User cannot see the roles in the portal

Hi,
We have a users who uses portal for his reports. Today he executed a report which took more time. since then onwards when ever user logon to the portal he doesnt get any thing loaded on the page in his system but when the user logon on the other system he get all the roles assigned to him. so i guess there might have been some problem on his pc when he executed report with lots of selections.
Did anyone had this issue earlier? How can we fix that issue on his PC?

We have restarted the PC twice, but still the problem exists.
I have deleted the cookies and tried and it worked.

    Running ichat server, just a handful of OD users. OD is on the same machine as Ichat server. Nothing is limiting the use of Ichat by any of the OD users. Server G5 10.4.9, Clients managed Intel Imacs 10.4.9

    New user can add buddies in the Jabber List.
    New user can see all but 1 of them in the List.
    One of the buddies, lets say UserX, can see the new user in her Jabber List.
    No matter what we have tried from within Ichat the new user cannot see UserX.
    Both users are members of the same groups and have matching access abilities.

    If I understand it this correctly, 'new user' can see all other buddies except one. And all the other users can see this buddy.
    Lets call the new user "userX" and the one they cannot see "userY" and lets call your ichat server "jabber.myserver.com"
    The configuration files for users buddylist is stored in the spool di rectorywhich you can find at /var/jabber/spool/. In there you will find a directory the matches the name of your ichat server. For me that is jabber.clayford.com. In this directory you will find one xml file for eash user of ichat server. Their file name is the OD logon name for the server.
    Stop the ichat server service and make back up of any files you edit before you start.
    Open the file for "userX.xml" In this file you will see some xml code that starts <item jid='[email protected]' subscription='xxxxxx'>. there will be a number of them, one for each buddy.
    Mke sure the xxxxxx is the word 'both' [with the quotes] and if the text ask='subscribe' exists in that line before the >,remove it. So that definition should now be: <item jid='[email protected]' subscription='both'>.
    Save the file and now open the file userY.xml and check that the item <item jid='[email protected]' subscription='both'> exists.
    Restart the ichat server and the problem should be fixed...

    I created also a User that have rights:
    Groups:
    Everyone
    Authenticated Users
    Roles:
    Testrole  (That one i created for the Website)
    But my user cannot see the Website after Logging in.. In the Menu there is a Menuentry called: Website
    Thats correct. But the Site do not load.
    After i put the User in: Group - Administrators i can see the Website... whats wrong here?

    OK i am a step forward.
    i checked help.sap.com and find a hint to the Security Zones.
    Defining Permissions for Security Zones
           1.      Navigate to Security Zones ® com.sap.nw.wpc ® wpc.
           2.      In the context menu of the following folders, choose Open Permissions and define the permissions specified.
    Permissions for Security Zones
    Folders
    Roles/Groups
    Permissions
    medium_safety
    Site owners, editors, and authors (for example, the wpc_editor_role role)
    Select the End User checkbox.
    You can leave the default entry for the Administrator column as None.
    no_safety
    Visitors (for example, the everyone group)
    Select the End User checkbox.
    You can leave the default entry for the Administrator column as None.
    I changed the no_safety (i added Group - Everyone)
    Now i can see the Page.. but i also see at the top right of the page: EDIT PAGE
    And a Standart EndUser should not see: Edit Page
    What can i do here?

    Can you display or hide items dependant on the roles of the logged in user is assigned too.
    I know you can do this for the menu using menu.json

    But what about for other elements inside the app. Is there a way to get the roles of the user logged in.
    Is this missing as a feature or am I missing some pieces.

    I just want to hide or remove a page element ie if(adminUserRole != 'Admin') {$('#element').remove}. Just some way to see the roles of the admin user that is logged. But yes early days.
    On a side note BC are looking to launch the project and advertise the store on the 17th is this not a bit ahead of themselves if there is a potential that apps functionality may be reduced because of new policies, restrictions etc even if only temporarily. Once apps hit the masses this may cause some tension when people loose functions they once had.
    Edit :Ok BC have already changed the date of the launch. I jumped the gun in saying this as they have it all under control.

  • User cannot see workbook assigned to his Role

    Hi,
    One of my users have a role (Z_T1_USER - T1 User) assinged to them in the backend. I have created a workbook and saved it under this role under Roles Menu in RSECADMIN - Role Maintenance and there is a green light for Menu. The workbook executes when I execute it from here. This shows that there is no problem so far.
    But when the user logs in to BEx Analyzer, he is not able to see this role (T1 User) and hence is unable to run the workbook. What is causing this?

    Its an authorization problem.
    Pls check the RSSM T code. There enter the cube on which query was built and search for authorization object.
    In the authorization object, there must be atleast one authorization object maintained for the info cube.
    Suppose if you find a company code pertinent authorization object, you need to maintain the same in the role that you have assigned to the user.
    In the authorization tab of the role maintain the authorization object and you are done with it

    You can use any of the below Session Variables, click the Fx and enter the below
    VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.displayname) - Displays the Full Name of the User that is logged in and running the report for that session
    VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.user_alias) - Display's Alias Name of the User that is logged in and running the report for that session
    For the role, I don't think there is a Session Variable.

    At a guess you have simply chosen a blank Layout mode template.
    Blank Layout templates have absolutely nothing on them, you have to add your own textboxes.
    Choose a Word Processing template, they are listed in the Template Chooser sidebar.

    One user cannot see Inactive Addresses in Account Overview in the CRM 7.0 IC.
    This user has the same roles and authorizations as all the other users.
    We have also performed a user comparison in CRM and ERP and have also reset the user buffers in both systems.
    If I copy the user to another user in CRM and ERP the copied user can see the Inactive addresses. A user comparison shows that the user and copied user are identical.
    Any ideas?

    We are using Essbase 11.1.1.3 and Hyperion Financial Reports 11.1.13.
    I have created a role called "Standard_user_HFR" in shared Services and assgined Explorer and viewer to the role and i need to assign the role to the groups and i have around 1600 groups to which i have assign the role. Is there any Maxl Script to assign the role to the groups. As of now i am manually adding the role to the group.

    Also look into Aggregated Roles to possibly reduce the number of Groups.
    Oracle states:
    Aggregated roles, also known as custom roles, aggregate multiple predefined application roles. An aggregated role can contain other aggregated roles. For example, a Shared Services Administrator or Provisioning Manager can create an aggregated role that combines the Planner and View User roles of a Oracle Hyperion Planning, Fusion Edition, application. Aggregating roles can simplify the administration of applications that have several granular roles. Global Shared Services roles can be included in aggregated roles. You cannot create an aggregated role that spans applications or products.
