Use two-step verification with AppleTV?

I have an AppleTV 3rd Generation (rev 2, A1469 running 6.1.1). Since adding two-step verification to my Apple ID, I have been unable to sign into iTunes Store to access my purchased movies and television shows--or even to update the AppleTV software. How do I use the two-step verification with AppleTV?

  • Canu00B4t use two step transfer with split valuation ?

Hi people , i´ve activated split valuation for MaterialX , it has two Valuation types ( Production and Purchase ) . The problem arose when i tried to do a two step transfer between plants ( mov 303 ) and i got the following error msg :
Use one-step procedure for transfer posting to mat. subj. to valuation
    Message no. M7048
    Diagnosis
In the receiving plant, the material is subject to split valuation. For this material, a stock transfer cannot be carried out using the two-step procedure.
    Procedure
Use the one-step procedure (movement type 301) or a stock transfer order for the stock transfer.
The message is very clear itself , but... i just wonder if there`s actually any way to avoid this, considering that having to create a transfer order for each movement will duplicate work and using a one step transfer won´t be practical. I tried to change the error msg into a warning but couldn´t find it in customizing. Thanks for any comments on this !

First of all , thanks everyone for the help.
Csaba Szommer, Kunal ingale  , i read the OSS note and the pdf and indeed everything confirms it´s not possible to do the two step movement. So , i tried the stock transport order and something else appeared here. When creating this type of order , the system first ask for a Supplying Plant , then you can populate the material , quantity and the destination plant. But then it asks for the Valuation Type of the material involved, and it seems this field is Mandatory . Is it possible to make this field on the transport order as optional ? I couldn´t find this field at SPRO-MM-Purchasing-Purchase Order-Define Screen Layout at Document Level .
I need this field to be optional for the following reason. In my company there´s a relation between two plants , Plant A ( from where products are dispatched to the customer ) and Plant B ( where the material is produced with valuation type "Production" and sometimes is buyed from vendors with valuation type "Purchase" ) . The idea is to run an MRP which will generate the material needs on Plant A considering the Sales Orders. This need will be then transformed (automatically by MRP ) in Stock Transport Orders with Supplying Plant "Plant B" and receiving "Plant A". The problem here is that , at the moment of the transport order creation it´s no possible to know which will be the valuation type of the material that will satisfy the need. I mean , Plant B ( production and buying plant ) will check the list of needs for Plant A and then will decide which material ( with which Valuation Type ) they will provide considering the actual stock levels at the time of the MRP run.
In a few words, i see the only way to do a two step transfer of a split valuated material is using Stock Transport Orders , is there a way to make the field "Valuation Type" optional ?. The idea would be to choose the Valuation Type of the material at the moment of the Good Issue.  Thanks a lot , once again.

  • HT204152 Apple ID Disabled & Lost Recovery Key (Two-Step Verification)

    If you use Two-Step Verification:
If your Apple ID is disabled "for security reasons" AND you lost your Recovery Key ALL HOPE IS NOT LOST!  Speaking from a recent, nearly devastating experience, I hopefully will provide some relief to others in the same boat...
After speaking to several customer service representatives who basically told me that without the recovery key, there was no way to access my account and everything would be lost forever, I finally spoke with a senior customer service representative that actually understood my issue (most thought I just forgot my password).
As it turns out, my account was locked due to too many incorrect PW attempts (not exactly sure how that happened).  I was prompted to go to appleid.apple.com and when trying to log in, prompted to enter my Recovery Key.  I couldn't get further than that.  What I didn't realize and the other reps didn't tell me was after 8 hours, the account is unlocked.  I was then able to log in at applied.apple.com and verify my account using a trusted device.  I was then able to create a new recovery key (and print it out and put copies everywhere so this wouldn't happen again!).
Lessons Learned:  1. Don't lose the Recovery Key again!  2. When talking to Apple Customer Service, ask to speak with a senior customer service representative.  3.  Wait 8 hours without trying to log in and your Apple ID is unlocked again.

we all have had unsatisfactory results with entry level CS techs. Your advice to be assertive about speaking with a Senior Tech is sound and where I have ALWAYS found satsifaction. Methinks the proprietary Customer Service Knowledge Base may be running the same software as our forums - Terrible searching is a rule here. - the other two suggestions are very good as well - ÇÇÇ

  • Mail and Gmail two-step verification

For the last several days I've been encountering an issue with Mail.app and gmail where my application specific password is valid for one day only. This is not the case for the application specific password I have set up to work with Mail on my iPhone or any other apps. I have used two step verification successfully for months until one day, inexplicably, I was alerted that my password was incorrect. As I mentioned, this happens now on a daily basis.
For what it's worth, I've tried what's listed in this thread to no avail.
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/15206873
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi All,
I used to have that sort of problem,
first you could go to the connection doctor on you mac (it's on your 'Window' - > 'Connection Doctor' )
then check if your google account 'Smtp tab ' and 'Imap tab '  are all on the green light
If one of it is not connected ( Which means 'red' light ) , here is my solution .
Go  your keychain access ( comman + space 'keychain' )
    click tab 'LOGIN'
On the search tab Find either SMTP/IMAP  (Depend which got the red light)
There will be several accounts shown up if you have multiple email account registered on you mac mail.
find manually the account of your gmail account (Double click each one of it to check which account it )
Check again if you have 2 key chain on one single account
After you find your google account on your key chain  and check the box "SHOW PASSWORD"
Change the password according to the google 2 step verification password
click save changes .  (enter your admin password)
    Hope this will help

  • Two step verification credit card security code refused

Most infuriating. I've completed one set of two step verification with our common credit card & security code for my wifes Apple ID. The same CC & security code work just fine in itunes & the app store. But do you think I can get past the credit card security code screen (below) for my Apple ID. I've double checked the CC number and security code, retyped it 4 or 5 times with the card sitting on the keyboard. No typing error. I've tried 3 different browsers having emptied the caches and cookies. No, Apple refuses to let me in. Why?? Any ideas.
While I'm here, has anyone noticed the strange "area code" for the SMS-enabled phone. Area codes for mobiles don't exist as far as I'm aware. I've never h=eard of an SMS enabled landline either.I fudged it. It took three permutations to get the mangled mobile phone number into the right boxes! Bizzar. I think Apple is loosing the plot...

  • Unable to login to iTunes (from appleTV) after apple ID two step verification enabled

I recently enabled two step verification for appleID. Now when I attempt to use that appleID with my appleTV, I am unable to login to iTunes.  Should I not have enabled two step verification ?  Do I need to revert back to user name / password only for my appleID, which I use in conjunction with my appleTV ?
    help
    brianb

dis-regard this problem. I was able to regain normal operation, once I reset my appleTV, and re-configured it using my current appleID. It is rather odd though that I need to re-set my appleTV each time I change my appleID.

  • Two step verification in Canada SMS does not work with Telus

Just saw the announcement that Two step verification for your Apple account is now available to Canada.
    http://www.macnn.com/articles/13/05/10/option.will.appear.automatically.in.accou nt.details/
Tried to sign up, unfortunately after many attempts and testing with a few different phones it appears that Apples SMS server is not connected with Telus mobility as the messages never come through to any of my phones on the Telus network.
So maybe the announcement is a little premature.

    False start.
The option to sign up for two step verification has now been removed again.
I guess they have to get the SMS feature working first.
Here is a request.  Apple can you implement the industry standard time based authentication protocol:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time-based_One-time_Password_Algorithm
    http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6238
Same one is being used by:
    Google
    Dropbox
    Lastpass
    Microsoft
    Amazon AWS
Then you can use one of the many apps available for smartphones and support users who want something secure but that does not require SMS or an apple hardware device to login to their apple id.

  • Ios8 upgrade with two step verification

I have and iPhone 5 and two step verification in place.  When I first upgraded to iOS 8 the upgrade process asked for my verification number.  I first chose iPhone, but I did not get a code.  I then went back and selected SMS to the phone number that I was upgrading.  Then the upgrade went though without me entering anything.  I'm assuming that iOS 8 just read my SMS message and went through with the upgrade.  I'm about to do the same with my daughter's (she has her own Apple ID and two step verification) iPhone 4s and I assume that it will work the same way?
I could not find any detailed information on Apple's web site pertaining to this.

    Hi Les,
If you've been asked to wait, I would try going back through the process to start two-step verification as described here:
Apple ID: Frequently asked questions about two-step verification for Apple ID
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570
Set up two-step verification at My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com):
Select "Manage your Apple ID" and sign in.
    Select "Password and Security."
Under Two-Step Verification, select Get Started and follow the onscreen instructions.
That article also explains why you had to wait, in case you were at all curious:
Why was I asked to wait before setting up two-step verification?
As a basic security measure, Apple does not allow two-step verification setup to proceed if any significant changes have recently been made to your account information. Significant changes can include a password reset or new security questions. This waiting period helps Apple ensure that you are the only person accessing or modifying your account. While you are in this waiting period, you can continue using your account as usual with all Apple services and stores.
Apple will send an email to all the addresses you have on file notifying you of the waiting period and encouraging you to contact Apple Support if you think that someone else has unauthorized access to your account. You will be able to return to set up two-step verification after the date listed on your Apple ID account page and in the email that you receive.
Note: When your waiting period is over, you will have 30 days to complete two-step verification setup. If you attempt to complete setup after 30 days have passed or if you have made significant changes to your account during that time, another waiting period may be triggered.
    Take care, Les!

  • HT5593 How do i get sms support for two step verification in Canada with Telus ?

i have followed the procedure for setting up two step authentication and the part where it's suppose to send me an sms code is where it fails. the code just never comes. anyone else having this issue ? fyi, im in Canada and using telus.
i know when they first announced two step verification in Canada sms support was not there but now it's listed specifically for Canada and Telus on Apple support page. so what's the issue ?
i know Apple has had tons of issues with sms codes outside the US but i figured by now they would get it right so i'm hoping there's just something i'm missing.

i've even tried putting my sim card into a non-iphone, still no luck.
Then how on earth is the iPhone the issue????
    Oh wait, it isn't.
    Unbelievable...

  • HT5577 Devices and Recovery ID stolen. Unable to access account with two-step verification. Apple does not care. What can I do?

Last year, my backpack containing my laptop and phone were stolen. My Recovery Key was saved as a screenshot on the laptop and on the phone and I have no other copy. I remotely wiped both devices. I had no insurance for such circumstances and replaced them at my own expense but I cannot access my AppleID account because Two-Step Verification is active and my old telephone number was replaced and I no longer have access to it. I can live with losing the devices as a result of my own stupidity, but Apple claims they are unable to restore my access to my old account in spite of the special circumstances. Apple can confirm my identity via my bank details and my email address but they do not seem to care. I've lost access to my music, software, calendars etc. I have a new AppleID - I had no other option but to set one up - but it irks me that Apple is unwilling to transfer purchases made on my old AppleID to my new one. I am considering taking legal action to regain my purchases and wonder if anybody else has found themselves in a similar situation.

If apple tracked deviced they sold they would be violating a great number of privicy laws and would face class action and criminal lawsuits in most of the western countries

  • Gmail won't work in Mail with two step verification.

I have been hacked several times with google's email service by people in China and I decided to try their two step verification to add some security. But when I try to add the account on my mac mail list it says that it is offline and the app specific password doesn't work. I have changed the app specific password three times and all of them don't work. Please help!

Eliminate Mail by testing in Postbox and MailMate. Both have demos.
    http://www.postbox-inc.com/
    http://freron.com
If you cannot set an app specific password for these apps then the problem is with your account. It's difficult to actually get Gmail support so your best option might be to delete this account. Set up a new account with two step authentication immediately.
You also have other options for getting a free email account. Set up an Apple iCloud email or get an Outlook.com (previously Hotmail.com, Live.com, MSM.com).
Whatever you do you need to do the two step authentication.

  • TS3899 While messing with my two step verification I inadvertinely did something to disconnect myself from my gmail account that is on my mac mail.  I can't send or receive any mail

while messing with my two step verification on my gmail account I inadvertently did sometime to my gmail account on my Mac mail.  I can't send or receive mail.  Any thoughts

When it asks for the password, typically this is a random number sent to you via text message from Google.  I get a new code everytime I want to add a new device or log into from a new computer.  It can get very annoyingif you access your account from various computers or devices.  Once its working its not bad though.  You may want to go back in and turn the 2 step authentication off.

  • How does two step verification work with an iPad?

Two step verification seems to require an iPhone for the code - can it be set up for an iPad?

    Apple ID Two-Step verification FAQ

  • Can I setup two-step verification for more than one Apple ID?

I have one iPad and one iPhone.
    I have four Apple IDs.
I want to setup two-step verification in all four accounts.
    Can I?
It seems that I can't, because to add a "trusted device" to an Apple ID requires setting up Find My iPhone on that device. Find My iPhone requires an iCloud account (which is available with every Apple ID). But once you change the iCloud account account used for Find My iPhone on a device, the device will not be able to be used in two-step verification for the previous iCloud account. Or will it get remembered?
Anyone have any knowledge about this?

You should be able to have more than account authorised on your Mac's iTunes via the Store > Authorise This Computer menu option - and you should be able to select and sync purchases from both accounts to your phones
