Used ipod 5 stuck on activation icloud lock
I bought a secondhand ipod touch 5 ios 7.0.4 cant get ahold of original owner apple is no help is there any way to get this working if this is not fixable then I am out some serious cash and not happy with apple or the aeller I bought this from is there anyway to look up the original owners contact info by serial number thanks
Its really not Apple to blame. Its a security feature with ios 7. This is one of the things you should always check for when buying a device secondhand from a 3rd party.
You have to remember that everyone isnt honest out there and may intentionally try to sell a stolen device. Not saying that this is the case at all but this is one of the main reasons behind the activation lock. Think about it. If your iphone/ipod/ipad was stolen or lost, you would not want someone making a come up selling it for somebody else to use. If someone stole your car, would you mind if someone stole it, sold it and made money off your misfortune? lol
Only the original owner that set the device up can unlock this feature.

you can't bypass activation. Your phone needs to be activated for any of the functions to work.

Hey VPKR, Nice of you to try, but not really. Apple will do nothing without a count order and it's not likely you are doing to get one. The only way you can find out information that may tell you who the owner is, would require the password-- it's a "Catch 22." Turn the iPod over to the police, give then all the information you have about the person that sold it to you, and go from there. If bought online, through a web site like eBay, etc. contact the site about a possible fraudulent sale, you may some recourse to either get your money back and the web site can block this person from trying this again. Follow the instructions the web site gives you about what to do with the iPod. They may tell you send back to them or give it to the police. If you used a check or credit card, call your bank or card company and put out a stop payment, then turn this iPod over to the police. Hope this helps. Thanks for being an honest person. Cheers.

Yes. Reset network settings. Head to Settings -> General -> Reset and tap Reset Network Settings.

My iPod is stuck on an iCloud back up message. How do I get back to normal?
My iPod just announced it hasn't been backed up by iCloud in 7 week. The WiFi is turned off and I can't click this message away. Pressing OK would not work. Because I can't get rid of this icon, I cannot go back in the menu or switch my iPod off or use anything else. Any ideas how I can get rid of this message and go back to the menu to actually use my iPod again?
Have you tried resetting your iDevice?
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). -

Can an icloud locked ipod still be used with a bluetooth item an app?
I have a bluetooth fixator node (variable inc) that has to be run on ios and need the low energy bluetooth 4 and works in conjunction with 2 apps.
if I buy an icloud locked ipod touch woul I be able to do this?

It's impossible to bypass the activation lock. Without the credentials used to lock it or the active cooperation of the account holder, it's a brick. -
I bought a used iPod touch and when I try to set up my iCloud account, it says that the maximum number of free accounts have been activated on this device. Is there a way around this? I thought I could maybe set up the account on my PC and go from there, but it won't let me do that. It is forcing me to set up on the iPod. Am I doomed to have no iCloud account because I opted for a used device?

i bought a used iphone 4 (gsm) and it was locked on an icloud account i asked the old owner to remove the device from his devices list on icloud and he did but the iphone is still asking to be activated on his icloud account. any help please???
If it's still asking for the seller's Apple ID and password, then he most likely did not actually remove the iPhone from iCloud. If the problem persists, return the iPhone and get your money back. The seller can figure out the problem and resell the iPhone later.

I have been wanting to change it but I have not been able to sign out of the previous account because I cannot sign out of "Find My iPod Touch" due to not knowing the password. How am I able to shut that off and log into my own account?
You can't. This is a security feature to prevent the resale of stolen iOS devices. You need to contact the seller and have him/her remove it from their iCloud account. Or return and get your money back. See: Find My iPhone Activation Lock - Apple Support

If you are trying to activate an iPad or iPhone and it is asking for the original owners Apple ID and password, you have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. No must contact the original owner to get permission to use the device. If you cannot contact the original owner return the device to where you bought it and get a refund. You will never be able to activate the device and no one can help you do it.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -
