of stuck.
    1) Check if there are some locks on the MSC tables, maybe is the reason why it does not go through.
Usually the concurrent (I suppose you are stuck at the memory based snapshot) creates a BIG log file. Check if the log file goes on.
    2) Once the Snapshot was incredibly slow due to some loop in the BOM. Since you are working on process manufacturing the loop should be in the recipe. You should see if there is a loop in the log.
    3) Stop the concurrent if he goes beyond any acceptable time and try to create a very small plan, with just few item, a week of planning time and one demand. Try to use some dummy supersimple data. If the plan goes fine it means that probably you have some issues on the data you feed the system. (i.e. Loop or too much things).
    4) I am not sure if this apply but maybe you have some sort of limitation on the maximum number of concurrent that can run simultaneously. We had something similar and if I well remember some concurrents where waiting for other to finish but the others could not start do to a limitation on the maximum concurrent. (check in sysadmin for this).
    Hope it helps

  • Supply Chain Planning

    Dears,
Any one has any document; rather than Oracle official docs, dealing with the supply chain planning not the traditional planning.
I deal with a situation, that is implementing oracle for an organization that has three separate inventory organizations; one for raw material, one for finished products and the last one is for the scrap.
From my own point of view the suitable implementation is use the supply chain planning. Please advice?
    Regards
    Servo7

    Dear Amr,
When dealing with Oracle concerning the planing process, we can use one of the following methods:
1- Traditional Planning (Forecast>MDS>MPS>MRP); this is the favor method when you have one organization setup in the system.
2- Oracle Supply Chain Planning method; this is used if you have more than one organization setup in the system; i.e. if you have distribution inventory organization, raw material inventory organization, and finished good inventory organization separates from each others.
    3- Advanced Supply Chain Planning.
My question is how to setup the second type (Supply Chain Planning)? , any body has an idea?

  • Supply chain modeling of subcontraction process using SNP

    Dear Experts,
I am in the phase of designing my  supply chain business process  in APO
    We have two plants
    Plant u2013 A (manufacturing )
    Plant u2013 B (distribution center)
    Subcontractors  - for Plant A
    Subcon-1
    Subcon-2
    Subcon-3
    Subcon-4
    Subcon-5
    Subcon-6
    Subcon-7
Demand planning /forecast is done on the basis of
    Customer
    Products
    And Plant
When forecast is done in demand planning an send to SNP , system must give planned order on the basis of  available capacity , low cost of production  of the my subcontractor  ,I believe I need to use SNP optimization
Does SNP Optimizer can serve my requirement
Also how do I need to define my subcontractor  either as DC location or just a MRP area
Please do not hesitate to ask more details if you are not clear my requirement
    Thanks & Regard
    Raj

    Hi Raju,
The Optimizer should serve your requirement as it considers the capacity constraints and can be used for finite planning. Regarding subcontracting location , you can map it as either a DC location or a Subcontractor location. Better way would be to map it as a subcontracting location. Mapping it as just MRP area would not serve as you want it to consider during the finite planning runs for optimizer.
Let me know if it helps

  • SNP resource overload alerts not appearing in Supply Chain Cockpit

    I am using APO 5.1.
We use APO SNP for capacity planning, and can see various capacity overload alerts in the alert monitor.
But even though the Supply Chain Cockpit is linked to the correct alert profile, we do not see these alerts attached to the respective objects in the Supply Chain Cockpit.
Any ideas on why this should be?...

    Hello,
If you want to use the Alert Monitor within the Supply Chain Cockpit (SCC) in SAP APO, you must assign application-specific alert profiles to your SCC user profile. In the upper right area of the SCC, you can see the existing alerts for the applications.

  • Supply Chain Visibilty

    Dear Colleagues;
Reaching out to supply chain professionals for a general question on visibility.
SAP has provided for basic functions ofASN and confirmations in procurement from the vendors to provide information on the purchase order line.  What are others doing regarding communication during shipment from vendor, and when the shipment is dropped in the yard?  Are you using SAP in any way? i.e once the vendor has shipped say by boat or train, how is the data being captured, if at all.
Has anyone configured additional confirmation types to 'track' this movment for visibility purposes, or has other functionality been developed/deployed to assist in the supply visibility process within SAP?  Again, other types from a visibilty point of view.  If you have configured custom types, are they relevant for MRP for example? Or for reporting strictly...?  Etc...
Any insights into what others are doing is truly appreciated!

    Hi Jeff,
I worked on this scenario in an automobile industry, the requirement was same
When the vendor sends the shipment SAP should be able to track it and consider stock in transit for MRP
Two options were evaluated 1) SRM SUS ( Supplier self service) (2) Developing the Enterprise portal and interfacing to SAP
Client opted for second, using netweaver component of SAP, supplier was given access to update shipping data on portal
Interface use to create an Inbound delivery with reference to the shipment data, once inbound delivery in created MRP can take into
account it as stock in transit.
The easy option would be to take shipment data and let the Purchasing create IBD manually if Portal or SUS are out of reach
    Thanks

  • Implementing Finanacial Supply Chain Management - Collections Managment

    Dear all
We are in the process of Implementing Financial Supply Chain Management - Collections Management. We are also looking at business content in BI 7.0 as reporting solution.
While 0CLM_MC1 and 0CLM_MC2 are providing most of the data related to call worklist (like amount due, amount disputed, amount promised, dunning level etc etc) , an important piece of information that is crucial for debt reviews which is the text information stored in promise to pay and customer contact is missing.
Is there any way to upload this information (Long Text)  is BI.
    Thanks & Regards
    Sachchida Nand Dubey

    Hi,
U can go for BDC to upload ..
    i.e.
    'GUI_UPLOAD'
In general BDC and BAPI's are used to upload the data...mainly BAPI s are used to upload the bulk data...
if it screen flow then go for BDC upload...otherwise go for the BAPIs FM's
