Use Visual Composer models in GP NetWeaver CE 7.1

Hi to all,
i have a question regarding VC and GP on NetWeaver CE 7.1(trial version)
I have a compiled and deployed VC model - it is a normal UI.
I have created a CO from it and tried to use it in GP as action.
But the process never goes to the next step-have i missed something?
Should i do something like a special submit button or something like this?
How is the end of a step marked in GP?

Hi,
Whenever you use a VC iview CO in GP automatically a Submit button is provided at the top left corner of the main screen. Click on that to complete the step. Otherwise you can have your own Submit button on the VC storyboard and link an end action to it.

Error when deploying Visual composer model in NWDS

Hello Experts,
I am trying to run Visual composer model from inside NWDS. I have included a Web Dynpro application (with a public part) in the VC model.
When the VC model is compiled, it successfuly compiles and completes, However when i try to deploy it, i get an error saying "Warning: Could not find file <file path> to copy"
Any pointers in this regard will be really useful.

Integrate Visual Composer Model into CRM2007 web UI

Hi,
I have a requirement that executes a visual composer model inside the CRM UI. Links can be created for BI reports (3.x and 7.x) - however I am not able to call the deployed iView from the CRM UI.
One idea I had was to some how call / or embed a VC model in a web template. Hence I can link it using the normal BI - report links thus when the web template is executed it loads the deployed VC model. However this is easier sad than done...
Any one had this reqiurement before?

Hi,
Without the BI kit you cannot do a lot of things in VC 7.1.
This kit is not available with 7.1.
The part that you did not understand meant that if you opening VC using a certain id in portal for eg "user" then the same id should be present in your backend system in this case BW system.
Without this it wont be able to connect to the system.

For Visual Composer no need any Front end tools.. you need portal connection.. to configure your visual compoer.. the visla composer it self contain all the items.. just like a Webtemplate..
all the reports.. that web based reports or dash boards we can view through Browser only..

Not able to deploy a visual composer model

Hi All,
i am having an visual composer model which is developed and working in one portal.
And when i try to deploy the same model in another portal ( same version and patch )it is throwing some error which is mentioned in one of the <a href="https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/936390">SAP Note 936390</a>.
Branch between 7824 and 40595 around line 0 exceeds 32K span
But my question it is the problem in nesting views, then it should not even work on the portal where it has been developed.
Please let me know if there is anything to be done to make it deployed in the new portal.

Passing output of one iView as input to another iView using Visual Composer

I need urgent help. Is it possible to pass data from one iView to another using the Visual Composer tool. If it is how? Does anyone have an example or know where I can find one.
Here is my example:
I have created one Page with two iViews on the page. In the first iView i have a Bapi that accepts an ID number of a business partner as input and returns details like Name, Surname , title etc as well as the SAP Business Partner Number. The second Iview uses a Bapi that returns the Address details of the business partner.My problem is that I need to use the Business Partner Number from the first iView as the input into the second iView. Is this possible using Visual Composer? There will be a series of additional all bringing back different details of the same Business Partner and will need to use the same Business Partner Number.
Please advise me if this is possible using VC or if not suggest an alternative way of doing it.

Yes you can do this.
You can use ports (Signals) for this.
In order to explaing this, I will call the 1st iView - the source iView and the 2nd one - the target iView.
1. In the source iView create an "Out Port" from the form or table where you have the details you want passed. Name it anyway you want (in the Properties task pane).
2. In the target iView create an "Input Port" and connect it to the input of the BAPI you want run.
3. Make sure that both ports have exactly the same name (it's case sensitive). and the same fields.
4. Deploy the 2 iViews to the portal, put them in the same page.
Data should be transferred now between the iViews.

Hi,
after doing deployment the model in the VC will be published in the Portal content.
You can define the path where you want to publish the Model in the Portal under portalk content in
(In VC) Tools->Options->Compiler->Deployment folder(mention the folder name in the portal content).

I had the same problem 2 months ago. Apply note 886209 (in the <compiler> element, find the <headless-server> parameter, and change it's value to true.Around line #146) and Deploy in VC must work.

Hi experts.
We recently got problems with deploying our visual composer applications. It has worked well before. The compilation excecutes perfectly, but when the deployment starts I get the error:

Use visual composer for maintenance transaction of R/3

Can I use the visual composer as a tool to connect to maintenance transaction of R/3.
Can I use it to build a sales order or a porches order in the R/3.

Does anyone know if you can use an IDOC interface with VC? Also, does anyone have suggestions for a BAPI for creating and displaying notifications?

Problems using Visual Composer with Web Dynpro runtime

I am currently trying to build a Visual Composer iView and we need to use the Web Dynpro runtime rather than Flash because it needs to work with a screen reader for users with sight problems. Which is a pity because Flash works fine. But when I use Web Dynpro runtime I'm getting the following problems:
a) When I define fields and pushbuttons in forms where Align Contents is set to Absolute, they do not appear at runtime in the positions in which I've placed them - all form elements are aligned vertically. The only other options are to align all fields vertically or align all fields horizontally. This lack of flexibility makes it rather difficult to create a good screen design; the only option seems to be to create a separate form for each set of differently aligned fields, which leads on to the next problem. .
b) When I define more than one form on a page, again at runtime the forms do not always appear in the positions in which I've placed them; the compiler seems to calculate how much space it needs to display the screen elements and then re-sizes and re-positions the forms accordingly, ignoring what I've told it to do.
c) Toolbar pushbuttons do not appear on forms (they do appear on tables). Irritating, but at least I can still create pushbuttons on the form itself.
There are other issues, but the main problems is that it appears that when I use VC with Web Dynpro I cannot trust the editor layout at all and the only way I can build something that looks decent is to fiddle about with field / form sizes and positions, checking every change on the output, until hopefully I get it looking ok. Having to do this will dramatically increase the time taken to develop VC applications. Has anyone else experienced these problems with VC and Web Dynpro? Has anyone managed to overcome them?

Thanks, but neither of these describes the problems I've been having. And they are misleading since they say that you can use VC with Web Dynpro only with Web Services ie not directly with BAPIs / RFCs, but using it with BAPIs / RFCs is one of the few things that works well in our system.
The most recent problem I've found is that if you make a form or table read-only it will stay read-only in Flash but the fields are editable in Web Dynpro. The individual field disable option does work for Web Dynpro, but it turns the fields from black to a vey pale and almost invisible grey (this doesn't happen in Flash). And you can't seem to change this.
It does seem to be a bit pathetic that input fields can't be made read only. I've tried expression boxes, which are read-only anyway, but they appear in as pale a grey as the disabled input fields. And although plain text fields can be added to tables, they are pretty useless since they can only hold a single value and so all the lines will contain the same value.
I guess I should resign myself to the fact that I am never going to be able to produce a decent screen using VC and Web Dynprp.
