Used iPhone was for sale working perfect BUT earphone water sensor Red???
I just drove an hour to check out an iPhone 3G for sale. The phone was in great condition, and ran smooth and quickly. Everything seemed to work perfectly including the cam, wifi etc. The only problem was that the sensor in the earphone jack was half red. The seller (who I can't beleive) swore that it hadn't gotten wet and there were no indications of problems. I read that sometimes the sensors will just turn red with humidity, like when sitting in the bathroom while someone showers. Also, it had no sensor at the bottom so I suspect he scratched it off because it was probably red also. Or does that one ever fall off? If he scratched it off or not, it may not have actually gotten wet. I may have just been in a steamy bathroom or something.
Anyways, I turned it down. In the future, is there any way to check further if there actually is water damage? The phone looked and ran great. It wasn't easy to turn down for $150!

I have an old iPhone 3Gs with software version 4.3.5, I am trying to use it again, and it works fine, but I have not been able to update the software. Every time I try, I get the following message:

Presuming you are using a wall charger - it would seem that your battery needs to be looked at in an Apple store

I have an iphone 4s unlocked with att prepaid plan (non-contract), everything was working perfect BUT since i update to IOS6 i can not send MMS to anybody has Android, i went to att technical center they said only apple store can fix the problem, i went to Apple store MANY times they could not fix it, so they gave me a new iphone 4s and they said they fixed it but they did not,iam so mad that's not fair, can somebody help me please.
The nice thing about owning this overpriced POS is that Apple not only doesn't support it, but also doesn't want to hear about anything negative regarding it. So I spoke to the so-called "support" people at Apple who successfully screwed up my contacts beyond repair. I got a nice email from Apple asking me to rate the support I got. I was actually civil and described the issue tactfully. What do I get in return? Nothing. Not a damned thing!! You're luck you've got me by the short hairs on a 2 year contract but I'm still tempted to throw this POS through the front window of the nearest Apple store!! Not only will I be replacing this phone with a competitive product but I won't be buying anymore Apple crap. I guess when you con 27 million people into believing your rhetoric and sales lies, you don't have to care whether some customers get screwed or not. I'll be going back to Verizon and threatening legal action if they don't take this electronic dung heap back but I'm sure the teams of lawyers Apple and Verizon have on staff have insured that I have no rights in this matter and you're free to screw me anytime you please. Sad. I used to love Apple as a company and your products. Now you're just another Microsoft with more trendy looking junk. I've had it with you. Could it be that some app is causing issue. I can connect my car and computer over Bluetooth but not ipad mini.
On the other had ipad is connecting to other iPhone but only not mine.
Still showing ipad not supported message. And also shows not paired.

Try plugging it in, and let it charge for at least 15-20 minutes. Then try turning it on again.

I own an iPod Classic. In iTunes, some podcast videos cant be played on teh iPod, so I set it to convert the video to the right format for the iPod. It used to work perfectly, but now for some reason, it doesnt convert properly! When I play the video, it is just a white screen, but the sound can be heard. Can anyone help??????
Your source video file is probably muxed.
Neither QT Pro or iTunes has the ability to successfully encode a muxed video file with audio. You'll end up with video and no audio.
See: iPod plays video but not audio of some exported files.
You'll need to use some other third-party software to do the conversion. There's a handful of software available. Just search the forums and you'll find many titles mentioned.
Try MPEG Streamclip. -
Problem: this mac is not reading an excell file after upgrading to yosemite. My Mac is from 2009, it use to work perfectly but it wasn´t able to open some apps, thats why i upgrade it. Now it once i donwload the zip it appears with an ".ods" extension

If the "it" refers to a compressed (zipped) spreadsheet that you downloaded, the ".ods" extension is used by LibreOffice and probably OpenOffice (which are free versions of MS Office) for spreadsheets, which would suggest that wherever you're getting that "Excel" file from has switched to one of those programs. I've tried opening an .ods file from LibreOffice using MS Office 2013 for Windows and it does open though with a warning that some things have been changed. I don't know if Office for Mac can normally open .ods files. But if your need is to just open .ods files, take a look at LibreOffice. -
In Numbers 09 there was 'rearrange' which worked perfectly. New Numbers 13 has Sort by column but I can't get it to work. is there a bug?
Numbers '09 has a Reorganize panel and the top section of that panel is for sorting. Numbers 3 also has the ability to sort and it works. However, Numbers '09 and Numbers 3 sort differently.
In Numbers '09, if you had a formula such as =Table 1::A1 and if a sort of Table 1 moved cell A1 to A20, the formula would change to =Table 1::A20. In Numbers 3, the formula would stay =Table1::A1. -
So this morning, the sound on my MacBookPro was working perfectly, but then all of the sudden, the sound didn't work. When i turned the volume up, it showed it turning up, but there was no noise. I also tried plugging in my earphones, and it still didn't work. I don't know what to do!!
Go step by step and test.
1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
Highlight Internal Speakers / Headphones
Make sure that Mute is not enabled.
2.Plug in and remove the headphone.
If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.
3. Reset PRAM. http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4405
4. Reset SMC. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Choose the method for:
"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
5. Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup
Audio Devices window
Side Bar
Click the Built-in Output.
Under Mute any of the boxes checked? If so, uncheck it. -

If you can't reach the previous owner or he/she is unwilling to cooperate, then the device is unusable by you. Return the iPhone for a refund if you can.
