User defined joins in source qualifier
Hi, Could you please explain a little more. Are u just saying how to specify this in source qualifier query? Regards,Karthick
Hello All, Please help with your inputs. We have a situation to implement in informatica as below: We have tables Table_A and Table_B in Netezza. We have a sql request : SELECT DISTINCT P.XXX AS ECU_PARENT_PARAMETER_KEY, P2.XXX AS ECU_CHILD_PARAMETER_KEYFROM Table_B PAINNER JOIN Table_A PON PA.ABC = P.DEFINNER JOIN Table_A P2ON PA.IJK = P2.DEF How to implement this request in the source qualifier as bot the tables are in the same database. Thanks & RegardsBiswajeet.

Hello All, Please provide inputs on the below scenarion to implerment: SELECT DISTINCT P.XXX AS ECU_PARENT_PARAMETER_KEY, P2.XXX AS ECU_CHILD_PARAMETER_KEYFROM TABLE_B PAINNER JOIN TABLE_A PON PA.ABC = P.IJKINNER JOIN TABLE_A P2ON PA.DEF = P2.IJK TABLE_A and TABLE_B are both in same database NETEZZA. How do we implement it in a sorce qualifier as the database is same for both the tables. Please provide your inputs. Thanks & RegardsBiswajeet.

User Defined Function VS join - Performance....
Hi All,
while linking the mulitple table and getting the values ....which one is the best ?
Joining or User defined function.....
single row function
select a.name , get_salary(empid) from emp a;
Note : get_salary function will return the salary from salary tables.
Using joins
select a.name ,b.salary from emp a, salary b
where a.empid=b.empid;
which is the performancewise best ?
also if you give any related document also fine.
Thanks in advance.
Edited by: BASKAR NATARAJAN on Jan 6, 2011 10:09 PMDon't use such functions for joins. The function itself has to query the salary table. It will run the query against the salary table separately for each row that it reads from the emp table. You will end up with multiple recursive calls and possibly inconsistency in the output. (Imagine what would happen if the salary table were updated and commited while this query was running -- some rows would have been read with the pre-update values and others with the updated values).
Specifying the join in the query ensures that a single SQL call is executed and provides read consistency across all the rows it reads. And it is much faster, being one single parse and execute.

Source user defined in DIP Profile
Hi all,
When I'm creating profile for my DIP profile, I'm not able to find suitable source for my business. So I've to add my source there. Is there a way to define new source in DIP Profile without using SM30?
Thanks in adv,
LatuHi virendra,
I've used SM30 indeed to add user-defined source, but it just add the source. How can I add 'logic' for that one?
Pete,
-edit-
That page is protected with password. May be I have to ask my boss for the password Can you please give me the url of that DIP ebook?
I've read the note, but I can't find user exit for RRB. anyway thanks for the page Pete.

Hi,
The following is the setup.
1. I defined a DBAT - ORACLE CONNECTOR and was able to provision users to it.
2. Then I defined an user defined field in OIM i.e.
2.1 added in the User defined field list in Users form - branch
2.2 Added the entry with proper tags in formmetadata.xml
2.3 And also updated it in the xlWebAdmin_en_US.properties file
3. Restarted the server.
4. And in the DBAT provisioning process added a new task, attached a process task adapter in integration.
4.1 in Adapter variable mapping
Adapter return value
Map to - Process Data
Qualifier - DEFAULT_BRANCH ( I think target attribute name)
4.2 input value
Map to - user definition
qualifier - branch
5. Added the USR_UDF_BRANCH CODE , Update DEFAULT_BRANCH to the the lookup usr process triggers.
When an end user modifies from the account profile, it only reflects in the process form and not in the target table
It gives the following error and also an error for email notification which i have not configured. it is using OOTB user profile edit process.

Kunal JainYou need to give permission to update the process form to any users who would be the source of the change. So if joe schmoe is updating the user, they need permission to update the process form for any user they update.

RE:[nQSError: 15018] Incorrectly defined logical table sourc
Hi Experts,
Actually we have a report by using X subject area and there are two users(Y,Z) accessing the report but for one user(Y) the report is looking fine for other user(Z) it is showing the below error
but for both users having same permission on the X subject area.
*[nQSError: 15018] Incorrectly defined logical table source (for fact table ABC) does not contain mapping for .ROW_ID)*
here in the report does not contain any column from the ABC fact table .
weather this is an security issues or any technical issue because one user is getting the report and other user is not getting the report.
Can any one guide me regarding the above issue...
Regards,Since you have formatted the error message its not clear ROW_ID is from which table.
Here I'll give few hints to cross check.
1 There should be no key on fact tables in the Business Model.
2 Use Complex joins, not Foreign Key joins, in the Business Model.
3 All dimensions should have hierarchies defined

Accessing a Cache From an Oracle CQL User-Defined Function
According to the docs ...
I am to use the following element to set the cache property in my bean...
<wlevs:property name="cache" ref="cache-id"/>
However, when I set it, the assembly does not validate.
If I use <property>, I get a NullPointerException on each request when my processor runs.
Using the same CQL code..
Without the <property> tag, the call to the user-defined function works (but I don't have the cache attribute set obviously).
Here is the excerpt from my assembly...
<bean id="cacheFunction" class="ou.cep.function.CacheFunction">
<property name="cache" ref="myCache"/>
</bean>
<!-- The default processor for OCEP 11.0.0.0 is CQL -->
<wlevs:processor id="myProcessor">
<wlevs:listener ref="CacheChannel"/>
<wlevs:function ref="cacheFunction" function-name="isValidID" exec-method="isValidID">
</wlevs:function>
</wlevs:processor>
To repeat, with the same CQL with the user-defined function call, if I remove the property element from the bean definition, I can call the function successfully (it just doesn't do what I need it to do). In this case, I am still using the ref=cacheFunction for the wlevs:function within the processor.
What am I doing wrong?
Edited by: fl0at on Oct 5, 2010 12:22 PM
Edited by: fl0at on Oct 5, 2010 12:28 PMThe case is solved, not sure I could explain why, but...
This implementation of the user-defined function was a migration from an implementation using the same cache in the join. So, when I removed the cache reference in the source stream (where I am now executing a function that accesses the cache), the problem went away and everything is working.
I can explain further if there are questions.
If anyone has thoughts on this, please advise.
As always, thanks for the help. -
How to use user-defined packages in JAX-RPC web service
I am trying to use Object of my class located in my package in jax-rpc webservice,the code is
package supercomputer;
import Hello.*;
public class SuperImpl implements SuperIF
public String sendParam(String data)
Temp ob=new Temp();
int i=ob.get1(10000);
return data+"returned by supercomputer";
Temp is located in Hello package,I have jar the Hello package as Hello.jar and has set its classpath in targets.xml of Ant tool.
The code compiles well and service is deployed successfully,but when i try to call the service from the client its gives me following error.
[echo] Running the supercomputer.SuperClient program....
[java] java.rmi.ServerException: Missing port information
[java] at com.sun.xml.rpc.client.StreamingSender._raiseFault(StreamingSender.java:357)
[java] at com.sun.xml.rpc.client.StreamingSender._send(StreamingSender.java:228)
[java] at supercomputer.SuperIF_Stub.sendParam(SuperIF_Stub.java:60)
[java] at supercomputer.SuperClient.main(Unknown Source)
I dont know if it deploys why it gives error on client side.
Please tell how to use user-defined packages and class in jax-rpc service code ,i am not talking about passing user-defined parameters i am just talking about making objects of user defined classes in jax-rpc service.I think there is some problem in classpath.
Please guide me in doing that.
Thanks,
FarrukhFarrukh,
I don't know if your error is about a missing class from your custom package, ... what track did you followed to say that?
To use your package in the implementation of you web service, you should only follow the rules of making a web application: put your package jar in your \lib directory inside WEB-INF/ or your package classes unjared in classes (also in WEB-INF/).
As I already said, I have doubts that your error should be originated from a missing class from your package, but:
-try to see the logs (errors?) when you deploy your web service that could give a hint about the problem.
-try to see if you can access your endpoint through your browser to see if there is a online status
-display your config/WSDL file, and the steps you did to build your web service.

Java classpath error while crawling sample user defined datasource (SampleA
Hi All,
I am trying to run the sample crawler agent provided by ultra search "SampleAgent.java". For this
I have created and configured the user defined datasource type and the user defined data source (for the NEWS TABLE) as per the readme file of the Sample Crawler agent.
I have also created a schedule for this user defined type.
However, while executing the schedule I am getting the following error:
WKG-30116: Can not find agent class "SampleAgent" from the java class path
Please let me know the reason for the error. Am I right in creating and executing a schedule for user defined data source? (the doucmentation never says that, for user defined datasource, I need to create a schedule and execute it!!)
Also, after going through some of the postings in this discussion forum I understood that I need to check my java classpath from the WK$CRAWLER_DEFAULT_CONFIG table.
In this table my the value for
CC_JAVA_EXEC_PATH is "C:\oracle\ora92\jdk\bin\java.exe -ms16m -mx256m"
and
CC_JAVA_CLASS_PATH is
"-classpath
C:\oracle\ora92\jdbc\lib\classes12.zip;
C:\oracle\ora92\jdbc\lib\nls_charset12.zip;
C:\oracle\ora92/ultrasearch/lib/ultrasearch.jar;
C:\oracle\ora92/ultrasearch/lib/ultrasearch_db.jar;
C:\oracle\ora92/lib/mail.jar;
C:\oracle\ora92/lib/activation.jar;
C:\oracle\ora92/ultrasearch/lib/jgl3.1.0.jar;
C:\oracle\ora92/lib/xmlparserv2.jar;
C:\oracle\ora92/lib/xschema.jar;
C:\oracle\ora92/ultrasearch/bin;
C:\oracle\ora92/ultrasearch/lib/agent/"
Do I need to change any of these values? If so, what changes should I make and how should I make those changes?
NOTE THAT I AM USING THE DATABASE VERSION OF ULTRASEARCH.
Thanks in advance,
Amit SangleHi All,
I would appreciate any help that I get regarding this post.
If anyone has run the Sample crawler Agent please let me know the steps needed to make it work. I have followed the steps mentioned in the readme file here:
http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/ultrasearch/doc_library/ultrasearch9_2/sample_agent_readme.htm
Are there any other configurations that I need to do? Am I missing something? Please let me know.
Thanks and Regards,

SALES ORDER: Total of a Field from the Grid in a User-Defined Field in ORDR
Hello!
I created a User-Defined Field called "U_Soma" in table ORDR (Marketing Documents / Title).
I need this U_Soma field Totalize the content of another User-Difined Field called "U_TotalPorUM" created in table RDR1 (Marketing Documents / Rows). It must get the Sum the value of all rows in the current record being edited.
Using the Query below, it works fine with already saved records:
SELECT SUM(T1.[U_TotalPorUM]) FROM ORDR T0 INNER JOIN RDR1 T1 ON T0.DocEntry = T1.DocEntry WHERE T0.DocEntry = $[ORDR.DocEntry]
However, I need that it work with non saved (yet) records.
Thank you!

Edited by: ValerioOliveira on Apr 22, 2010 10:14 PMGordon, thank you for your fast answers!
In other circumstances I would agree with you.
But the U_Soma field must be used to control the maximum weight of a charge.
It becames very usefull if user can see that the charge limit is reached, still when the Sales Order is being edited.
(The U_TotalPorUM field shows the weight of each item).
I would appreciate any help!
Thanks a lot!

Creating a user-defined field in VL06
Dear all ,
Please guide me how to add few user defined fields in the output list of standard VL06 transaction code - (Delivery Monitor Report - WS_DELIVERY_MONITOR) - I have to add in the option of 'List Outbound deliveries' -
Pls revert.
Thanks in Advance.
P.G.RHai
Follow the bellow steps for creating User Defined Field Exit
Step by step procedure for creating Field Exits
There are eight steps to creating a field exit:
Step 1: Determine Data Element
Step 2: Go To Field Exit Transaction
Step 3: Create Field Exit
Step 4: Create Function Module
Step 5: Code Function Module
Step 6: Activate Function Module
Step 7: Assign Program/Screen
Step 8: Activate Field Exit
Step 1: Determine Data Element
- Before you can begin adding the functionality for a field exit, you must know the corresponding data element.
- An easy way to determine the data element associated to a particular screen field is to:
Go the appropriate screen.
Position the cursor in the appropriate field.
Press F1 for field-level help.
Click on the Technical info pushbutton (or press F9) on the help dialog box.
On this Technical Information dialog box, the data element will be specified if the field is 'painted' from the ABAP/4 Dictionary.
Step 2: Go To Field Exit Transaction
- The transaction to create field exits is CMOD.
- You can use the menu path Tools -> ABAP/4 Workbench -> Utilities -> Enhancements -> Project management.
- From the initial screen of transaction CMOD, choose the Text enhancements -> Field exits menu path.
- After choosing this menu path, you will be taken to the field exits screen. From here, you can create a field exit.
NOTE : Even though you use transaction CMOD to maintain field exits, you do not need to create a project to activate field exits.
Step 3: Create Field Exit
- From the field exit screen of transaction CMOD, choose the Field exit -> Create menu path.
- After choosing this menu path, a dialog box will prompt you for the appropriate data element .
- Enter the data element name and click the Continue pushbutton.
- Now, you will be able to create the function module associated to the data elements field exit.
Step 4: Create Function Module
- You will automatically be taken to the Function Library (SE37) after entering a data element name and clicking the Continue pushbutton.
- In the Function module field, a function module name will be defaulted by the system based on the data element specified. This name will have the following convention:
FIELD_EXIT_<data element>
- You can add an identifier (an underscore followed by a single character ).
- The first function module for a data elements field exit must be created without an identifier.
- To create the function module, click on the Create pushbutton, choose menu path Function module -> Create, or press F5.
- After choosing to create the function module, you will get the warning: "Function module name is reserved for SAP". This message is just a warning so a developer does not accidentally create a function module in the field exit name range. By pressing Enter, you will be able to go ahead and create the function module.
- Before coding the function module, you will have to specify the function modules attributes -- function group, application, and short text.
Step 5: Code Function Module
- From the function modules attributes screen, click on the Source code pushbutton or choose the Goto -> Function module menu path to the code of the function module.
- Here you will add your desired functionality for the field exit.
- Remember that field exits function module will have two parameters -- one importing parameter called "INPUT" and one exporting parameter called "OUTPUT". These parameters will be set up automatically by the system.
- You must remember to assign a value to the OUTPUT field. Even if the value does not change, it must be moved from the INPUT field to the OUTPUT field.
Step 6: Activate Function Module
- After coding the function module, you must remember to activate it.
- Use the Function module -> Activate menu path to activate the function module.
- At this point, you can return to the field exit transaction.
- You should be able to 'green arrow' back to this transaction.
- When you return to the field exit transaction, you will see an entry for the newly created field exit.
- At this point, the field exit is global. That is, it applies to all screens that use a particular data element. On any screen that uses the data element, the corresponding field exit function module will be triggered, once it is active.
- Also, the field exit will not be triggered yet because it is inactive.
Step 7: Assign Program/Screen
- This step is only needed if you want to make a field exit local.
- To make a field exit local, select the field exit and click on the Assign prog./screen pushbutton.
- In the dialog box , indicate the appropriate program name and screen number.
This information indicates that the field exit is local to the specified screen in the specified program.
- In the dialog box, you determine which function module gets executed for the field exit by specifying the identifier in the Fld. Exit field.
- If this field is left blank, the function module triggered will be 'FIELD_EXIT_<data element>'.
- If a single-character identifier is entered into the field, the function module triggered will be 'FIELD_EXIT_<data element>_<identifier>'.
Step 8: Activate Field Exit
- The field exit must be active for it to be triggered by the system.
- Activate the field exit by choosing the Field exit -> Activate menu path.
- After assigning the field exit to a change request, its status will change to Active and it will be triggered automatically on the appropriate screen(s).
NOTE : In order to activate the field exit the profile parameter abap/fieldexit = YES must be set on all application servers

Validation returns : no data found + unhandled user-defined exception
Hi, I'm working with Application Express 4.1.1.00.23.
I have an application for timesheet management.
On one page, I've got a report (not interactive) in which you can enter the hours you've worked. First you add a free line, choose the task and then enter the hours you've spent.
You can only have one empty line at a time. If you try to add a line when you already have an empty line, a validation will display an error. It worked fine in version 3.2. Now we upgraded to 4.1 and get a weird error :
1) The validation msg appears fine
2) The report appears fine
3) There is a msg at the end of the report saying :
report error:
ORA-01403: no data found
ORA-06510: PL/SQL: unhandled user-defined exception
Could somebody point out the source of this problem ?
Thank you!

Binding a Check Box with a User Defined Field
Hi everyone,
i v created a user defined field (U_CheckPro)in the system table "OITM" with two values: Y for Yes and N for No. In relation to that i v also created a check box on the form "150" and would like to know how can i bind my checkbox with my user defined field properly.
The user would be than able to enable or disable the check box for each item (article). The user setting schould be than be active and valid in sbo-business logic, each time an item is selected. (for example in case of sales order ID 133, "OINV").
Any helfpul hints? Samples would be welcome as well.
Thanks and regards

Hi Rasmus,
thank you very much for your helpful hint. I guess my problem is solved by that - nevertheless here is my complete code sequence once again in case of possible errors.
I would appreciate any additional suggestion for improvement of the same.
Thanks and regards
Alban

I have created one form using screen painter displaying text boxes and bind them to the table.
This form is working absolutely fine when there are some data in table (i.e. Browse using navigation)
My problem is, when I click add button from tool bar the "OK" button turn to "Add" that means the form is set to Add mode, but when I click "Add" button after entering some data nothing happens and input data is not stored in Table. The same "OK" Button turned to "Update" when I do changes in loaded data, but my changes are not reflected to table after I click "Update".Thanks Nagarajan,
None.
There is no such query. The table fields is directly linked to Edit Box or Combo Box in form.
From the examples I learned that I have to do something like this to get my table updated
Dim oUsrTbl As SAPbobsCOM.UserTable
Dim Res As Integer
oUsrTbl = oCompany.UserTables.Item("DRIVERMST")
oUsrTbl.Code = oBPC.Value 'Item Specific of Driver Code Edit Box
oUsrTbl.Name = Left(oBPN.Value, 30) 'Item Specific of Name Edit Box
oUsrTbl.UserFields.Fields.Item("U_FullName").Value = oMFN.Value
oUsrTbl.UserFields.Fields.Item("U_FatherName").Value = oFTHN.Value
oUsrTbl.UserFields.Fields.Item("U_BirthDate").Value = oDOB.Value
oUsrTbl.UserFields.Fields.Item("U_PhoneNo").Value = oPHN.Value
(Similar For rest ofthe fields)
Res = oUsrTbl.Add()
Just let me know that is this necessary to do like above.. To be frank there are few more fields and matrices on the form which I didn't mentioned. I am just trying to get recovered from first step to proceed further.
