User Enterable Form

Does XML Publisher support user enterable Form? What I wanted to do is creating a fillable form in Adobe Designer 7.0 and define it in Concurrent manager. When I run program in concurrent manager it assign respecive values to the form field that are exist in the system and if not user can enter what ever they want to enter. Is this possible? Can I test it in desktop version of XML template viewer?
Any thoughts?

I have a requirement where i need to get the user entered value in the Parameter of a concurrent program while submitting it. i tried to query the FND_CONCURRENT_REQUESTS table but in that it stores the ID values from the value set of the Parameter.
After submitting the Concurrent request when we click on the view Details button it opens a form where it displays the arguments in the parameter field . i want to get that string.

Can you create a user entered text field that flows content in a subform?

I am working on a conversion project taking a document library of over 600 forms from Word into PDF, for the most part it's simple and binding fields to the database schema and using subforms is working quite well - however, there are some instances where there is a combination of user entered fields mixed with database fields and in some cases the end user fields are all there are but the amount of content can vary from 250 characters to thousands. The project manager wants a PDF that enables users to enter whatever amount of text they need to and have the form layout function the way it does as if all fields were populated by the database - I don't know of a way to make that work unless content is entered in the schema first (or implement CM and have all users working in LiveCycle, but the database uses PDF, sothat's not an option right now).
If anyone has any ideas how to make these things work I would greatly appreciate hearing about it.

    If you can post your form in the post, I can have a look at it and provide my feedback.
    I created a sample file for your reference..
    1) The Content property for the Page1 was set to Flowed.
    2) Each text box is placed inside a Subform which is also has the content property set to Flowed.
    3) In the Form Properties, under the Default tab, set the PDF render format as Dynamic XML form.
    4) In the Form Properties, under the Preview tab, set the Preview Type as "Interactive Form" and Preview Adobe XML Form as "Dynamic XML form". (this step is for the previewing the PDF in the designer).
    5) Finally save the form as Dynamic XML form. (File Menu -> Save As).

Validate duplicate data entry by user on form

On a form I have a block, in the block I have 3 fields. On block level on 'when-validate-record' I am trying to write a trigger. what I am trying to do is the following:-
If the user enters 'abcd' in the field... it's o.k
then he moves on to enter another record without saving the first record and enters 'abcd' again in the same field. (means the data is not saved in the table yet)
I want to pop up a message here and tell the user that he has entered the same data before in one of the records and he cannot do it again.
The trigger should be able to scan for all the records in the block and see if the data he is entering has been entered before on the form. I also have to check wether the data does not exist in the table as well.
that means I have to validate that 'abcd' should not be in the table and also 'abcd' should not be on the form as entered by the user.
Does anyone know what to do? this is what I am doing but it does not work?

it gives me error message 'illegal restiction first_record' and the logic does not work..

Are you sure you're on the right forum? As far as I understood you are working with Oracle forms, and if you do not save the 1st row into Oracle DB ("means the data is not saved in the table yet"), then it's the buisiness of your client how to validate duplicates.
I also have to check wether the data does not exist in the table as well. UNIQUE constraint is the straightforward solution in 99.99% of the cases

User-entered field treated as read-only

I created a large form in version 7. I brought it into version 8 to work on it some more. I believe this may be related to going from 7 to 8...
I have lots of numeric fields in rows and columns. All the fields are User Entered - Optional. When I view it in Preview, one field in the middle will not allow entry. It's as if the field were Read Only. I go back to Design mode and the field is still listed as User Entered. This occurs on a few pages.
Anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?

My office uses Times New Roman as a standard font for all our forms, I dragged several of the most used standard objects into a blank form, altered them to fit our standards and then dragged them back into the standard tab. Much easier than going through the process each and every time you need to pull a field in, fyi. You can also put a script into a field and put it into either the custom tab or create your own tab for personal objects, I find this saves me huge time by not having to re-type scripts over and over.

How to read User ID from the request Form and pre populating in the AD User process form before provisioning

I am trying to read the user Id from the submitted AD User request form( Catalogue AD User form. I need User Id,firstname and lastname inorder to prepopulate the common name as in this format - lastname,firstname (userid) for the user to be provisioned in Active Directory.
So after filling the AD User request form with User Id and Organization and submitting the request, I am trying to
prepopulate the common name in the process form before the provisioning.
The prepopulate adopter for the common name is configured to read the firstname, lastname and userid. firstname and
lastname variables are mapped to User definition and user Id is mapped to Process Data. In this setup I am not getting the
User Id value from process data, it is empty.
Is this a bug with OIM 11g R2 or I need to do it differently in order to read the user Id that user has entered in the
request form for populating the common name?

Your form is not shared so I have not been able to access it. But I have updated mine. There are now two approaches, one that follows on from the above method and updates each drop down list in each row. The second updates a separate dataset that the drop down list is bound to. This second approach requires the remerge() method which can cause problems if your code has updates some form properties like a borders color as these will be reset, but the code is simplier and you will only have one list to maintain. The add button click code is;

User entered text in a Report..

For the Report that I am generating, most of the data will come from user entered text like descriptions and policies.
I am thinking that the best way to do this, is use a Java GUI, and have this GUI prompt the user for all user entered data to be included in the report, and then have the GUI make an http call to rwcgi60.
Is this the best approach?

well, this is one way todo it. you could also create a forms or portal-forms application to enter the data, save it into a database table and then invoke the report.
that mainly depends on the requirements for your application.

You have to write the code in EVENT 01 in SE54 transaction. Go to SE54, enter your Ztable name and in the menu 'Environment-->Events'. Press 'ENTER' to go past the popup message. In the next screen, click on 'New Entries'. In the first column, enter 01 and in the next column give some name for your routine(say UPDATE_USER_DATE_TIME). Then click on the souce code icon that appears in blue at the end of the row. In the code, you need logic like below.

Here ZZTABLE is the Z table and ZZ_USER, ZZ_DATE, and ZZ_TIME are the fields that are updated.

DropDown List issue in saving user entered custom value to dropdown : WDJ

Hi Experts,
I have a dropdown list that is say prepopulated with 2 values, by clicking "allow custom entry" I can enable the user to type in a value if he doesnt want to choose from existing options.
I am trying to add the user entered value to the dropdown list by using the "addItem()" script appropriately.
Issue is that though the new value is getting saved, once the users saves and closes the form, opens again and adds a new user entered value then this new value overwrites the previously entered custom value.
I see that the user entered value doesnt get bound to the dropdown.
I have bound this dropdown field to an appropriate web dynpro java context attribute.
Please provide any solutions if known!

In my page i have three fields
Empname (String)
Empnumber (Number)
DOB (Date)
These fields are mapped to VO which are mapped to EO.
When user enters string in Empnumber field then it will throw user following Error "Cannot create an object of type:oracle.jbo.domain.Number with value hghfg"
I want to display above Error in user friendly fashion.
Where to do this and How to do this?
And i have one more question
can we handle all the exceptions in seter method of EOIMPL?

I have 4 dynamic pages, a user enters in variables on first page. At the next 3 dynamic pages I send the user to I have to display the items they entered on the first page in text items.

ok, so on my page 1 I have the parameter "name", if I use <ORACLE> tags on this first dynamic page they are executed upon entering the form. The user has to enter the data and if the <ORACLE> tags have already executed where do I store the value ?
So where do I issue the wwsto_api_session.load_session (in the second dynamic page or the first one) ?
I can see that I'll use the wwsto_api_session.get_attribute_as_varchar2 ('name') in the second dynamic page with the htp.p - is that right ?
You wouln't have an example you could share with us all do you ? Sure seems like this is confusing to a lot of people. Are there any useful examples of this in the PDK that show how to do this with the HTML included ?

Want only the user entered values on the xml generated by clicking the button

Here goes the details of the problem.
1. I have created two textfields(texttfield3 and textfield4) along with an email button in a fragment and binded to an XSD file.textfield3 and textfield4 are user entered fields.
2. On the design page I have created two more fields texfield1 and textfield2 and binded to another XSD.These two fields are read only fields.
3. On preview PDF screen whenever you click on the email button,you get a mail option with an xml file attached to it.
4. whenever you open the xml file,you will get the values of all the four fields.Its given below

5.But I want only user entered fields to be displayed on the xml page i.e
