The management is quite easy. You can move your Documents, Movies, Music, and Pictures folders to another drive and then replace them in the original location with aliases.
Select Mac Help from the Finder's Help menu and search for "alias." This will provide a help file on creating and using aliases.

    Ask yourself a question.
How fast is your internet connection?
If it is is 1-2-8 mb speed then you dont need 'n'.
If you transfer personal info between computers fast speeds allowed up to 54 will save you time.
'n' is to provide greater range like Mimo and increased transfer speeds.
But do you really need it?
No,if you dont transfer huge data,
Yes, if you want to transfer (stream video from your iTV from Mac if you spend most of your day in front of TV.
There is no substitute for a good reliable connection.
In my real world experience because I only have a 8mb ADSL connection 'g' is not the strongest and most reliable scenario to use. During the last airport update my last 3 years of uninterrupted airport connections mixed PC and Macs on WDS set up went belly up and I had posted my thoughts as well with the relevant results and now set up is fine. But at a price.
Downgraded to all on 'b' and now use my Draytek Vigor 2800VG and have AEBS put away in storage.
My signal and range is out of this world. When I decide that I have enough free time to sit in front of a TV and download movies and watch them when I have nothing better to do such as travel the world etc. etc., that is the time I will go for speed...or will I.
Dont get bamboozled by the hype. If you really want one wait for a year then decide. Let others solve the teething problems as is there want.

I'm relatively new to FCE myself, so I'll answer with what I know. I'm sure the more experienced folks will either add to or correct what I say.
    1) For the Inconvenient Truth thing, I believe this would best be done in LiveType, which does allow you to do animations, and to work on individual letters and characters. Whether or not it could exactly reproduce the effects in the clip, I'm not certain, but I'm sure it could come very close.
    2) For the Crowd or the Cross effects, there are two things going on at once: effects on the text, and effects on the video. My gut feeling is that both FCE and LiveType can do these, with lots of work and patience, but I'll defer to other people to answer.
    3) The page peel is a transition built into FCE.

Hi Martin, thanks for your response, I'll have a good read through that article. Just to fire some more facts at you:
My superdrive has been playing up intermittently for a while. Sometime it wont read the content on CDs / DVDs - usually copied / PC & Mac written discs, not commercial ones. However I haven't been trying to read and discs when the problems have happened.
I upgraded my hard drive from a 320Gb to a 500Gb disc about 6 months ago and the switch was done by a competent Apple Authorized Service Provider. For a few weeks after the new drive had been installed there were a few occasions where the disc was making some noise, like a clicking noise. This would start and go on for a minute or so then seem to dye down and stop. It happened a total of about 10-15 times but when I reported this to the person that fitted my new hard drive he assured me he felt it was unlikely to cause a problem. he did say that if it went on to be an issue they would replace the drive of course. Like I said this was all done about 6 months ago and the clicking noises only happened a handful of times in the first month or so after the install and it did have one bad crash in this time but since then it has been fine.
I just wondered if you thought either of the above might be a cause of the issue?
    Thanks
    Frani,
I think the optical drive is not your problem, but it sounds like it needs replacement. There's a 75% chance it's your hard drive. Read the article on kernel panics. It takes time to diagnose the issue, but if you get TechTools and run a full diagnostic, you might find out if it's a hardware issue. But fix permissions and clean out your cache first, just in case it's a simple fix.

For anyone experiencing the same issues, I wanted to post a supplementary and final post on this issue.
Several days in with the 253 cycle battery, I noted the following:
    1) The iBook breezed along with the power connected. Essentially it was back to its old self.
    2) Unplugged, it developed occasional freeze tendencies when the power dipped below 40-50%.
    3) The iBook passed every test I threw at it. I could find nothing obvious in any of the logs to suggest a hardware problem (other than a kaput battery).
Almost certainly its probably a power issue although I suspect the HD may not have years of useful life. I swithered about replacing the battery with a new Apple battery, a NewerTech battery or another 3rd party replacement battery. After some thought, we bit the bullet and retired the iBook and we now have a white unibody MacBook. Depending on its saleability, the iBook may well be destined to live on as an entertainment device/traveling Mac as it is still a solid performer for lighter tasks.
Upshot: when your iBook starts behaving weirdly, take a look at the battery health.
    Thanks
    Gareth

Keep the temperature down, usually by boosting the lowest default fan speed to help.
Also FBDIMMs on Amazon I have run at 59*C versus the 72*C+ of prior modules so adding less heat into the system.
There are kits you can modify the card's fan and add copper heat sink pipes. You may be fine and not have to buy a new card and continue with the 8800GT.
The X1900 was a huge problem with dust and therefore with heat and making the fans work harder - but never able to cool the interior, so the card had to be removed and dust inside the card's chamber 3-4X per year.
My Mac Pro 1,1 even without the X1900 would warm up the area during winter after 3-4 hours of use - the exhaust on these is very hot. So monitor the temps and fans and I would  install SmcFanControl - I have always had it since 2007 to keep the fans default at 800-900 rpm along with Hardware Monitor (or use another) to monitor all the system sensors.
