Use of "User Role" tab in T.Code - VL10G
Hi,
Can anyone help me in providing more information or document on "User Role" tab in T.Code-VL10G.
Rahul
This controls what type of documents are processed (orders vs purchase orders) and in what manner (i.e. actually execute delivery or just list delivery relevant items). Some key fields to note: Role, F. code profile, Dlv creation profile.

End User Roles Tab: Link to security roles on ECC?
Hi-
There is a configurable value in the End User Roles tab where you can populate Roles. However when you select the values they only pull in roles loaded on the SolMan system. How can I access roles in target systems, so they can be mapped to my process hierarchy?Hi
what do u mean by target systems... satellites systems.......i think you are confused somehow
this tab is used for learning map user roles
check this out and read it completely
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm32/helpdata/en/ee/4344ed87a24d8da937c565bf572408/frameset.htm
Learning map use
You want to send the learning map to a group of users with the same business role, e.g. to all accountants in your company, or to the purchasing department. You copy existing business roles in the Solution Manager, or create new ones.
Hpoe it clarifies ur doubt

VL10D user role tab is greyed out
Can someone please help me.
I am using Tcode and the "User role" tab is greyed , means I cant pick any thing. Is there any place in the configuration where I can go and make changes to the tcode.
Thanks,
SaharHi,
To change the profile go to "SPRO --> Logistics Execution --> Shipping --> Worklist --> Configure Lst profile"
To assign this profile to Transaction go to "VL10CUV"

VL10 batch doesn't allow user role maintenance
A batch job to create deliveries is desired.
A user role was created using VL10CUA (copied from 5001).
Access VL10G to create a variant, but the User Role tab is completely display only.
According to OSS note 310022, step 2 indicates that user role can be maintained for background processing.
Currently using ECC 5.0. Why is the user role tab display only? What changes are necessary to create a variant using the new user role?
I also looked at the screen painter and the fields were "Possible" so that doesn't answer why they are display only when using VL10G.
Regards,
BelaIn VL10CUA, create a new user role from 5001 and click on Chg. Attributes and change F code to 5001.
Then assign the user role in VL10CUV to VL10 Scenario.
This will default the user role in VL10. Save the variant and then run VL10BATCH for the variant. -
VL10 User Role Tracking
Hi Gurus,
In VL10 t-code we have 6 tab pages in the initial screen.
Last one is "User Role". in this we will have several roles.
Assume that we used user role 1 and created deliveries. How to track those deliveries in LIKP or LIPS tables. Where in sap tables i can find the role used to create respective deliveries.
Actually i am planning to customize one user role and add it to VL10, so i need to track in the code, if user role = 2 then only make changes....
else come out of the changes;
kindly suggest me the table and field names to track deliveries based on user roles of VL10 t-code.
Please help me on this as it is very urgent;
thanks in advance
SunilHi Sunil,
Wondering if you ever found a solution for this problem. Becos, I am also in a similar situation and your experience would be of great help if you share it.
Advance Thanks,

VL10D - Data selection User Role
Hi,
i've used the Tcode VL10D and the "User role" tab is greyed.
How can i select the Data selection (ex. flag "with delivery")?
How can i mantain VL10CUA and VL10CUV?
Thank you.
AntonioHello Antonio,
Can you check in transaction VL10CU, on the second record "Purchase Orders", the field "Allow Assignment" must be checked in order to have the Role and Scenario editable.
Regarding the Scenario field, please see below which you may find useful:
You can edit a user-specific delivery scenario with a user-specific
list profile by choosing Outbound Delivery -> Create -> Collective
Processing of Documents due for Delivery -> User-Specific Delivery
Scenario. You can define user-specific values in user parameters
LE_VL10_SZENARIO and LE_VL10_LISTPROFIL. If no default scenario has
been specified, the sales order scenario appears. If a default
scenario has been specified, but no default list profile was
specified, the system uses the list profile that is assigned to the
default scenario. If there is no such assignment, the system uses
the "Deliver Sales Orders" (0001) list profile.
Transactions VL10A, VL10B, VL10C, VL10D, VL10E, VL10F, VL10G,
VL10H and VL10I refer directly to the delivery scenarios that are
predefined by the system. You can also access these transactions via
the shipping menu. Assignment of a list profile for these scenarios
is identical for all users and can be set in Customizing. The list
profile contains detailed information about processing the delivery
list.
Maintain the user parameters LE_VL10_UPG_NOMSG, LE_VL10_SZENARIO and
LE_VL10_LISTPROFIL with the options described above (System -> User
profile -> Own data; Parameters).
Kind regards

Paging support in User Role API - OPSS
Hi All,
We use the User Role API to fetch the users from OID, and get into trouble when the super user is restricted for max size limit (response size), and hence would like to go via the paging options in the API. Now, the code is modified to use the SearchParameters.setPageSize(20000), and then tried to fetch the users via the IdentityStore.searchUsers() calll which returns a SearchResponse of max 20k, and the hasNext() becomes false after we reach the 20k. We don't see any way to iterate or call the searchUsers() in such a way that paging option is used?
Any pointers will be appreciable.
Regards,
VenkatAs per Vinoth Janakiram of dev, i should use the pagesize less than the max limit for an user.
trying to set the pagesize as 500 and trying it out. Will post the outcome.

Venkat -
How to add a BSP application to user role
What is the procedure to add a custom 'Zbsp' BSP application to the user role in PFCG Transaction code ?
When we add a transaction or report. it is working fine.
Please Suggest to add BSP application by defining required parametersHi Raja,
The BSP application which i have created used to access a custom based abap program by means of Ztransaction or Z internet service.
In SRM, I want to assign this BSP application page which has link to the abap program to SUS suppliers portal page . i.e add to the particular user role.
When i try to add this application to the user role in PFCG , it asks for the parameters action-id menu no and controller name.
These are all used in the standard BSP appliaction say SRMSUS bsp application..
Suggest what values should i give it to access this BSP application to the particular user role..
If you have questions in my requirement, do ask me.
Thanks in advance -
Hi,
Suddenly I got this error in SCVMM 2012-R2 Roll-up 1:
When working with User-Roles (create/update) or assigning a Cloud :
"VMM encountered a critical exception and created an exception report....
search user forums for well-known failure root causes for self-help" (how sweet)... (if it's "well known", why not coding the exception handling correctly?)
The relevant part of the report might be this:
"SCVMM Version=3.2.7620.0
SCVMM flavor=C-buddy-RTL-AMD64
Default Assembly Version=3.2.7620.0
Executable Name=vmmservice.exe
Executable Version=3.2.7510.0
Base Exception Target Site=140717670746840
Base Exception Assembly name=System.Data.dll
Base Exception Method Name=System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError
Exception Message=Unable to connect to the VMM database because of a general database failure.
Ensure that the SQL Server is running and configured correctly, then try the operation again."
(side question: what does this mean: "Ensure that the SQL Server is ... configured correctly"?
I can say that :
SQL is configured by the book, that all services are running (did a reboot of VMM server too) and that all other VMM functions work OK. I don't believe that SQL is only used for user-roles...
Acting as Domain admin and VMM admin.
All updates are installed.
Please find the report @the and and a screen shot attached.
Thanks for any help.

Thomas.I (quite honestly) am one of those folks that generally do not read the KB articles associated with a patch or UR or SP - as you don't expect details like have been put into this particular one.
But as Kristian pointed out - within that KB article is the SQL script that modifies / updates this SQL Stored Procedure.
http://blogs.technet.com/b/scvmm/archive/2014/01/29/how-to-update-scvmm-2012-r2-to-update-rollup-1.aspx
Needless to say, the feedback was given to MSFT that folks would overlook that this SQL script needed to be run. So we are just trying to help out.

No "Admin Roles" or "Capabilities" on the Create User - Security tab
I have created some Admin roles with full Capabilities for an Organisation (other than Top).
However, when I login as "Configurator", and attempt to create a user under the "Accounts" tab, I cannot see any of the "Admin Roles" created under the "Security" tab. In fact, the "Admin Roles" or "Capabilities" list boxes somehow disappear altogether.
Does anyone know what can cause the "Admin Roles" and "Capabililties" list boxes to disappear from this tab?Are you using IDM version 7.0 and above? If so, it is a security feature introduced by Sun.
An administrator can assign an admin-role to a user only when he/she is designated to be the "assigner" of that role. Here's how you do it:
Go to Security -> Admin Roles tab in the admin console, and click on the role to be assigned
In the form that opens up, click "Add from Search" in the general tab and search/add the desired account.
You would expect configurator to be a default assigner to any admin-role, but even this account needs to be configured to be the assigner for each admin-role.
Hope this helps.

The security code is the 3 or 4 digit code on your credit card, it's quite often on the back of the card on the signature strip, though on some cards it's on the front : credit card security code. -
How to use the user and role API's and where to use it
Hi All,
I have configured SSO for my UCM11g. Now my application authenticates through the Oracle SSO login page. Currently it is working with SQL authenticator.
Now, i have to use LDAP authenticator. when i will configure the LDAP authenticator, i have to use the user and role API's to fetch the user profile information from LDAP. i have got the API's which will be used to fetch the respected information, but i am not getting as where i will write those java programs and how this API will be used in my application. what settings i need to do on it so that application uses the API's. ?
Please can anyone help me on this.
thanks,
SaurabhHi, Mithu,
Thanks a lot for your help in advance.
I have carefully read the document: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/6b66d7ea-0c01-0010-14af-b3ee523210b5.
Now, I think I have to set the processor of every actions in every process if I use the GP for processing the workflow.
I am better to hope that I can set the processor to the role for every actions in every process in the runtime through get the organizational structure in the WDA(webdynpro for java or webdynpro for java). Thus, the customer don't set the processor to the role for every action in every process when runing in the GP. I don't know how to do this.
Whether the function is not supported in the GP? If so, I have to config two organizational structure: in the R/3 and in the Portal. I don't think our customer don't receipt this solution.
Do you give me some hints? Thanks a lot. My email: [email protected]
Thanks again.
Thanks & Regards,

¿How to use user-roles in Ironport WSA (7.6) using ACS 4.1?
Hello,
I want to give a client access to a S370 WSA quarantine and I am using an ACS 4.1 for external authentication; that would be used for administrators and for the client access (non-administration access).
I have created a user-role in the WSA that has access to the quarantine I want, but I need the user to be in the ACS. I created the user in ACS but my question is, what should I configure or change in the ACS in order for the WSA to recognize the user with the specific role I created and not like an administrator role.
Thanks for your help!
SergioHi,
This can be done by configuring the Radius Class attribute on the ACS and mapping it with the user roles on the WSA.
"To map RADIUS users to different Web Security appliance user role types, you assign a role type, such
as Administrator and Operator, to a RADIUS CLASS attribute. Mapping different role types lets you
specify the authorization level for each RADIUS user."
Please go to Page 26-12 of the WSA user guide http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/security/wsa/wsa7-5/user_guide/WSA_7-5-0_UserGuide.pdf for more information under the section "Using External Authentication".

Kush
