Used copy of Panther?

Is it possible to use a already used copy of Panther to install on a mac that is missing a OS?

I'm not sure how universal the four disc Panther CD retail installer set is,
but I do still own one, and found it was an older version of Panther than
the one my iMac G4 17" 1.25GHz computer shipped with on DVD media.
The first iMac G5s shipped with Mac OS X 10.3.5 (7P35)
and their processors were under 2.0GHz.
The software installer set included with a 2.0GHz
G5 iMac is this number: Mac OS X 10.4 (8A428)

These early model groups each require a different
Apple Hardware Test on computer-series specific
discs in order to check their hardware status, also.
So, if the fairly sound logic of past system configurations still flows down-
hill, the practice of an older OS X installer not working in a newer Mac
would still hold. And I have read elsewhere of this holding firm; although
there may be a few models or builds that could use a four-CD set 10.3
older than their shipped hardware configuration or software packet...
Just like there are stories of people using an eMac G4 installer CD set to
put Panther 10.3 on an iBook white G3. (I've done that. Installer boots it.)
{If the installer can boot the computer, and the test should still include
a hard disk drive reformatted by the disk utility on the boot disc as
well as further setup using the intended installer as far as it may go.}
So, if someone can randomly buy some questionable computer at auction
while not knowing if it boots into an OS or has a hard drive inside; and get
a CD installer 10.3.x retail set from another source, and make a whole
working computer out of the deal, that would be a fine result of a gamble.
{It could happen. Since I live near the north pole, I still am on the lookout
for a Santa, too; but just don't expect much to happen as a result. Not to
discourage another's optimism, a computer not guaranteed to work as
one is a stretch in the first place. The seller is not saying it computes.}

Can I resell or gift my retail copy of Panther?

Once upon a time I bought a copy of Panther to run on my Powerbook, now I am using Tiger. When I was using it, my Panther software was registered to me. Is it legal for me to sell or give that copy to another person to install and use (and possibly register)? If not, why not? (If I can sell my car to another person, why couldn't I sell my software?)

The OS doesn't really get registered to anyone. The information you supply is user tracking information for Apple. A head count of Apple users and what version of the Apple OS they're using more than anything else.
You don't actually even need to fill any of that out. The user info dialogue is a separate program. You can quit out of it like any other program by pressing Command+Q. The installer will then skip that part. It's handy to fill it out though. When you move up to your next version of OS X, you only need to enter your Apple ID and password and it will fill in the rest of the information for you.

DELIVERY How to use copying control to control print process?

Hi All,
I recieved a request as this when material no. is 111, then do not auto print the delivery note out.
Delivery note output type is ZXXX.
So is there any idea to use copying control to control this ?

No need of copy controls for this. Delivery note is printed from delivery. So why do you need copy controls?
When defining O/p determination procedure for your O/p ZXXX, in the requirement routine, check the values of LIPS-MATNR. If LIPS-MATNR = 111, donot print the delivery note for that item (LIPS-POSNR). I guess you will need to define a new Z routine for this. Dont change the standard routine.

Installing a used copy of photoshop CS4 onto my macbook air?

I just bought a new macbook air and want to install a used copy of adobe photoshop CS4 onto it. I purchased it off of craigslist and it has the install CD. Obviously I cant use this on my air. I do have a desktop mac with an optical drive if that helps to transfer somehow. Thanks in advance!

Here is Adobe's statement on Lion Compatability.
As crh24 pointed out you may also have trouble activating it if ownership wasn;t transferred properly.

Error while using Copy Package

Please check if you have data in category BudgetV1. This error normally occurs when there is no data in source specified in COPY package. Make sure to select appropriate members when you specify other source dimensions.

Installing used copy of Final Cut Studio 2

Hello,
I've been reading around the net and haven't been able to find a very clear answer as to what happens when you buy and install a used copy of Final Cut Studio. I understand that the program can be sold as soon as it is completely uninstalled from the seller's machine, but it's what happens after that on the buyer's machine that I am dealing with.
It is important to note that I am dealing with full versions of the program, not upgrades (nor do I have to option to consider them in my situation).
These are my questions;
1. When the buyer (me) installs the seller's used copy of Final Cut Studio 2 will I be able to install the program on both a desktop & laptop like when the suite is new (this is vital because I am getting a new laptop and need studio on both machines)?
2. If (for some unknown reason) the seller's used copy of FCS2 doesn't install, can I install FCS HD without any problems?
3. If for some reason FCS2 isn't completely uninstalled from the seller's machine will it impede my installation process of FCS2?
Any info you can give me in regard to any of these questions would be greatly appreciated. It is a bit time sensitive (not that I have a deadline but I need to do this asap) so immediate responses would be amazing.

2. When I say FCS 2 I mean the suite that came with Final Cut Pro 6, DVD Studio Pro 4, Motion 3, LiveType 2, Soundtrack Pro 2, Color, Compressor 3. I'm pretty sure it will play nicely with a new intel machine.
When I say FCS HD I mean the suite that came with Final Cut Pro (5.1.4), DVD Studio Pro, Motion 2, and Soundtrack Pro, and Compressor 2. This version (5.1) was made to work with intel machines.

Hello! I want to get ilife 06 with iphoto and I was looking for it on ebay. Will I beable to install a used copy of ilife to my computer or can a used copy not be installed because of registering issues?

The licence for iLife states once copy of the software on one machine. Assuming the Vendor has removed v6 from his/her machine, there will be no licence issues. There is no registration issue.

The CopyValue function considers only values in the first context of the queue.
When the queue has more contexts, the other contexts are ignored.
In online help, the element addrDat is 3 times under name, that means 3 values are in the first context.
That means: For the first occurrence of the partner it is correct, for all other partners, the values of the first context is taken. The online help does not express this, so it is misleading and should be changed to an example where address is not beyond a node with occurrence inbounded.
In practical cases the copyValue can only be used for values that appear in source just one time, like the IDOC header fields, as it works like a constant.

Copy Express will surely do the job and if you want to just copy a few templates individually, you could use this SQL Script

Problem while copying datas using Copy Express

Hai Experts,
Greetings.
We were trying to copy Master and Configuration datas from test database to Live database using Copy express. The datas from Item Master, BP Master copied Correctly, but, in CoA (we are using Segmented Accounts) the G/L Account --> the Code column shows the System refernce no. (ie., _SYS00000002679) and the Name of the G/L Account is copied correctly.
Is there any solution to solve this problem.

On your test company, there's segmented accounting setup. Is the segmented accounting setup on the Live company (or have you managed to use copy express to copy over the segments and other settings)?
If you've done that, then maybe you could export to XML your Copy Express worksheet and upload it somewhere so we can have a look?

Coppy commit while using copy command

I am seeing the following message when I used Copy command in Oracle 9i.
Array fetch/bind size is 15 (arraysize is 15)
Will commit when done (coppycommit is 0)
Maximum long size is 80 (long is 80)
Could someone tell what does it mean and is there any harm with coppycommit being ZERO ? If so how we could change it ?
DBA was telling the following:
In using the copy command in oracle, not specifying 'arraysize' and 'copycommit' attributes for large records will blow up the rollback segment and return errors.

Database link is always required in Oracle 9i to copy data ?

When you use the copy command, all you need is that both databases are in the tnsnames.ora file and you can commect using the username/password#sid string. The copy command doesn't use the DBlink.

If you use COPY then parameter is copied into procedure/function internal
spae, so You can't modify parameter.
If you use NOCOPY then parameter is not copied into procedure/function
internal spae, so You can modify parameter.NOCOPY modifier serves the same purpose as "copy by value" and "copy by reference" concept (like in C++).
Then you NOCOPY parameter you pass it's pointer in memory but not pass it's value into the stack.
You can modify the value of this parameter in both cases. The essential difference is for NOCOPY not only the pointer copies much faster then the object itself but the semantic of exception processing is voilated because when the exception raises Oracle can't restore the initial state of parameter (because all changes where made using the memory pointer but not usual stack copie of parameter):
