Use safari with wifi

When I use safari with wifi, my ipad always reopen
I do not know what is the problem with ipad?
someone can help me to solve the promblem!!

Update:  worked fine with free hilton wfi.  Splash/redirect page loaded fine
Then failed to work again, this time with reagan airport wifi.  After 30 mins on phone with apple support just mindlessly reading me through the generic support tips i already tried that didnt work, they gave up.
Now at marriott and redirect page worked and free wifi running with no problems.
How is it that i can be sitting next to someone at the airports that also has an ipad2 and they can connect fine and i cant???????  Are there really no solutions available?
And why is the final apple support suggestion from help desk to have the network router admin reset their router?  1) obviously not going to happen at public access points and 2) shouldnt apple design a product that can access these basic wifi interfaces that will commonly be encountered when using wifi without the need for network admin intervention????

  • Using Browser with WiFi

Greetings. I just purchased a bb curve 9320 and I'm very happy with it. I bought it unlocked and I'm using it with T-Mobile_text and talk only(no data plan)
I have one concern: I've been reading in some forums people say they have trouble and complain that WiFi options are very limited without a data plan.
I have successfully connected my WiFi and I'm using the native browser to surf the web. Does this mean I might get charged extra at the end of the month? I want to make sure I'm not using any features that are supposed to work only with data and I'm getting charged extra.
    Thank you!

Hello as_1000 and welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
Thanks for your question on Wi-Fi® usage.
Any questions related to billing and charges are best addressed by your mobile carrier since they control the billing.
I would suggest you give T-Mobile a call and inquire about billing questions.
    Thanks!

  • Can I use Ipad2 with wifi +3G with an Alltel Motorola MilestoneX 3g hotspot phone?

Alltel is my mobile service provider, and they are now offering the Motorola Milestone X running Android 2.2; this phone can function as a 3G hotspot.  If I have an Ipad2 with wifi+3g, and I turn the hotspot functionality of the phone on, can my Ipad then connect to that hotspot signal created by my phone--even though my service is through Alltel and not Verizon or ATT?  Alltel charges $20 a month for this functionality on top of my smartphone plan, but it provides unlimited data usage.  The fee for 3G Ipad date service for both Verizon and ATT is just a little more, but they have data limits on those plans.
Any assistance/info you can provide will be appreciated!

ok, so the phone creates a wifi signal, not a 3g signal--then the Ipad connects via wifi, not 3G, to the phone-- and then gets data off the 3G network ...that is where I was confused. Data flows from the Alltel 3G signal to the phone, then from the phone's wifi hotspot via a wifi signal to ipad's wifi receiver...
I was not sure if the phone "created" a 3G signal that the Ipad was then supposed to connect to...
    Much clearer now...thanks!
So, if this is how I am going to use it, do I even need the Ipad+3G--I really would only need the Ipad2+wifi, correct???

  • Anyone else having issues when streaming from veetle using safari over wifi?

I like many others have been having issues with my wifi on my iPhone 5 (sometimes when connected to wifi it just freezes up and I need to do a reboot or reset network settings to get it back up and running). In any case, that wasn't bothering me too much but I've noticed now that the veetle web site that I use sometimes to stream shows from on my iPhone stops showing video after a few seconds when using wifi. If i switch to my LTE connection or 3G it works fine but it's only when running with wifi that it has a problem. It will begin to stream a show properly then after a few seconds the video will cut out though the sound keeps playing. My iPad doesn't exhibit the same problems and can stream from veetle perfectly over my wifi. Anyone else out there having similar issues? This will be annoying if i'm travelling out the country and depending solely on wifi for my data and not being able to stream sports and tv shows from Veetle. Just wanted to see how commonplace this problem was. Thanks

All spring and summer Netflix/fios has been a problem. I have used a tool that goes beyond simple speed tests and gets to dividing up thE problem. It appears that the problems reside with fios, however true to form Verizon repair denies any problem (go figure) .

  • Can you use facetime with wifi only? No SIM card in iphone4

Party A: No SIM Card, in US, calling using WIFI
Party B: SIM Card, in another country, receiving calls, with WIFI
Can Party A and B connect through Facetime?
    Thanks for your time.

You can make video calls through skype.I think without sim you cannot use facetime because facetime needs your sim number.
Slight correction: FaceTime on the *iPhone* needs your SIM number.  FaceTime on the iPod Touch, iPad and MacOS have no such need.
This is one of the things I hate about Apple.  Why not just allow everything to behave the same?  Why should FaceTime, a non-cellular application, have to behave differently on the iPhone than on all other platforms?
(I also don't like that Videos lives in the iPod app on the iPhone, but has it's own app on the iPod Touch and iPad)

  • Return key disabled when using safari with Mavericks OS X

    Hi,
Has anyone got a way to use return key when using safari??

    niall1111 wrote:
It is,and always was, the return key that did this in snow leopard and other operating systems!
??? I have two Macs that can run Snow Leopard & in neither of them does the return key take me back a page. Also, nowhere in the lists of keyboard shortcuts for OS X or any of the browsers I use (Safari, Firefox, & Chrome) is the return key mentioned as providing this shortcut.
Some web pages may have been programmed to respond to the return key that way, but not many I have ever encountered are. I guess it is possible some extension or other third party add-on might provide that function, but itis definitely not something that has ever been built into OS X or any of the common browsers used with it.
In Safari (on Snow Leopard, Lion, Mountain Lion, & Mavericks) two keyboard shortcuts are provided by default to go back a page: one is the CMD-[ combination Barney already mentioned. The other is CMD + the left cursor key. Likewise, CMD+] or CMD + the right cursor key will take you forward a page (if you have previously gone back to a previous page).

  • Cannot use Safari with this version of OSX??

I recenlty installed Leopard on my G5 (pre-Intel but with 2GB). I have iLife 08 and Safari 3.
On one of the Account windows I get the message that "You cannot use the application Safari with this version of Mac OS X".
It works fine on my (administrator) account.
Any thoughts on this one please.
BTW, it is my children's account and I have some (but not stringent) parental controls.

  • Using Safari with Outlook web access

I use MS Outlook Web Access to access my work email (OWA). When I first bought the iPhone and tried to access OWA, Safari would "hang" and never connect.
My IT department found the solution. They implemented OWA with SSL. Once they activiated that feature on the Exchange server, it worked fine.
You will access your OWA account through Safari with an https://mail.yourmail.com/exchange. It will prompt you for your ID and password. You are good to go!

Try turning off the pop up blocker. The reply in OWA opens a new window.

  • Has any one used Safari with TreasuryDirect?

TreasuryDirect is asking for "A Web Browser That Supports 128-Bit Encryption". I cannot find any information about Safari's encryption capabilities. Has any one used Safari at TreasuryDirect?
    Thanks gameMan

    Hi,
Safari does support 128-bit encryption, as mentioned on this page:
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/safari/
"Safari also uses strong 128-bit encryption when accessing secure sites such as your bank or an online store, so you can transmit account and payment information with confidence."
I can't comment on TreasuryDirect however - hopefully someone else can answer that part

  • Using internet with wifi

How do you use the internet with wifi so that you don't need to have the data plan?

please read this article from the public knowledge base:

To sum up, you can't use Wi-Fi on a BlackBerry smartphone without the BlackBerry data plan.

  • Cant use safari with itouch

my itouch picks up IP address, subnet mask, Router, DNS.
It says it has signals and you can see it on the top.
But when ever I try to use any sort of intert connection I get a message of [Cannot Open Page]
Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding.
I tried using it at another place and it worked fine.
Thank you for your support thank you.

If you have connected at another location, your WiFi is working fine. If the problem is with a specific network, that is going to take some additional digging.
Try typing in http://74.125.67.100/. This should go to Google. If it does, then the problem is a DNS issue or a problem with that particular hotspot.
If this is your home network, try turning WiFi off and then back on. If it is a public network, try opening any bookmarked web page. The network may be using a web based log in screen that you must access and register on before resources are allocated to you.

  • How to use airplay with wifi dongle?

My mac's wifi adapter was broken, so I bought a wifi dongle - ASUS USB-N10.
It wasn't work until I installed the driver: http://www.wireless-driver.com/realtek-rtl8192su-adapter-macos-drivers-ver1082/
And however it seems to be a wifi assistant to help me using my wifi dongle more than a simple driver, and my mac recognize the wifi dongle as a lan connection, so I just cannot use airplay anymore!
The question is: how can I make my mac recognize the wifi dongle correctly (as a wifi)?

AirPlay is only compatible with AirPort base stations.
The dongle is not compatible with AirPlay.

  • 10.4.9 Scroll Wheel Problem - using Safari with a mouse with scroll wheel.

Since installing 10.4.9 I have noticed that when on web sites with Safari, when using the scroll wheel on my Logitech MX1000 Laser cordless mouse (Jan 2005) with Logitech control Center 2.1.3 (latest), suddenly you can no longer scroll using the wheel, in fact the mouse becomes "Dead" (the trackpad, too), so you cannot use the scroll arrows either. You have to quit Safari and restart Safari. Unfortunately this has happened 1-2 times/day and only since installing 10.4.9....... MacBook (May 2006, first ones) 2 gHz RAM.
Any form you are filling-out -- not possible to send, since you cannot click the send button...
Has anyone seen this problem or similar mousing problems running 10.4.9?
    Thanks.
    Steve Schulte 19 March 2007

NOTE: I have just learned that the Logitech Control Center 2.1.3 is NOT compatible with Mac OS 10.4.9 but that Logitech is working on 2.1.4-- so if others are having a similar problem, then it is not your Mac!
Hopefully this will be out shortly--- and if anyone hears anything, kindly post.
