Used iPod just purchased

How do I erase all data/reset a used iPod just purchased by a second party when they don't know the apple ID? I have created a new one for my daughter for this iPod but need the ties to the old email address that keeps coming up on here gone so I can set up this new one?

You are running into the Activation Lock
iCloud: Find My iPhone Activation Lock in iOS 7
You eityh have to get the ID and PW or get the previous owner to remove the device from their account
Find My iPhone Activation Lock: Removing a device from a previous owner’s account
Otherwise return for a refund.
If you can't even do that turn it into the police since it is likely lost or stolen

2nd Hand iPod just purchased but can't get it to work on PC - help!?

I have just purchased a 2nd hand Ipod Nano 4GB 3rd generation. It is loaded with a 1000 songs but I would like to remove some of them and add my own. After having a big problem with iTune synchronization and having lost all my music, I just want now to use my iPod as a hard drive and listening-playing music from any other software like WinAmp when the iPod is connected to my computer. (but I want to keep the iPod working as usual when not connected to any computer.

Thansk! This is not exactly what I wanted, however, please apologize the confusion of my post.
When I enable the disk use, I cannot realy see the disk content as mp3 files playable from any software on the PC, am I wrong? I just see MFxx folders and strange file names.
And if I just store mp3 files on the iPod through the disk use feature and Windows explorer drag & drop, I just can't play them from the iPod when I am disconnected from the computer.

What are the steps involved in keeping movies/music on a used iPod I purchased, and yet be able to transfer my current iTunes stuff over to my "new" used 160GB iPod?? I've already registered the used iPod in my name, but iTunes still won't let me keep what's on there already, if I want to ADD my music and stuff to it!!
How do I get around this problem?? I have the previous owner's iTunes personal info when she made the purchase of movies and music from the the iTunes Store, but how do I use that info to help me do what I need to do to keep what's on the iPod already, and then add my stuff ?!? Any suggestions out there ?!?

Legally, you can't do what you're asking. iTunes purchases are for personal use and can't be resold.

THis is means they are not charging on a 30 pin cable and the touch won't work in my Apple iPod dock - no audio out or charge. Have re powered both devices to no avail am wondering if the iOS version is the problem

If it is a lightning to 30 pin adaptor, and you have a 7th Generation Nano it has to fit the Nano.

You need to contact Sony and see if they model you have is compatible with the docking adapter. It may not be.

Used iPod Touch just purchased - how do I delete her old songs/videos?

My son had an iPod nano [stolen] - and had an existing library of about 160 songs in iTunes. We just purchased a used Touch from a friend. When we plug it in, Itunes still has his "music library" but her name [Tiffany] comes up in DEVICES and when we click devices, it shows the bar meter as having her songs/videos in there still. How do we delete her data out, so we can load (only) my son's songs? Note that her LIBRARY (aka list of songs) doesn't show in iTunes, so we can't just click and delete them manually. He can, however, play her songs through the Touch...but he doesn't like the music and wants it gone.

It should (I think) be a simple matter of restoring and then synching in iTunes, this wil remove anything on the iPod that is not in your library. You can find "Restore" on the summary page when the Touch is attached.
If needs be, you can change the device name by clicking on said name in the right hand pannel.

Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old

Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

Sorry to ask, how do I do it please. I have my first ipod with the same account on both computers that have different libraries one of which I am building now. Do I have to de-authorise my original ipod on the computer that I want to use my new ipod on with the new library and then register my new ipod. You need to buy Snow Leopard from the online Apple Store. You don't need Mountain Lion.
