Use of Teams Folders?

Hello,
Can someone confirm the proper use of "Team" folders in BPC?  My customer would like to use a Team Folder concept to allow power users to create and store standard reports for their individual teams.  So under each folder, reports pertaining directly to that Team would exist, and one of the Team members would be able to change/upload new reports for that team.
Is this a proper and recommended use of Team Folders?
Thanks for all help,
Valerie Dixon

Each Team in security is provided with a Team folder.  Each User in the team will have access to the folder.  Access to the content in the folder is managed by security tasks.  So if you create a team and store templates for the team, those assigned have access to the team folder and possibly data manager packages, depending on security rights.  In additoin you may select 1 or more team leaders to manage the content as well.
So, to your question, I think that what you describe is correct and how the team folders are used by most implementations.  Just remember, they still have access to th ecompany folders as well.
Hope this helps.

    Hi,
We cannot use robocopy to folders newer than a certain date, the /MAXAGE option is only used to copy files. We could use PowerShell command to copy folders newer than X days.
    Get-ChildItem <source folder> -Recurse | where {$_.PSIsContainer -eq "ture" -and $_.LastWriteTime -gt ($(Get-Date).Adddays(-X))} | foreach {copy $_.FullName <detination folder> }

Thanks. I did so. Using this I can see the OrgUnit. However, this is the OrgUnit of MSS user. It remains same through out the program. It is unlike pernr which changes as the user clicks on different Employees.
My exact requirement is as below:
User will click on Employee Selection drop down box. After that he will select "Employees from Organizational Structure". Here organization structure will be displayed. Now the user will expand Org Structure. I want to know the Org Unit of different Organization as the user will go on expanding the Org Structure using the buttons

  • Using NIC Teaming and a virtual switch for Windows Server 2012 host networking and Hyper-V.

Using NIC Teaming and a virtual switch for Windows Server 2012 host networking!
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mOuoIWzmdE
Hi thanks for reading. Now I may well have my terminology incorrect here so I will try to explain  as best I can and apologies from the start.
    It’s a bit of both Hyper-v and Server 2012R2.
I am setting up a lab with Server 2012 R2. I have several physical network cards that I have teamed called “HostSwitchTeam” from those I have made several Virtual Network Adaptors such as below
    examples.
New-VMSwitch "MgmtSwitch" -MinimumBandwidthMode weight -NetAdaptername "HostSwitchTeam" -AllowManagement $false
Add-VMNetworkAdapter -ManagementOS -Name "Vswitch" -SwitchName "MgmtSwitch"
Add-VMNetworkAdapter -ManagementOS -Name "Cluster" -SwitchName "MgmtSwitch"
When I install Hyper-V and it comes to adding a virtual switch during installation it only shows the individual physical network cards and the
HostSwitchTeam for selection.  When installed it shows the Microsoft Network Multiplexor Driver as the only option.
Is this correct or how does one use the Vswitch made above and incorporate into the Hyper-V so a weight can be put against it.
Still trying to get my head around Vswitches,VMNetworkadapters etc so somewhat confused as to the way forward at this time so I may have missed the plot altogether!
Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi P.J.E,
    >>I have teams so a bit confused as to the adapter bindings and if the teams need to be added or just the vEthernet Nics?.
    Nic 1,2
    HostVMSwitchTeam
    Nic 3,4,5
             HostMgmtSwitchTeam
    >>The adapter Binding settings are:
    HostMgmtSwitchTeam
    V-Curric
    Nic 3
    Nic 4
    Nic 5
    V-Livemigration
    HostVMSwitch
    Nic 1
    Nic 2
    V-iSCSI
    V-HeartBeat
Based on my understanding of the description , "HostMgmtSwitchTeam and
HostVMSwitch " are teamed NIC .
You can think of them as two physical NICs (do not use NIC 1,2,3,4,5 any more , there are just two NICs "HostMgmtSwitchTeam and
    HostVMSwitch").
    V-Curric,
    V-Livemigration , V-iSCSI ,
V-HeartBeat are just VNICs of host  (you can change their name then check if the virtual switch name will be changed )

  • Facebook notifications while using seperate email folders?

I don't use the primary message folder because I like my emails seperate. When I get a Facebook notification via email, it would typically be intercepted by the FB app and would go to the location on the FB app (Like messages or notifications). This doesn't happen anymore when I hid the primary message folder and only used the individual email folders. Is there any way to fix this? It annoys the fact that I can't just quickly click on the folder and see what's up. Now I have to go to the Facebook app itself and look there.
    Thanks!

  • IPad not using Sent, Trash folders of IMAP server

The iPad 1 is running iOS 5.1.1.  I have created an IMAP mail account and in Mailbox Behaviors have mapped Drafts on the iPad to Entwürfe on the server, Sent on the iPad to Gesendete Objekte on the server, and Deleted on the iPad to Papierkorb on the server.  When I send mail from this account it does not appear in Sent.  Using a Web mail client I can verify that it does not appear in Gesendete Objekte either.  I have the same problem when I delete mail from this account on the iPad:  the mail does not appear in Trash (on the iPad) or Papierkorb (on the server).
I have setup the account on an iPhone 4S, and the same problems occur there.  On an MacBook Pro running OS X 10.7.4 I have also setup an IMAP account for the same server and have performed tha same mapping of the Mail folders to the server's.  There, everything works as expected.  When I send a mail from that account on the Mac, it appears in Sent, Gesendete Objekte and in Sent on the iPad and iPhone.  Similarly, when a mail is deleted from the account on the Mac, it appears in Trash, Papierkorb, and Trash on the two iOS devices.
Does anybody have a solution to this problem?  It's almost as if there's option missing in iOS 5 to "save on server"; they're there in Mail on the Mac.
    Regards,
    Richard

OK, I have found the problem.  One of the mail accounts, for vtx.ch (formerly tiscali.ch), was configured to get mail from vtx's POP server, but to send it from my domain's SMTP server.  For some reason, mail that was sent from my domain's mail server was being put in the local Sent folder of the vtx account.  The same was true of Trash, Junk, and Drafts.  I was able to fix this by deleting the vtx POP account and creating an IMAP account instead.  I could map the folders of the vtx IMAP server to the right ones on the iPad and specify my domain's SMTP server for outgoing mail.  Everything now works as expected.  In particular, if I forward a mail from the vtx Inbox, it is sent using my domain's SMTP server, but appears in the Sent folder of the vtx account, while doing the same thing with a mail in the Inbox of the account corresponding to my domain's email server causes the mail to appear in its Sent folder.
I suspect this is a bug due to an oversight on Apple's part, as usually every email service has its own servers.  The vtx SMTP server doesn't allow me to send mail from outside the vtx domain, i.e., I can only send mail from its Webmail interface using vtx's SMTP server.  That's why I have to use another SMTP server to send from outside vtx.

    Richard

  • Using Multiple-level folders in lightroom import

Let's say I want to import images into the following directory structure  "USA\New York"  where "USA" and therefore "New York" does not exist.   I cannot use "Into Subfolder" as multilevel directories can not be entered here.
So I need to create the USA folder first and then import into "New York" ( switch lightroom will automatically create if it doesn't exist).
To create the "USA" folder I can click here:
This displays a windows dialog to create the new "USA" folder
After clicking on Select Folder we return to Lightroom but newly created and selected folder does not appear in the destination folder list:
The only way I can figure out how to add the USA folder is to exist Import and get into it again.
Once in appears in the list I can create the New York folder during the import by adding it here:
Why do I have exit the import dialog and start it again to see the "USA" folder, especially when it was selected and passed back to Lightroom ?
Is there way to refresh the folder list in the destination list without exiting Import ?
For me it makes no sense to add the ability to create a folder and then Lightroom doesn't use it.
    Regards,
    Gary

I think the Create New Folder button is designed for the folder the images are to be stored in, which in your case will be a sub-folder. So I guess the parent folder must already exist.
For example I keep all my photos under the year they were taken so it is then easy to create new sub-folders.

  • BPC - Dimension Owner - How to use a Team as a dimension owner

    BPC 7.0 MS
I have a dimension with an OWNER property.  I can define the OWNER property for a dimension member to be a User by using the syntax of:
    <domain name>\<username>
for example, we have an Active Directory domain of CORP and a username of L123456.  I can use
    CORP\L123456
as the OWNER property value and the dimension with process successfully.
I have added a Team in BPC, for example called MyTeam.  I try to set the OWNER for a dimension member to
    MyTeam
and when I process the dimension I get the error that:
"Invalid user or team names found in the OWNER property"
    I also tried these syntaxes:
    BPC\MyTeam
    BPC \MyTeam
These do not work either.  Does anyone know the correct syntax to get this to process properly?

    Carlos,
Thank you for the reply.  That solved my problem.  I used MyTeam enclosed by square brackets
as the value in the OWNER property of the dimension and the dimension processed successfully.
    Thanks.

If you are the only user of your system you may be able to do this fairly easily.  If there is more than one account it still may be be possible but there's a potential "gotcha".
If you intend to keep your home dir on a separate drive from your boot ssd, depending on how many of your own apps and data you intend to put on the ssd for faster access you really only need a 60GB to 120GB ssd.  Assume the OS itself will need up to about 25GB of that ssd.
Assuming your are the only user then install the new OS on the ssd and create an account with the same account name of the one you had for the original system.  Once that is up and running you can use the standard procedures to move an account to another drive.  In other words use the Account system preferences to modify the account (account's Advanced Options) home dir info to point to your old home dir on the other drive.  In this case you don't have any current home dir to actually move since you intend to use your old one on your other drive.  Now reboot.  Hopefully your reboot will come up using your old home dir.
The "gotcha" here is the userid.  If you are the only user it should remain 501.  So doing what I suggest above hopefully will work -- "hopefully" in that it has to be assumed your old account also had userid 501.  With more than one account, if your old account wasn't 501 then I think you are in for ownership problems.
If you try this don't even attempt this without full backups of your original home disk(s).  Best you create a bootable backup of your newly created ssd too so you don't have to reinstall and you can revert it from the backup if something goes wrong.  Doing it this way doesn't write to new ssd cells if you don't have to (I am always concerend about this with ssd's even with possible TRIM or garbage collection).

  • Poor Performance over Converged Networks using LBFO Team

    Hi,
I have  built a Hyper-v 2012 R2 cluster with converged networking and correct logical networks.
However, I notice that I am not able to utilise more than apprx 1gb over the converged network for live migration, cluster, management etc even though they have a total of 8 x 1gb physical adapters available (switch independant, dynamic load balancing).
    e.g
    Hyper-v host1 and hyper-v host2 have 4 x 1gb pNics connected to switch1 and 4x1gb pNics connected to switch2. Switch1 and switch2 has a portchannel configured between them.
I can see if I carry out a file copy between Hyper-v host1 and Hyper-v host2 (both configured exactly the same) then the Management, Live-Migration and Cluster vNics on the host use approx 300mbps on each vNic during the copy but never get anywhere near
their full utilization (here I would be expecting to see approximately the total of the team available bandwidth which is 8gbps as there is no other traffic using these networks).
Is it because the host vNICs cannot use vRSS (VMQ)? Although I struggle to see this as the issue because I don't see any CPU cores maxing out during the copy! Or maybe someone could recommend anything else to check?
    Microsoft Partner

Without doing a case study on your environment, it would be pretty much impossible to give you a truly correct answer on what you should do.
In the generic sense, using at least partial convergence is usually in your best interests. If you have a completely unconverged environment, then it is absolutely guaranteed that any given adapter will only have a single gigabit pipe to work with no matter
what. Aidan's example of dual concurrent Live Migrations is good, but it's only one of a nearly infinite set of possibilities. As another example, let's say that you start a hypervisor-level over-the-network backup and at the same time you copy an ISO file
from a remote file server into the management operating system. In an unconverged network, they'll both be fighting for attention from one adapter. If you have 8 total adapters, you can almost guarantee that at least one of the other 7 is sitting idle -- and
there's nothing you can do about it.
If you're converged (dependent upon setup), then you have a pretty good chance that those activities will be separated across physical adapters. Extrapolate those examples to the management OS and a stack of virtual machines, all cumulatively involved in
dozens or hundreds of individual transmissions, and you see pretty quickly that convergence gives you the greatest capability for utilization of available resources. It's like when the world went from single- to dual-core computers. A dual-core system isn't
twice as fast as its single-core counterpart. Its operating system's thread scheduler just has two places to run threads instead of one. But, the rule of one thread per core still applies. The name of the game is concurrency, not aggregation.
Again, that's in the generic sense. When you get into trying to tap the power of SMB Multichannel, that changes the equation. That's where the case study picks up.

  • Can you use NIC Teaming for Replica Traffic in a Hyper-V 2012 R2 Cluster

We are in the process of setting up a two node 2012 R2 Hyper-V Cluster and will be using the Replica feature to make copies of some of the hosted VM's to an off-site, standalone Hyper-V server.
We have planned to use two physical NIC's in an LBFO Team on the Cluster Nodes to use for the Replica traffic but wanted to confirm that this is supported before we continue?
    Cheers for now
    Russell

    Sam,
Thanks for the prompt response, presumably the same is true of the other types of cluster traffic (Live Migration, Management, etc.)
    Cheers for now
    Russell
    Yep.
In our practice we actually use converged networking, which basically NIC-teams all physical NICs into one pipe (switch independent/dynamic/active-active), on top of which we provision vNICs for the parent partition (host OS), as well as guest VMs.

  • Best way to organize/use multiple Music folders

I have a situation where I want to keep all of my classical music separate from the rest of my music. I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion as to the best way to go about doing this. The way I have done it is this: I created a new user account on my computer, and while logged into that account, I import all of my classical music into iTunes. This creates a separate music folder in the new separate account. Then, in order to access that music from my primary account, I enabled myself to access that folder by giving myself permissions. Is this the best way to go about this? Is there a way to create separate iTunes music folders from within the same user account? If not, is the way that I am sharing the best way to go about it? Would it be better to copy the music folder (or drag it) to the public folder, or shared folder?
Thanks for the input in advance.

    teedoff087,
I've used (and use) the smart playlist option for many things. I would use it in this case, but I have a ton of classical music and I don't want to fill my main music library list with so much classical music. I sometimes listen to music straight from the main music library, and then there is the problem of it playing a rock song and then a classical, etc. Also, it becomes much more difficult to navigate through my main library when there is so much more content in it. I know with the use of smart lists, you can really create well organized music sub libraries, and I do use this feature often. I use it in my non classical library, as well as my separate classical one. I create lists for the different composers, or the era, such as Baroque, Romantic, Classical, etc. Also, Sonatas, Concertos, etc, and even musical instrument. Anyway, I guess my point is that it is just easier to keep the classical music separate. I had all of my music integrated on my last computer, and was often frustrated by it.
Thanks for the suggestion though. Any other thoughts you might have on the topic would be welcome and appreciated.

  • Exchange 2013 Mailbox Using 2010 Public Folders

Firstly, we will not be migrating completely to Exchange 2013 public folders for quite a while.  Our first Ex2013 server is in a small branch office and won't be appropriate to hose the PF's for the entire company.  Our environment consists of
8 Ex2010 servers and now the one Ex2013.  I setup a test mailbox on the 2013 server and it access a 2010 PF database on another server just fine.  How is that server discovered, and can we specify which one it uses?  I understand the way 2013
public folders are moving but is there a downside to leaving our configuration this way for a long period of time?

Yes, the procedure should be followed to move mailbox first. Once you have successfully moved all the mailbox to new exchange server, you can migrate public folder after that.
You can also checekout this thread related to public folder migration from exchange 2010 to 2013 :
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/b7a35a45-9b74-4910-9dc3-c997bc71f03f/migration-form-exchange2010-to-exchange2013?forum=exchangesvrdeploy
Further, for a better convenience, you can also take a look at this application (http://www.exchangemailboxmigration.com/) which would be a good approach while migrating mailboxes and public folders
between two exchange server. It ensures about the data security and email contents during the completion of entire migration process.

  • A simple question: Using the user-folders differently

    Hello,
I'm still getting started with my mac, that's why I have a pretty basic question:
There are these user-folders on every mac: Documents, Music, Pictures etc.
But since I sort my photos and videos by date, I often have pictures and videos in one single folder and don't want to seperate them in these user-folders pictures and movies.
That's why I'd like to create a new folder next to Documents, Music... called "Photo_Video" (or something like that) where I can put all my photos and videos in.
So, my first (stupid) question: Is it ok to create a new folder in /Users/NAME/_____ ? I'm asking this because the existing folders seem to be kind of special (system folders?). Sorry about this, but I want to get everything right.
My second question: Is there a downside of NOT using "Movies" and "Pictures" for my media? I've heard somewhere that these folders are in some way protected against external usage.
    Thank you!
    -Lemon17.

Yes, you can create folders inside your Home. The folders there are not terribly special, but the Finder does treat them as such by putting that badge on the folders.
If you have multiple users and want to keep the folders private, you'll need to change the user permissions on the folders you create. When you create a new folder, it inherits the permissions of the enclosing folder. Your Home is set to allow other users to see directly inside so that they can see your Public folder and so the Web server can see into the Sites folder.  Because of that, the new folder you create will allow others to see inside of it.
To change the permissions, select the new Folder and Get Info on it. The info window will open and the permissions are at the bottom. The list of permissions will have you as the owner and you will have read/write access. It will also have a group (I think Staff), and Everyone. Select any Groups (icon with two silhouettes) and delete them (- button). For Everyone, set it to No Access. If you are the only user and you don't share out folders over the network, then it isn't likely necessary to change the permissions.
I can't think of a downside of using other folders. The potential downside of not using iPhoto is you won't have the media browser to select photos from. But, that's not a really big deal if you can easily identify your photos in the file structure.
