User account to download Cisco IPS signature

Hi All,
I wanted to enable the Autoupdate in IPS but it asks for Cisco acc with cryptographic privileges to download Cisco IPS signature and signature engine updates from Cisco.com.
is their any default acc for this ?
I have CCO acc whether is this can be used ?
You must have a Cisco.com user account with cryptographic privileges to download Cisco IPS signature and signature engine updates from Cisco.com.

Using your cisco.com account go to this link and see if you can download the IPS-K9-6.1-2-E3.pkg file to your own desktop machine.
http://tools.cisco.com/support/downloads/go/ImageList.x?relVer=6.1%282%29E3&mdfid=280302728&sftType=Intrusion+Prevention+System+%28IPS%29+System+Upgrades&optPlat=&nodecount=2&edesignator=null&modelName=Cisco+IPS+4260+Sensor&treeMdfId=278875311&treeName=Intrusion+Prevention+System+%28IPS%29&modifmdfid=null&imname=&hybrid=Y&imst=N&lr=Y
If you can download this file with your account, then you can use that account and password when configuring the sensor for the cisco.com automatic upgrades.
If you can not download the file with your account, then your account does not have the right settings.
Either your account does not have crypto access or your account is not properly linked to your service contract for your sensors.
There are a handfull of countries not allowed to have crypto access, users from all other countries would just need to get their account modified for crypto access (I am not sure what that procedure is).

  • How to convert Cisco IPS signatures to a MARS events - no keyword search

I am trying to run a scheduled report looking for the new Microsoft exploit under the IPS S411 release, SIGID 19339.0 and I am trying to form the query looking for the event this falls under without using a keyword search on the SIGID. Does anyone know how to correlate an IPS signature to a MARS event?
    Thanks,
    Mike

With the help of On-box local event correlation technology you can correlate. On-box local event correlation technology not only enables detection, but actually blocks multi-event attacks and malware in real time, complementing security incident management software such as the Cisco Security Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting System (Cisco Security MARS) that correlate events across multiple devices.
Integrates with the Cisco Security Manager to correlate security events with the configured firewall rules and intrusion prevention system (IPS) signatures that can affect the security event

  • What is wrong with my user account?? Why do I get kernel panic when restart

Hi there. I got Leopard and was quite unhappy (don't think it was meant for a powerbook). So I started using Tiger again, and I flip flopped once or twice after the update came out for Leopard, thinking/hoping it would fix my problems. It didn't. I have given up on Leopard.
But, now Tiger seems to have a few problems of its own. I get the kernel panic when I restart my computer (telling me to restart), so I have to hold down the power button to turn it off and then turn it back on. Not a big deal, but if it shouldn't be doing that, I don't want it to, ya know? Never did it before Leopard.
My user account seems to be dysfunctional when it comes to downloading plug-ins for safari or firefox. I had to create a new user account and download the plug in from that account and then drag it into the HD to use it on my user account. I repaired disk permissions and booted from Tiger and did the same thing on there. After that, my user account is still not able to download that plug-in without getting errors (256)?
Is there a way to do a reinstall of Tiger from a blank slate, and be sure there won't be any problems?
    Thanks!

Leopard will work with your Powerbook, the question is, is all your software and hardware ready for it?
Is there a way to do a reinstall of Tiger from a blank slate, and be sure there won't be any problems?
You can start from a blank slate, but if you have a hardware problem that started to generate itself, a blank slate won't solve it. It is called an erase and install. The first thing to do is backup your data*:
    http://www.macmaps.com/backup.html
Once that is done at least twice, we can start looking at solutions for kernel panics*:

  • How to increase No. of attempt to Lock user account in DB

    Hi,
How to increase the number of attempt [by giving wrong password] to lock the user account in DB Connection?
We have default feature as No. of attempt is 3 by giving wrong password to lock the user account.
Is it possible to increase the no. of times from 3?
Is it possible to find out who is the resource locked the account by giving wrong password?
Kindly give me input on this more.
    Thanks.
    Orahar.

You can increase the number of failed login attempts: the number of failed login attempts is configured in profile linked to user account http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/network.102/b14266/policies.htm#i1007339. Either you change the current profile or you can create a new one and link it to the user account.
You can retrieve profile linked to user account with:
    SQL> select username, profile from dba_users where username='HR';

  • VPP end user account creation

I am a VPP program manager, i created a facilator account but i can't find out how to create a end user account to download the apps that the facilator purchases.  In the VPP video training they talk about creating both types of accounts but I am not seeing where to do it.

When you create a new user and leave the password fields blank, you should see a warning similar to the following one. Clicking "OK" will continue to create the account, but if you press Return/Enter or click "Cancel" then the account will not be made.

  • IPS Signature Knowledge

    Hi Cisco,
How we can see the detail of the Cisco IPS signature. If i want to see the the prriority(High/Medium/Low) of latest signature.
E.g if i upgrade my IPS sensor with Latest signature and i want to see what are the High or critical signature Cisco updated in
this signature then what is the process to check this or where?
    Kind Regards,

You can check the release notes/read me file on the version that you upgrade it to, and it will advise if there is any changes to the existing signature.

    Mustafa,
    Here are the signature details:
    http://tools.cisco.com/security/center/viewIpsSignature.x?signatureId=5605&signatureSubId=0&softwareVersion=6.0&releaseVersion=S262
This signature detects a Windows SMB user account  that has been locked on the Windows server due to multiple failed logon  attempts, via the "STATUS_ACCOUNT_LOCKED_OUT" message returned to the  client.
This signature severity is set by default to 'informational'
Hence all the signature is doing is leeting you know some users were locked out due to multiple logon attempts.
The event details will also reveal victim ip which might be the machine on which the logon attempts were tried.
Let me know if this addresses your concern.

  • Cisco IPS 4240 stops file downloads at 90%

Hi everybody. I have a Cisco IPS 4240 with version 7.0.4 installed and upgraded to the last signature. But since it was installed i have the issue with some file downloads because the IPS stops the file at 90-99% of download percentage (in some cases, not all), The ips is inline in front of firewall, some partner say me that i have to change the mode to promiscuous for the solution of the issue, but i think that if the IPS was designed for work inline, i dont have to change anything and maybe some expert of the forum have the correct answer.  Or this issue have solution with configuration changes.
Sorry by my write english.... I try to find some signature that causes the issue but if i disabled the sensor, the issue occurs. The firewall is not the problem because if i connect a laptop in front of the firewall and behind of IPS the issue occurs too. Well i have now some months trying of find a solution. In the page of Cisco not find some similar.... [:-(
Pd. An example of files that stop when downloads is Apple Itunes... or Microsoft Patch, or Vmware software by example.
Thanks for your response are greatly appreciated.

Thnaks for your help this is the last packets before freeze the download:
The size of the download with problems is random, sometimes ocurrs with small size downloads sometimes ocurrs with large downloads. The download of the example have 47 MB, I think that the traffic is dropped and the tcp conn timeout. Do you see some anomalies in this traffic portion?.

  • Since years, my wife and I are sharing one Apple computer. On this, we both have an individual user account. Each of us has an own iTunes Account and an own individual media library. Why is this setup now blocked by Apple? Cannot download purchased music.

Since years, my wife and I are sharing one Apple computer. On this, we both have an individual user account. Each of us has an own iTunes Account and an own individual media library. Each of us is using an own individual iPhone, which we frequently update with our iTunes Accounts. We have had this setup for years. It was convenient, reliable and user friendly, since we both could download what we wanted, create playlists, etc. without impact on the other. Exactly this convenience has made me and my wife real Apple fans, so that we also wanted to convince our daughter to move from Android and PC to our easier Apple setup.
Since a few weeks, this setup does not work anymore. From Apple Support (online chat on Apple.at) I was not told that this is not supported any more. Every computer is only allowed to be connected to one iTunes account. From one perspective (sharing music across other users as an act or media piracy, etc.) I can somehow understand this. However, since we are using different user accounts on this computer, I do not have access to other user´s iTunes media and could not play, download or copy it. So what is the point in this?
This now means, that my wife and I are only allowed to download individually purchased music with our personal iTunes accounts only with an interval of 90 days, so every on of us 2 times a year!
Was I incorrectly informed by the Apple support? If so, how can I solve the problem? Or is this really a new policy by Apple? If so, what is the reason? Am I expected to purchase a Mac for my wife, my daughter, myslef and for the three smaller kids to follow soon?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Unfortunately, if Apple simply allowed people to log into different accounts and download content, everyone would be using everyone could share everyone else's content and bypass the need to purchase anything. To protect against this, they limit you to logging into a new account to once every 90 days.
If two or more of you, have different accounts and use only one computer, you should each have your own user account on the computer, to avoid the need to log in and out of iTunes.

  • I deleted two user accounts from my MacBook Pro to create a third user account to consolidate all my duplicate files.  Now my Mac won't download from ITunes, nor re-load music from one of my deleted accounts.

I combined two user accounts on my MacBook Pro into a new, third, user account.  The biggest account in terms of my I Tunes library, past purchases, etc., was preserved.  The smaller deleted acount with about 40 I Tunes purchases needed to be "reloaded" into my "machine".
I went through the procress several times, meaning, "go to purchased", items not on this machine, etc, only to receive the same message of not having permission to download.
As well, I can't download new items form the ITuunes store.
    Solutions anyone?

My computer is the same I've had for a year now.  I didn't have a problem until I closed the two user accounts and consolidated into an admin account.
In my ITunes account it says I have "two computers authorized to play content".  There's a "delete these authorized computers" function.  I'm not hitting that button until I have to.
The help desk says to delete my downloads folder in ITunes and then re-download my previous purchases (I can't find a downloads file to delete) .or reload from Cloud.  I don't have cloud on my Mac.
    ARGH!!!!

  • With Cisco Secure ACS 4.2 User accounts gets locked at first instance of wrong credentials even if configured for 3 attempts

    Hello Everybody,
I am working with Cisco Secure ACS 4.2 and it is integrated with Active Directory at a Windows 2008 R2 functional level, user accounts that are set with lockout parameters (3 incorrect attempts) are locked out prematurely after the user enters the wrong credentials just once, the integration is done via LDAP.
I wonder if anybody has any idea why this is happening, because when I connect to a Cisco device or VPN, and type my password wrongly, on the Active Directory I get extra bad password counts.
    Thanks in advance and regards....

    Hello Scott,
Thanks for your answer. However we checked the ACS logs and it shows that we entered bad credentials just once, but in the Active Directory our account sometimes is blocked because we get at least 2 and sometimes 3 failures. This problem is only presented when we authenticate Cisco devices or through VPN, in normal circumstances, when users enter bad credentials on their computers, it works fine.
    Thanks and regards...

  • E-pub books: when I click on a book to read it, this message appears:  "This item was originally downloaded with a different user account or Adobe ID. To continue, please add that account."

I incorrectly replaced the backup for my iPad2 by accident when I tried to retrieve it to my new iPad Air.  It now no longer exists.
I can still see the icons of the books on Kalahari's reader. (Kalahari is an e-pub bookshop in South Africa.
When I click on a book to read it, this message appears:  "This item was originally downloaded with a different user account or Adobe ID. To continue, please add that account."
I know for certain that the Adobe ID (e-mail address) is still correct. See below.  The password seems to be the problem.  This appears to have been changed a few times over the past two and a half years.  Which one? Was hoping Adobe could help. (case number: 0214089318)
Can anyone please assist me to get back on track, what should I do to open and read my e-pub books again?
    Much appreciated.
