Yes another user with problem with Apple Mobile Device Support, I am getting the error message: Service 'Apple Mobile Device'(Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Vertify that you have sufficient privileges to start system service....I hit retry and it came up again. I hit ignore and it prompted me to hit finish so Itunes can open.   I looked thru alot of these posts on here to try and resolve this problem myself but it's not working too well...I downloaded Itunes to my desktop so I can right click it with the program i downloaded called WinRAR. I extracted it and then went into the folder called Itunes64setup. I saw the file called AppleMobileDeviceSupport64 in there so I began to try and download it on it's own. Well that didn't work as I planned and got this error message:
Apple Mobile Device Support wasn't installed on your computer. The installer encountered errors before Apple Mobile Device Support could be configured. Your system has not been modified. To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again.
Well I tried to run it again and came up with the same message...I see that some people got great support to help them so I am hoping someone can help me as well. I know "b nor" is very qualfied and hopefully can help me! Please advise what I can do. Thank you

  • ISight - connects with windows users no problem?

I'd like to buy this webcam, but I heard it has problems connecting with windows users. Will I be able to talk to people on it through AIM? Thats what I'd like, if not, I probably wont get it. Anyone have any personal experience or have any answers or helpful tips - I'd appreciate anything - thanks.

It is not the iSight itself that gives you the impression that connecting with Micros~1 Windows users causes problems ... it is the availability of (cross platform) applications that makes connecting a bit more cumbersome.
I have PowerMac G5 with iSight and I connect with my Micros~1 Windows platform family equiped with and without USB webcam.
The challenge will be to find messaging / VoiP applications with bearable audio quality and reasonable video performance.
I started with Skype for Voice and Yahoo! messenger for bad video ( 1-2 fps and video size 320 x 240).
Skype has a video plugin (only for Windows)
Yahoo! Messenger does not have voice yet (2.5.3)
MSN is badmouthing because of the "M"
I have used iChat with another Apple believer ... and the quality of Voice and Video is unparralled.
The best two alternatives I found are:
    a) AIM 5.9
    b) Trillian (www.trillian.cc)
Both use a free AIM screen name.
AIM works fine, see also EZJim pages.
TrillianPro 3.1 reuses AIM screen names ... and ... it has both good audio and zoom-to-full-screen-video size with fps rates filling your bandwidth.
The only negative on Trillian so far, the "handshake" for connecting two people takes some time.
TrillianBase is free but has no Video capabilities. The Pro version is 25$.
    Regards Coen
ps. if you want to test your setup use my AIM screenname: coenjeukens

It is a feature to discourage the theft of iPhones by making them useless if resold. It's not going anywhere. It's simple: just don't buy a phone until you make sure that the activation lock has been disabled.

Mine's a late '09, but there have been display issues with iMacs.
Contact Apple Service, iMac Service or Apple's Express Lane. Do note that if you have AppleCare's protection plan and you're within 50 miles (80 KM) of an Apple repair station, you're eligible for onsite repair since yours is a desktop machine.

Judging by the title bar of the window, it looks like the application is

  • Revoke order AD User Exchange problem

    Hello,
    Scenario:
USER1 has provisioned the following resources:
    AD User
    Exchange
When I try to delete the USER1 on OIM, the OIM revokes all the resources provisioned for that user.
    Problem:
OIM is revoking the AD User resource first.
When it tries to revoke the Exchange, the task Delete Mailbox fails because the AD User related to the Mailbox has already been deleted from Active Directory.
    Question:
Should I try to enforce the order in which the resources are revoked?
The Exchange should always be revoked before the AD User?
Will the 'Depends On' configuration on Resource Object do the trick for a revoke scenario?
    Thanks for any hint
    OIM= 9.1.0.2
    AD=2003
    Exchange=2007

It's hard to manage order of operations on revoke. I would suggest you create a task that is triggered on the revoke, and is marked as preceding to the main revoke. For this task, create a check that looks for the dependent object instance and check if the status is revoked. You can set the retry configurations for this task so that once completed, your regular revoke will continue.

  • Chrome (Windows NT 6.1 6.2) users reporting problems with loading and mouseevents - any insights?

For several years now, I have created simple studies (I do psychological stuff) to run online, recruiting participants through Amazon Mechanical Turk (AMT). I have had no problems until recently (last 6 to 9 months). Now, some AMT users are reporting problems with stimuli loading or buttons not responding immediately when clicked (e.g., advancing to a new screen). What is common amongst all the users experiencing problems is that they use Chrome, and they also tend to be Windows NT 6.1 or 6.2 users running Flash Player 12.0. But not a single Firefox, Safari, or MSE user has ever reported an issue. I'm just looking for help in troubleshooting this problem. Again, the studies I run are incredibly simple (e.g., no videos being loaded from server, etc.), mostly word presentation where I record time and x,y coordinates of mouse movements as they respond to questions. Would attempting to publish for another target version of Flash Player help? The default setting is to publish the .swf and .html wrapper for Flash Player version 11.7. Any ideas? I also use version 13.0.1 of Flash Professional CC to create my studies if it helps.

This is helpful. Thanks. So it would be to my advantage to play around with something like SWFObject 2?
    http://www.adobe.com/mena_fr/devnet/flashplayer/articles/swfobject.html
Or is there something else you would recommend?
What I've been doing is a far cry from actual web development, but quite interested in learning more. This swfobject seems to get at what you are suggesting (I think).

  • BSP user verification problem.

    hi,all
We are facing a bsp user verification problem:
We put the bsp page into a web dynpro iframe, and it is showing well. But after several tests using several users,Some problems are shown: when we use "USERA" to logon Portal, when we turn to the bsp page,it is shown like using "USERB".
I do think SSO has no problem. We are using BW Portal.
Something should be edited about the bsp application?
    Best Regards,
    delma

    Hi Delma,
I guess a default user is defined for this BSP application.
Please check it for BSP Application node in SICF.

What is the idacli tar file for?
With iDA 1.2p2 you will see a file called idacli-1.0-withJRE-us.sparc-sun-solaris2.6.tar which is for the 6.0 customers who never had a imadmin binary. It is not intended as an upgrade for 5.2 customers. So they should not try to install it at all.
    What it is not?
It is not a version which will work with Web Server 6.1.
It is tested and supported with Web Server 6.0x (6.0.1, 6.0sp5)
It is not a version which should be used without Direct LDAP setup in the Messaging Server. (2 negatives, ok, I mean they really should be using Direct LDAP)
It will not work with Identity Server or schema 2.
It is not part of Messaging 6.0 (although we tested it for EXISTING customers who are going from Messaging 5.2 to 6.0 and using schema 1, we telll customers they can use the iDA they got from 5.2, and this is the one we mean.)
Regarding the install, you should use the release notes of the iDA1.2p1
I'm however, not sure it would solve your problem. I have not found any reference to the described issue which matchess it completely.
And if the upgrade would solve it it's probably because something is rewritten, not fixed ... but you do not know what caused it. I don't like this myself.
I suggest you better open a support case so it is determined what the real problem is.
    Cheers, Ben.

  • SharePoint Designer workflow gives Claims Authentication error for some users. Problem getting output claims identity. The specified user or domain group was not found.

We have a SharePoint Enterprise 2013 system at RTM level.  We've installed Workflow Manager 1.0 by following the steps at

What could cause the Claims Authentication to fail when certain users attempt to launch the workflow?
    Thank you for your response.
    Jim Mac.

    Hi Aries,
I am facing issue with work flow where Workflow goes to Suspend mode.
I am facing an issue with SP2013 Custom Workflow developed using Visual Studio 2012.
Objective of the Custom workflow: User fills the form and submit, list get updated and workflow will initiate and go for the process.
Issue: After the deployment of WF, for first time when user is filling the form and submit, list is getting updated. But the Workflow Goes to "Suspend" mode. (
This Custom Workflow has a configuration file where we are providing other details including ID of Impersonator (farm is running under Claim Based Authentication).
Work flow works fine once when the Impersonator initiate the workflow (Fill the form and submit for approval) and everything works fine after that.
    Following steps are already performed
1.Make sure User profile synchronization is started.
2.Make sure the user is not the SharePoint system user.
3.Make sure the user by whom you are logged is available in User Profile list.
4.Step full synchronization of User Profile Application.
From the ULS logs it seems the user's security token from the STS service and User profile service is not being issued.
    Appreciate any thoughts or solution.
    Following are the log files.

  • Please help! Bizarre login/user account problem

In 24 years of using Macs, this is the most frustrating thing I've ever faced and I am in desperate need of help.
For the entire story of my circumstances, see below. The short version of my problem: My auto-login user account is corrupt but I can't figure out how to bypass/interrupt it so I can log in to a different user account. Is there a way to use Single User Mode to do this - to get to the regular login screen where I can enter a different user name and password???
I follwed the steps outlined by Michael in this thread, but it did not work
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1124380
Any expedient help is greatly appreciated, I'm in dire straights...my Mac has been down for a week with this problem and my work is suffering.
    Thanks in advance,
    -Nelson
Here's the long version of how I arrived at these circumstances:
I have a single (admin level) user account on my new Mac Pro, with auto-login enabled. The home folder is on a separate internal drive (bay 2) from the OS/applications (bay 1). Out of nowhere, I got the error "You are unable to log in to the user account. Login failed because an error occurred." I was not able to login to my machine. When I tried to boot from my bootable clone backup, got the same error. Tried to boot from the Leopard install DVD, got the 5-language kernel panic screen. Off to the Apple Store.
It didn't occur to me at this time to mention my Home folder being on a 2nd drive, that was my mistake #1. They ended up replacing the logic board and RAM riser cards, neither of which was remotely related to the problem. In the process, they were able to create a new admin-level 'test' user account, and got the machine up and running again. At this point they noticed that there was no other user/Home folder present on the startup drive and at this point I told them that it was located on drive 2. That drive was not appearing in the finder, so apparently it had croaked - and knowing this pretty much explained the original problem, to me at least.
I get home, log in as Test, delete my old user account, create a new user account and put the Home folder for this new account on drive 3. My stupid mistake #2: I used the same name for the new account as my old account, and mistake #3, turned auto-login to this account back on.
But at this point, everything was still working, and I commenced to try to recover my lost Home folder from my Time Machine backup and figure out how to restore all of my system settings, which were wiped out with the creation of the new Test user account. I'll skip over some of the other problems I ran into with Time Machine at this point and get to the real issue: after a couple of successful restarts and logins to my newly created user account (the one with the same name as my old account but with it's Home folder in a different location), the ORIGINAL "You are unable to log in to the user account. Login failed because an error occurred." error has returned.
Now I'm back where I started, and can't figure out how to log in to the Test account that resides on my startup drive, because auto-login is enabled for the 'broken' user account - even though the Home folder for this account is located on a working drive.
I've done tons of searching and can't figure out how to use Single User Mode to login to Test. When I try the login command, it says 'login incorrect', even though I am using the correct user and password. Help!!

well, something is really messed up with those accounts so I would create a new admin account, log into that and go from there.
To do that [enable the root user|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1278], safe boot, log in as root and create a new admin account, also while you are at it disable the auto login.
You can also work from the root account but I would recommend against it. It's not really safe.

  • User permission problem, OSX 10.6 & 10.3.9

We have a small network with an old G3 server (non-Intel even) running 10.3.9.  We had 3 Mac minis with 10.3.9, but just upgraded to new minis with 10.6.3.  The files saved to the server now get their permissions messed up.  They get saved to the server with Read-only. Or the system tells me that the "disk is full or may be read-only, you can't save this file".  This may be due to the fact that the server was set up with a user called "share".  There is also a group called "share" on the server.  They both have the same User ID no., 502.  We all sign on to the server as "share".  When a new file is saved, and you go to the server and look at File/Info, it shows the User share having Read/Write but the Group share having Read-Only.  Sometimes they show up as user "nobody".  I've read that the permission systems are different on the two operating systems. My question is, can I simply delete the group, "share" on the server, and fix the problem?  I don't have experience using Terminal, except I saw the ID command in a post and tried it.

    Hey
Sorry should of put that above, I tried logging the user in to a bind machine which I tested with another account and it worked fine, also tried for file share and still nothing login screen just bounces every time but worked with another account, groups for the account where identical
    Hope that helps
    Thanks
    Joe

  • Two users, one problem

I bought a Powermac G5 used (barely used for a year) and when I brought it home, I thought I was changing the account name, etc., to my own, but instead I ended up adding myself as a second admin account. I didn't think anything was really wrong until I realized that I could use every single program on the computer under my own account EXCEPT for Final Cut Pro. It shows up as an application under my account, but when I try to use it, it loads up all the way to the end, but then instead of opening, it quits. When I switch over to the other account, it opens no problem. So I thought I could fix the problem by deleting the other account (I saved the file in the Deleted Users File just in case), but that didn't work. Everything works fine on the computer except I still can't open FCP. I don't have the original OS X Tiger disks so I can't reload that way. If I buy used Tiger disks or Leopard, could that fix the problem? Can anybody help me with this? Thanks in advance!

    This sounds kinda scary.
It's only diagnostic. It looks scary because I put it all on the command line so it could be cut-and-pasted. Basically what I would WANT to do is just change ownership of FCP to your new user (using the Terminal chown command), and make sure said user can access all the files in FCP (using chmod). But that is pointless if your current user can already access all the files, and will likely break things further if some of the files deliberately have special ownerships (such as root) and/or the setuid or setgid bits set. So the scary line checks if any of that is the case. If you would prefer it as a script, I can probably convert it and give you a download link. (BTW, the "one-line" just means "don't put any carriage returns in the middle" not "make the Terminal window really really wide" )
do you know if it's possible to reinstate a deleted users file?
I would like to say yes, but it is better that you search the discussions. What worries me is that if it is a permissions problem, then you need to restore the deleted user with the original uid. I'm not sure that Mac OS would do that automagically. Otherwise, I would claim that you could just create a new user with the same name (and especially the same short name) as the deleted one, and then while logged in as the new user that you want to be the deleted user, REPLACE the new user's home directory (/Users/name) with the folder you put in Deleted Users. Easy for me to say, having never tried it.
Finally, only after making my last (scary) post did it occurred to me that if FCP is crashing, then it might be making an entry in the Crash Logs. So it might be worthwhile to open up the Console (I think it is in /Applications/Utilities) and look for an appropriate entry in the list on the left-hand side (if I were at my Mac right now I would be more specific so if this is confusing, just ask.) If you see an entry for FCP in the crash logs, post it. Debugging using the crash log is surely a much better bet than trying to diagnose the problem via file permissions. Unfortunately, I can't promise I will be able to parse the crash log, but hopefully someone will...

  • 1 computer, 3 Mac OS user accounts, iTunes account for each Mac OS user, authorization problems

We have 4 computers for 3 people in our household: 1 iMac (recently purchased), 1 MacBook Pro, and 2 MacBooks. We were previously running off of just the MacBooks (1 for each person), but we decided to buy the iMac and use it as a hub for all of our pictures, music, movies, etc. We were sold on this idea after learning about the "Automatic Downloads" feature, where all content would 'just sync'. We each have a separate Mac OS user account on the iMac, with our own separate content libraries. We each have a separate iTunes/AppStore account. It seems like a good idea until...
When I tried to turn on Automatic Downloads in iTunes on my iMac, I got this message: "You can auto-download purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this computer with a different Apple ID for 87 days". I tried to turn on Automatic Downloads on my MacBook Pro, when I got this message: "You can auto-download purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this computer with a different Apple ID for 90 days". I did not necessarily want to download the apps/music/books to this computer anyways, as the reason we bought the iMac was to serve as a hub for all of this content, but it was still frustrating to see that message.
I have tried everything suggested on the authorization troubleshooting pages and forums (e.g., authorizing, de-authorizing and de-athourizing all, and reauthorizing), but I have not had any success. I have contacted Apple several times, but I get tips on how to ensure that I have the most up-to-date version of iTunes on my computer, or how to manually download pre-purchased content. I will not begin to explain how frustrating these low-level responses are when the issue is much larger.
I have a few theories of why this is happening, one of which is that we will only be able to authorize one of the users iTunes accounts to this iMac (despite the fact that we are using separate Mac OS user accounts). This may be the case if iTunes authorization identifies or registers the computer based on its serial number (or some other unique identifier), rather than the Mac OS user account. If that is the case, then I suspect that purchasing this iMac as an automatic download hub for 3 separate Mac OS users was pointless, and I will gleefully warn anyone away from trying to do that.
So my question(s) read(s): How does iTunes account authorization identify/register with the computer? Is it authorized to the computer serial number, or could it be authorized to a Mac OS user account?
However, if my above theory is true, then my question is: Do I have any other options?
    Thanks!

I just had this problem because I logged into a friend's account on the computer I'm on now, and used the Previous Purchases feature. Well, that in turn deactived my use of the iCloud and iTunes Match on this computer when I signed back into my personal iTunes account. iTunes Support was no help, they just gave me a scripted response I would find online myself. Tried many different things, but what actually worked, was changing the Computer Name on this computer, and rebooting. Now, iTunes recoginzes this computer as a new device, yet, still is one of the 2 authorized computers on my iTunes account. Try changing the Computer Name on your troubled machine, then try associating it once again, see how that works out for you.
