User Free Busy Corrupted

We are running Exchange 2007 SP3 RU15 and IE11 -17501
We have a user that when viewing / making an appointment using OWA the attendees' free/busy information appears on top of hers.
For example the user creates a meeting and her free busy is listed next to her name.
She then invites an attendee and their name appears below hers BUT their free busy appears on top of (her) the organizer's Free/Busy.  It does this for all attendees. It does this from different workstations.
Outlook 2010 works as expected but this is not necessarily an option for her.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Please try the following methods to check this issue.
Disable this User's Mailbox and then Reconnect/Enable it.
Move this user’s mailbox to other mailbox database.

  • Free/busy information in 2007/2013 coexisitance

I'm in the process of migrating from a single server 2007 exchange environment to a multi server 2013 environment. I'm at the point where I want to move a small group of users to the 2013 serves to do some testing. The only issue holding that back
is anyone on the 2007 server cannot view free/busy information of a user on the 2013 servers. This does work when a 2013 tries to lookup a 2007 users free/busy information.
Anyone have any idea why that would be?

    Hi,
Please check your Exchange 2007 Web service in CAS configurations. We need to set it with legacy.contoso.com. Just like:
Set-WebServicesVirtualDirectory –Identity “Exch07\EWS (Default Web Site)” -InternalUrl https://legacy.contoso.com/ews/exchange.asmx –ExternalUrl
    https://legacy.contoso.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx

  • Free/Busy Error from Exchange Online Cloud Mailbox to on-premise

Hi, have a successful federation configured between Exchange 2010 SP3 (latest Roll up) and Office 365. This is to allow free/busy lookups during various migration stages (this is not Exchange Hybrid). Autodiscover works well and all functions work ok.
On-premise users can see cloud users free/busy
Cloud users cannot see on-premise users free/busy.
All local based free/busy works on-premise and in the cloud.
The Exchange Connectivity tool returns the below error from all accounts, this is the only error:
(A wildcard certificate is in use and am wondering if this could be contributing to the problem as I have seen this once before)
Attempting to send an Autodiscover POST request to potential Autodiscover URLs.
Autodiscover settings weren't obtained when the Autodiscover POST request was sent.

Any help or guidance would be appreciated as this is the only error we receive now and everything else works.
    Kind Regards, Antonio.

Yep, indeed it does, except the password works when carrying out an autodiscover test, when testing free/busy that error appears. Lookups for free/busy work from on-premise to cloud, cloud to on-premise does not work unless you explicitly allow permissions
on a user basis. The on-premise Exchange 2010 SP3 environment is using an external wildcard cert and thought this could be causing the issue, may consider updating to SAN based. What do you think?

  • Calendar Permissions for Free/Busy

As an Exchange Admin with Exchage 2010 and Outlook 2010, can I override users Free/Busy permissions that are set to just see an appointment , so I see all details. My director would like this option for all users when he makes a meeting.

    Hi,
Do you mean you want users can only view other users’ calendar free/busy information instead of all details? If I misunderstand, please point it out.
We need to make sure the Default calendar permission level is set to Free/Busy time in every user’s calendar. Please check it. Generally, this is the default configuration in server side by enabling a Default Sharing Policy which is set to
Calendar sharing with free/busy information only.

  • No Free/Busy Information for Exchange 2010 users in Outlook 2010 client, 2010 OWA shows this information fine

I have looked for hours and hours on Google and this web site for this type of issue and nothing seems to help.
    Problem:
On my new Windows 2008 R2 /Exchange 2010 server with IIS7 installed, I can use Outlook 2010 client to login and send and receive e-mail but when I try to busy search internal Exchange users I get no information (cross-hatch), but the sender of the Meeting Request
can see their own free/busy information fine.  And OWA users can see free/busy information fine, as can Outlook 2003 client users against this Exchange 2010 server when logged in.
I don't know if I have a certificate problem with regard to IIS7 or Exchange 2010, I did not create my own certificate , it is just what was installed by default when I installed and configured Win2K8 server, IIS7 and Exchange.
On the Windows 7 workstations with Outlook 2010 client, I am not logging into the Exchange 2010 server DNS domain, if that makes any difference.  On these workstations I can ping "autodiscover.my.exchange.server.com" and my.exchange.server.com
with no problem.  I even used this Microsoft KB to install a new _autodiscover dns entry, but it did not help :
When I turn on logging on my Outlook 2010 client, I see this in my C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Temp\1\outlook logging\20131208-135658864-fb.log :

    Hi,
How many users encounter this issue, all users with Outlook 2010 or some specific users?
According to your post, the Error code 600 indicates that your Autodiscover service is working well. as for the certificate mismatch issue, we can also following the KB below to resolve it:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940726/en-us
The Free/Busy information in Exchange 2010 is using the Availability service to
    retrieve it. Please directly access
https://mail.mydomain.ae/EWS/Exchange.asmx in IE and see whether a proper XML file is returned.
     Or we can go to
https://testexchangeconnectivity.com and check MS Exchange Web Services Connectivity Tests.

  • Outlook 2003 Free/Busy only shows 2 months for users on Exchange 2010

    Hi,
We are moving to Exchange 2010 from Exchange 2003 and have noticed that users who have been created on or migrated to Exchange 2010 who also use Outlook 2003 can only see 2 months worth of free busy information.
After doing some testing this is only an issue if the user who is looking at the free busy is located on Exchange 2010 and they are using Outlook 2003.  It doesn't matter if the mailboxes they are looking at are on Exchange 2003 or Exchange 2010.
If the user uses Outlook 2007 they see free/busy past 2 months.
We configure Outlook to publish 12 months of free/busy.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards
    Matt

    Hi Matt,
According to your description, the issue only happens in Outlook 2003 but not in other Outlook versions. Please check whether there is the Auto Accept Agent installed in your Exchange server. This issue occurs when you register the Auto Accept Agent to process
meeting requests for the affected mailbox.
Here is a KB related to this issue. Please follow it to configure the period for which you want to publish Free/Busy information in a registry entry on the Microsoft Exchange Server on which you have installed the Auto Accept Agent:
The published Free/Busy information for a mailbox is displayed for the default period of two months after you have configured a longer period in Outlook
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917687
The free/busy publish range reverts back to the default setting when you direct book a resource in Outlook 2003
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/905817
Additionally, I recommend you upgrade your Outlook 2003 clients to Outlook 2010/2013 for better working. Because Microsoft ended support for Office 2003 on April 8, 2014.

  • Outlook 2010 User can't access free/busy info for one resource mailbox calendar

There are a couple posts that are similar, but I haven't been able to solve this one yet.
We just recently moved our conference room calendars from public folders to proper resource mailboxes. Aside from users not RTFM on how to use them the move has been fairly painless. Until now. I have one user that can't see the free/busy info on one of
the room calendars. Just one. We are using Exchange 2010 and he is on Outlook 2010. When he tries to view a meeting in the calendar he gets an error, "Cannot open this Item. Cannot open the free/busy information."
He has no problem opening meetings for that room on OWA, so it leads me to believe it involves some temp files or cached info on his machine.
I tried using /CleanFreeBusy on his computer and it did not remedy the situation. I removed his profile and added it again which appeared to work, but five minutes later when I got back to my desk he could no longer open the meetings.
Any insight would be much appreciated. I admit I am an amateur when it comes to Exchange admin.

Remove and recreate the Outlook profile from their machine? I did this and it worked for a few minutes.
By resetting his profile do you mean removing his profile from the machine and recreating it after backing up all his user data?

    Hi All,

    OK.
    Please follow this step.
    1. As you said you are in coexistence step , so for now all endpoint already point to Exchange 2010 right?
    2. Check legacy owa redirect that you already configure
    3. In Exchange 2010 , Make sure that you already configure "Autodiscoverinternaluri" by this command set-clientaccessserver -identity "servername" -autodiscoverinternaluri
https://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml. and don't forget to create autodiscover record in DNS
    4. in Exchange 2010 , Make sure that you already configure "EWS" path by this command set-webservicesvertualdirectory -identity "XXX\Default web site name" -internalurl
    https://yourinternalurl/EWS/Exchange.asmx -externalurl https://yourexternalurl/EWS/Exchange.asmx
    5. don't forget to replicate freebusy from Exchange 2003 to Excahnge 2010 via public folder.
You error look like client cannot get autodiscover process please check it again.

  • Free/busy information error for users whose primary SMTP is internal domain

We have a scenario where we have some users on our network who use s web-based mail service but have AD logins as they need access to internal resources (file and print).
We have been asked to set up access for these users to the meeting rooms. An initial idea was to create a mailbox for each of these people and set up them up with an email address in the internal domain (company.local.co.xx). This has allowed them to use
the meeting rooms but they cannot retrieve the free/busy information. When looking at available times, get the standard message "Suggestions cannot be provided because free/busy data could not be retrieved"
It's not really clear why this isn't working. Suggestions?

Thanks for the response. Those were my initial thoughts too.
However, doing a test of the email configuration shows that it successfully finds the OOF, OAB, etc.
    Hi,
Since the OOF and OAB Urls can be retrieved properly from Autodiscover service, please directly access the OOF url from IE and see whether a proper XML file is returned.

    Hi,
Please make sure that Exchange Autodiscover is set up correctly for all organizations that use an organization relationship. If Autodiscover isn't working correctly, there's no supported way for you to use organization relationships.
Make sure that Autodiscover URLS can be resolved internally and externally for the organization with which you want to share free/busy information.
Make sure that the organization with which you are sharing free/busy information has its external EWS endpoint set up.
Refer to this link for more information.
    https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2838688?wa=wsignin1.0
In addition, if the users are in different organizations, please configure Organization relationships for them to share Free/Busy information.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj657445(v=exchg.150).aspx
By the way, if the database are on different forest, please try to
configure the Availability service for cross-forest topologies.

  • User can't see any free/busy - on one PC only.

    Hello,
I have one single user who cannot see the free/buy info of any other user from his normal desktop PC using Outlook 2010.
If he uses Outlook Web App on the PC, it works perfectly.
And if he uses Outlook 2010 on another PC (on a different network sub-net), it works perfectly.
What network dependencies does the free/busy info have please?
    Exchange 2010 with Outlook 2010.

    Hi,
As we know Availability service is responsible to fetch the free/busy details in outlook 2010 where Exchange 2010 is installed.
I suggest to enable Logging of Availability Service, then post the result of log file so that we could dig this issue further:-
How to Enable Logging of Availability Service:-
    Start Outlook.
    On the
    File tab, click Options.
    In the
Outlook Options dialog box, click Advanced.
    In the
Other section, click to select the Enable troubleshooting logging (requires restarting Outlook) check box, and then click
    OK.
    Restart Outlook
When Outlook uses the Availability Service to retrieve free/busy information [Try to fetch free/busy for other users to simulate the issue],
log files are generated in the following folders:
    %temp%\OLKAS
The file name of the log files uses the following format:
    yyyymmdd-hhmmssss-AS.log
For example, a log file that is generated on March 30, 2010 at 2:14:20.0029 P.M. will be named:
    20100330-1411200029-AS.log
    Post result of this log.

  • Calendar Free/Busy permissions being ignored for users migrated from Exchange 2003, fine for new users created on Exchange 2010

I have uncovered a situation where it seems the free/busy permissions are being ignored for users that were migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010.
I have the default permissions set to only show Free/Busy Time, not Details.  However if I look at the calendar for a users who was migrated from the old Exchange 2003 server, I can see details.  If I look
at a newer user who was added directly to the Exchange 2010 server, I (correctly) only see the times and "Free" or "Busy", not the specific details.
I verified the permissions on the migrated mailboxes many different ways (Exfolders, cmdlets, etc) and all signs point to only allow showing Free/Busy Times, but alas, I can still see the Details as well.
My users are using Outlook 2010.

    Hi,
Does this issue occur on Outlook only or both Outlook and OWA?
Since you have double checked the permissions via multiple methods, it seems there is nothing problem on permission. Please make sure the migration from Exchange 2003 server completed successfully.
If in OWA everything goes well (cannot see details), it should be an issue on the Outlook client side.
I suggest run Outlook under safe mode to avoid some AVs and add-ins.
I suggest re-create profile to refresh the caches.
    Thanks

  • Windows user - outlook - no free/busy info

    Howdy,
So working with SL server. Thus far very happy with it, but running into one issue. I've got a windows user, that is using his iCal (calDave) calendar thru outlook. He is unable to see free/busy information, whereas my mac users can see it. Is this a configuration issue, or just a 'you can't get there from here' issue.
I can provide more information if it is needed.
    ST

I did configure the outlook user to use the iCal service.
What I did was, login to the web server, login as the user (all of this done from end users windows machine), go to their calendar, hover over the calendar name in the upper left side of the page, and an italic 'i' will appear, click on that, and an info box for that ical account will appear. click on 'subscribe to ical' It should then give you the option of what app to open this in/for. Choose outlook. It should then give you a window of subscribe to calendar url. Now i'm not in front of a windows box right now, so am working from memory. I believe in outlook you subscribe to web calendar, and paste in the url, it should look something like this webcal://serverhostname.domainname.com:8008/calendars/_uids_/144BB4E3-35CB-4F1E-BEB9-2B20E4B6B139/calendar.
Now this should allow them to retrieve calendaring information to outlook. If you want them to push their free busy schedule back, I believe you select the account, and right click and select 'publish', that will push their availble schedule to the server.
Now this is all somewhat dependent on you having mail internal, you will have to jump thru some hoops for invite replies if you have externally support mail.
I may not have these steps in all the right order, and may have been inaccurate in my instructions, so if I am, query back and I'll try to step thru it when on a windoze host.

  • Report using Script to determine users using anything other than Free/Busy Only Permission

Is it possible to create a script that can query all mailboxes in an exchange environment, and return any mailboxes that has anything other than "Free/Busy"?   This would be in Exchange 2007.  Not sure why it put me in 2013.
-It's not enought to just be right.
