I'm trying to install Adobe Flash Player 12. I have tried it on Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.
I continually get the message "The user does not have sufficient privileges to install Adobe Flash Player"
How can I install Adobe Flash Player??
Any help is appreciated!!March 12, 2014
Hi Pat,
Thank you so much for your reply. Yes I am the Administrator. Nothing worked until I went into my security and disabled my firewall and my security tab. Then Flash Player 12 downloaded without a hitch. Then I quickly re-enabled both my firewall and security settings. I have no idea why it worked but it did.
Thank you so much for your assistance!!
I wish you a great week!
Sincerely,
Lori -
I have checked all of my permissions and contiue to get this message after 68% mark when trying to install Adobe flash player. User does not have sufficient privileges to install adobe flash player. A required file (C:\windows\syswow64\macromed\flash\flashplayer.xpt:5) could not be written due to insufficient permission.
Perform a clean install as described in https://forums.adobe.com/thread/928315

My browser is firefox.
"The user does not have sufficient privileges to install Adobe Flash Player" is the incessant problem I've had many times updating Flash.
Come on guys, this is getting beyond ridiculous. The install always stops at 55% exactly, and never completes, leaving me to abandon Firefox for Chrome. I mucked about the last half a dozen times this happened during the update and just by sheer accident it managed to install, but it's been 2 hours of similar mucking about and I'm now getting nowhere.
This has been a persistent problem and affected many firefox users for years now, as I've seen both by my own experience and by searching google. Isn't there a way you all can provide a single SIMPLIFIED solution to this issue, either by coordinating with firefox or by providing a Firefox "unique" installer? Really it's too infuriating.
Anyway, before anyone asks, yes I'm logged on as the admin, and yes I've run the installer "as the admin" by right clicking. I've also gone ahead and completely uninstalled flash (and emptied the folders as requested in other threads here) and reinstalled, only to watch the progress bar halt at 55% as per usual and leave me clicking that stupid Chrome icon to have a working flash program.
Honestly folks, why, after years, does this continue to be a persistent issue? Fix it for the love of God! Are you lot the guys doing the ObamaCare website or what? We firefox folks are loyal to our browser, and installing new versions of flash on this browser is an unnecessary bloody pain in the you know what.
Sorry for the visible frustration, but if someone could please provide a universal working solution I wouldn't need to be on here whinging and moaning.I have had the same problem, but found that doing it this way, eradicated the issue for me-
I am no computer expert and have experimented over time until i found what has worked for myself.
I hope this helps others to resolve this problem.
If you are unsure, then please get somebody that has an idea what they are doing to prevent any accidental deletion of system files!!!!!!!
This is a Microsoft windows 7 PC, not Apple Mac.
slightly lengthy, but has stopped me pulling hairs out and stopped swearing at the computer.
Allowed for me to open e learning that needed adobe to continue with learning.
Firstly:
Download the current uninstallerUninstaller for Windows
Close all browser windows and run the uninstaller
Restart Windows.
Delete all remaining files and folders located in the following directories. (these directories are probably hidden away from sight)
(tip: copy and paste ONE of these paths into the path/search bar in an Explorer window)
C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash (if you are using a 64-bit system)
which should then display a white page with a top line in bold letters saying something like:-
"Index of C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\" as shown below:
This INFORMATION is only needed for the location as to where these files are hidden so DO NOT !!!!! click on any of the folders within this browser, as they will download into the download folder and cause more problems.
THIS WILL SHOW WHERE THE FOLDERS ARE HIDING WITHIN THE COMPUTER ITSELF, BUT THEY ARE PROBABLY HIDDEN, UNTIL YOU UNHIDE THE FOLDER(S) THAT YOU NEED.
MINIMIZE THIS SCREEN TO ONE HALF OF THE SCREEN, AND HAVE THE FOLDER OF THE COMPUTER ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SCREEN, SO THAT YOU CAN FOLLOW WITHOUT HAVING TO REMEMBER WHAT IS NEEDED TO BE DONE NEXT
Secondly:
Go onto DESKTOP
double click on computer
then double click on "C"
go to organize on top left corner under backwards arrow,
click on "folder and search options"
click on "view" tab,
look for heading "Hidden files and folders"
click on "show hidden files, folders, and drives"
click "Apply"
CLICK "OK"
Most folders will be a bright yellow folder, whereas the hidden folders that you have now made reappear will be a shaded yellow.
You should still have the operating system IDE (C) folder open.
Thirdly:
Look for:
Open folder "Windows"
Open Folder "System32"
Find Folder "Macromed"
Right Click on folder and look down for "Delete" left click which will then put the folder into the waste basket on the computer.
Empty the wastebin if it is on desktop by right clicking and choosing "Empty Recycle Bin"
close all explorer/Google pages.
then repeat the process as near top of page from Computer --> C Drive --> all the way to
Hidden files and folders
Forthly:
THEN !!!!!
click on "DON'T show hidden files, folders, or drives"
click "apply"
click "OK"
THAT WILL HIDE THE SYSTEM FOLDERS
Fifthly:
CLOSE ANY FOLDER OR BROWSER ON THE COMPUTER SO THAT YOU ARE BACK TO THE DESKTOP.
FINALLY:
OPEN BROWSER
YOU SHOULD THEN BE ALLOWED TO INSTALL ADOBE WHEN OPENING A FRESH BROWSER -
The user does not have sufficient privileges to install Adobe Flash Player
Hi, I'm having a very hard time installing the newest version of Adobe Flash player. When I run the installer I get the error message "The user does not have sufficient privileges to install Adobe Flash Player". This all started after Flash had given me several popups about a new update, but the update wouldn't install correctly. Eventually I uninstalled Adobe Flash and I've been unable to reinstall it at all since.
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, and I do have an administrator account. I'm trying to isntall the Flahs plugin for Firefox, but it also wont work in IE. So far I've tried running the instaler as an administrator, doing a clean install and running the installer from another user account (also an administrator). None of these things have worked, and I can't find any other suggestions.
Thanks in advance for your assistance!Download the offline installers from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_header and save them to disk, then right-click on each installer and select 'Run As Administrator'.

Adding more questions...
Is the user submitting a form?
Which form?
Which scsm roles are the user member of?
Any data model customizations related to the process?
I've seen something like this before at one of my clients where a custom relationship was used. The problem only arose when the user tried to relate an incident to another object
using the custom relationship. Normally this shouldn’t be a problem but in their case it was.

"the user does not have sufficient privileges to install adobe flash player" continious error
Hi.
Its now several weeks I fail to update the Flash Player on my PC.
I am using Firefox (fully updated) and my computer is continuously checked for viruses.
I have searched for solutions in other forums and literally tried them all (including creating a new account and trying to install from there).
I download the file successfully, it reached the 70%' or so and complete the downloading but the moment it tried to install it crashes and gives me the message as shown in the photo attached.
I have rebooted my computer several times, and nothing seems to be of help or solution.
Your assistance is kindly needed.I did and I still get the an error.
Any other solution? -
What does "You do not have sufficient access privileges" mean?
Hello Gurus!
I am wondering what does "You do not have sufficient access privileges" mean? I have a G$ with 2 internal hard drives. One has OSX 10.3.9 loaded on it and the other has OSX 10.4.7 loaded on it. When I boot up in 10.4.7 and try to access (open or copy) anything in the the desktop, documents, library, movies, music or pictures folders in my user folder on the 10.3.9 disk, it tells me that "I do not have sufficient access privileges"! This is a single user machine and it automatically logs in as me... the administrator. I tried to look at Apple's technical documents regarding permissions and privileges, but it is very confusing with all of it's terminal commands and lingo. Does anyone know an easy (and hopefully GUI) way around this problem?
Thanks Much,
MarkIf you have a different system on each HD then you do not have a single user machine. The user on one system/boot volume is not the same user as the one on the other, even if they ahve the same name and password. If you boot from the 10.3 volume, you can select your user folder, go to File-Get Info, and change the access for others to read and write and click on the apply to enclosed items button. You should then be able to boot from the other system and move stuff around as you see fit. Of course, this is not a terribly secure state to leave your system in, as anyone who can gain access to your Mac can get at everything on your 10.3 home folder.
If you try this route, I'd suggest doing it only long enough to move everything to one home folder and then revert the access privs to the way they were. -
SCSFileDownloadServlet fails: User 'guest' does not have sufficient priv.
Hi,
We have an ADF application that is using SCSFileDownloadServlet to get documents from UCM. We added the servlet in web.xml and we are using this link to download the documents: /getfile?adapterName=our_adapter_name&dDocName=document12345&dID=12345
The issue is that sometimes it works but sometimes it fails throwing this message in the logs:
Event generated by user 'guest' at host 'CIS'. Unable to download 'COR-ER-421722'. User 'guest' does not have sufficient privileges. [ Details ]
An error has occurred. The stack trace below shows more information.

Is it possible to set a user/password to this servlet so it is able to download the documents everytime?
Thanks,
JosueHi go9189,
According to your description, you come across the error that User 'guest' does not have permission to run DBCC checkprimaryfile. This issue could happen when the login account doesn't have CREATE DATABASE, CREATE ANY DATABASE,
or ALTER ANY DATABASE permission in SQL Server instance, or that the login account has no access to the mdf and ldf files when attaching database, so SQL Server recognize the login account as a "Guest".
To solve the issue, you could pay attention to the points below.
1. Ensure that the login account has at least CREATE DATABASE, CREATE ANY DATABASE, or ALTER ANY DATABASE permission. You could grant the fixed server role 'dbcreator' or 'sysadmin' to the login account following the steps below.
a. Connect to SQL Server instance with the login account which has sysadmin fix server role.
b. Expand the folder 'Security', right click the login, and select Properties.
c. In the Server Roles tab, check the checkbox for 'dbcreator' or 'sysadmin'.
2. Make sure that the the login account has full control permission on the mdf and ldf files. For how to grant the login account with full control permission on the mdf and ldf files, please refer to the steps in the following article:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727008.aspx

I created a custom security extension following the steps listed in the Readme_Security Extension Sample. It works fine if I login as the user that is specified AdminConfiguration section of the rsreportserver.config file but if I
log in as another user, I get this error: User '' does not have required permissions. Verify that sufficient permissions have been granted and Windows User Account Control (UAC) restrictions have been addressed. I've added the user to both System Administrator
and System User roles to try to get it to work but still no luck.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks.Hi MetronM,
The issue is due to that user have no permission to access the report server. In report manager, Reporting Services includes predefined roles that we can assign to users and groups to provide immediate access to a report server. Each role defines a collection
of related tasks.
You can refer to the following steps to assign corresponding role to the user.
Open report manager.
Click “Folder Setting” button.
Click “New Role Assignment” icon.
Type the user name and select the corresponding role.
There is an article about Granting Permissions on a Native Mode Report Server, you can refer to it.

We have installed RM client in the POC server .
Installed Deployment Agent in Dev server .
We created Configuration stages for POC->Dev.
We created a template with x copy deployer and selected source as build definition.
While releasing we faced following issue ,
The release was success in POC (Where RM client is installed), but in DEV environment (Which is different server)it got rejected because of the error
"Package location(Path) does not exist or deployer user does not have access"Hi Dhamayandhi
There is quite a bit to do to get RM working successfully. I have a soup-to-nuts guide on implementing continuous delivery with TFS and RM
here.

List the items the user does not have access to.
I have a requirement to show the user a list of all the libraries of a site with the number of items in each even if the user does not have rights to the library. (the link or button will be grayed out if the user has no access)
I am looking for opinions on how to do it with the best performance possible.
The first candidate is to first enumerate all the items in all the libraries with elevated then do the same as the logon user and compare the collections.
The drawback is performance so maybe rely on the assumption that the overall content of the site does not change often so keep the collection from the elevated run in cache (with configurable lifetime) and only run as user on page load and compare with the
cache.
I am sure there is probably a better way so let's here it. can we take advantage of search?
This is on SP2013 but we are not using apps for unrelated reasons. We can use server object model.
Thank you all.
Ofer GalHi,
I believe Search cant be used since Search is Security Trimmed. Search will not return the result if user dosent have the permission.
Thanks! Best Regards, Prasham Sabadra http://prashamsabadra.blogspot.in
