User can't open a PDF created with Illustrator CS4

I'm creating a PDF in Illustrator CS4, and I save it on a server where the user can get it. User is not able to open the file, it says acces denied. When I email that same file to several users, they can open it without a problem. I have checked that there's no restrictions on accessibility on the folder or the file. I wonder if it has to do with windows user permissions...
Our IT guy couldn't find any problem ....
Any clue?

Prolems started after uploading the Lion in March. Now at least Windows 7 users can´t open any pdfs or jpegs that I have included into sent e-mails. They can see that they are included but can´t open them. What can I do?

It's a bug in Outlook. Each version of Outlook has its own unique bug that prevents it form displaying email that didn't come from another Outlook user. Apple has attempted to dumb-down Mail and make it more complex in order to work around these issues, but Microsoft keeps changing the bugs in each version of Outlook instead of making an Internet Email standard compliant email client.
Are they able to right-click on the image and save it from the contextual menu?
Otherwise, make sure Send windows friendly, attachments at end of message are checked and send plain text.
Or, zip the attachments and send that way.
There is also a program called Attachment Tamer that many people have found useful.

I can't open a PDF file with password with my iphone app, the app send me an error, but the password is correct. This only happend in the new version of iphone. In the latest version I didn't have this problems.

Can you open any file, i.e. jpeg, etc.? Have you installed the Apple legacy Java: Java for OS X 2014-001? I'm guessing you have because you wouldn't be able to open PS at all without it. But have to ask.

I can't open my pdf file and when i select default program nothing happens, I try repair adobe reader, I try reinstall it, I installed older version, i try fix default programs but when I select my adobe reader nothing happens, there is still only windows media player (he is set as default). If Reader ISN'T in the list of prpgrams to open with, click "Browse"
In the "Browse window" go to C/Program files [or Program Files (x86)]/Adobe/Reader 11/Reader
Select "AcroRd32.exe" and click "Open"
Make sure "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" is checked and click "OK".

Can't open DNG files created with Mac CS5 downloader in Mac CS4 Photoshop

I recently installed CS5 on my mac but I kept CS4 installed as well. I notice that I cannot open DNG files created with CS5 in Photoshop CS4. Bridge CS4 shows the files only as icons - no image thumbnails. I am able to open these same files on a Windows version of CS4. Is there some plugin for my mac CS4 that will enable me to access the DNG files created with CS5? Is there a way to use my CS5 downloader when converting my raw files from my camera to DNG files that will make them compatiple with PS and Bridge CS4?

Well, yes...but you'll need to modify your DNG Converter prefs to allow for that. You''ll need a recent (ideally current DNG Converter 6.4.1 or above) and click on the DNG Converter preferences and select the correct DNG Converter options. Check DNG Converter 6.4.1 (the current version) and click on "Change Preferences" to be sure select Camera Raw 5.4 and later then make sure CS4 is updated to ACR 5.7 (which is the last version of ACR for CS4) However, the changes made to ACR 6.x really should be adopted since IQ for ACR 6.4.x is a lot better...

I have tried to open multiple Acrobat files but none will open. I get a FATAL ERROR message saying: "Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE server." No I am thinking that the problem is with Acrobat XI Pro. Because as previously noted I can create a Word document and save as a PDF, the PDF document will be created by Acrobat XI Pro but will not open with Acrobat XI Pro, which normally happens automatically upon creating the PDF file from say Word, Exel, Publisher, etc. When I try to open with Acrobat XI Pro it give me the FATAL ERROR message saying: "Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE server". Since I could not open any of my PDF documents with Acrobta XI Pro, because I had Acrobat XI Pro as my default PDF creater and reader, I installed Adobe Reader, hoping that it would allow me to view the PDF documents that I had just created with Acrobat XI Pro and it did. The problem is that I cannot open Acrobat XI Pro to creat or edit or add PDF restrictions on a PDF document straight from Acrobat XI Pro, but I can create a, say Word document, and save as a PDF file. Before installing Adobe Reader I could not open, see or edit the just created PDF file created through Word it is just now after installing Acrobat Reader.
Also worth noting.
I have been told that this same problem happened sometime ago with Adobe Acrobat X Pro (Vesion 10) and that the problem was fixed by editing something within the registry. Does anyone know anything about that? Thanks!

Error Opening Adobe PDF created with Xcelsius 2008

I am using an SAP Product - Xcelsius 2008 to create a dashboard that I exported to PDF. The document essentially contains a Flash SWF file embedded in the PDF. I can open it up fine with my Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. Some of my colleagues can open it up using Adobe Reader. Many recipients who have a older version of Adobe Acrobat get an error stating: "This file appears to use a new format that this version of Acrobat does not support. It may not open or display correctly. Adobe recommends that you upgrade to the latest version o four Acrobat products. Please visit our product site at http://www.adobe.com/acrobat." My question is, is there a way to resave the PDF file as an older, more compatible version for people who have Acrobat 8 or earlier versions?

Version 8 should work, but not earlier, since they did not have an internal flash player.

How can i open a PDF link with safari?C

safari keeps saying that "there was an error opening this document. this file cannot be found" when I tried to open a PDF file link. and I have no problem opening those links with I.E or Firefox.
i've tried to reinstall safari and adobe, but neither of those methods worked.

Links to PDFs Created with Illustrator Won't Work

I am using CS3. I create a document in Illustrator, save it as a PDF, and create a link to the PDF either through our website developer or through a newsletter program I am using. If I create the PDF using other programs (such as MSWord or Excel), the link works fine. If the original document is created using Illustrator and then saved as a PDF, the file will open directly as a PDF no problems. However, when I link to the PDF, the PDF downloads about 95% to 99% and then just stops on a blank page. Sometimes I get the message that the download is done; sometimes it just sits there at 95% downloaded and never progresses. Anyone else experience this?

That's weird. Did you try and run the "Optimize" stuff in Acrobat? Perhaps it still has some references and fancies turned on that are unsuitable. Also there may be something up with your Internet Zoen surveillance and Illu simply not be an trusted app, so your PDFs are flagged as risky by the system...

I do not know why you want to open a local file in IE, and not directly in Adobe Reader.
Does it work if you rename the file extension to .pdf?
If yes, then maybe it will work if you create a file association for .efb as AcroExch.Document to open with AcroRd32.exe
