Used Boot Camp to install Ubuntu, now Boot Camp is out of date, want to rid

A while ago I used Boot Camp to install Ubuntu, but now Boot Camp won't start because I don't have 10.5. How do I delete and restore my Ubuntu portion back to OS X

in system settings, go to the time/date, and uncheck the "Automatically set time" option, and manually set the date to sometime in September 2007. You should be able to use the Beta version of Boot Camp to remove your second partition and restore your disk.

All you need to do is install Adobe Creative Cloud application using which you can download InDesign cc app .

There is no other way you can do now. Actually, you don't need to create a new Apple ID account, you can change the Apple ID from old email account to other email accout easily by all the steps below.
1, Open iTunes > iTunes Store > log in old Apple ID > Click on your apple ID on the right hand side on top > choose account > Apple ID > Edit
As long as you only change your Apple ID, then all the old apps are still under your new email account as well as you can keep downloading new apps.

    Hi, JoseN33.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Try the steps in the first article below and see if that resolves your data issue.  However, with some carriers settings need to be manually entered in order to access their cellular data network.  The second article will walk you through that process.

  • MBP won't boot - "GRUB_" - tried installing ubuntu on an external drive

so i tried installing ubuntu netbook remix onto an external drive, and upon restarting my MBP won't boot to my internal HDD, once it displayed "GRUB_" with a blinking cursor, but is otherwise unresponsive.
now i just get the folder with the ? on it.
I've run disk util, repair permission, repair disk and still no luck.
i can boot the MBP into target disk mode and see the HDD on my other system and all appears to be good, and if i boot to the install dvd, the HDD shows up under the "startup disk" menu, but it just doesn't boot.
any thoughts on how to fix this?

So I have an imac that I have had for about 3yrs. About several months ago, it started acting a little strange, it wouldnt pick up the mouse or the keyboard at times even thought they were plugged in properly to the usb port, sometimes both would work sometimes one or the other would work and other times they worked fine. About a month or 2 ago, I went to turn my imac on and it got to the screen where the little circular icon pops up implying it is loading, stayed that way for 2-3min then turned of and turned itself back on and did the same thing, made the apple sound got to the load screen turned of after 2-3min then turned back on, it has been doing that for the past month. What do I do?

  • Boot Camp Assistant installing Windows 7 option is grayed out. Help!

I have a late 2009 27" iMac, to which i clean installed the Yosemite OS (been updating the OS since Snow leopard that came with). I had Widows 7 installed since i bought it, but now whit this clean update the Boot Camp Assistant shows the option to "Install or remove Windows 7 or later version" grayed out and I'm unable to select it at all.
So far I've tried downloading the windows drivers from the Boot Camp Assistant to a DOS formatted flash drive, downloading them from the apple support page and also some files (also from apple) specific to my computer. Non of which have any file or program to instal or run to alleviate this problem.
As I see it, there may be one of two things causing the problem.
First: I saw somewhere on the apple support page that do to the model on my computer I need Boot Camp 4 and I have Boot Camp Assistant 5.1.2 (Maybe if I could instal this older version, but how?)
Second: When I clean install the OS I partitioned the disk into 3 parts, (system, Windows, and Projects) and that may conflict whit Boot Camp Assistant somehow?
    Please Help Me

Please post the output of the following commands.
    diskutil list
    diskutil cs list
sudo gpt -vv -r show /dev/disk0
    sudo fdisk /dev/disk0
The last two commands will prompt for your password. These are run from OSX Terminal.
Your current disk layout is unsupported. The standard layout is EFI/ESP, OSX, Recovery HD, Windows. Every software upgrade is a problem waiting to happen in your current configuration. Snow Leopard (without a Recovery HD) is the last OS which can support an additional 'shared' partition. Once Recovery HD came into the picture, this ability was lost.

  • After installing Ubuntu, now I cant re-install Mac OSX 10.0.4 on my G3

350 Mgz, Blue and White G3:
I installed UBuntu, then decided to re-install Mac 10.0.4 and wipe Linux off. After deciding to go back to OS X, during the install process of 10.0.4 from the disk, when time to choose which HD to install it on, it will not recognize the HD that Linux is on, it only shows up with the OS X CD, and it is grey out...
I have tried several times to install and find myself stuck at this point of not being able to choose the HD to install on, it did have OS X on this mac before I installed Linux.
Any suggestions? My buddy wants to buy it, but only after OS X is back on it...
    Thanks in advance,
    Doc

Hello and Welcome back to Discussions.
Frankly it's a complete waste of time to go installing 10.0.4; it's nothing more than a beta and very little actually works on it well.
You should re-install OS 9 from the original install disks and ensure that firmware version 4.1.9 has been installed. Panther was the first really usuable version of OS X and the maxmimum that your iMac supports (10.3.9). Until then OS 9 was more functional in many respects. I'd advise your friend to get a copy of Panther from AppleRescue ($59) and do a fresh install of that.
    kind regards

Help, just got a new hard drive installed and now my videos in iPhoto say, "a necessary data reference could not be found"

  • I use to close Firefox and it would ask me if I want to save those selections. Now It wipes them out and I want Firefox to open back up with what i closed it on.

Fire fox use to remember the pages I had up when I closed it. Now it just opens with my home page/

Firefox now always stores the old session which you can access by going to the History menu and selecting "Restore Previous Session".
If you always open the last set of tabs, an alternative approach is this:
    # Click the orange Firefox button, then select options to open the options window
    # Go to the General panel
    # Change the setting "When Firefox starts" to "Show my windows and tabs from last time"

  • I've registered facetime in my iphone using my uk telephone number. Now I move to another country and want to use facetime using my email account since my home country's telephone networks do not support facetime application, I think.

How can I register a facetime account using my email account in my iphone4? I used to have an account using my uk number but now I moved back to my home country with telephone networks that do not support facetime.

The telephone network doesn't support Face Time regardless of the country.
There are some countries where FaceTime is not allowed because of local laws.
Where are you?  If it's anywhere in the Middle East, you're out of luck.

You could try going to http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and downloading the installer to your desktop and running from there.

  • Intel iMac will not turn on. Won't boot up from install disc either.

The last couple of weeks I have been noticing lag, freeze and graphical issues with my Intel iMac -- ever since I installed a video game called Warcraft 3. My computer's specs are way beyond the recommended specs of the game (it was released in 2002) but even when playing the game I would have graphic and freeze issues. It would get to the point where I would have to power off my computer and power it back on to get out of the freeze.
Tonight when it froze my computer, my whole screen was given a "digital green" tint. I can't figure out any other way to describe it. I powered the computer off, turned it back on and the usual Apple that pops up when the computer starts up had the same "digital green" lines through it. After that it goes to a grey screen and sits there.
I put in the install discs that came with the computer and powered it back on -- same scenario would play out. It was like it wasn't reading the discs. I turned it off again and held down "Option" when powering it on and it asked me what I wanted to boot from: the hard drive or the install disc (the green tint was gone). I chose hard drive and my computer booted up like normal finally, but once the desktop screen finished loading, the whole screen turned green and froze again. I powered down, turned it on with "option" again and chose to boot from the install disc (now the hard drive and install disc labels had the green tint too). Nothing happened. The computer went right back to a grey screen and stayed there.
Any ideas what the problem could be and how I might fix this?

    Hello fallingisfunny
As described in the link below, run the Apple Hardware Test a and see if it detects a hardware issue! If a hardware problem is found then you will need to take the iMac in for service!
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1509
Apple support will probably have you do an *Archive and Install* or *Erase and Install* from the OS X Install Disk. If you have everything backed-up, you might give that a run as per the article in the next link!

  • How do I install Ubuntu on a Toshiba Satellite L670D-102

    Hello
I have been trying to load Ubuntu 10.10 (tried both AMD64 and i386 versions of Desktop Edition) onto a Satellite L670D-102 using a Live CD. The CD spins for a while, there is some activity on the hard drive and then I get a flashing white cursor (a hyphen) on a black screen. I left it all night and it remained the same. I tried with a 'live' usb and again, no boot. The cds and usb work in other machines running both amd and intel cpus.
The sort of questions that spring to mind are:-
Is there some security or other setting within the cmos that prevents anything other than Windows being loaded?
Are Toshiba simply anti- Linux and I need a new machine?
Do I need a special bios to run Ubuntu?
Any help in resolving the issue would be welcome.

    Hi
I use a Toshiba Satellite L655. It came with a Win7. The first thing I did after buying it was to wipe out Win7 and install ubuntu 10.10 on the entire hard disk (not a dual boot or Wubi install). Now I want to try out ubuntu 11.04 beta from a live usb and I am trying to change the boot order. The laptop doesn't boot from the usb drive. I am unable to enter the BIOS. I have tried pressing ESC, F2 etc while switching on the laptop. So far, I have not been able to access the BIOS setup.
I have tried googling and I read about Toshiba's "legacy-free" laptops. But am not sure if mine is such a one. Now, I don't have Win at all in my laptop. I have only ubuntu 10.10. I need to access the BIOS setup and change the boot order so that my laptop boots from the USB drive. How do I do this?
    Any guidance would be welcome.

  • How do I install Ubuntu on Mac?

I was wondering about Ubuntu and learning more about it.
I used Boot Camp once to install Windows 7 Ultimate, but I wasn't satisfied with Windows 7, so I removed it. I thought Windows 7 was really boring and I missed many of the games included with XP that were excluded.
So how do you install Ubuntu on a Mac?
I've heard of using virtual software to install Ubuntu, but is it possible to install Ubuntu via Boot Camp?
    Here's my system info:
    15.4-inch MacBook Pro 2.8 GHz (Mid-2009)
Mac OS X v10.6.7 Snow Leopard
Let me know what I need to get started

    Hi,
the Ubuntu community has a very good place to start here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MacBook
Nonetheless I would propose to start with the free VirtualBox as install/use Ubuntu in a Virtual Machine.
If you don't like it it is easier to remove...
