Useful UI components

Hello everyone,
are there some known WDA components that can be used to improve the UI like ALV and Select Options?
Thanks in advance,
Alej

Hello everyone,
thanks for your quick responses!
Of course I've searched already via the Repository Infosystem and the Class Builder, but that's like looking for a needle in a haystack. Also I'm not looking for documentation on the default UI elements that are already available via the toolbox. I'm especially looking for WDA components that represent UI elements that are a little bit special and not available from the WDA layout editor like WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS and SALV_WD_TABLE.
I hope I could clarify my request.
Thanks again and best regards,
Alej

  • I can't use swing components in my applets

    When I write an applet without any swing components, my browser never has any trouble finding the classes it needs, whether they're classes I've written or classes that came with Java. However, when I try to use swing components it cannot find them, because it is looking in the wrong place:
    On my computer I have a directory called C:\Java, into which I installed my Java Development Kit (so Sun's classes are stored in the default location within that directory, wherever that is), and I store my classes in C:\Java\Files\[path depends on package]. My browser gives an error message along the lines of "Cannot find class JFrame at C:\Java\Files\javax\swing\JFrame.class"; it shouldn't be looking for this non-existent directory, it should find the swing components where it finds, for example, the Applet class and the Graphics class.
    Is there any way I can set the classpath on my browser? Are the swing components stored separately from other classes (I'm using the J2SE v1.3)?
    Thanks in advance.

    Without having complete information, it appears that you are running your applets using the browser's VM. Further, I assume you are using either IE or Netscape Navigator pre-v6. In that case, your browser only supports Java 1.1, and Swing was implemented in Java 1.2. You need to use the Java plug-in in order to use the Swing classes (see the Plug-in forum for more information), or else download the Swing classes from Sun and include them in your CLASSPATH.

  • How to use "used webdynpro components" in nwds 7.0

    hi all,
    I am using NWDS 7.0 SP8 version. I want to use my local DC1 in my local DC2. I have created public part of DC1 and integrated it into DC2 as used DC. But when I try to add the webdynpro component from the Used Webdynpro Components of DC2, I am not able to view the DC1component. Plz let me know the procedures that I need to follow to fix this issue.
    Regards,
    Athulya.

    hi
    i will mention the steps that I have done for the same.
    1. Create DC1- LocalDevelopmentdc1sap.com
        . Create PP(Provides an API)->PP_DC1
        . Webdynpro Component->DC1Comp->Add as Source
        . Finish
        . Rebuild
        . Deploy
    2. Create DC2- LocalDevelopmentdc2sap.com
        . Right Click Used Dc's- Selected PP_DC1(Build, Run)
        . Finish
        . DC->Build
        . Right Click Used Webdynpro Components->Add Webdynpro Component->
                                                                       Browse->Can find only DC2Comp....
    Plz correct me if I have done something wrong.

  • How to use an existing data model using Business Components in OEPE

    I am a beginner in ADF. I am working on a project with an existing data model that uses Business Components (EO, VO and AM). I know that OEPE does not handle the creation of BC, so if I want to modify them, I will have to do that in JDev. That's fine.
    OEPE can create pages with drag and drop like in JDev. In my eclipse ADF projects, I would like to use the existing BC, to be able to use the bindings with ADF Faces. So far I have nothing in the Data Controls tab.
    How to import the BC into the Data Controls tab?
    JDev 11.1.1.6
    WLS 10.3.6
    Eclipse Kepler

    We currently don't support DataControls based on the ADF BC technology. We will consider such support if there is a strong interest in that use case.
    Independent of the IDE's you use, there are ways to expose services based on ADF BC that can then be consumed by the view layer. A Google search will point you to some of the approaches.
    HTH. Thanks for your interest in OEPE.

  • Why do we need a Self Reference "me" to use the components of a class

    Hi
    I am not clear why do we need a self reference variable "me" to call the components of its own class? when it can be accessed directly as in the following examples?
    In my first example below i can call the method display_name directly without creating a reference object or instance of the class within the class.
    In the second example i am using the self refernce Write me->name to access the component of a class.
    My question is why do we need "me" when i can use the components directly as shown in my first example.

    You can go WIKI and search with ABAP Objects.

  • Using mx components in Action Script project in Flash Builder

    Hi
    I have created an Action Script project in flash builder 4 and want to use a mx.controls.button.
    The as file looks like this:
    package
        import flash.display.Sprite;
        import mx.controls.Button;
        public class as_test_project extends Sprite
            public function as_test_project()
                var btn:Button = new Button();
                btn.label = "test";
                addChild(btn);
    I have added C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4\sdks\4.0.0\frameworks\projects\framework\src as a Source Path in the project settings. I have also added framework.swc to the library path.
    I still get errors like :
    Description    Resource    Path    Location    Type
    Unable to resolve resource bundle "core" for locale "en_US".    as_test_project        Unknown    Flex Problem
    Have then tried added various Bundles folders like
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4\sdks\4.0.0\frameworks\projects\framework\bundles
    to the source path and library path, but I still get the errors.
    WHAT IS THE CORRECT WAY OF USING MX COMPONENTS IN A PURE ACTION SCRIPT PROJECT ?
    If I want to use th fl.controls componets instead but dont have CS3 where can I download them ?

    Thank you for your quick reply.
    But how then can I obtain the fl.controls components and use them in an Action
    Script project in Flash Builder 4?
    I don't have CS3 or CS4 (the flash authoring tool) installed.
    Is there an SWC somewhere to be downloaded?

  • How to display the Current Date on page using ADF Components

    Hi,

    You might want to try in the flexCoders Yahoo! group.

  • Issues in ADF mobile application using Trinidad components

    I am facing the following issues when developing a mobile application using trinidad components :
    Jdev version : 11.1.1.6
    1) I dont see a date component using trinidad components? The dev guide http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/web.1111/e10140/sup_comp.htm says that tr:inputDate is supported but when i try to drag a data field to jsf page i don't see an option for Trinidad date component. so i went ahead and created an af:inputDate in the page. But the date selection dialog doesnt open up.
    2) i tried using 'Rendered' for conditional rendering of a component but it does not work or refresh immediately, the same problem is solved in my adf application using visible property but looks like there is no 'Visible' property for Trinidad components. any work around?
    3) i wanted to have a 'create insert' call in my task flow before launching the page. Since Task flows are not supported in ADF mobile application, i have added 'ADF Faces' also into my project and created task flow and jsff page as i do for a adf web application the only diff being the usage of trinidad components in my jsff page. is this fine? Also can we mix trinidad components and adf components into the same page?
    4) I have a tr:inputText on a clob input text field which i am updating in ADF page using a clob converter class. Same thing i cannot do for trinidad text as it is resulting in null pointer exception. any solution to update clob fields into database which uses tr:inputText compents.
    Help to solve any one of the above issues (by quoting serial no) would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

    Having installed on a Windows XP english OS the asian languages packs (with fonts included, from Microsoft) and knowing that with MS Gothic, Gulim and Simsun you can display japanese, korean and chinese characters it seems that on JRE 1.5 and up this is not possible (boxes appear instead) on any applet.
    How to reproduce:
    Label l2 = new Label("Japanese chars: \u8457\u4f5c\u6a29");
    Workaround:
    Step 1. Rename ..\jre\lib\fontconfig.properties.src to &hellip;&hellip;\fontconfig.properties
    Step 2. Modify the following line:
    sequence.allfonts=alphabetic/default,dingbats,symbol
    to
    sequence.allfonts=alphabetic/default,dingbats,symbol,japanese,chinese-ms936,chinese-ms950,korean
    How is this possible? On JRE 1.4 this was working. Also another fix is to use Swing components instead but this is not realistic for a big project.
    Any help will be greatly apprecied.

    The problem is related to the JRE v. 1.5.0_11 or greater. In JRE 1.4.2_13 for each language there was a configuration file that Java was using to determine which fonts to use for different categories of objects.
    The problem is encountered only for AWT components.
    Starting with JRE 1.5 (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/intl/fontconfig.html) there is only one configuration file (fontconfig.properties.src) for all the languages. Since the character subsets supported by given fonts often overlap, in the file separate search sequence properties are used to define in which order to try the fonts when rendering a character. In the default version of the file this properties do not specify also the asian languages.
    We have to do the following things:
    *1.* You must first install into Windows the support for asian languages: Control Panel - > Regional and Language Options
     On the Advanced tab add the conversion tables for all Asian languages (this action may not be required).
     On the Languages tab check Install files for East Asian Languages (this action is required)
    Restart the computer.
    *2.* Assure you have the needed asian fonts : batang(fopr korean), simsun, gulim, mingliu, msgothic(for japanese) installed.
    *3.* Rename ...\jre\lib\fontconfig.properties.src to \jre\lib\fontconfig.properties. By doing this the fontconfig.properties file will be used by the JRE as the default configuration file.
    *4.* Modify the following line:
    sequence.allfonts=alphabetic/default,dingbats,symbol
    to
    sequence.allfonts=alphabetic/default,dingbats,symbol,japanese,chinese-ms936,chinese-ms950,korean
    *5.* Assure that in the file the logical to physic font binding, binds to existing fonts.
    Obs: If step 1 is skipped the titles of the windows will still have boxes.
    Hope it helps.

  • DCs being removed from 'Used WebDynpro Components' list

    Hi,
    I am having a problem while creating a project from an already activated DC. The DC uses 6 other DCs and was built properly, activated and deployed from a client machine. Now I need to have this DC in my machine (also a client). So I made sure the DC is built & synced properly and proceeded with the project creation from the inactive DC.
    The DC is getting created in my machine, but the Used DCs, though being shown properly in the 'Used DCs' List is missing from the 'Used WebDynpro Components'. And if I try to add a new DC under the 'Used WD Comp' list or edit the component usage of an existing DC, the added DCs are not available for selection.
    <a href="http://img85.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dcerror1ac.gif">Error Screenshot</a>
    I have tried removing and adding the DCs from 'Used DCs' list, reopened the project, restarted the NDS, did a sync, but nothing could help me to resolve this.
    Could someone kindly help me to resolve this ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Nibu.

    Hi Pran,
    As you already know now, the problem has been resolved :). But for the benefit of others like me let me put down what happened:
    On seeing Pran's reply, Since he is an acquaintance of mine, I called him up & explained my problem.
    As per his advice, I checked the DTR and found that the entire DC structure has been added there. But from him I could learn that only the following folders/files should be in DTR:
    - cfg
    - def
    - Meta-Inf
    - Model Folder
    - src
    - test
    - .dcdef file
    Therefore, the rest of the folders/files were deleted and the activity was checked-in. This resolved the problem and all the missing DCs were being shown again.
    Pran, Thanks a lot for your help.
    Best Regards,
    Nibu.

  • How to use Flex Components with Flash?

    Hi!!
    I found a lot of very useful components in the web, but they are all for  Flex, is it possible to use Flex Components with Flash IDE?
    Thanks !!!
    jenry
    PS: this is one of the components I need to use (a tree with checkbox  nodes)
    http://www.sephiroth.it/file_detail.php?pageNum_comments=30&id=151
    another one:
    http://www.darronschall.com/weblog/2006/09/a-flex-2-checked-tree-control-component.cfm

    Flex components are delivered as SWCs just like Flash components, but the
    SWC format is incompatible with the Flash IDE.
    Also, the default fl.. components in the Flash IDE are incompatible with
    Flex components.
    You should be able to load a Flex SWF into a Flash SWF as long as you aren't
    using fl.. components in the Flash SWF.  If the Flex SWF overlays things
    in your Flash SWF then it might block interaction, but otherwise it
    shouldn't.  I don't think the statement you quoted is true for all
    configurations.
    But loading a Flex SWF into a Flash SWF isn't going to help you use those
    Flex components from your Flash IDE.  Try Flash Builder 4 to build out the
    Flex portion of your application.  I haven't tried it myself, but it I think
    it is supposed to have better integration with Flash.

  • When we will be able to use AJAX components inside a portlet?

    Hi
    Thank you for reading my post
    when we will be able to use AJAX components inside a portlet?
    thanks

    I noticed the failure of the portlet to load its needed JavaScript files. Are there additional problems with the Ajax components running inside a portlet? Using the weblets project seemed like one approach to dealing with the resource loading problem.

  • Using Flash Components in multiple SWCs inside AS-only project

    Ok, this is a somewhat complicated issue dealing with SWCs and compilers. I've outlined steps to reproduce the problem below. I'm using the method outlined here to bring in Flash content to my project. I have 15-20 SWCs already, and it's working fine for those assets, the problem is specifically related to Flash's components (ComboBox, RadioButton etc.) If anyone has *any* advice on this, please let me know as we are completely stumped at this point!
    The issue we're having involves using multiple external SWC files which contain AS3 components from Flash CS4. When two SWCs are linked to an ActionScript project (using Flash Builder 4 Beta (build 4.0.0)) there are collisions in the referenced classes which cause the most recently published SWC to knock out any duplicate classes in the other SWCs. A simple way to replicate this is as follows:
    1. Create one FLA, called 'compA', drag one ComboBox, RadioButton and TextInput component onto the stage. Select all and convert to symbol, marking the symbol for export with a class name of Test1.
    2. Create a second FLA, called 'compB', drag one ComboBox, Label and UIScrollbar onto the stage. Convert these to a symbol with a classname of 'Test2'.
    3. Create a new ActionScript-only project in Flash Builder, called 'ComponentTest'.
    4. Create a 'libs' folder in this new project. Select 'Project -> Properties -> ActionScript Build Path' and add the libs folder as a new SWC folder in the Library Path window.
    5. Go back to compA.fla and right click the Test1 symbol in the library. Select 'Export SWC file...' and save it as compA.swc in the libs folder.
    6. Do the same thing for compB.fla.
    7. Edit ComponentTest.as and in the constructor, create an instance of Test1 and Test2, placing each on the stage.
    8. Run the app, and the ComboBox will only be functional in one instance (whichever was published last.) The other ComboBox will behave like a MovieClip, cycling over the two frames in the stage asset (avatar and skin.) It will have no association to anything in the fl.* package.
    Looking at the 'Referenced Libraries' in Flash Builder, compA may show it contains classes for the RadioButton and TextInput, but no ComboBox classes are referenced (sometimes it will show no classes at all, but this appears to be an unrelated bug with refreshing external libraries in Flash Builder.)
    Unzipping the SWC files and examining their catalog.xml manifests shows all the necessary classes are listed (i.e. ComboBox is in both.)
    Removing either SWC will cause the remaining one to work properly, so the problem appears to be in compiling the ComponentTest project which includes both.
    Attempted Workarounds:
    1. Create a new FLA, drag all components used in both files onto the stage and export a SWC called 'components.swc'. Add this SWC to the project's libs folder. In both compA and compB FLA files, add this SWC as an external library in the ActionScript 3.0 Publish settings. Re-export both SWCs. The theory is that the compiler will look for the required classes in the components.swc first, and thus not include them in the export, however this is not the case.
    2. Same as above, deleting ComponentShim from both FLAs before exporting. The result is that no component classes are included, so all components act like MovieClips.
    3. Add the Components source folder to the external library path of both FLAs, assuming the compiler will favor classpath references over compiled class references (ComponentShim). Same result.
    Summary: We have been unable to find a way to use Flash Components in a project if they are referenced in more than one asset library. If we were able to import them once, and have all SWCs which need those classes use a single source, this might not be an issue, but the compiler does not appear to handle this (and we are admittedly not advanced enough to even know if this is possible.)

    Hi!
    I'm having the same problem. Any news on the matter?
    Also, this looks like a very similar problem.
    Best regards,
    X_AmonPL.

  • Compiling with mxmlc Using CS3 Components

    Hi, I would like to use the Flex SDK 3.0 to compile a project
    which currently compiles successuflly in Flash CS3 (because it's
    quicker). I am importing assets from swfs using [Embed ...] tags
    without any problems. I can also use CS3 components by exporting
    them to an SWC file, adding that to the library path for mxmlc and
    then reating new instances of them in AS. However, I have some
    assets which contain components which were statically placed within
    them in the CS3 IDE and given an instance name. These are not
    working. For example, the buttons I have typed as
    fl.controls.Button in the AS code but I get a run time error saying
    that it can't coerce a MovieClip instance into a Button. Does
    anyone have any ideas? The CS3 compiler is driving me nuts because
    it's so slow. I used to use MTASC and am looking for something
    similar to work with AS 3.0.

    I agree that compiler is painfully slow, especially when you use a library and have some (one is enough) projects dependendant upon it. Minor change in library starts compiling everything for a few minutes . This really slows development process in later stages. Adobe should do something about this.
