User controls in FLASH CS5

Hi
I need to add some user controls to a FLASH project im working on and dont know where to start ?? Im designing a visual map, so it needs a play/stop, forward and back controls, is this possible ??
Thanks

Unfortunately you didn't explain what you want and haven't explain your design at all.  Google is usually your best bet for finding anything you want to do with Flash.  Just use terms that are directly related to what you want to find, such as "AS3 play controls tutorial"... though that's likely not going to gain you much, but try starting there and change the terms to see what gets closer to your goal.

  • User control over Flash content?

    Speaking strictly as a user, I want better control over Flash content.  I am tired of Flash-based movies automatically playing just because I visit a web site - especially with audio enabled.  I want to be able to configure my browser so that Flash content cannot automatically start.  I don't want to disable Flash entirely, I just want to be in control (regardless of the web site developer's intentions).   Is this possible?   If I desire to view the animation, I will intiate playback myself.

    There are a few widget libraries out there. Google for Synclast or J2ME Polish.

  • Android API level control from Flash CS5.5????

    Hello, newbie here.
    First of all, I am no programmer! I have no problem admitting that Im in uncharted territories here.
    I am trying to create an android app with cs5.5. It works fantastic on all phones when it is distributed from my website. However, when distributed from the android market, only certain phones can find it in a search. I think that it is because of the API filtering that the market automatically does. Right now it is showing that my apk file supports levels 8-14. I think Im going to need it to allow 7-14 or even lower. How can I set up Flash to produce that kind of file? Again, I am no programmer, so if anyone can help me in laymens terms..........................Ill send you a fantastic Christmas Card this year.
    Im on Windows 7
    HTC EVO 4G
    The app is called "Dukes Alehouse Beer Menu" if it helps.
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    OK I figured it out, or rather found someone else who had.  Thanks to Nick Collins for this extremely helpful tidbit:

  • Flash CS5, sound control

    hi guys
    im having a bit of a pickle with something im trying to do with Flash CS5 that i was able to do with CS3. hope fully someone can help.
    in CS3 i used to import a WAV sound to use as a soundtrack loop, using the MP3 compression on export.
    this avoided the sound from "glitching" when looping, due to the blank space an MP3 compressed file places at the end and beggining of the sound.
    then, to continue my way of adding perfect loops, and smooth preloaders, id unclick the Export on First Frame option from the sound file, and place the sound on frame two of the main timeline. frame one was for the preloader. to this sound i'd add a Stop event to avoid it from playing.
    last thing i'd do is add a piece of code attaching the sound from the library to be able to control it using ActionScript 2.
    this would get me a full control of the sound,without glitches between looping and a smooth preloader.
    and the sound played when asking with AS.
    now, i can't get this to work in CS5. im saving as CS4 but editing in CS5.
    what happens: the sound does not play when called with the actionscript.
    i'v figured it is the stop event that's interfering, but it shouldn't. why i've set the stop event is because otherwise, the sound starts playing on frame 2 (where it was placed to avoid the Export on First Frame), even without calling it with ActionScript.
    that alone is what i need help on. having the sound play only when called with actionscript, and have it exported on frame 2.
    anyone able to help with this?

    hi
    it seems that flash has to attach the sound (from the library) to the swf if you want to use it on runtime.
    so it seems that weather it be by exporting it on the first frame, or adding it manually on a frame of the timeline, both option are the same means towards that end.
    as for the using an external sound, although it's a solution, it is not really the way i want to go on this project.
    best regards

  • Is it possible to Embed Youtube Widescreen windows full options on Flash CS5 AS2 Website?

    Good Day
    Does anyone know How to Embed a Youtube widescreen Video window on a Flash Website, i'm using Flash CS5 and ActionScript 2???!!
    I've seen several video tutorials on youtube and other websites about this, but they only work with a window of 480px for 385px (4:3),
    which doesn't allow the fullscreen option on the lower bar of the video, because the player still had a silver bar not a black one !!!!
    This is the one i've been using!!!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfU5Hj3uKZ4
    I would like to use a widescreen window (16:9; 16:10), like the ones youtube curently uses, 360p; 480p;720p, like in this case:
    http://www.worldcarfans.com/111102637687/filming-the-new-porsche-911-at-speed-around-lagun a-seca
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxqcEYpKYWY; inside Porsche Channel - http://http://www.youtube.com/user/Porsche#p/c/C62AA82F9212FB59/0/ZxqcEYpKYWY
    I would very much appreciate any help you can give me!!!
    Thank you

    There are two options here that I can think of..
    1.  Preinstall AIR on their machines, and use AIR files.  That will work IF AIR is already installed.     Flash projectors have no ability to control the file system in this way, but AIR does.
    2. Use a Director projector.   There are Director Xtras that can control the file system, and you can embed a SWF in Director.  So you wouldn't have to recreate the SWF content, you'd only need to have Director and learn some basics about using SWF and making projectors.
    That's all I can think of.

  • MP3 Player in AS3 Flash CS5 with autoresume feature?

    I created a web site with an MP3 player on several of the pages. I created the player using AS3 in Flash CS5 Professional. It has a volume slider on it that I set the initial value to 2. It music that is loaded is identified in an XML file. If the user changes the volume, pauses or stops the music, I want to use autoresume (or something equivalent) to make sure the player continues in the same status across pages.The player is embeded on the pages using SWFObject.
    I have searched for several days on the web trying to find a solution and have not found one. I don't know if there is something I need to do in AS3, in Flash, on my pages or if it can be handled in PHP or XML. Does anyone know a good approach?

    Thank you for your help. I put the code in and it works except for one thing, the position of the slider does not change when I bring the player up the second time, it is always set to the default position. I do not know what value to store and reset for the slider position.
    I have three different books that I have searched and I have searched on the Internet but cannot find the answer. I have pasted the Action Script below. I hope you can help me. In the meantime, I will continue to look more myself. Thank you again.

  • How to Installing AIR3 SDK in Adobe Flash CS5.5?

    Hi All,
    Can  anyone help me, with installing AIR3 SDK in Adobe Flash CS5.5?,
    I try to extract rename AIR3.0 to AIR2.6 and copy to the same location as AIR2.6 in "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS5.5" and
    try to extract and add AIR3.0  to the same location as AIR2.6 in "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS5.5"
    But it's not work, I don't see publish for runtime AIR3.0.
    Thanks,
    Porawee

    Ok dasessig, I will explain step by step with my solved for WIN version reference from original http://blog.prevail.co.nz/2011/06/21/overlaying-air2-7-in-flash-cs5/.
    * I have installed only Adobe Flash Professional CS5.5, not need CS5.0, I don't test in OSX version but i think it's same as WIN version.
       1.  Download and extract the latest AIR 3.0 SDK.  and extrack to AIR2.6.
            Note : I got this file "air3_rc1_sdk_win_090611.zip" and extrack files to "AIR2.6"
       2.  Download and install Adobe Flash CS5.5.
       3.  Closed Flash Professional CS5.5.
       4.  Place the folder in either of the following locations:
              WIN: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS5.5\
              OSX: Applications/Adobe Flash CS5.5/
            Note : It's will replace WIN: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS5.5\AIR2.6
       5.  Create new folder name "AIR3.0" in "Adobe Flash CS5.5/Common/Configuration/ActionScript 3.0/"
       6.  Browse to the Adobe\Adobe Flash CS5.5\AIR2.6\frameworks\libs\air\ and copy airglobal.swc.
       7.  Paste the SWC "airglobal.swc" file in Adobe Flash CS5.5/Common/Configuration/ActionScript 3.0/AIR3.0/.
       8.  Browse to Adobe Flash CS5.5/Common/Configuration/Players/ and copy "AdobeAIR2_6.xml" and paste to new copy file.
       9.  Rename new copy file "AdobeAIR2_6.xml" to "AdobeAIR3_0.xml".
            Note : Make sure you rename new copy file NOT original file "AdobeAIR2_6.xml"
      10.  Open and Edit "AdobeAIR3_0.xml" to match below xml :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <players>
      <player id="AdobeAIR3_0" version="13" asversion="3" minasversion="3">
        <name>AIR 3.0</name>
        <publishobject2 id="Air2_5" version="2.6" intversion="2.6"></publishobject2>
        <path platform="WIN">Air2_5.dll</path>
        <path platform="MAC">Air2_5.bundle</path>
        <playerDefinitionPath as2="$(UserConfig)/Classes/FP9;$(UserConfig)/Classes/FP8;$(UserConfig)/Classes/FP7" as3="$(AppConfig)/ActionScript 3.0/AIR3.0/airglobal.swc" />
        <!-- This item is used to indicate that some UI integrated within Flash should be enabled for this player.

        </encodingPresets>
      </player>
    </players>
    11.  Run Adobe Flash CS5.5 > File > New... > ActionScrip 3.0
      12.  Now you have new file "Untitled-1.fla" then add below code to frame 1.
            import flash.desktop.NativeApplication;
            trace(NativeApplication.nativeApplication.runtimeVersion);
      13.  goto menu File > Publish Setting...   select target Player : AIR 3.0
      14.  Test with menu Control > Test Movie > in AIR Debug Launcher (Desktop)
      15.  Finally, you should have output in panel like this :
             [SWF] Untitled-1.swf - 2148 bytes after decompression
             3.0.0.3880
      Note : AIR3.0 for iOS and Android is below, you should followed step 1-10 before.
      AIR3.0 for iOS : open and edit "AiriPhone.xml" in "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS5.5\Common\Configuration\Players"
    < ?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

  • Adobe Flash CS5 has encountered a problem and needs to close

    Hi,
    I have two laptops. I have installed Adobe Flash CS5 in my first laptop (Windows XP). When I start the application, it shows the following message:
    "Adobe Flash CS5 has encountered a problem and needs to close"
    I have installed the Flash CS5 in my second laptop and it worked fine.
    Error signature:
    AppName: flash.exe AppVer: 11.0.0.485 ModName: updaternotifications.dll
    ModVer: 1.0.0.64 Offset: 0006a8dc
    Can anybody help?
    Thanks.

    try this also
    1. Reset preferences:
    To reset on Windows, delete:
    C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data Adobe\Flash CS4\
    C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashAuthor.cfg
    To reset on Mac OS X, delete:
    /Users/username/Library/Preferences/Flash CS4 Preferences
    /Users/username/Library/Preferences/Flash 10 MRU
    /Users/username/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.flsh-10.0.plist
    /User/%username%/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash CS4/
    /Library/Application Support/Macromedia/FlashAuthor.cfg
    2. Install the latest Flash update if available.
    3. Install the latest version of Flash.
    4. Install current Windows service packs and other updates.
    5.  Run Flash in a simplified mode (Windows). / Run Flash in safe mode (MAC  OS - Refer to http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/404/kb404936.html)
    Some  applications or services may cause system errors or freezes when  running concurrently with Flash. Services are specialized programs that  perform functions to support other programs. Before starting Flash,  disable other applications, including startup items (items that start  automatically), and services.
    To disable startup items and services, see "Disable startup items and services (Windows XP)" (TechNote kb404984).
    To re-enable startup items and services:
       1. Choose Start > Run, type msconfig, and click OK.
       2. Choose Normal Startup on the General tab, click OK, and restart the computer.
    Note: If unselected items were present on the Services or Startup tab, then you will need to unselect them again
    6. Install Flash from the desktop.
    7. Reinstall Flash in a simplified/safe (for MAC OS) mode.
    8. Run Flash in a new user account.
    9. Check for font problems.
    10. Optimize handling of temporary files by Windows XP.
    11. Set the virtual memory paging file to the default size.
    12. Repair and defragment hard disks.
    13. Scan the system for viruses.
    14. Identify the file that causes the problem.
    15. Install Adobe Flash CS4 on a different computer.

  • Problem with textboxes in Flash CS5

    Hi, I am currently a Flash CS4 user and am trying Flash CS5 currently to see if it is worth it to pay for the upgrade. I currently have a problem with the use of textboxes in CS5 comparing with the previous version. When I try to change the texts of a text box using the following command in actionscript:
    showlmytext.text = "My string: " +String(somevariable);
    I would get weird misaligned text outputted in my textbox, which exact same code did not cause this problem on Flash CS4.
    Can somebody please tell me what is the problem and how can I fix it?
    Thanks

    Hi Mario,
    I hope you are well. My name is Sandi Langlotz.
    At my job at greenidea.com, here in SF; I am having difficulty with using Hebrew in the trial download of CS5 Flash. Russ Mumford my boss has also contacted you regarding our problem.
    Flash has a new TLF (Text Layout Format tool).  My difficulty has to do with text boxes that are formatted for Right to Left text, with Hebrew selected as the Locale. We are pasting from Microsoft Word.
    I hope  that you may have a suggestion, a referral  or a possible work around for me to try.
    I have tried Adobe Customer Service several times to no avail.
    Problem 1.
    The first sentence below, (in blue) is correct format for Hebrew. Hebrew reads from R to Left.
    When I paste the Hebrew text into the Flash animation, one of two things can happen;
    the punctuation is cut off of the left side completely; or it is pasted in to the Right side of the Text box, (at the wrong end of the sentence).
    I have tried to click the cursor into the left in order to insert the punctuation mark; this works sometimes but often I am unable to click in to manually correct the problem. I don't understand why it is cutting it off, or why I am sometimes unable to click into the left side and insert the punctuation.
    Problem 2
    In the second paste (the 2nd bold sentence),  .CSO on the left side of the sentence is correct, as is the rest of the sentence.
    When I paste the text  into Flash from Word, Flash puts it in as reversed order. the word CSO. has the punctuation switched to the right (CSO.)  Flash reverses the order of the other characters in the sentence also (like in the 2nd black sentence).

    Adobe says it supports Right to Left text, but I can find no info on these two buggy problems. Do you have any idea what is wrong?
    Thank you ahead of time for any info or referrals you may suggest.

  • "the activex control for flash player could not be registered" - Solutions Roundup

    I recently ran into this problem on my computer:
    http://at32.s3.amazonaws.com/flash_install_problems2.jpg
    I am a Flash developer (as in I write SWFs, I don't work for Adobe).  and when I updated IE to 10.2, "the activex control for flash player could not be registered".  Since I am a developer, I also have Firefox and Chrome installed, with Flash running without problems.  For a long time now, Internet Explorer has used a different version (ActiveX) to the other browsers, which use plugins.  I am a strong supporter of Flash, it's great to develop with and has a very wide feature set which is growing all the time, unlike fixed technologies/standards.  However, the weakest part is the install process - I don't understand why their is a Download Manager.  Google Chrome does it's best (so far) by managing the install/update process entirely in the background.  Anyway, it was in my best interest to try and get to the bottom of this.
    For the record, on the problem machine I have Windows 7 with IE8, but I have seen almost  identical symptoms with IE9, Windows XP SP3, as well as various  iterations of Flash Player (10.0, 10.1, 10.2 and even some final  editions of version 9).
    First I tried the standard support here:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html
    Basically, doing the manual uninstall and manual install of the latest version (without using the download manager, or have IE open).  This did not work.  I also tried the Microsoft "subinacl" program, together with "reset_fp10.bat".  This didn't work either.  However, you should try all of these things first before progressing further.
    A quick note about people who had tried running the following at a command prompt: "secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db secsetup.sdb /verbose"
    I didn't do this, because on investigating further it didn't seem to work with Windows 7, only Windows XP, Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 - though there was a few threads where this had fixed the problem for some users.
    For my solution, it is recommended you use the manual uninstall / installers, so you should have them downloaded ready to use.
    I then heard about problems with permissions in the registry with the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\shockwaveflash.shockwave
    So I opened regedit.exe (start - run - typed "regedit.exe"), navigated to the key and sure enough, I couldn't open it - permission denied - even though I had an administrator account.  If for some reason, you can access this key (and any subkeys), then it's likely the following fix will not resolve the problem.
    I then done further diagnosis, by using Process Monitor to try and install Flash Player, and I got the following:
    http://at32.s3.amazonaws.com/flash_install_problems.gif
    This shows all the access denied errors the Flash Player install was experiencing when trying to write to the registry key.  This confirmed that this was the problem.  I only stress this because several people said it was unwise to tinker with the registry.  Though this is common advice, this is the only known fix for this precise problem at present, since you need to manually adjust the permissions yourself.  I don't know who is at fault here - Microsoft or Adobe - but let's just get Flash fixed...
    The solution:
    Firstly, you may want to backup your registry, or the exact key.  I didn't do this so I've provided no instructions on how to, but it is recommended for the paranoid.  Also make sure as much software is closed down as possible - browsers, IM software, any junk in your system tray. As way of example, I happened to have "BBC iPlayer" installed and running in the background which uses Adobe AIR and Flash Player, so I exited that too.
    1) Open regedit (start - run - type "regedit.exe").  You may need to right click on it and select "Run As Administrator", but I didn't as my account was already administrator.
    2) Navigate to the key. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\shockwaveflash.shockwave
    Click on it to confirm that you cannot access it (you will get an error) - if their are no problems - this probably isn't the cause of your issues.
    3) Right click on it and click Permissions, and ignore any message that may pop up.
    4) Under "Group or Usernames" click "Add".  Type your account name name, or "Administrators" in the box, then "Check Names" to format it correctly, then Ok.
    5) Now on the next screen click the checkbox to enable Full Control (this will also automatically enable "Read" permission too).
    6) Click Advanced, then the "Owner" tab at the top.  You will see that their is no "Current Owner".  This is what we will now fix.
    7) Click on your name to change the owner to (I went for Administrators).  Also enable the checkbox entitled "Replace Owner on subcontainers and objects".  Then click Ok.  You will get an error message, which you can try clicking Retry to, but hit Cancel - this is not a problem.
    8) Click Ok a couple of times and this part of your registry is now fixed.
    9) Now it's a simple case of running the manual Flash uninstall program, then finally the manual Flash installer (for Active X - not the Firefox/Chrome plugin versions).  To my surprise, after a couple of days looking into this - I finally had a solution and Flash in IE once more.  If you are using Firefox too you may find Flash is no longer installed their (the uninstaller removed it).  In this case just install via the Adobe site or try to watch a video on You Tube and you will be prompted or linked to the install.
    Hope this provides a good round up of the possible solutions to this problem.  Hopefully Microsoft or Adobe can find out what causes this issue in the first place so we don't have to go down this route for much longer.  Chrome's implementation of Flash shows how effortlessly things can work!

    They will stay on the screen.  However, Process Monitor is only intended for advanced users.  It is recommended that users try to navigate to the troublesome registry key using regedit, and see if they can access it or not without an error.  This is far easier than trying to use Process Monitor, which is very complicated.
    I used Process Monitor to confirm that it was just that key which was causing the problem, and not others.  Process Monitor is not to be confused with the new Resource Monitor which is accessible via Task Manager in Windows 7 (and possibly Vista).  If you must experiment (and Process Monitor is very useful for diagnosing many deep-level problems if you know what you're looking for) Process Monitor can be downloaded from here:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645
    It replaces the older Sysinternals "FileMon" and "RegMon".  For those interested in the technical side, I had to setup a number of filters to be able to get the results display as in the screenshot.  First of all to just show Registry events.  Then to just show events from the manual Flash activeX installer executable.  The I added a filter to show only non-successfull results.  And finally, for the purposes of the screenshot, added a filter to just show those with "Access Denied", since other non-critical errors are also picked up due to missing keys because installation has not yet been fully completed I guess.   When experimenting, most of these filters were applied using the "is not" boolean logic, which will make sense if you experiment with the program.
    Without adding any filters, it picks up so many events (hundreds per second) that it's otherwise unusable.  e.g. 40,000 events within the first few seconds of opening the program. For this reason, I recommend simply using Regedit to diagnose the problem with the particular Flash registry key.

  • Splash Screen for Android with Flash CS5.5

    How can I make a SplashScreen with Flash CS5.5 or just with AIR/AS3 codes. I need it while the App/Game is loading...
    I know that it's possible with Flex 4.5 as:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <s:ViewNavigatorApplication xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
                              xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
                              firstView="views.HomeView"
                              splashScreenImage="@Embed('splashscreen.png')" />
    http://workflowflash.com/98437/air-for-android-splash-screen-with-flex-4-5.php
    But I want to do it without Flex. So can I ?
    Thank you

    i'm not sure if this is necessary anymore, but i took the advise of another user here
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/764981
    the key difference is, the user stated a preloading swf needed to embed the image in order to display before the whole apk is loaded.
    Seems to be working for me anyway

  • Flash CS5 Windows 7 64-bits problem

    Hello and thank you for reading my problem and trying to help. I actually have a Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bits. So I've downloaded, extracted and installed Flash correctly. When I try to open the software, on the loading screen, the loading slows down on fonts and when building workspace a window appears and flash just freezes. I've tried running as an administrator, compatibility mode, yet nothing seems to work. When i checked out the folder, I found error logs. They are all the same, here's the content of one:

    Hi,
    In case some people are still trying to find a solution to this problem.
    In order to solve this I had to do the following:
    Assuming you installed the latest Java Runtime, in my case Java 1.6, you will need to uninstall it from your machine, delete the  bin and lib folders from C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CS5\jre.
    The next step google for ‘Java Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 22′.Install it and then  copy the bin and lib folders back to C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CS5\jre. After that you can go and install Java runtime 1.6 back. It’s  works with no errors now. The issue seems to be that Java 1.6 does not play nicely with Flash CS5 and CS5.5. This link helped me find the solution.

  • Error message starting up Flash CS5 -- appears to be caused by welcome screen

    Hello,
    I am running windows 7 64-bit, flash player debug (10.1 from labs) and CS5 Master collection.
    I staretd noticing an issue today -- Flash Professional CS5 has begun to freeze on opening it. I eventually get the message "a script in this movie is causing flash player to run slowly. if it continues to run, your computer might become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?". At this point, I am not running any movies, I am just trying to open flash Pro CS5. When I choose to click "yes" (eg abort the script), then the buttons on the welcome screen do not work. When I click "no" (and do not abort the script) then flash crashes some time in the first 5 minutes of authoring.
    I also noticed that if I disable the opening page (check "do not show again") and reopen flash -- then no problem
    Any ideas on what is happening - anyone?
    Thank you

    Hello
    Just wanted to report back this was a simple issue -- it turned out to be a corrupted configuration file for Flash CS5. I called Adobe tech support and an engineer helped me to do the following. Please remember I am running windows 7 (64 bit), so this is what I did for that OS ...
    First I closed flash CS5 pro. Then I navigated as follows ... from the C drive ==> then to the users file ==> then to my user file ==> then to appdata (this is normally hidden, so just unhide files or type appdata as next drill-down in navigation window after your user file) ==> then to Local ==> then to Adobe ==> then to Flash CS5 ==> then to en_US ==> then to configuration. Then I renamed the configuration file (to configurationold)
    I restarted flash pro CS5 -- and problem solved.
    Thanks kglad and everyone

  • How to set MinimumOSVersion iOS Flash CS5.5

    Hi,
    I thought I was finally ready to submit my app to the app store but then I realised I never saw anywhere to set the MinimumOSVersion for my app using Flash CS5.5, I need to set it to 5.1
    I have done alot of searching and brought up some old threads about manually changing the Info.plist file by unzipping it on a mac then re code signing it back together again. (nightmare)
    Is this still the case as the below threads are a bit old? Is there any other way to do this? Or is this still the only way to set the MinimumOSVersion using Adobe Air on Flash CS5.5. This seems to be a huge thing missing from Air? Will Adobe ever make this easy or is it Apples fault.
    Surely we can edit some Air 3.2 core files that set the MinimumOSVersion in the first place. I did do a quick check by unzipping and it seems Adobe Air is magically targeting iOS 4.0
    If anyone has any idea if its possible to edit the core Air 3.2 files so that it targets iOS 5.1 that would be a great help and probabaly easier than dissecting my .ipa file.
    Here are the below related threads.

    Hi,
    Thanks for a speedy reply.
    My app is basically a hybrid app (web app in a native container) When I was testing, the scrolling in my app did not work on iOS4 and the whole app was very slow but on iOS5.1 it was fine and very quick. I’m guessing the safari version made the difference.
    I know it will get rejected if I submit it as they will test on iOS4 which doesn’t work well at all and I don’t want users using it on iOS4 as it’s a bad experience. I know I am probably going to reduce my installs if it’s only for iOS5.1 but its only a free App and I don’t see any option if on iOS4 it’s pretty much broken.
    I really hope there’s an easy way or my last month’s work has been pretty much pointless.
