Useing firefox i canot connect to mainfraim in farm town, but i can on explorer. what is causing this?
i have updated firefox, updated or installed java (JRE), and it still does not work. i keep geting a message "could not connect to game server. error UOO" but it works fine with explorer.
With Amazon on display, click on the [[site identity button]] and then on More Information. This will open up the page info dialog.
First select the Permissions panel, make sure that "Load Images" is set to allow (selecting Use Default should also work)
Next select the Media panel, then click on the first item in the list. Use the down arrow key to scroll through the list. If any item has the option "Block images from (domain name)" selected, de-select the option.
This should hopefully resolve your issue, but also see [[Images or animations do not show]].
Some add-ons can also block images, for example if you have AdBlock Plus installed, make sure that you have not accidentally created a filter to block the images.

Hi, I have recently got myself a second hand computer MAC OS X Version 10.4.11,Processor 800 MHz PowerPC G4. Have only used windows before. Unfortunately I managed to uninstall Adobe but now can't seem to reinstall as this an older computer and is not compatible with the new versions. Windows or apple it makes no difference, if you don't have the install discs you can't install.
Did you buy the machine with Adobe (you don't say what adobe program you're talking about) installed? If so the vendor should have given you the discs or else it's technically a pirated copy. If you're talking about acrobat (which is free) then you should be able to find older versions on the adobe site. -
When watching a dvd on the TV that I burned using idvd, there are intermittent sound glitches spaced throughout a 30 minute slide show. There will be about 3 or 4, they last for a a couple of seconds, then the show resumes. What is causing this and is there something I can do to fix this. The show works perfectly on the computer.

the free space is way to low ! ! should be minimum 25Gb for iDVD to work as intended
b. In iDVD 1-6 You can't set burn speed - it read from DVD discs and x16 is way
to high to get an usable result. (In iDVD08 this can be set to x1)
Way around:
• In iDVD save as DiskImage (File menu and down)
TEST this with Apple DVD-player.
• If it doesn't play OK try to use another encoder
• I use Best Performance - avoids the Best Quality though I don't think it is
(In iDVD08 there is Pro Quality - I love it.)
• Burn this to a DVD WITH Apple Disk Util tool where You can set burn speed
or use Roxio Toast™ My favourite way - so easy.

I'm sorry to hear your having issues with your S5. I would be happy to look into this with you. Are there different apps on both devices? Do either device auto play videos when opening apps? While browsing on safari earlier today I had about 10 tabs open some with YouTube.
I was on a flash website browsing and the system froze and the spinning wheel came Up on the mouse.
I tried to move the mouse to get to the force quit in safari but then the mouse froze too, after a minute I held down the power button and turned off the laptop.
Now I tried to turn it back on, it turns on and loads up as far as the white screen with the grey apple logo and goes no further?
What does this mean, how can I solve it? I'm in panic as all of my school notes are on it, any help or advice would be muh appreciated!Do you have backups of all the data on the startup drive? If not, do nothing else until you've backed up that data, if you still can.

Wireless connects and I get an IP, but I can't ping anything
Alright so I installed Arch on an ION330HT, to find the wireless won't connect. I've run Arch on it before and it worked perfectly so I'm unsure what's going wrong. I have the exact same net-auto-wireless config file that I have on my other machines, so I'm sure it's not a problem with the configuration. I've tried doing it manually as per the instructions on the wiki, to no avail. I've checked the logs, and the machine receives an IP address, so I know it sees the network in some way.
The only thing I've noticed, is that the output of iwconfig has the line "Encryption key:off" in it, where as other machines don't - I'm thinking this is the issue, but I can't imagine what could cause this.
Any help would be great.Alright, update. I left it pinging the router before I left home this morning, and I've just checked - out of 40,000 packets sent, 75% were lost. So traffic WAS getting through - so much so that doing pacman -Sy actually worked, although it was very slow. I recently bought a new router, that was much better than my old router, the key difference between the two being that the new one has wireless n support, where as the old one was b/g only. It was set to g/n only, so I switched it over to b/g only - it's connecting to the stage that I can ping outside addresses immediately now, however it's very slow - I get about 25 KB/s. I'm letting it crawl along at the moment, downloading 62mb of updates - maybe an update will solve this issue.

The wifi card is an AR9285 (Atheros), no mention of any non-standard setup that I could find. There was some talk about wifi being slow for one user on the Ubuntu forums - they were advised to ditch wifi and use ethernet instead.

So, the card worked in the past, but maybe this time you've forgotten to load or configure a module that you previously used. Or maybe a kernel update introduced a new bug? I would at least search the web to see whether things have changed in the Linux world, and maybe jog my memory in case I forgot something. There's no excuse for not stfwing before starting a new thread.
Yeah I did, I've found talk about an issue that seems very close to mine - http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?t=63642 however no solution was ever reached. They came to the same conclusions that I mentioned earlier - connecting in b/g mode instead of n mode works, but is still very slow.

In addition to /dev/zero's request for the output of ip route, can you ping 192.168.1.4? If not, can you ping localhost? As a sanity check, are you sure your router is not at 192.168.1.1 ?
I can ping both 192.168.1.4 and localhost just fine. The router is definitely not 192.168.1.1, I've connected to it at 192.168.1.254 to change wireless settings today. Not going crazy yet -

I get prompts from time to time that large amounts of Mb are being used what is causing this?
I am getting prompts that my Mb usage is very high and I should close Firefox and open it again. Can you tell me what is causing this and how to prevent this in the future? Is it possible I need to "delete" Firefox and download it again? Thank you
There is a known issue where multiple instances of plugin container open if history or cookies are cleared. Are you, or some utility clearing firefox cookies or history, that could be the reason. This problem continues even if plugins are disabled in Firefox.
*Are you opening multiple instances of Flash Player ?
* Is the problem reproducible ? <br/> for instance does it always crash the plugin or cause it to hang if you use a particular site ?
If you get the FlashPlayer plugin crashing use the option to submit the crash reports, it is then possible to follow them up. It is possible to stop the plugincontainer opening, but that could result in a firefox crash. Of course the firefox crash can also send crash reports out, and that could be useful.

There are some problems with FlashPlayer currently under investigation, and there may be other threads in the forum about problems. (e.g. Bug 561019 - Plugin waveOutOpen hangs )
Sometimes using Firefox 3.6 is a workaround that helps with FlashPlayer problems, if you wish to experiment with that consider installing firefox Portable and using Firefox 3.6.23 (or soon 3.6.24) for tests with flash player, whilst keeping firefox 7 for day to day browsing.

My ipod has been working fine until now and i have tried re- setting the network settings and all the other options that have been given but nothing seems to make any difference. If i try to get onto internet at all on my ipod, for instance, facebook and safari it will just come up no internet connection, even when the bar is full at the top. Can anyone help ?
Despite the WiFi sign at the top you may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPod a valid IP address. To check on this go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address shown starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix for this can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPod (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If this problem continues you should test your iPod on some other networks. Since you say your iPod was "working fine" either it or your router may have developed a hardware problem. If the iPod works OK on other networks your router may have a problem.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc. -
Kernel_task using 16 Million Terabytes of memory - what's causing this?
According to Activity Monitor kernel_task is using 16,777,216 TB of virtual memory.
Obviously, there is some (overflow?) bug somewhere (is that number the maximum allowable memory on a 64-bit system?), and Virtual Memory doesn't really mean much in the real world, but is there a way to track down what is causing this, given that kernel_task going wrong can bring down the whole system.
This reappears after a restart - and in fact for the first time in memory my computer locked up a few days ago, so I'm wondering if there is a connection.

I am trying to set up using my printer wirelessly through airport. I have a macbook and my husband can print wirelessly from his Macbook Pro but I can't. What do I have to do to set mine up? The printer is an Epson R2400
Is there a cd that came with the printer?
If so, put in the cd and that will help you set it up.
If not, I think macs come with a program that helps you set up printers.
Also make sure that the printer is connected to the same network.
