Useless jwsdp 1.5 installer - 19MB wasted download

All i needed is the JSTL jar ...and for that I needed to download a 19MB file in Unix .sh format...which then doesnt even install.
It tries first to access an X display ..that's just great for unix servers guys - well done.
So you have to tell it to run in console mode, "./jwsdp-1_5-unix.sh -console" and then after going through a lame an irrelevant install process (I have many JDKs and app servers installed on each server, I dont want to tell jwsdp about them for god's sake) it ends up by doing nothing. No files extracted, nada.
I then downloaded the M$ version (another 17 MB) to install it on an old M$ laptop to get a couple of jar files....and it took ages "scanning disks for a jvm" ..which eventually failed.
What the hell is happening to you?

Yeah, they are putting JSTL in with their Web Service Deployment Pack. If you just want JSTL, go to the source: http://jakarta.apache.org/taglibs/
Apache codes it. Sun just comes up with the specs (and distributes it bundled with other stuff. Just like they make the JSP spec, but don't implement it themselves...)

How do I change the settings on my Macbook Pro to allow an installation of a download?

Under Security & Privacy under System Preferences, check to see what settings you have for "Allow Applications downloaded from..." to select your safest settings. I have mine checked for App Store and Identified developers. You can change it to "Anywhere" to be able to access anything. You should be able to install even with these settings: you'll just have to authenticate with an admin password.

    Please help.

Hello @matthewlmcclure , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand you're having issues scanning.  I'd like to help!
I have a few steps I'd recommend. Now, I know you've already installed and run your updates, but I would recommend repairing the disk permissions, and the best way to go about is as follows:
I would suggest deleting the printer from your print system, using this document: Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once you have deleted it, I would suggest verifying and repairing the disk permissions: About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature.
I would also suggest running your Apple updates:  OS X: Updating OS X and Mac App Store apps
After the updates, I would recommend reinstalling the printer:

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • I need Photoshop CS5.5 installer - where to download?

I am getting this: "One or more files in the Adobe Application Support folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing.  Please run the Photoshop installer and re-install Photoshop." when I try to run my copy of PS5.5. Er... where do I find the installer? The download does not appear to be available anywhere on the Adobe site.

If you no longer have a access to your Creative Suite 5.5 install files then please follow the steps listed at http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs5-5-direct-download-links.html to download Photoshop CS5.1.  Please make sure to follow the Very Important Instructions section prior to scrolling down and clicking on the download links.
I would also recommend making a back up of the installation files in case you need them again in the future.

Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages.  They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3.  If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.
    or dl directly from prodesigntools.com:
if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here:  Download Adobe CS6 Trials: Direct Links (no Assistant or Manager) | ProDesignTools
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a problem starting the download, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com or initiates the download of an incorrect (eg, current) version.

  • Installation Failed The download appears corrupted

I have been trying to download photoshop CC for 5 days. It always fails. with the exact same message: "Installation Failed the Download appears corrupted. Please try again after a few minutes. (-60).
I have chatted two to two help agents and spoke on the phone to another. Everything they have tried has failed. Then they tell me that they are going to escalate the problem and no one calls me back. When I call I get the same low level agent, who can't solve my problem and gets fed up with me only to tell me that they will "escalate" my problem. Escalate apparently means send me to a black hole.
Tonight agent, "Dashmip" told me that I could install Photoshop Cs6 and it would magically heal to CC. When this did not work, he told me that he would 'escalate'  problem. Why am I paying so much per month for a program that I can't install!
Can anyone out there help me?

Try downloading the installer from http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-direct-download-links.html
Make sure you follow the Very Important Instructions before clicking on the download link.

  • Cannot Delete Adobe Reader 9 Installer after failed download

I tried to download Adobe Reader 9 and the installation froze around 83%.  After multiple attempts I tried downloading an older version (Adobe 8) and it worked but the installation folder for Adobe 9 is still on my desktop and it will not let me delete it. I have already tried using the Windows Install cleanup tool but it did not work. Any other ideas on how I can get rid of this installation program?

Thanks.. I managed to find a way to make it work.. I had no Adobe Reader in my list of programs when I went to Start | Control Panel | Add/Remove..  I took a  chance and deleted Acrobat.com.. that allowed me to reload the latest v of Reader.  I hope it didn't mess anything else up.

I had same situation. Was able to delete by the following: (don't know why)
In Windows Explorer dragged the Adobe AIR folder from Desktop to another folder (which
removed it from the desk top display). Then just deleted it from the other folder.
    Hope it works for you.

  • JWSDP 1.6 Installations stalls for hours

    Hi,
As a newbie to web services, I wanted to try out web services. And so, I downloaded the Java Application Server ver 8.1 and JWSDP 1.6. Installation for the Application Server was smooth. However, this was not so for the JWSDP 1.6. After waiting for hours and hours (installation stalled at 98% stating 'Please wait while the technologies are integrated into the Web Container. This may take 5 minutes or more'), nothing happened. Why is this so? Is there anything else that must be installed before installing the JWSDP? So far I had been waiting for 7 hours and still nothing. So much for 5 minutes! Thanks in advance!

Hi I have seen the same behavior, did you ever find a work around?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ernie

  • Windows Installer failure during download of iTunes 10.5.  Why is this happening?

I'm trying to update to the newest version of iTunes, and I get all the way through the process until the very end.  I then get a message "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A Program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."   I checked to be sure I an up to date with all of my Microsoft updates, so I don't think that is the problem.  Tried to download a couple of times, and keep getting this message.  Not very tech-minded, so maybe I'm skipping an important step, but I have loaded newer versions in the past with no problem.  Help, please!

Go to 'Apple Software Update' in Add or Remove Programs icon in your Control Panel. Select Change, then Repair. Then rerun the iTunes installation.
