Used disc 1 to install in win 7 machine

I accidentally used disc 1 (vista) to install PPE10 in win7 pc.  Any harm done?

No harm done regarding Photoshop Elements which is only a 32 bit application but will run well on 32 or 64 bit systems.
If you have a 64 bit system and want to try or install the video application Premiere Elements, it's best to use disk 2. To replace 32 bit PRE with 64 bit PRE you need to deactivate and then uninstall/reinstall.
To deactivate you launch the PRE Editor and click new project if necessary. Then use the menu Help >> Deactivate. Uninstall PRE (not PSE) via the contral panel. Then reinstall PRE using disk 2.
Don't simply go ahead with disk 2 otherwise you will end up with two appliacations for PRE, one in Program Files and one in Program Files (x86)

  • Oracle Apps 11.5.8 Can i Install on Win Xp Machine??

    Dear Gurus!
I am new to ERP? I have few doubts regarding Apps!
Can i Install Oracle Apps 11.5.8 on Windows Xp Machine which runs with 1 GB Ram on a 120 GB sata Hard-disk!!!
I am aware of MKS Tool Kit and Gnome - and now is the above version compatible with Windows XP or i need to stick to Windows 2000 Advanced Server??
    Please advice
    Thanks in Advance
    Ravi

Hi, GNOME, is a graphical envirorment for platforms as Linux and some Unix, but not for Windows. As part of the installation Oracle E-Business Suite on Windows, you have install MKS Toolkit for Unix command emulation on Windows.
As alternative to MKS Toolkit, exist GYGWIN, a free software with same funcionalities as MKST. Review the Metalink note 302859.1.
    Good Luck

  • Icloud Control Panel 3 won't install on Win 7 machine

I have tried uninstalling, rebooting, but can't get past this.

Not one reply on your Question!!? I'm so frustrated right now, no matter what I do I get that error message. I cleared my PC from any Apple software and even created a new (Admin) Win7 Account to log in. I'm about to get rid of all my Apple electronics, just because no one is willing to help!! This is carrying through to Ver. 4 of iCloud, which I'm trying right now... still that error message. Is there even Apple Admin on this site? There is thousand having this exact problem with no fix from Apple! By the time they wake up with a fix, they will have lost thousands of clientele... seems it doesn't matter to them. So be it then!
So yeah I'm contacting the Vendor, like the message say, but there is is nobody at the other end of the line!!!

  • I'm using a 2014 iMac and a Win 8.1 64bit install disc with bootcamp. I created the ISO according to the instructions but when I selected it in bootcamp I got the following error "Boot Camp only supports Windows 7 or later..."

Bootcamp rejects the ISO file made from a windows 8.1 disc with the error message "Boot Camp only supports Windows 7 or later installation on this platform. Please use an ISO file for Windows 7 or later installation."
How do I get past this?

    Hi Loner T
No the ISO is just 64bit. I bought a shrink wrapped copy of 8.1 full version. It has two discs, one for 32bit and one for 64bit. I used the 64bit disc.
I inserted it in an older iMac that has a dvd drive, and shared that across to my new iMac. I used disc utility to create a disc image following instructions I found here...
Boot Camp: Creating an ISO image from a Windows installation DVD - Apple Support
This created an ISO file. I then went into bootcamp but when I tried to use the ISO file to create a boot USB it failed with the error above.

MacBook Pro 8,1 – Intel Core i5 – 2.23 GHz (early 2011) New with OSX 10.6 – current on all updates.
I successfully installed rEFit. I used Boot Camp to install Win 7.  All was great.
Then installed debian 6.  Somehow after the debian install and restart (I know this sounds crazy) but I am now reduced to Win 7 only. rEFit is not present when rebooting nor is OSX or debian. Further, I am unable to force the install DVD to launch when rebooting, by holding C, D or F8.  The Option key brings me to the grey screen with a padlock. I have attempted the root and local pw- no go. Restart holding D takes me to the windows boot manager. I have attempted several options within the Advanced Options; including – Repair Your computer, safe mode and “last known good config,” All of which did nothing.
I can see all my OSX files within win7. I tried to install the OSX within windows. Ya right, that did nothing..
I only desire to get back to OSX...
    What are my options??

Yes, you royally hosed up your machine.
You should first try to get your files off, any way you can to a external drive.
Your going to need to hold c and boot from the disk that came with your computer and a couple of screens in under the menu is a option for Disk Utility.
Select your drive and Erase with Security Option Zero, format the drive HFS+ Journaled and when that's finished (about a hour or so) then quit and install OS X from the installer.
I hope this works, but I suspect it won't. Others have hosed their machines trying to use a Linux disk without proper partition formatting too.
Another option might be to use another Mac to c boot off the Snow Leopard disk and install OS X onto a external drive, take that to the problem Mac and try holding option and booting off of it to erase your internal drive.
    You could replace the drive.

Is this holding option while booting?
There was someone else around here who hosed their Mac with a Linux disk too. Try to find it.

  • I did a factory reset on my late 2008 MacBook from a Snow Leopard disc. It installed fine, but as soon as I began to use the computer (safari) it froze. Couldn't even force quit. So I held down the power button to turn it off, and now it won't start up.

So I held down the power button to turn it off, and now it won't start up. It goes to the grey Apple screen and just sits there loud as can be. Help! Please keep in mind I've not done anything like this before and am going to need a little hand-holding. Thanks in advance.

Hi. Don't worry it's nothing serious. Insert the Instal Disc (Snow Leopard) and press the C button while turning on the computer. Once you see the desktop, go to Utility and choose Disk Utility. Select the Macintosh Partition on the left window pane and then click on Repair Disk and Repair Disk Permissions on the bottom right corner. Wait for both processes to finish. Click on the Apple icon (top left corner) and choose quit. Your computer should restart. See if it reboots normally. If not you can always reinstall the OS following the same steps. Good luck!

I purchased Lr3 (disc) and never installed. I now have a Mac laptop, no disc drive. Can I install it just using the serial #? If so how?

You can get a download for Mac at this link and then validate it with your serial number.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4927
Note that LR3 was designed for OSX 10.5 or 10.6. It will run on 10.9 (Mavericks) but there may be some appearance differences to the sliders. But why not give the download a try. Otherwise you may be best to upgrade to LR5 or wait for LR6.

  • Using a W520 to install Win 7 for a T400.... insane or doable?

Does this sound like a crazy idea, or is it doable:
Use a W520 to install windows 7 SP1, lenovo utilities, all updates and some applications onto an SSD
One week later install the SSD in a T400, at which point I will activate the install of win 7
I'm not running UEFI on the W520, of course.
I have no experience trying this. Would it even boot in the T400? Maybe it would, but windows wouldn't run correctly or optimally? I have no idea. I'm much more experienced with Linux, where this kind of thing is typically no problem.
I want to do this because I will have only a limited time with the T400, whereas I have much more time with my W520.  I'd prefer to have everything as ready to go as possibe. For instance the Internet here in Tajikistan is often rather slow and it would be nice to download the hundreds of MB of post SP1 updates over the course of a few days.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

  • Can I use my original aperature install disc to install on my new computer? not using old one any longer.

How can I use my original aperature install disc to install application on my new computer? I am not using my old computer and don't want to have to repurchase this application.

You are  allowed to do this. Are you asking how to do it? Just put it in the DVD drive and install like you did the first time. You'll need the serial number included with the DVD's.

  • Used MacBook with no install discs...

I just bought a used MacBook with no install discs for the OS.
I would like to know what my options are for getting the OS.
How much am I going to have to spend to follow the guidlines and EULA?
    Thanks

If you don't have your install disks you can get the two gray install disks by callingApple Store Customer Service at 1-800-676-2775 They can send them to you for about $16 per disk plus S & H. Just give them your serial number and they'll know which ones you need. With the original disks you also get the iLife that was current when your MacBook was bought included on the #2 disk.
Or you can get Snow Leopard for $29 if you have at least 1gb of RAM and a working DVD drive.  http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY
If you only want iPhoto or other single apps from iLife '11 and iWork '09 you can get them from the App Store after you've upgradedto 10.6.6. iPhoto, iMovie or Garage Band for $15 each and Pages, Keynote or Numbers for $20 each.
