This is no question; it is simply a request that you make it possible for people with the free developer program to use their own iOS apps that they built themselves without having to pay $99 a year.
This is because loads of people want to build small apps for themselves, and can do so easily now that Xcode is free on the AppStore. The main problem with this is that they have to pay to simply do this.
So this is in a way a petition for all you people who are the same; who have written your own iOS apps for your personal use only, apps that shall not be distributed and only serve to show what you can do or help a family game to get Apple to make this small thing possible for you (us).
So please post here if you want the same.

Yes you can (unless they are apps that require the iPhone's full phone capability - I have some apps on my iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch
If they are designed just for the iPhone/iPod Touch then they will just take up that sized portion of the screen. There will be a '2x' button on the screen, but that effectively just doubles the size of each pixel in both directions, so it may then appear pixelated.

If you buy an unlocked phone from Apple you should be able to use it with any carrier. It'll be more expensive but you get the freedom to choose.

I got the iPhone 5S 16GB less than two weeks ago. I did the update after purchasing and everything has been fine. My internet, apps, texts all stopped working last night. I have restored to factory settings, taken out the SIM card, and wiped the phone clean 3 times. I plan on paying a visit to my carrier today. I have been on the phone twice today with my carrier. They reset it the first time, it worked for an hour then messed up again. They reset it a SECOND time.. It worked for 6 hours, then messed up again. I don't know if this is a software issue or what but if ANYONE has any insight, I would appreciate it greatly.

go to certificate , Identifiers & Profile tab
go to keychain access and create a .csr file and save it, it'll required for creating certificates
create a certificate from certificate tab
create App Ids from identifier tab
Register your device UDID from Devices tab
Create distribution profile from Provisioning Profile tab and download & save it.
Install the Provisioning profile to your device and build your project using that profile.
Archive your project and create .ipa file
Final step: Install that .ipa file to your device.

I have an NI5911 high speed digitizer and would like to acquire a video signal from a CCD using it. Does anyone know if this is possible without buying any more hardware please? If it is, how would I go about it?

The only thing I succeeded in finding on the NI site was about using a different high-speed digitizer in tandem with an IMAQ card but I was hoping not to have to buy an IMAQ card as it means I may as well not have got the NI5911 (a while ago) in the first place. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can certainly acquire video signals with the 5911. The only tricky part is that the 5911 does not have any video triggering options. That means that you will have to either find a way to provide your own trigger based on the video signal (that's where the IMAQ board comes into play) or you can just take a lot of data and keep only the data you need once it is in software. For instance, you could take one large record and then use software analysis to determine where the frame sync occurs. Hopefully this was helpful.

Suppose you should have all your songs and apps in your iTunes. If so, just get the new iPod synced with your computer, everything can be synced.
If your old iPod is an iPod Touch, you can restore from a backup of your old iPod if the old iPod used to be synced with your computer.
But, the items will be deleted if your old iPod was synced / copied songs / apps from the other computer, and those items is purchased by other iTunes account, and your computer is not authorized.

Test App on my own device

Hi, another question from new xcode developer.
I did not pay $99 to register IOS developer program, since I am just learning stuff. The question is, can I test on my own device (ipod touch, iphone) without registering the developer program? The Apple IOS developer guide says I need to register to test. I might want to register when I am ready, but for now I am just playing and learning. It will be good to just use a generic provision to sign my app and just let it run on my own device. Any suggestions?

- blocking device-builds for hobbyists and students represents systemic pressure to jailbreak
- being explicitly asked to pay for non-profit non-distributed device-builds is simply crass
Surely a generic certificate for hobbyists, students, charities etc would cost Apple nothing; the function of any number of parameters could easily be limited e.g. number of concurrent devices, concurrent apps per device.

Your MacBook uses OS X, which is a different operating system than iOS and that use different applications. Because of this, you can't use iOS apps on your MacBook Air, and there's no unofficial way to make them run in OS X

How to install AIR 3.6 SDK in FB 4.7 without breaking iOS apps

i downloaded the the Air 3.6 SDK with compiler from the labs website, unpacked it on mac, put the contents into the AIRSDK folder under the com.adobe.flash.compiler... folder as specified.
relaunch FB 4.7, and it shows that the AIR SDK is now 3.6. update my name space to use 4.6, can compile and run no problem in AIR simulator, HOWEVER, the minute i try to export an IOS app, or run in IOS simulator or do anything with IOS, it craps out and i get the mess age"AIR For Apple IOS support in Flash Builder is not support", which means something is wrong, and of course it points me to instructions for FB 4.5 which are inapplicable....
this is extremely frustrating for me, because i am hitting a nasty bug in AIR 3.5 and hoping that adobe has fixed the iOS app generator bug that i am encountering in AIR 3.5 where my final apps just show a blank screen and don't run at all... yet work fine in the AIR and IOS simulators...
hoping someone else has wrestled with this. How come only a few people have had this problem, and nobody has reported a solution.
would be nice if Adobe put some effort into reducing the number of files inside FB... it is over 25,000 files, and i gotta say, that is sloppy work to have so many files and therefore thousands of dependencies. Each dependency is a link that potentially can break. Far better to use collections of files that cannot be broken.
And the update process should be no more than replacing a folder and restarting FB. I have spent 10 hours trying to get this to work, any help towards a solution would be greatly appreciated.

Did you try the newly released SDK from official page, rather than labs? I would also suggest running FB with Java 1.6, if you have it on Java 1.7 - FB4.7 is known to yield some quirks with new java VMs.
Flash Builder is developed on top of Eclipse platform, which is basically a pluggable architecture - nothing wrong with that. Number of files do not really affect the overall application performance. In general you should not touch that, unless you really know what you doing and can manage all the dependencies on your own. I agree, though, that's is quite unfortunate that Adobe decided to hide the AIR SDK deep inside plugins, instead dragging it out to a top-level folder, where it's visible and available for change. It was possible with Flex SDK configured externally, so why not here?
