I am not an expert with these WSDL, but I have been working with these for the past 2-3months. With this exposure I can tell you the following.
In wsdl:binding element , wsdl is nothing but namespace its importance is same as in other xml files.
binding, Its inside this binding tag usually we specify wat are the operations supported by this wsdl.
I hope my explanation is clear, if not pls revert back. I would be pleased to help you.

  • SOAP in XI: message use="encoded" and binding/@style="rpc"

    Hi
    Hope somebody who is familiar with XIs SOAP implementation could give the answer for my questions. Problem is that the SOAP server is not working but I am afraid that the reasons are not really simple.
    In our company we have to provide some SOAP services. I have entered as much as I could in IR ... including a simple scenario. Then imported the scenario to ID and the wizard created a number of agreements and determinations...
    As I need to describe the service to external parties, then I used IDs Web Service definition tool to generate the WSDL.
    But as the external messaging framework (for us a preprogrammed SOAP client) is fixed, I noticed that there are some differences that might matter.
    XI generated WSDL where SOAP binding has
    wsdl:binding/soap:binding/@style="document" but I would need it to be "rpc"
    And the second thing is that in binding message bodies have attribute @use="literal" but as the messages should have several parts then it should be "encoded" (and encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"
    also is needed then).
    Could somebody explain if these may be the reasons why the soap server does not work. And if there is a way to define soap interface so that it would have above mentioned properties as needed.
    A easy question also... I would need for a method to have an empty message... inside soap body there should be just a tag with the message name and no content. But I can not figure out how to create a message type with no datatype.
    Thanks for any input!

    Hi, Stefan
    Thanks for the answer. To clear my questions: we want to deploy XI as the SOAP server (sry I have not figured out if it is a sender or receiver channel by name - all this inbound-outbound naming in XI is quite complex). Our SOAP server/XI is actually  just one part of a big SOAP network and MAFIA it uses rpc styled SOAP messages.
    The note is really useful, but still it does not give any hint how to make a RPC styled SOAP interface. So the problem is still up for me. As I am not very familiar with WSDL bindings and SOAP... for the message it self, is there any difference as for the RPC vs DOCUMENT style is discussed? Is it possible that the physical structure of a SOAP envelope could be the same?
    And the second question: is there a way in IR to define several parts for a message. Something like:
    <message name="isiku_andmed">
      <part name="paring" type="tns:isiku_andmed_paring" />
      <part name="keha" type="tns:isiku_andmed_keha" />
    </message>

  • How to use this .WSDL file

    Hello,
    I was given this .WSDL file and asked to import it into PI. It's a very simple operation. From ECC  we will send some user data in the header and some Ticket data in the body. It is forwarded by PI to 3rd party ticket system. The result sent back is the ticket ID that is created in ticket system.
    However i'm facing difficulties with this. Please see actions i've done below.

    What i wanted to do was to create a service interface in PI that could be used in ECC to create a proxy of. The service interface needs to use the HRWheader and Ticket SoapIn combined. However when I import the .WSDL in an external definition i see three separate messages (header, soapin, soapout) and there is no way i can use the two messages in one SI.
    I also tried importing the .WSDL using "do not extract" but that doesn't help either.
    I also tried importing the .WSDL file as a Service Interface directly and it neatly creates a synchronous interfaces with the soapin as request and soapout as response, but it still doesn't show the header. If i check the WSDL tab for my newly created interface i also miss the reference to the Header message.
    So my question is for some help and what would be the best way to handle this.

    In Web Dynpro ABAP there is nothing special about calling a web service. Unlike WD Java, there are not dedicated model object types in WD ABAP. WD ABAP simply has the ability to interact with other ABAP development object types. You can call function modules, ABAP classes, even modules in old dynpro apps.
    So calling the webservice from ABAP therefore is just the process of generating the ABAP Proxy Class. This is the same process regardless of if you want to use this proxy class from WDA or any other type of ABAP development object. You can then call the proxy class from WDA just like any other type of ABAP class. There is a service wizard option in later support package levels that includes an option for ABAP Proxy classes - although it doesn't generate the proxy class it just generates the code and context for the call to an already existing proxy class. The service wizards in WD ABAP are not required however. They are just shortcut code generators and often can't even generate a complete context for a complex web service proxy - so expect to do some manual adjustment after running the wizard.

  • How to use a WSDL file to call webservice? Help!

    Hi Experts,
         I have exposed a SAP function module as webservice using the
         Utilities -> More Utilities -> Create Web Service -> From Function module
         What does this step actually does? Does it create some kind of web application like BSP for the function module in the background?
         After creating the web service I have released the service definition for the SOAP runtime using the transaction WSCONFIG.
        Finally I have generated the WDSL file ofr the webservice using WSADMIN transaction.
        After this how will my third party application like Java will use the WSDL? Will I need any connector software to be installed in Java side.
        How exactly will java call my webservice using WSDL?
        What actually happens or what is the message flow when java application calls by webservice?
        Kindly help.
    Thanks
    Gopal

    Hi, Your solution should be correct and it's a quite common approach for Login authentication.Informatica's webservice provider also need 2 steps for calling its webservice1. Getting the session ID using username and password 2. Use the session ID to call any active operation 3. Use the session ID to log out if webservice do not have any time out settings for each session. SOAP standard is listed in the WSDL of saleforce webservice. It affects if you cannot find/call any operation in PowerCenter level. My lastest information is for PWC 9.1 version only, I don't know if they have enhanced this function in 9.5. If you can call the operation, you can just put it (SOAP standard) way first. Regards,Felix

  • Using custom wsdl to esb routing service node

    Hi,
    I am working on a ESB flow, The entire flow works with ESB generated WSDLs. But, now, I want to use our own WSDL files, so I configured the starting Routing Service node to use existing WSDL.
    To do this, I made the following changes.
    Initially I was feeding XML file throug a File Reader node, and it was easy to test. Now, since I am working with our own WSDL, I removed File Reader node and created another Routing Service node with uses our custom WSDL file. I am now testing the flow by using OC4J web services feature. It provided me a web based form where in I can populate/feed values in. When I do this, I get an error like below:
    java.security.PrivilegedActionException: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Message send failed: Software caused connection abort: connect
    Does anybody know how to fix this?
    Thanks,

    sorry your '"mysoapaction"' funda didnt work....

    Output file: FullName,address.
    using BPM.
    After doing the sceanrio i have generated the wsdl file. I have tested the wsdl file using infopath.It is working fine.
    Then i have done anothe scenario like File_webservice_File sceanrio. In this scenario, i have used the wsdl file which i have generated before using BPM. while executng the scenario, output is not coming. i have used 2 receiver communication channels for soap and for file.For soap, i have given the target url and soap action of the wsdl file which i have generated.In moni i can see the 3 messages. for one message it is showing checked flag, but for other 2 messages, it is not showing any flag. Can you please tell, where i have done wrong.

  • Why CBO don't use function-base index when I use like and bind variable

    Hello
    I have litle problem with function-base index and like with bind variable.
    When I use like with bind variable, the CBO don't use my function-base index.
    For example when I create table and index:
    ALTER SESSION SET NLS_SORT='BINARY_CI';
    ALTER SESSION SET NLS_COMP='LINGUISTIC';
    alter session set nls_language='ENGLISH';
    -- DROP TABLE TEST1;
    CREATE TABLE TEST1 (K1 VARCHAR2(32));
    create index test1_idx on test1(nlssort(K1,'nls_sort=BINARY_CI'));
    INSERT INTO TEST1
    SELECT OBJECT_NAME FROM ALL_OBJECTS;
    COMMIT;
    When I run:
    ALTER SESSION SET NLS_SORT='BINARY_CI';
    ALTER SESSION SET NLS_COMP='LINGUISTIC';
    SELECT * FROM TEST1 WHERE K1 = 'abcd';
    or
    SELECT * FROM TEST1 WHERE K1 LIKE 'abcd%';
    CBO use index.

  • How to use JDBC Positional Binding Style & ExecuteWithParams?

    Can anyone provide any help here including any documentation on how to configure this (I've checked online help and the developer guide.)
    When defining multiple Bind Position variables on a View Object (using sql statement binding style: JDBC Positional), should I defined multiple bind variable names? Otherwise, if I don't, when I use ExecuteWithParams operation to create the data control, only one input variable field is displayed. I can get a single bind position variable to work, but am struggling on how to configure / get multiple bind position variables to work with ExecuteWithParams.
    Here's my current configuration:
    1. Define View Object with two JDBC Positional Binding Parameters
    -- Bind Variables: name=parm1 (???should I define a second bind variable name???)
    -- Bind Positions = 0,1
    -- SQL Statement add another position var in where clause: "match (zip) against (CONCAT(?,'*') IN BOOLEAN MODE) and "match (name) against (CONCAT(?,'*') IN BOOLEAN MODE)
    2. On a JSF page, drag ExecuteWithParams operation from data control onto the JSF page. If I have defined only one bind variable name, only one input field is displayed (and one field label that I defined for that bind variable), but I need two input fields - one for each bind position variable. How do I set this up?
    Back-end Database is MySQL 5.0.1 which is why I am using binding stye JDBC positional.
    Thanks, Tom

    I did some more testing and the problem is that the queries work with one bind position variable but not with two. I created two simple view objects off of the same entity object to test:
    #1 - ViewObject with one bind position variable - where clause: where id > ?
    #2 - ViewObject with two bind position variables - where clause: where id > ? and id < ?
    I created two separate .jspx pages, view1.jspx (one input field) and view2.jspx (two input fields), for each view object by dragging ExecuteWithParams operation onto the JSF page.
    The .jspx page with one input field works (returns result sets.) The view2.jspx page with two input fields does not work - the query does not return any result sets (no errors produced, it just does not return any rows) - I've tested my query outside of jdeveloper and it works fine. I also tried switching my inputs to make sure I did not have an illogical query (i.e., id >100 and id< 1).
    Is there anything different / extra I need to do to use two bind position variables?
    I'm STUCK HERE.
    Everything in this simple test was identical except for using 2 input variables versus 1.
    Technology stack is: jdeveloper 10.1.3, jsf/ADF BC, mySQL 5.01
    Since I now understand what the problem is better, I'm going to re-post this as a new topic that more appropriately describes the problem, "Queries not working with multiple bind position variables?"

    Hi,
    As you might guess, we are not big VB users here :-) but we may have some C# code that
    could be of some value.
    What problem are you trying to solve by not using WSDL?
    Just curious,

  • Using SOAP-JMS binding for business process

    Hi all,
    We are currently designing one business process which consume MQ messages. The MQ message body is SOAP XML. SOAP Headers carry business specific important data section, so we don't want to loose these headers at any cost. The message consumer is the Websphere process choreographer business process, reading message as a JMS message. When we develop the business process, we are planning to use SOAP-JMS binding. But problem with SOAP-JMS binding is: when the MDB reads the message off the message queue, it strips off all the SOAP headers and delivers only the SOAP body. Is there a way to make this behaviour change to keep the SOAP headers? You may suggest to use JMS bindings, but JMS binding will send the message body as WSIF message (as a serialized java object). I'm not sure of how easy it is to marshalling/unmarshalling of this serialised object. My main concern is around, how to identify the "type" of the message while marshalling. Would writing our own MDB solve the problem? Again MDB's sends messages as WSIF messages to the business process EJB's, which I guess I get stumble across the same marshal/unmarshall problem. Hope I made myself clear of what i'm going trying to do. Any advice is highly appreciated.

    Hello Markus,
    I just paste my answer form the other forum entry Re: Business process management strategy in SAP?
    in a nutshell BPM Netweaver is focussing on so called edge-processes (usually
    SOA-based and often workflow related). These edge-processes a thought to enhance exisitng core business processes and should provide the fast competitive edge versus competitors. Examples would be also xApps. For this Netweaver provides process modelling tools, where you can get exectuable code through the integration between CE and PI. The monitoring part for these processes is mainly targeting business end-users and business manager.
    Business Process Monitoring with Solution Manager focusses on core business processes which are realized with the "conventional", "old" SAP Architecture, e.g. Order-to-Cash or Procure-to-Pay. You get a combination of technical monitors (average response times of transactions, background job runtimes, monitors for IDOC or qRFC processing) and application related monitors (you get more than 200 pre-configured application monitors out-of-the-box like number of overdue customer orders or outbound deliveries or number of deliveries with goods issue posted but no invoice). The target group here is the support organization of the customer, from Basis-Support over application support on IT side to process owner on business department side.
    Overview presentations can be found under
    https://service.sap.com/bpm --> Media Library --> Customer Information -->
    "Business Process Monitoring - Part 1 & 2".
    Or look under https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/nw-processmonitoring
    In the end BPM Netweaver and BPMon SolMan are complementary for different purposes and different target groups.
    Best Regards

  • To test BPEL project using a wsdl file.

    Hello Experts,
    I need to test the BPEL Project using the wsdl file.Is there any tool to test the BPEL project?the tool should generate the input data and expected output result using the wsdl file.
    please reply soon
    Thanks in Advance.

    The entire application means the BPEL Project will be invoking many services.Consider a scenario,that i am creating a bpel project which invokes 10 services.If i make some changes in one service,i must be able to check the bpel project with that service alone.i need not cal all the other services.
    I need a framework or tool thet will generate input data and the expected output based on the wsdl file.
    can u suggest any solution for this?

  • How to use wscompile to generate code using a WSDL file?

    I am working with JAX-RPC of Java Web Service ver: 1.1. I am intrested in making the WSDL file first and generating Java code from the WSDL file. On the following link:
    http://java.sun.com/webservices/docs/1.1/tutorial/doc/JAXRPC6.html#wp80094
    it says that wscompile can generate code using a WSDL file..:
    <quote>
    Table 11-3 wscompile Options
    -import : read a WSDL file, generate the service's RMI interface and a template of the class that implements the interface
    </quote>
    and the wscompile software says this:
    <quote>
    C:\>wscompile
    -import : generate interfaces and value types only
    </quote>
    can anyone tell me how to generated Java code from a WSDL file. As in, make the WSDL file (e.g. using XMLSpy) and then use that WSDL generate Java code.
    Thanks

    I'm trying to generate code using wscompile under the struction in JAXRPC_Tutorial.pdf.
    I issued the following command:
    wscompile.sh -keep -gen:client -f:wsi -verbose config.xml
    But I met with the following warning and I cann't find the produced java code, who know why? Thanks in advance!
    warning: ignoring SOAP port "EmployeeDBPort": unrecognized transport
    warning: Service "EmployeeDatabase" does not contain any usable ports
    the config.xml file is:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <configuration
    xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/jax-rpc/ri/config">
    <wsdl name="EmployeeDBService"
    location="EmployeeDB.wsdl"
    packageName="com.sun.xml.rpc.xml.EmployeeDB">
    </wsdl>
    </configuration>

  • ABAP webservices using 2 wsdl

    Hi,
    SAP is  initiating a SOAP request to  DataPower ESB which gets an asynchronous  SOAP response  and gives it back to SAP.
    It is a pass through service  and there is no transformation done.
    SAP is creating ABAP webservices. The webservices are created using the request wsdl currently. Can it be done using 2 wsdl as request wsdl and response wsdls are different. Combining them is another option but later on the provider changes the wsdl , the wsdl again needs to be combined . Instead of that can we maintain 2 different wsdl one for request and one for response and create ABAP webservices.
    Kindly suggest.

    Hi,
    Since this is async communication you can make two services in ABAP using 2 different wsdl. These two wsdls are two different services (in your case).

  • Using Groupwise wsdl in coldfusion

    Hello,
    we try to use the groupwise wsdl in coldfusion 8.
    If i register this service in coldfusion administrator, i get the error 'coult not registered'.
    By using the wsdl directly in cfm with 'cfinvoke', the error message is, that methods cant found.
    Direct compiling of the wsdl with the tool 'WSDL2JAVA' (which is also used form coldfusion to genereate JAVA-Files from WSDL), there are 3 directories createt (groupwise-wsdl, events, types) but no directory methods.
    Any ideas?
    Regards

    Yes.....
    Get a desent Newsreader instead of the webinterface.....Like GroupWise

    That newsgroup is only exposed via NNTP, so no http access.
