User cannot access shared folder on a single PC.

This one has got me thoroughly confused.
Over the weekend I'm moved a shared folder from an old file server to a new one. Move went well. Added share and security permissions. Changed user scripts. Check ever users system to insure they had the new share drive and wouldn't notice a thing. All worked well.
Except one user.
She cannot access the share at all. She can access other shares on the new file server. She can access the needed share on other systems. Other users who have access can access the share on her system.
Does anyone have anything I can do beside wiping her profile/system?

    BTW, Outlook anywhere is disabled in EX2007 and as per this article Q/A , it is no more needed

    I ran into the same situation recently, and found out that you need to make sure InternalClientsRequireSSL is set to false.
    To verify: Run Get-OutlookAnywhere | fl Identity, *ssl
    If it is true, try setting it to false.

    I am in the final stages of a cross-forest migration.  Users have Windows 7 workstations with redirected folders on a Windows Server 2012 box running in the old forest.  User accounts were not migrated.  The accounts in use have always
    been in the "new" forest.  One of our challenges was the large volume of data in redirected folders.  I made sure users in the target forest had continued to have access to their redirected folders in the old forest and robocopied
    the entire users share, copying the permissions with the files.  By doing incremental robocopies, we can get a final copy done now in about six hours.  The plan was simple: copy the files, do an incremental copy every night, on the night of the cutover
    change the folder redirection policy Documents path from
    \\oldserver\users\%USERNAME% to
    \\newserver\users\%USERNAME%. The policy is configured to NOT copy user files from the existing folder to the new redirected folder.  Everything was going well until I tested the policy change.  After the folder redirection policy is updated
    and applied, the user cannot access the private Documents folder.  For example, user Chester Tester logs on as ctester.  I open Windows Explorer and click the Documents shortcut.  I see one subfolder, which is subfolder of Public Documents. 
    So I can look at Public Documents but when I click on the Documents folder (Under the Documents library link) I get an access denied error.  Now for the kicker, if I open another Windows Explorer window and edit the address bar to
    \\newserver\users\ctester, I can navigate the Documents folder tree and see my thousands of documents. What the ....?
    I'm hoping this is something really simple to fix!

    Thank you for your reply.  Yes, the path in Group Policy Folder Redirection Root Path was updated to
    \\NEWSERVER\users.  I had planned to point this to the distributed file system, so the first used was actually
    \\domain\dfs\users.  To simplify things I have backed off to copying to just a normal share
    \\newserver\users. 
    We are using BASIC folder redirection and we create a folder for each user under the root path. 
    We did not want the policy to move content, as we were seeing users requiring 15-20 minute logon times  (or higher) after the policy is changed.
    Grant the User exclusive right to Documents - Disabled
    Move the contents of Documents to the new location - Disabled
    Related folder settings
    Video - Follow Documents
    Music - Follow Documents
    Pictures - Follow Documents
    Now when I change the folder redirection from old server to new server I now have TWO My Documents folders in the user's redirection folder on the server.  The redirected Documents points to an empty folder set.  The copied folders with all user
    data are there, but folder redirection refuses to recognize the original folder.
    I am looking at the full view of the folder, nothing hidden, so I'm wondering how a folder can have two subfolders with the exact same name.  For now, I just want the redirection to move from the old server to the new server properly.  I deleted
    the new My Documents folder, rebooted the user's workstation and tried again.  The behavior repeats itself, i.e., a new My Documents folder is always created when the redirection policy is changed from the old server to the new server.  The environment
    has about 1500 users with approximately 1.3TB of data in the redirected Documents folders.  OUCH!

  • PIX Users Cannot Access Other Websites & Email Servers on Same-Shared T1 Co

    We are sharing a T1 connection with another business in our building. They have their own separate network environment from mine. I have a Windows 2003 Small Business Server behind a PIX-501 and the users in my network connect to the Internet via Windows Server?s DHCP and Internet sharing (NAT) services.
    All Internet and email traffic is accessible except for those hosted by the other company who we're sharing a connection with. My users cannot access that company?s web server or send email to their email server (we all get 4.4.7 SMTP errors? days later after sending the message).
    They have no firewall on their end; which is why I think there may be something wrong with my PIX configuration (see attached config file). I'm sort of a newbie with the PIX CLI, so any help I can get could be great. Thanks in advanced!

    The problem is not with PIX. This is a common problem when sharing a T1 link as it creates a routing problem since routing cannot be done based on shared T1 channels. Your PIX config is fine and has nothing to do with this issue.

  • SRS Browser Role Cannot Access Shared Data Sources

    I've created some reports using VS and shared data sources and deployed. I can run reports (I'm a domain admin), but users I've given system administrator roles within SRS cannot access shared data sources. However, if I embed the data source, everything
    is fine. I'm pulling data from three different servers, so the shared data sources are somewhat important.  I'm using SQL Native userid/passwords not windows authentication.  Anybody got any ideas?  I'm new to SRS.  Thanks.

    I’m confused about the meaning of “cannot access shared data sources”. Are you saying the user cannot see the Shared Data Sources in Report Server, but he can render the report well? Or the user cannot render the report well because he have no permission
    to access shared data sources?
    If in this first scenario, means that the role of the user have no permission to View data sources. To fix this issue, we can add View data sources task to the current role in SQL Server Management Studio.
    If in the second scenario, it is so strange. In my test, I add Browser role of the report to one user which has no permission to access the shared data sources, but he can render the report which retrieve data from the shared data sources very well.
    To troubleshooting this issue more efficiently, could you tell us the scenario you occurred and the error message you received? So that we can make further analysis and help you out.

  • Access shared folder on Mac

    Hi,
    I have two Queries
    I want to access shared folder on my mac which is being originated from a Windows Xp desktop (through Wifi). I can  see the folder name under shared files but cannot access it (It says "Connection failed")
    Can I use Printer through that shared folder (Windows Xp Desktop)

    I've since discovered another error in Finder when trying to connect to the shared drive on my MacBook. If I use the 'Go', 'Connect to Server' option and type the address afp://192.168.0.2 of my MacBook on the EMac the following error is displayed: 'The text entered does not appear to be a recognized URL format'. I know that it is as this format works when i connect from the MacBook to the EMac (apart from the changing the IP address).
    i've ran the disk utility to repair the disk permissions but this has not helped. it would appear Finder is a bit mixed up. Is there a repair or reinstall option for Finder?

    This is not the correct category. This message should be opened under security item. However, you can find the whole required authorization objects list, by using ST01 trace.

  • Non-admin user cannot access Essbase server level variables

    Version 11.1.1.3
    Essbase Substitution variables are created at server level. Users are getting error in FR report that uses the Subsitution Variable -- Essbase Error(1051085): You do not have sufficient access to get this substitution variable. Also, users cannot access Substitution variable in SmartView. However, users can access variables created at database level. Users are provisioned as "Server Access" to Essbase and filter access to ASO application "MGTRPTG", where MGTRPTG is an ASO essbase application for reporting. We tried the same provisioning in two other environments and it seems to be working fine.
    User is type "Essbase and Planning" provisioned with essbase "server access", application mgtrptg "filter", Reporting and Analysis "analyst", "dynamic viewer" and "Explorer". In addition, it is given a filter "REP_DME_GALB" which restricts 2 dimensions (Division and Geography).
    Steps taken to resolve:
    1. Existing users were deprovisioned and reprovisioned with no effect.
    2. Created brand new identically provisioned users in Prod and QA. QA user can access the server level var and Prod user cannot
    3. Created a brand new server level variable in Prod and this cannot be accessed.
    4. All services have already been restarted several times.
    5. SR has been opened.
    Temporary workaround:
    By creating a duplicate of the same set of variables at the database level, the reports work. This can only be a temporary workaround as the client cannot be expected to maintain two sets of substitution variables since there are 3 applications using these server level variables.

    You have stumbled on a defect which is resolved in the Hyperion Planning 9.3.1 patch 6 and above. If you have your planning preferences set to indent members it will cause forms which have page selections to show as invalid in SmartView.
    You can either patch Planning or turn off the preference. The patches are available from http://metalink3.oracle.com and require account which has been associated with your client ID.
    P.S. Usually it's not a good practice to use the admin id.

  • Cannot access shared folders anymore....

    Hi,
    We have a naughty problem at the office for accessing shared folders .
    We use G5 Xserve + Xraid serving home access to 12 macs.
    Our problem started when we updated all machines to 10.5.2 (nor did we have a problem with 10.5.1 or with 10.5.0).
    All machines login correctly, fetch their folders with their home accesses located in the Xserve, as allways did, BUT :
    ·Almost all the machines running Leopard (except two) CANNOT access shared items. They get Error -5002
    ·The old machines running Tiger (G3 Imac's) acess shared items without problem.
    So after many weeks doing multiple tests, we got the following conclusions:
    ·Problem is not server related.
    ·Problem si related to Leopard clients , although not in all
    ·Problem is not related to the machine, but with the account (accounts that can access shared items do it on any machine, and accounts that can't, don't do it on any machine)
    ·It seems that the trouble is related somewhat with Kerberos authentication, but it's not related to tickets (renewing them is no use)
    ·If we create new account with new name, it can access shared items
    ·If we create new account with same name that of the faulty one (renaming the later), it CANNOT access shared items.
    We have got a problem in the office, and no clue of solving it.... Have read all over apple discussions over the internet, and although some people have similar issues, they are not as close as ours....
    And none of the solutions proposed have solved the problem.
    Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, cause we are starting to get desperate

    we are able to connect to remote shared folders with a different remote server (dual G4) from every machine
    machines who can connect to local server are INTELs, the one who can't are PPCs
    makes any sense to anyone?¿

    The structure of the users is as follow:
    Management (at the top)
    - Accounting
    - Marketing
    - Sales, etc
    Users can then access one of the above, only one.
    Universe restrictions has been applied to allow users to see information related to their department only.
    We do not use any Windows AD authentication, it is just Business Objects.

  • Computer clock that user cannot access

    I have made a game that i published on Kongregate using C# language with Unity.
    I have a serious issue though. If the player stays offline, he gets some bonus in game when he returns. The more he is offline the bigger bonus. The issue is that if someone while he is offline changes the clock of his computer to 1 day or 10 years in the
    future he gets so much bonus that he ruins the game.
    Is there any way to avoid that without having a server to get time?
    In the webplayer i cannot use NTP due to security limitations, so i am trying to find a clock that the user cannot access.

    The software house where I'm working as a phone app which uses a timestamp on data it sends to a server.
    There are frequent issues with users messing with the time on their devices for games like candy crush.
    This causes no end of problems since you get data which is sent as if it happened like yesterday or some such and bad stuff happens.
    You definitely don't want to rely on the time on the users computer.
    Get the time when you start up or support bonus for save to server only and apply it retrospectively.
    Use a timer to see how long they play between saves if necessary.
    Or change the game and ditch the bonus mechanism.

  • OS 10.4 clients cannot access Shared Mac folder on W2k Server - URGENT

    We have a network of about 25 computers, 10 or so of them are Mac OS 10.4, the rest are Win XP Pro PCs. We have a server dedicated to file sharing. We basically have one main shared folder called "FILES". This is shared for PCs and Macs. Recently after a restart of the server (for regular maintenance), the Macs could not see the shared Mac volume (FILES), PCs could access the share without a problem. After a few minutes (15 or so) the Macs could all of a sudden see the share and
    everything was fine.
    However, we just restarted the server again and we're having the same issue again. The difference is, this time, after waiting for a few hours, the Macs still cannot see the Mac Share. The macs connect to the server via TCP/IP, the users use their usernames and passwords and can connect to the server, however, the only volume they see is the Micrsoft UAM volume.
    When we created a different folder and shared it (through MMC), the Macs could see and access that one.
    We get an Event ID 12061 in the System Event Log as the user tries to connect to the share. I found a Microsoft KB article, but no solution to the problem was given. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q136300/
    Here are some things I have tried to remedy the issue, please keep in mind we cannot change the name of the share (FILES) becuase of the thousands of file mappings in quark, etc.:
    Again Restarted Server
    Stopped Sharing the folder, then reshared it
    Stopped sharing the folder
    Uninstalled / Reinstalled Appletalk Protocol from network adapter
    Uninstalled / Reinstalled File Services for Macintosh [Restarted]
    Uninstalled / Reinstalled Appletalk Protocol from network adapter again [Restarted]
    Reshared the folder
    Created a new mac share called TEST (Macs could see and access)
    Moved data from Files to TEST, now Macs could not see TEST
    Moved data back to FILES
    Created a folder called FILES2, moved data from FILES to FILES2
    Stopped sharing FILES (PC and Mac), renamed FILES to FILES1
    Renamed FILES2 to FILES (Macs could not see volume)
    It seems as though the problem is with an individual file or two, which sort of corresponds the what Microsoft has written regarding the error.
    Has anyone had any experience with this issue? Any insight or solution to this issue is greatly appreciated.

    It's very important to be as specific as possible when discussion network service access. In your question, it sounds like you want the macs to attach to FILES using SMB/CIFS, but you also call it a Mac share, so it's not obvious if you mean an AFP share or just a share for Macs to use.
    You should know that the Macs can connect to either AFP or SMB volumes, and they can browse for SMB over TCP/IP and AFP over both TCP/IP and Appletalk (Appletalk must be turned on and browsing active in Directory Access).
    Connecting via SMB to a volume hosted on Windows2K or higher server will fail with the default settings, which require secure connections not supported by Mac OS X (because Samba doesn't support it). To overcome that problem, see this article:

    You might also be able to improve reliability by editing the SMB settings in Directory Access and setting a WINS server, but it depends on your network.

  • Windows users can't access shared folder - only see Library folder.

    I created users folders with the same name as the user's login name. (Note: this is NOT a home folder. I have Home Folders shut off). When the Windows user logs in to access their folder, they don't see their files but instead a folder that says "Library".
    When I log in with that user's account on my Mac, I can see the correct contents of their folder, but there is also a folder named "99". I found this "99" folder at the root of the server hard drive but every time I delete it, OS X recreates it again.
    I don't understand what's going on.

    Whether you can able to ping the server when the server share is unresponsive? 
    Check for the events on the server for a clue. Try disabling the AV program for some time and check whether the problem is repeating.
