Use siri in lockscreen, Loud sound

After i'm using siri in lockscreen, The volume sound to unlock the iPhone 4s is very loud.
Is that normal? or am i'm the only one?

It hasn't been corrected for me. It's been going on for months and I am running 5.1.1 and so is my husband The mic (speech to text) makes all alert sounds LOUD while the sound is playing, sometimes continues even if you kick out of the mic. It's awful.
My husband's behaves slightly differently. His is rather random - it didn't get louder when turning the mic ON but then got louder when he turned it OFF... and then he hit the 'back/delete' button the keyboard, it totally shut off the sound entirely.

Help! I no longer have any sound when I try to use siri!

A couple days ago, I went to use Siri and you know how it makes the sound when you start it? No sound. I had the sound up high and everything. I can still ask things, but I get no reply back. I tried turning siri off, rebooting my phone, but still nothing. I restored it to factory setttings, and there is still no sound when I use Siri. Help?

Using siri to easily bypass lockscreen

I have an IPhone 5s running ios 7.1 and I can easily bypass the lockscreen by asking siri to search something on the internet then clicking on one of the results which will open up safari then I all I have to do is click the home button which will bring me home giving me 100% access to my phone. Seems funny how easy it is to get around the lockscreen. I know you can turn siri off in the lockscreen to fix this but does anyone know if apple is working on an ios update to fix this because I would like to use siri in the lockscreen knowing my phone is still secure. Thanks

Because you are using an iPhone 5S and it is reading your fingerprint to unlock.
Try it with finger not used with TouchID.

IPhone 4s sound muffled after using Siri?

Hello everyone. I am new to the Apple discussions page, but need some help. My iPhone 4s' is having a really weird problem. I use Siri, then lock the device and the lock sound is muffled and distorted. I tried restoring it multiple times, and that didn't work. I looked for this problem, and no one seems to know what I'm talking about. Can someone please help me? It would be greatly appreciated, and also my iPhone warranty is good until February, 2013. Click on the blue Internet Recovery in nbar's post. That is a link to what computers can run Internet Recovery.
Do a backup, preferable 2 separate ones on 2 drives. Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart or hold down the option/alt key during a restart and select Recovery Volume). Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair and Repair Permissions until you get no errors. Reformat the drive using Disk Utility/Erase Mac OS Extended (Journaled), then click the Option button and select GUID. Then re-install the OS.

This sounds like an international issue? Although I can not see why? I brought my phone in Australia and operating it in Indonesia, I have the same issues.... Otherwise Siri works fine, even texting (SMS) to local numbers siri works well, but dialing local number it just wont work...! I will try using my Australian SIM card and see if that is the reason.. I tried changing the number in the contacts and took out the international prefix, I turned the international assist on and off still nothing.. How frustrating. I called apple, the technican had know idea and we to his supervisor, had to wait fro 40 miuntes and then I hung up..

SSL error black screen when using siri random volume when master is set on high iphone 5

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If you make an appointment with an Apple store for a consultation this is the first thing they will tell you to do. Hopefully it gets your phone working correctly again.

Re: loud sound - I did not explain myself very well. It is a continuous loud hissing sound that pins the meters and sounds like when I record into Pro tools and forget to change from digital to analog inputs. By the way, no trouble recording using Pro Tools LE so I must have some setting incorrect. Thks for your help.

How do I correctly choose the number when using siri?
The issue I am having is this:
me: " call Tom Smith"
Siri: "calling Tom Smith, which number would you like to call?... Three: 07897332123 or work: 01811231234?"
me: "three"
Siri: "I am sorry I do not understand "three" which number would you like to call?
How do I tell Siri to call the number listed as "three"?

It might not be possible to get this to work. It sounds like, when you say "three", Siri is interpreting it as the number 3 rather than the word. You may have hit a limit of Siri's artificial intelligence engine.

Audio Gain Adjustment for LOUD sounds sources?

Any developers know if a hardware adjustment like an audio level gain control is possible within a third party application. My canon digital camera allows me to manually attenuate loud sound sources with the assistance of a peak meter to prevent distortion from loud sound sources such as those in a live concert setting.
It's sad to see all these youtube video clips from live concerts with totally blown out audio which could have been prevented by a simple mic gain adjustment.

OK, I might have found a workaround. If you are indeed talking about mono audio mapped to stereo, there's a fairly simple solution: instead of using Audio Gain on a clip in a sequence, simply use it a on clip in the bin/Project Panel instead. To do this, just select the clips you want to use Audio Gain on, and then go to Clip > Audio Options > Audio Gain (CS5.5 has added this to the right-click menu). Even when mapped to stereo, there is no crash--at least, not in my testing. It seems to be OK even when the clips are already used in a sequence; note that it won't affect clips already in the sequence, though.
Does that work for you? Just did a quick test here...

Can't open app using Siri whilst driving

I've got a BMW that uses Siri Eyes Free.
I can read and send texts OK but if I try to open an app I get told that Siri can't do that whilst I'm driving.
I'm not trying to do anything that would distract me from driving - I just want to listen to an audio book and so I'm trying to open Audible.
Is this a "feature" of ios?

Siri opens apps just fine.
I hit the button, tell Siri open audible.
Audible app opens.
Tell Siri play that Mitchell and Webb sound, which is in the music app under audiobooks, it opens and starts playing.
I believe the problem is with the car system.

Audio jack from laptop outputting louder sound on the Right

My laptop which is an HP ENVY 15 Notebook PC with Windows 8.1has been outputting louder sound from the audio jack louder on the right earpud/headphone side than the left (or the left side is softer than the right). The sound outputs normally from the build in speakers though.
The speaker properties on it has both sides balanced on the volume output. I have tried resetting the BIOS and deleting the sound card drivers from Device Manager in the Control Panel. Also I've tried deleting the driver, redownload a new one, turning off the laptop, take out the battery and drain the power, then start pressing Esc...F10...F5...and so on steps (for the people that will tell me to do this).
Is there any other solution (besides resetting the laptop completely)?

I see that when you connect your headphones that the audio is unbalanced, but when you are using the internal speakers it is fine.
When you connect your headphones have you gone into hardware and sound and configured the headset?

Noise-canceling headset to use Siri while driving?

At freeway speeds, road noise in my non-Lexus renders Siri basically useless when I use the Apple-supplied headset.
Have others solved this problem by using a noise-canceling headset? What model/brand works well - preferably without breaking the bank?

That's great! Sounds like the user has a choice how to use Siri. Another concern I am finding on the blogs is that one cannot use Siri while the phone is locked. Before iOS7.1, you could. Does this mean I must unlock the phone before I can use Siri? This would be inconvenient while driving or other circumstances.

Arm record and the meters top out and a loud sound comes out

I have tried to record but just get a loud sound and the meters max out when arming a track to record. I am using a Digi 002 rack into my Imac. Playback of demo files works fine. Help

Sounds like your getting feedback. First make sure your using the Digi and not the built in mic.
Turn down your monitors, keep mic as far away from the monitors or use headphones to monitor.
