Used Verizon iPad 3G Account not deleted properly

Hi everyone. I purchased a used iPad 2 (verizon) at a local flea market. The owner demonstrated it using the cellular data and then wiped the iPad before handing it over to me. I am realizing now that it appears he did not deactivate his verizon data plan associated with the iPad or may have clicked the "delete account later" option. I wish I had known about this process before purchasing. I am unable to get prepaid data service on the device. Verizon says the account is still active. I wish I had gotten the seller's number but alas I did not (how stupid of me). I was wondering if anyone else had this experience and if they were able to ever get prepaid service on it again.
It seems Verizon will activate it on a post-paid service but, with activation fees now, it's prohibitively expensive. Even if I were to reactiveate it on a post paid, and then later cancelled, would I get the prepaid option back? Is there a expiration period on iPad data accounts or have I just bought a "cellphone" with a bad ESN more of less? I'll keep talking to Verizon because I know the problem is primarily on their end but they've always seemed inconsistant with information for the most part. If anyone has had a similar experience and has gotten help, please let me know how.

Restoring Device (set up as new)
General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
General>Reset>Subscriber Services>Reset Account
General>Reset>Subscriber Services>Reprovision Account
Followed by hard reset.

Just tried Settings > General > Reset > Erase al content and settings. Set up as new iPad. Still no luck.
This may not be the question for this forum, but do the Verizon Prepaid/Postpaid accounts expire when "delete account later" is selected? If so, how long does it take?

Verizon iPad 2 Does not work in Alaska

Well, yesterday I found out my Verizon iPad 2 will not connect with Verizon’s system in the State of Alaska (I work here but live in Oregon). No where in Verizon's or Apples web sites could I find a disclaimer that an entire State would be off limits.
It's not that there's not a signal to be had, Verizon iPhones work fine. It's that if you are a non contract customer ie: month to month, there policy will not allow you to connect.
Apple said they will refund my money and Verizon already has (Yes they allowed me to set up an account through the iPad while in Alaska & then denied me access.
I have not been able to contact AT&T to see if they have the same restrictions on service.
They (Apple/Verizon) should have a disclaimer about excluding a whole state from service before purchase...
& yes I consulted their coverage maps before buying... Every indication is there is coverage.

Verizon uses roaming through Alaska Communications System (ACS), which is probably why the month to month Verizon contract isn't compatible. Yes, Verizon should have a disclaimer, Apple on the other hand has no control over the cell phone carriers rules.
Although if Apple will refund you your iPad purchase that's good.
I don't believe AT&T has the same restrictions, they have their own towers and do not roam off an Alaskan phone company.
Verizon is coming to Interior Alaska by 2013 though, they are getting permits for putting up towers.

Many hotel chains do have wifi. Holiday inn, best western, the choice chain.
My experience is the swankier the hotel the less it offers. Hyatt caters to businessmen with expense accounts. They charge for everything. The more middle of the line hotels are pretty good with breakfast and wifi.
Course this also varies from location to location. Urban hotels are less amenity friendly than rural ones.
Many will tell you on their website what they have in the line of wifi.

You only have the option if you are already running iOS 5. If you are trying to update the iOS, you have to use iTunes on a computer to update the iPad.

Hotmail account not syncing properly

My hotmail account is not syncing properly with my iPhone - only the inbox folder is accessible and my calendar is not syncing with my iPad. Suggestions??

To be quite honest, I have no idea if I created my Hotmail account as an Exchange account (and unsure how to check on this!) However, I can tell you that my Hotmail inbox continues to update on my iPhone as I receive new emails. I'm just not seeing the other folders (i.e. Junk folder and the personalized folders I've created). Also, my calendar was previously working well. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what has happend to change this. Thanks for your response!

I have a Verizon iPad 3rd Gen. How on earth do I get it to work in Canada on Rogers or Telus or Bell? Telus micro sim starter kit does'nt work yet telus claimed it would. ROgers tells me I need to unlock it before it will work????? I thought the whole idea of having an ipad was being able to take it anywhere, much like apple advertises.

If you mean that it won't boot up, then assuming that the battery isn't empty (it can take about 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a soft-reset to see if that gets it to boot up ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo will hopefully appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Using Content / Structure Copy Breadcrumbs not displaying properly

MOSS 2007 SP2. Have some users who created some content on a test site and wanted to move it to a prodution site (same collection) and it appeared that everything is fine, only the breadcrumbs on the content pages copied over do not show properly or not at all.
Is there a way to refresh the breadcrumbs on content pages that have been copied to reflect the new URL?

Verizon FIOS Webmail - page not loading properly.

having an issue with the webmail. Accessing from work and the page does not load properly on IE. This happens every once in a while. I am not sure why. What causes this to malfunction every once in a while? The background doesnt load right and there is some overlapping of letters too. What's going on here?

Is this the first time you restarted the servers after the fresh installation? If no, then there must be for sure some changes done, were they? If yes, then the initial configuration was itself wrong, check the prerequisites before installing.
If not sure of all this then please raise an SR with oracle support.

Reset password, account not working properly

About a week ago my itunes forced me to reset my password. Since then iTunes seems to recognise my account as if it were two accounts (one from before the reset and one after). This means that I can no longer update my apps because it requires me to log on to 'the other account'... can someone please help me? I use my apps for my iphone which doesnt seem to resynch when i connect it to itunes but continues to use apps from 'both accounts'.

I have an iCloud account that is synced with my iPhone, and WAS also synced with my iPad. I no longer have my iPad (although I do have it registered under my apple id, serial number and all), but I was looking through my DRAFTS in my e-mail account and saw that the person that has my iPad had sent out an e-mail answering a Craigslist ad, and it clearly says at the bottom of the draft "SENT FROM MY iPAD." Since then, I have been unable to track my iPad through the Find My iPhone App, but I would like to find out if there's any way that I can have concrete proof that the e-mail was in fact sent from that iPad???? Please help! The iPad is still registered under my apple ID, so technically, I own it. I just don't want my personal information to be comrpomised, and if this person is using my e-mail address, I would like to take action. Thanks in advance for any input.

I doubt that there is any way to tell, and if there is, only Apple would be able to do this (but may require a court order to do so). You would have to contact Apple support to inquire further.
In the meantime, change your iCloud password here: https://iforgot.apple.com/iForgot/iForgot.html. After doing so, you will have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with your new password. This will delete the account and any data you are syncing with iCloud from your phone, but not from iCloud. Your data will be synced back to your phone when you sign back in.
Before deleting the account, if you have any photo stream photos that you want to save, save them to your camera roll by opening the my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll. This is necessary because when you reconnect to your photo stream, only photos added in the last 30 days will be streamed back to your device.

Using Mail in Tiger, Messages in .mac account not deleted

I have recently upgraded my Slot loading iMac to Tiger. I have had a .mac account for many years.
I'm just starting to use Mail in Tiger to see if I can filter the Junk mail. The filter training seems to work OK, but once I delete the Junk messages in Mail, a copy of the Junk stays on my .mac account.
To delete the Junk on .mac, in Mail I have clicked "synchronize .mac account" and also "Erase deleted messages .mac account", but it dosen't seem to work.
What am I doing wrong? Do I have to wait? Is there a time lag? Or am I just using the wrong tool?
I searched the discussions for this but could not find a smilar question.

I was not recommending any change, but only what was selected, to see if it might provide a clue -- it did not.
Create a New Mailbox, as On My Mac. Open the troublesome message (or highlight in the list of messages), and click Message, and in the pull-down choose Move Message, and target the New Mailbox you have just created.
Close Mail, and in Safari see if the message remains in the Inbox, on the server. If not, then in the Finder, open Home/Library/Mail/Mailboxes and find the New Mailbox you just created, and delete it.
Relaunch Mail, and see if any trace of the message remains. I have been researching some similar behavior with some bad acting messages, but not with an IMAP or .mac account, so I don't know if this will work, or not?
