Useful Life is required - Screen Layout

Hello SAP Guru,
Good day!
I have an issue while creating an asset under the Land Asset class. In transaction code OAYZ, I assigned 1000 screen Layout in Depreciation Area 01 Land asset class. Screen Layout 1000 has an optional setting for Useful life. However, when I create an asset under asset class Land, the system prompt me an error that Useful life is required.
Is there any configuration for the asset screenlayout? I do not find any set-up which makes UL requried field.
Your answer will be appreciated.

Go to Asset Master and identify DepKey
Identify Base method of the Dep Key
Go to SPRO-Financial Accounting (New)-Asset Accounting-Depreciation-Valuation Methods-Depreciation Key-Calculation Methods-Define Base Methods
Here for the above Base method...Identify the Dep Method...if it is % from useful life...you have to enter useful life in Asset Master.

    First you see the screen layout assigned to the asset. use AS02 goto Environment -Screen Layout-Select Master Data. See what screen layout is using.Go to the screen layout and check whether this filed is optional or supprsed, if it is supprsed than make it optional.

  • I want to create a new customized screen layout for responsive HTML5  output. I don't want to use the ones present in the gallery. What are the steps to do so?

    I don't wish to use the ones already present in the gallery. They do not meet my requirements. Therefore, I want to create/design my own screen layout for the responsive HTML5 output. Please let me know the steps to do so. How to create a SLZ file, what is the code that I need to write. What are the components that I need to create to have a complete screen layout to be used in a responsive HTML5 output.

    That would require inline formatting and I doubt that is an option.
    If I am following you, the header area is full width of the screen so I cannot see how it can be broader, Perhaps you mean deeper? A screenshot might help here. The change would be made in the layout.css file.
    That would be a change in the layout.css.
    I suspect that too is controlled by the layout.css.
    To make the changes you would have to go into the layout.css and modify that. As you will see, it is a very complex CSS and that is why I said creating you own layout is not easy. Hopefully when Willam is available again, he may be able to give you some more specific information.
    I think Willam will confirm that if you cannot read the existing CSS to make those changes, then creating your own skin would be beyond your capabilities. Please do not take any offence there, I am simply emphasising how complex a task it is to create a skin from scratch. It's not one I would take on.

  • How to make use of the 'Groups' in Screen Layout?

    Hi All,
    I have a screen with 10 input fields (F1, F2, .. F10).
    I set the 'Groups' attribute in the screen layout to 'DIS'.
    How could I make use of this 'Groups' attribute so that when I loop the screen, I will only disable fields with the 'Groups' attribute set to 'DIS'? Thanks
    I tried the following codes, but it's not working:
      LOOP AT SCREEN.
        IF SCREEN-GROUPS IS NOT 'DIS'.
          SCREEN-INPUT = '1'.
          MODIFY SCREEN.
        ENDIF.
      ENDLOOP.
    It says ==> The data object 'SCREEN' does not have a component called 'GROUPS'.

    In the Attributes of a screen field, there is an attribute called "Groups". This has 4 options for input (4 text boxes)
    SCREEN has 4 fields GROUP1, GROUP2, GROUP3 and GROUP4.
    The first text box under Groups attribute corresponds to SCREEN-GROUP1,
    2nd text box for SCREEN-GROUP2
    3rd text box for SCREEN-GROUP3
    4th text box for SCREEN-GROUP4

  • Depriciation key and useful life periods in asset master should in display mode only

    Hi all
    At the time of creation asset master AS01 we are given the Asset class, company code and similar of asset (1) then we click enter button we will get Create asset: master data screen here in general tab we enter the description and in time dependent tab we enter cost center manually
    But
    When we click on Depreciation tab here the  Depreciation key and use life fields are automatically come with Dep.key(ABC) and use life(15) (Because we maintained in OAYZ)
    Here user have a chance to change the Dep.key(ABC) and use life(15).so my requirement is these two fields are display with only display mode .
    User don’t have chance to modify this.

    The screen layout for Asset and its depreciation tab are different. You have to make these fields as Display only in the screen layout. This can be done using T-Code AO21. Below are the screenshots for the path and screen layout for your reference. This should solve your issue

  • Making Useful life field optional in Asset master creation(AS01)

    Hi all,
    I want to make 'Useful life' field in 'Depreciation area' tab as optional in AS01 (Asset master).
    1. I made the screen layout changes using AO21 and made Useful life optional
    2. I assigned the above screen layout in OAYZ
    Despite doing this, during asset master creation, the field still shows as 'Required' and not as 'optional'.
    Am I missing anything else?  Kindly provide some pointers.

    Please check your depreciation key. If your depreciation is based on useful life, the key is required regardless the field status.

  • Screen Layout Field in the Asset Master Record

    What is the use of the screen in the asset master record, ANLA-FELEI?
    We have some assets where there are different values between this screen layout and the screen layout defined at the asset class (i.e. through configuration).
    It seems the one defined within the asset class takes precedence.

    Scree Layout controls the diplay of fields, it may not be necessary for a user to use all the fileds provided by SAP. Hence the options like Required, Optional and Suppress are used to control the screen diplay and the TABs to be displayed based on the need.
    Asses within the same class will have same fields since the screen layout are assigned to an Asset class.
    Scree layout for the Tab Depreciation Area can also be controlled with the screen layout defied for the Depreciation Area.  With this one can have different screen layouts per dep. area.

  • How to create new field groups in AA master data screen layout?

    We are using ECC 6.0
    We have created bunch of new fields for asset master data, but we want to make them visible only for particular asset class. So we need to customize in SPRO Asset Master Data Screen Layout, but there no specific field groups that we can customize. So how to create and add new field groups to manage them by radiobuttons Required, Optional, No or Display?

    There are some fields that can be made mandatory using Field Selection for Notification & Order.
    Some fields should be made mandatory using development (User Exit IPRM0004)

  • FI-AA NO Expired useful life

    Hi 各位，
    2011资产年结后，修改成了新的资产年度，但所有2011年12月入账的，2012年01月开始折旧的资产都需要没有 Expired useful life in years at start of the fiscal year/Period ，老是提示为必输项目，这两个栏位。
    不知道什么原因，请各位看看.

    你可以通过更改折旧领域的画面设置，把这两个项目不显示。
    AS02  -> Menu: Environment -> screen layout -> depreciation areas -> select a screen layout -> double click on ‘field group rules’ -> set field group ’19 Expired useful life’ and ’20 Exprd Life -Periods’ in ‘No display’.

    If you go to IMG (Transaction SPRO) :-
    -> Financial Accounting
    -> Asset Accounting
    -> Master Data
    -> Screen Layout
    -> Define Screen Layout for Asset Depreciation Areas
    -> ScrnLayout XXXX
    -> Field group rules
    Here, you will find whether column 'Class' is activated -> it should be activated

  • FB60 User freindly screen layouts

    Dear all
    We have following requirement from client.  Your advices highly appreciated here...
    At T.Code FB60 "Enter Vendor Invoice......"  SAP standard screen provides Vendor details section at top and GL line items section at bottom as a table.  I know how to modify fields at GL line item table with the help of "Screen and Transaction variants".  
    However,  at Vendor details screen tabs.  there are total 5 tabs available for different information (like Basic data, Payment, Details, Tax and Notes).  At present client uses very few feilds of all these tabs.. like  5 feilds at Basic data,  2 feilds at Payment tab, one feild at Details tab  and so..
    User need to go to each tab separately to enter these feilds and there are many other feilds where users never enter data.
    Client requirement is make invisible all un-used feilds and provide all feilds which are frequently used at one screen instead of seperate tabs.
    We have knowledge that this requirement can be met with the help of "GUIXT " product.  but,  client is not ready to use GUIXT  product here.
    Can you help me, is there any other way of meeting this requirement ?

    Please use the account group with screen layout for vendors to define which filed is required/invisible or not.The path to make the changes is
    SPRO:Sap reference IMG: Financial Accounting: Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable: Vendor Accounts: Master Data: Preparation for creating Vendor Master Data: Define Accounts Group with Screen Layout.

  • Additional field(company code) in purchase order screen layout

    I have a requirement to set the company code in Purchase order as display field during PO creation or change.
    I have checked in IMG under screen layout for purchase order but  there is no company code field available.
    How can I add the additional field into the screen layout.

    <b>Where</b> exactly you want to set the Company Code field in the Purchase order? Actually this field is already available under <b>Org.data</b> tab in the Purchase Order Creation transaction (ME21N), so you may not require to set the Company Code again.
    Which version of SAP R/3 you are using?

  • Purchasing Info record screen layout not working for ME11

    Dear All Experts,
    I got requirement where GR Based IV and GR should be required for one vendor. So htought to create PIR from where I can make these two fields DEFAULT. So I went to table T162 from where I can make these two fields mandatory for ME11.
    I followed the path : SPRO - Materials Management - Purchasing - Prcahsing Info Record - Define Screen Layout for making fields mandatory for ME11.
    It is not working at all, as well I can see rest irrelevant fields which are not of my use are required. Have I missed any piece of configuration somewhere in MM ?
    Experts guidance from forum will be very much appreciable.

    HI,
    as you know we can create purchasing info record manually as well as automatic at time of Po creation
    If you mark it in ME11 manually it will be helpful to you
    or you can mark its required field in Vendor master record as well for your vendor account group in following path.
    Logistic general - Bunisess partner -vendors > control > define accont groups and field selection > select your account goups and click on details and double click on purchase data and check for "GR based invoice verification" and mark required field

  • Useful life is asking mandatory field in asset master data

    while asset master creation useful life is asking mandatory field in dep.key : ZSLU. actually i have to give "ZERO" in useful life field. i have set screen layout in AO21 also.again asking mandatory field. I got the one point, I think this is the problem,
    Note: Base method 0011 (Ordinary: percentage from useful life) already assigned in dep. Key ZSLU. If we assigned in dep. key ZSLU, we should give positive values for useful life in asset master data.
    I changed base method 0002 instead of 0011, it was accepted, If i change base method(0011),
    i want base method instead of 0011?
    which base method i have to give? please give suggestion?

    i have changed optional field also. it's asking mandatory, i have tested base method 0002 instead of 0011. if i give 0002 or other base method, it is accepting.
    Note: if we mention base method 0011, we must give passitive values in useful life.
    what i have to do? please tell me?
