User can not upload pictures to Wiki....
Hello All,
I got a strange problem: One of our users can not upload pictures to our OS X Server (10.8.5) Wiki anymore. If the user edits a page and uploads an image, the picture shows up in the page, but the progress indicatior of the upload runs forever. Saving the page hangs also - the only option is to manually re-load the page, but then the impages are gone, of course.
The strange thing is, on pages the user has uploaded images before (some weeks ago), uploading new images works! I had a look at the wiki log file but did not see anything suspect. The client is Windows with latest Firefox. But we have other users on Windows/Firefox that work perfect.
Does someone has an idea where to look for the problem?

Take a look at the following things to help your diagnosis:
Is it the computer or the user account that's causing the problem ?
Let that user try the same thing using a different browser.
Copy one of the images that does work on another user's computer to the computer that doesn't work and try that one.
Vice versa.

When my recent created users can not download files via the browse within the Internet interface.
When I hit the via browse I face the following:
500 Internal Server Error

These are the ACL's of IFS:
PRIVATE Grants no permissions to any other user. Other users cannot view, modify, or delete a user’s document in any way, unless changed by the owner.
PROTECTED For folders only. Enables other users to see the files in the folder, add documents and folders to the folder, and remove documents and folders they have created from the folder, but are not allowed to delete the folder itself.
PUBLIC Allows full access to the item. All users can make any changes that the owner can make.
PUBLISHED Allows other users to view the contents, but they are not allowed to modify or delete the document.
If you attach the ACL Public it must work!

I am having huge issues uploading pictures with my Mac...I did a speed test its like .1 on upload speed....help!!!! It has always been bad...we even bought a new router, that did nothing....
With respect, you're not clear.
Photoshop isn't a place, so you can't upload from there. Are your photos managed by an app like iPhoto? Or the Finder? How are you uploading? Give us a step-by-step of how you're going about it. -
I have 2 log in/users on my computer. Parents, and kids. When browsing under the parents section/admin,- I can not open picture links. When logged in & browsing under kids log in/user, I can. What have I done wrong?

How can I Upload Pictures, from my Mac Book Pro Retina Display with Mountain Lion OS? Tried but it gets as far as i pictures but does not open?
This is not necessarily 100% correct at the current time.
As Dropbox is encouraging people to set it up for automatic uploading of photos they gradually increment your space as you load more pictures for free at the current time.
You do start with a fixed 2 GB but if you upload photos you will be awarded more free space.
You can also open a free account with Flickr - you may have some upload limits per day but you can upload pictures there. -
Can not add pictures to my website
When I edit my website on (bluedomino.com) I can not add pictures I receive an error message - an error has interrupted communication between your browser and the website server. Bluedomino looked at the problem and could not resolve said it was firefox issue. I switched over to Int.Explore and I have no problem it also seems to run faster. I have no problem viewing my web sites all the pictures display I can't add new ones. I'm able to upload the pictures to bluedomino but can not insert them on the edit page or post them.

This can be worked around by creating a version of the video that is compatible with your iPod.
Select a video and choose File > Create New Version > Create iPad or Apple TV Version.

Since upgrading to Yosemite on my iMac: My Mail app refuses to open, Safari won't load, and I can't upload pictures from my iPad...

I used to upload any picture to Fbook which was in my Iphoto. Now, I can only upload pictures from IPhoto which are a week old. I'm unable to upload any recent pics from Iphoto to FBook - like pics I uploaded to I photo today. They are in IPhoto, but once I'm on FB, and want to upload, they aren't available to choose. Help? the booting and walking away and then attempting to browse and clean method is what i've been trying to do. it won't let me drag and drop and just freezes up and goes to sleep after 2 minutes. it's a never ending battle with very few results. which is why i questioned the method of just restoring the hd from a time machine backup.
do you think restoring the hd from time machine will resolve the issue with all pics on the desktop? and everything will be as it was from the date i restore it from? sorry, as you can tell, i'm not overly computer savvy.
i have a really old desktop mac...i can try connecting the two...how does one boot a mac in 'target mode'?
as for the iphoto cleaning and organizing issue...that is what i was trying to accomplish with importing them to a folder. was going to browse and clean from there...but somehow imported to desktop which is what's complicating everything. once i get them off the desktop i can work on the iphoto issue...which as i mentioned...i didn't take 45,000 pics...i've just taken about 4,500 over the last few years, and they are being duplicated in iphoto. this was my attempt to clean it out entirely and start over. it will basically be a lot of deleting.
one problem, seems to lead me to more...which is just my luck. :-)

Safari doesn't support the attaching/uploading of files. If you want to send documents or photos that you have stored on the iPad then you can use the Mail app - if you've set up your email account on it, then you should be able to start in the app that contains the document, and then use that app's functionality to select the document and attach it to an email e.g. in the Photos app you can use the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it to select and email a picture

It is peculiar, that Chrome, Safari, and Skype can access FB, but not the iPhoto uploader.
Do you see any error messages/ diagnostics in the Console Window, when you try to connect to Facebook?
Launch a Console window from Applications > Utilities and clear the Console Window. Then try to upload. Are there any new messages?
And also launch a Terminal and have a look, if "facebook.com" is properly resolved:

Cant not upload pictures from my SD card into FCE through canon xha1s firewire. Is there another way? The strange part is when I originally hooked my canon up to the Imac iphoto saw the camcorder as a device and I do not what has happen since then. I just bought the camcorder and would like to take advantage of the photo capabilities as well as the video. All help would be greatly appreciated.
The card video stuff will most likely load into iPhoto when you tranfer the stills. USB connection only.
The video on the card will be a highly compressed, small dimensioned format and won't work directly with FCE and not over firewire in any shape or form.
However, you could take the clips from iPhoto and convert them to an FCE freindly format such as the DV codec. Streamclip is a free application that can do the job.

I'm trying to set up an NTFS partition to use as a common data partition between Arch and Windows. I have it added to fstab so that any user in the ntfsuser group can have access to it, but if it gets unmounted accidentally from the "eject" symbol in the nautilus gui, you have to sudo to mount it back up. Is there a way for it to be remounted automatically when you click on the partition again in Nautilus? I've searched all through the forums and looked through several articles on the wiki but haven't been able to come up with anything. The error I get says
mount: only root can mount /dev/sda4 on /home/adam/UserData
I've tried adding the users option to fstab, but that only manages to change the error to

I've tried the suggestions at the link in the error, as well as tried the solutions given in [solved] Gnome : mounting NTFS partition as user and a few other posts, but still nothing. If possible, I'd prefer to stay away from the users option in fstab, since it adds a redundant link to the sidebar in nautilus with a different name.@Mr.Elendig: It is mounted through fstab normally, but in nautilus there's an eject icon on the sidebar next to the name of the drive which I've accidentally clicked on a couple times if I'm just trying to open the drive real quick. Once its been unmounted like that it won't let me remount unless I use sudo. I'm just looking for something to make it a little more convenient than having to pop open a cli and type in a password.
I'll try the suid root when I get home tonight, otherwise I'll look into autofs. -

I own an iphone and a new ipad and i ve encountered a problem. I can t upload pictures on my site over 3g. It works just fine over wifi, but not over 3g. Anyone has solved something like this?
Thanks a lot! ;)I understand, but the pictures i m talking avut are jpegs max size 100kb, edited in Photoshop touch and then resised with Simple resize. I upload them onto my site in an oscommerce interface. I ll talk to the carrier, even thow i used first a Vodafone Sim and now i m using my iPhone as a hotspot- the iPhone carrier is Cosmote.
It should be some logic solution and i can t wait to find it.
