Used ipod w/ itunes info that needs to be transfered to my id + password

i have an ipod touch i created an itune account with. i recently bought a used pod. not even sure what kind it is. top half is the screen, below is a big circular button with stop/pause @ bottom, menu at top, left & right on each side. 80 gigs! if i open a new account will it replace the info on the pod? i dont know the password or email on the exsisting account on this older ipod.

Hello dysplace,
And welcome to Apple Discussions!
No need to open a new account or know anything about the previous account. To use the old iPod with your current iTunes library, simply restore it using iTunes as described in this article. Doing so will wipe all content from the iPod and set it back to its original default settings.

    Hello nincika,
It sounds like you do not want to add a credit card to your Apple ID.  If you are not seeing the "None" option when updating your billing information, I recommend the following article:
Why can’t I select None when I edit my payment information?

  • HT1339 my older iPod my husband wants to use and his netbook does not have cd drive. How do I down load iPod and iTunes info for this product so he can now use it?

my older iPod my husband wants to use and his netbook does not have cd drive. How do I down load iPod and iTunes info for this product so he can now use it?

Your question(s) is/are a little hard to understand.  So your husband has an iPod as well as a netbook and he wants to be able to sync iPod with this netbook is that correct?  If so, he'll need to first download and install iTunes assuming the netbook is running some version of Windows such as 7, Vista, or XP.
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
As for importing or ripping music, he'll have to either use an external CD/DVD drive that is attached via USB or rip the songs to another PC you have with a built in CD/DVD drive.  Once you have imported them to the other computer, you can transfer the songs to an external hard drive or to his iTunes library via Home Sharing.
If this isn't quite what you were looking for, please clarify.

Just downgraded back to iTunes 10.7 and copied music from ipod classic to itunes using houdini, but how do i copy the playlists from the ipod when itunes says that my ipod has been synced to another itunes library?

Thank you again for all of your help!! I really appreciate it!
I think I am following -- I was able to upload to my iPhoto and all photos and videos are there that is a plus! I tried to create an Event in my iPhoto and put all of my photos in that event but for some reason, now my iTunes it not recognizing that Event in my iPhoto. It is not allowing me to import just that event at the moment but I may be doing something wrong. At least all of my pics and vids are in iPhoto so that is a plus and I know they are at least saved somewhere. Just for some reason, my iTunes it not locating the event that I created with only those photos.
Thank you for letting me know about my contacts! How do I know if I have the contacts app?
Also, I had no clue that my iCloud could be backed up via cellular data! However, is this a new feature with the most updated iOS?? Unforutnatly I am like 2 iOS updates behind because I don't have enough storage on my phone. I still get the notification that my phone needs to be plugged in and connected to wifi in order to back up to the cloud :-(
How can I sync using USB? Right now when i click on the info tab for my iPhone in my iTunes this is the answer that I get -- I am a little unclear as to what it means.

  • I have an excel spreadsheet that needs to be transferred from a PC computer to my imac.  I downloaded the numbers program, but when I transferred the spreadsheet using numbers, it didn't appear the same.  Do I need to buy the mac office software?

I have an excel spreadsheet that needs to be transferred from a PC to my imac.  I downloaded the numbers app, but the spreadsheet isn't appearing like the original in the numbers program.  Drop boxes aren't working the same and things are moved around.  Will I need to now purchase the mac office software or will I still have the same problem?

More compatible are OpenOffice or NeoOffice.  Also if you are using a PowerPC Mac you may not be able to use the most recent Office anyway.    Make sure the version of Office you get is compatible with your Mac.  PPC indicates PowerPC, which was only found on Macs early 2006 and older.  Go to Apple menu -> About This Mac to determine which CPU is on your Mac.  If it says G3, G4, or G5 it is PowerPC.  If it says Intel Core you can upgrade to Snow Leopard minimum and possibly the latest Office, if it says Intel Core2Duo (with the 2 in the middle)  or Core i with some number you may be able to upgrade to Lion, but certainly no trouble wiht the latest Office.

  • I've synced iPad with iTunes, but it keeps telling me that there are purchases on my iPad that need to be transferred?

I've synced iPad with iTunes, but it keeps telling me that there are purchases on my iPad that need to be transferred before I can run the iOS update or I will lose them.  What should I do?  How do I figure out what purchases have not been transferred?   I went into iTunes on my Mac and ran "Check for available downloads" and I still get same message.

The 'cehck for available downloads' checks if there is anything in the store that you haven't yet downloaded, it won't copy anything from the iPad. Have you tried doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases ?

  • What IS the best program to use to create an animation, that needs to be viewed in Powerpoint?

What IS the best program to use to create an animation, that needs to be viewed in powerpoint?  Essentially i want to output a Movie File, so i'm guessing that Edge Animate is out of the question and it's not photoshop, more likely Flash?

So it sounds like you want to create a form. There are really two approaches, either Acrobat (AcroForm) or LiveCycle Designer (XFA form). LiveCycle Designer comes with Acrobat Pro, but it's an entirely separate application.
For an AcroForm, you'd create the underlying document in a page layout program (e.g., InDesign), word processor, or some other software and convert to PDF. Then in Acrobat you;d add the interactive form fields and any scripting you want. You can also add other types of interactive elements such as links, bookmarks, multimedia, etc. You can add a button which when clicked initiates an email with the filled-in form attached of submits to a web server.
For an XFA form, you'd normally create the entire document in LiveCycle Designer, particularly for a dynamic forms. There's a lot that PDF has to offer that's not available with XFA forms, but XFA forms can do things AcroForms can't. For a good discussion of the important differences between the two types of forms, see the following article: http://acrobatusers.com/blogs/thomp/so-what-difference-between-acroforms-and-xfa
For a form that needs to be saved with Adobe Reader, the document needs to be Reader-enabled. When such a document is opened in Reader, it will unlock certain functionality that Reader does not have otherwise, such as commenting, signing digital signature fields, and most important saving. But when a document has been extended this way with Acrobat, there are licesning restrictions. In short, if you distribute an enabled document to more than 500 recipients, you are allowed to use data from no more than 500 forms that have been returned to you, including hard copied. If fewer than 500 recipients, there is no such limit.

  • Using Ipod in Itunes 7

I used to be able to listen to my Ipod through iTunes but now I can't.
I can't figure out how to do it. Please help, work is boring me to tears and I need some tunes.

Yes. To do this, you need to connect your iPod, and check the box in iTunes to "Manually manage my music and videos" (you'll find it on the iPod's "Summary" tab in iTunes).
You can then open your iPod in iTunes and select tracks from it and play them through iTunes as you would for tracks in your iTunes library.
Note that the "Manual" setting travels with the iPod, so it will remain in manual mode on any computer you connect it to. If you want to return to auto-sync later (ie, because you're bringing it back to your "home" computer, then you will need to UNcheck this box before it will sync again).

  • Using ipod and itunes again

just recently i had to deleat every thing from my computer and restore it to how it was brand new, during this process of this my itunes was deleated and i had to re download it and now when i try to put music on my ipod it says i am only alowed to use one computer to get music from. What do i do?? thanks for any help

The message you are getting is that your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc.
If your iTunes is empty or doesn't have all the songs that were originally on your iPod you just need to take care connecting back to your computer. Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using a lot of the utilities your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers has been introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. The procedure is a bit involved and it won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. This is just a selection, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
    iGadget Windows Only
iPod Access Mac and Windows Versions
    PodUtil Mac and Windows Versions
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
    TuneJack Windows Only
    CopyPod Windows Only
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up in case you have problems again. External drives are comparatively inexpensive these days and you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.
You will also have to reauthorise your computer to play your purchases: About iTunes Music Store Authorisation and Deauthorisation

  • I have two iTunes accounts that need to be merged together

Recently with the purchase of a new iPhone, I created a new Apple ID and a new iTunes account in that setup process.  How can I merge the old account with the new account? I have not been able to use the iPhone to purchase items from the Apps Store because it links to the new iTunes account.  I have not discovered the method to change that iPhone configuration so I can log on with the original iTunes account.
Since the original iTunes account has $20+ balance from an iTunes card, I need to merge these two accounts.  Is that an issue for iTunes store customer support?

You cannot merge accounts. But you can change your iPhone to use your old account. Simply go to Settings->Store, sign out of your new account and then sign in to your old account.  When signing in to the old account select "Use Existing Apple ID" and not "Create New Apple ID."

  • Using ipod as a storage device, need some help

I want to use my ipod nano as a storage device and transfer my "mac" music files onto "windows" computer. Can i do that?

Not without the aid of some 3rd party software such as XPlay2.
Windows cannot read a Mac formatted drive.
Probably the easiest way to use an iPod on both Mac and Windows computers is to format the iPod (using iPod Updater) using the PC. This will force your iPod to use the Windows file system (FAT32) which both the Mac and PC can read from and write to without the help of additional software. Of course then all your software updates for the iPod will have to be done on Windows.
If you do that, you can use the iPod as a storage drive.

  • HT201413 Itunes disable one of my child's ipod.  It says that need to connect to Itunes.  Pls help.  Thanks!

On my child's Ipod 4 generation, we had put in the passcode wrong and the Ipod 4 generation has disabled  to a length were it nows says "Connect to Itunes". We were wondering what that means.

As the passcode has been entered incorrectly too many times, in order to now unlock it you will need to connect it to the computer's iTunes that you normally sync to and you should then be able to reset the iPod and re-sync your content to it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212) - you may need to put the iPod into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If you connect it to a different computer than that which it's normally synced to then :
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

I just bought my ipod touch 5th gen 32gb.
I have itunes on my laptop, and I added a playlist of a custom mp3 file I put in. No official apple product.
I exported it from sony vegas to mp3, and put it in my itunes PC version.
