Use only Internet Explorer for SAP portal

Hello,
We have a requirement to use only internet explorer for SAP portal.
When we try to use portal in any other browser, it should display a message saying "This browser is not supported for the application" (or any other message). But purpose is, the portal application should be usable in only one browser i.e Internet Explorer.
If any one have any idea on this, how this can be implemented, then please share the same. I tried to find if there are any standard SAP portal parameters, but haven't come across any.
Regards,
Denish

Hi Denish:
Following link may not apply to your scenario but could give you some direction and ideas:

  • Autocomplete in internet explorer for a portal

    Hello,
we are in the process of implementing a new SAP portal, and I would like to know if it is possible to deactivate the autocomplete functionnality in IE (for the login screen of the portal) but only for the SAP portal, not for other websites.
We would like the users to be actually able to use the autocomplete functionnality in IE for all the other websites, but not in our portal. I don't know if i am clear enough in my explanation...
    Is it possible ?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
iTunes and iCloud and different accounts, you will need to delete both accounts from your device before adding the new details in their place.
For iCloud go to settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit the delete button. You can then sign back in using your correct details. For iTunes go to settings >store, tap your account ID and then sign out, you can then sign back in using your correct Apple ID.

  • Can't open a website that supports only Internet Explorer

hi, i can't open a website that supports only Internet Explorer (high-q.co.il - which i need badly for my bachlor dagree)!!
my mac runs OS X 10.9.2 system operation. i cant open this site with: chrome,opre,firefox,safari...
    what should i do?

Try changing your browser agent using the Developer menu your browser preference can enable.
If that doesn't work, complain to your college dean that the website violates accessibility laws, and should follow http://www.w3.org worldwide conventions to ensure accessibility.  Do not enter any personal information if you are forced to use Windows to browse the website, as it may be insecure.

  • Internet Explorer for MAC

I need Internet explorer for my work online catalog, does IE work on Snow Leopard? What's the latest version? Thanks Alex

I've always ask to myself why Mac people are so bitter about Microsoft.
If you're saying this because of my comments regarding IE, it's because IE is well-known for not following established web standards. Among web designers, there's a saying used like a curse word: IDWIMIE. What does it mean? It Doesn't Work In Microsoft Internet Explorer. Web design would be so much simpler if IE just curled up in a corner somewhere and died.
Not all the softwares have to run in every browser out there.
Actually, the point of the web is that all web pages and web apps should work in every browser. If a "web app" only runs in IE, it's no more a web app than a Photoshop plugin is. It's a dynamic Internet Explorer plugin loaded over the internet as needed.

  • Is there internet explorer for mac?

Is there Internet Explorer for mac?

If the developers of the site insisted on using Microsoft-proprietary technology such that the site requires Internet Explorer, then your only solution will be to run Windows on your Mac, either via Boot Camp or one of the virtualization solutions (Parallels Desktop, VMWare Fusion, or VirtualBox) so you can run the Windows version of IE. There is no IE for Mac any more, hasn't been for years, and almost certainly is not coming back.
I run Windows on my system and it works fine; no "pollution" has occurred. In circumstances like this, it's often the only, or at least optimal, solution.
company who makes the program now has a iPad APP.  Why put the money into an app but not have it available on safari.
You'd have to ask that company that question. It seems odd to me as well, but they obviously have a business reason for their decision.

  • Internet Explorer for Mac 5.1 or higher

Please direct me to where/How I can download internet explorer for my macbook OSX

Given that the last time Microsoft even pretended to support IE/Mac was when the US federal budget still claimed to run a surplus, I infer the only reason to use IE/Mac instead of Safari, Firefox, Camino, or Opera et al. is that some site you need to access requires IE.
Bear in mind that if such a site makes use of ActiveX controls, it won't matter if you try IE/Mac; ActiveX is Windows only. However, a large number of sites that require IE do so because the site's programmers were too busy and/or lazy to check their coding was HTML-compliant and work with other browsers. A cheap shortcut to testing the code is to have the site check the browser the visitor is using and refuse anything other than the browser the developer used.
That can be bypassed by having the visitor's browser report that it's actually another browser and even another platform. That can be done by telling the browser to report it's "user agent" identity to be something else, such as IE5/Mac or IE6/Windows (the latter is probably more useful).
You can set the User Agent in Safari by unlocking the Debug Menu. To enable Safari’s Debug Menu, open Applications> Utilities> Terminal when Safari is closed and enter:
    defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDebugMenu 1
Restart Safari to see the Debug Menu.
Set the User Agent to the desired state just before attempting to go to the site for which you need IE/Mac.
p.s. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!

  • How or where do I download Internet Explorer for Mac OS 10.7.5?

How or where do I download Internet Explorer for Mac OS 10.7.5?

Internet Explorer is only supported on Windows, so you can't use it on OS X. There are a lot of browsers like Safari, Firefox or Chrome for Mac, so try them. If you need Internet Explorer, you have to install Windows on your computer. See > https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3321

  • I need the internet explorer for my mini mac, is there any compatible to install?

There is a program at work that i need to use the internet explorer to access, but the mini mac is not compatible.  Is there a way to intall a compatible Internet explorer into a Mini Mac

    There are two possibilities here:
    1)  The program needs windows AND it needs internet explorer in order to interface with the pieces of windows that it needs.  Normally a browser forms a application environment which stuff runs inside, and well-behaved applications will run pretty much in any browser on any operating system.  But microsoft has other things that they have put into Internet Explorer that allow you to go THROUGH the browser and into the windows operating system below it.
    2)  The program has only been tested in Internet Explorer on Windows, and so that's all anyone will vouch for, but it will run just fine in other browsers and other operating systems.
If it is situation #1, then the only way to run the application is to run windows AND IE.  This can be done on another computer running windows, by creating a BootCamp partition and buying and installing windows on it, or by buying and installing vmware or parallels and buying and installing a windows virtual machine on it.
If it is situation #2, what is necessary is experimentation.  Try to load the application url in various and sundry browsers and various and sundry versions of those browsers on your mac.  If you find a configuration that works, you can then lord it over the ignorant people who told you that it requires I.E.
Just a note if it DOES really require windows and I.E., which is that it may require some particular version or versions of windows and/or I.E.  In our case, the Crystal Reports ActiveX Viewer will not load in windows 7 if running in a non-Administrator account.  And our bank's online banking software won't run on I.E. 9 or 10.  (I've got to watch windows update like a hawk to untick the I.E. 9 update.)

  • Is MI 7.1 uses only WebDyPro Java for UI?

    Hi,
Is MI 7.1 uses only WebDyPro Java for UI?
    Regards
    Kumar

    Hi Kumar,
the recommended way to develop UIs for mobile applications with Netweaver Mobile 7.1 (this is the offical name of MI 7.1) is really WebDynpro. The same set of Designtime tools are used for PDA and Laptop. At runtime this looks a bit different as PDA and Laptop do not share the same runtime framework. The Laptop runtime is based on the regular Webdynpro runtime whereas on the PDA an eSWT based framework is used.
A short tutorial how to develop an application (including UI) for PDA is available here:

  • Need internet explorer for Mountain Lion

Do any one know where to find Internet Explorer for Mounain Lion?

Internet Explorer is only available for Windows, not Mac. If you have to use a webpage that requires Internet Explorer, you can use compatibility mode:
    1. Go to Safari > Preferences > Advanced and tick Show Develop menu in menu bar.
    2. Open Develop > User Agent and press Internet Explorer 9 (Windows).
If it doesn't help, buy Windows 7 or 8 and install it in VMware Fusion, Parallels Desktop, VirtualBox or through Apple Boot Camp

  • CSM SLB for SAP portal 5.0

    Dear All!
Is there somebody who have experineces with SLB for SAP portal? The main question is : Which sticknies to use: SSL or IP based? How to configure IP based, because I did not find good explanation of "netmask" parameter in sticky,sticky-group command. What happen to sticky connection, when real server fail. Is it rebalanced?
    Thanx!
    Gabriel

    Hi Gabriel,
I do not have experiences with SAP-Portal Loadbalancing but from my experience with loadbalancing I would say that this decision should be done regarding the surrounding environment. If there are proxies around which are used to connected to the loadbalanced VIP I would suggest SSL-Session balancing/stickieness. If clients are directly connecting towards the VIP a client-IP-stickieness might be easiser to troubleshoot.
    Regarding the netmask issue:
Unfortunately there is no real documentation (I did not find any so far). I can only tell you the result out of my experience:
A netmask 255.255.255.255 is kind of host stickiness and 255.255.255.0 a stickieness of a /24 network. In other words I think that all Clients with a network of 10.1.1.0/24 are sticked to the decission once taken for one of the hosts in this segment while the sticky timeout did not take place. Maybe one can confirm or correct this.
Regarding the thing with the failure of a real server:
With the corresponding failaction defined in the serverfarm you decide what to do in case of an error of a real server. The stickiness should be corrected correspondig to the results you define with the failaction command.
This is how I dealt with those sticky issue when doing firewall loadbalancing with client-IP-Stickiness.
    Hope that helped.
    Kind Regards,
    Joerg

  • I installed the new version of iTunes today. It's 12.1.1. After completing the installation, including restarting my computer, I was no longer able to use Windows Internet Explorer. Has anybody else experienced this? If so, how did you fix Explorer?

I installed the new version of iTunes today. It's 12.1.1. After completing the installation, including restarting my computer, I was no longer able to use Windows Internet Explorer. Has anybody else experienced this? If so, how did you fix Explorer? I was using Explorer 11 and Windows 7, installed on an HP Pavilion g series

Never heard of that being caused by installing iTunes. Try asking on a Windows forum. This isn't a problem with iTunes or any other Apple product. If you believe it is, uninstall iTunes. If the problem persists, you'll have to seek advice on a Windows forum or contact Microsoft for support.

  • Preview in browser internet explorer for mac

I use a Mac running Leopard and use Safari as my web browser.
When I try to "preview in browser" in DW, Internet explorer is not
available. Can I run it on mac and where do a get a compatible
version--and preferably without spending a lot of $.

internet explorer for the mac hasn't been supported by MS for
years. Honestly, it's not worth even looking at it.
To view your work in IE for win users, consider getting
something like VMWare Fusion or Parallels or just simply using
BootCamp (which comes with Leopard), to install Windows XP/Vista
    onto your Mac.

  • Can't run an applet with Internet Explorer for Windows

I'm not sure this is the right news group, if not please direct me to the correct one.
I have an applet at http://209.55.115.36/webfit/Instructions/instructio_list.php?section_id=1&instructionsPage=2 It works in various browser except internet explorer for Windows. I've tried it with IE on windows XP, 98 and ME. Here is what I do.
    1) I uninstall any copies of the Java Plugin.
    2) I install a new copy of the Java Plugin
    3) I test that I can see the Java Coffee cup in IE
I try loading in my applet and I get a big grey spot.
The applet works with all Mac Browsers, Netscape and Opera, but not IE. I don't get any error messages, just nouthing.
Any pointers or thoughts would be helpful. I'm under a time crunch because I wanted to show it off at a trade show this weekend.
    -Gary

HEY! I saw what you're talking about! I was working on my own stuff, and my applet said it loaded and init'd, but was still blank. The only difference was I had upgraded to the Plug-In 1.4.1 this morning. So I went back to version 1.4.0 and it worked perfectly again. Maybe that's what's happening to you. So ignore the link I just posted and go to this one:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/download.html
That'll let you download version 1.4.0 instead, and I'll bet you that one works. Let me know. Good luck!
