User inconsistencies when re-assigning users to another org. unit

Hi
I am getting error messages whenever i re-assign a user to another org. unit. I use drag and drop. When I check the user with users_gen I get 3 different error messages. I try the repair but the repair does not work. Has anyone else experienced this problem. Does anyone know any notes that can be used to fix this?
We are on extended classic, SRM 5.0

Please check for non-inherited values.  We maintain values at the org unit level, so that when we drag/drop a user to another org unit, most to all of the values are re-inherited. You can which ones are by the inherited flag.
See if that is your problem.

    I have created that org unit but not sure how to reassign it to a new org unit.

    In that link it has been mentioned that users can be unassigned from a org unit through USERS_GEN txn or drag and drop.
    I already unassigned a user by clicking on delete assignment in PPOSA_BBP. While I am trying to reassign the user through USERS_GEN to new org unit, I am getting the error: Central Person for this user already exists with E BBPU_MESSAGES 042 &.
    After going through some of the threads I realized that I should not do like that for deleting a assignment.
    Also I found one thread which is telling that ....new org unit has to be selected and then by clicking on the Assign button --> Incorporates..Postion.. a user can be reassigned.
    Is it a right way to do that.... I don know how to unassign using USERS_GEN txn.
    Also it would be great if you could help me to resolve the above error.
    Please guide me.

  • Shift Org unit to another Org unit

    Hi Experts,
    I am trying to move one orgnaizational unit to another Org unit. The case is given below:
    Orgniazational Unit : "Stb Std" > under source : "INJ"  org unit. and also I want to make it with effect from 01/07/2011.
    Cost Center is not inherited of "INJ" org unit.
    Emp with position is already assigned under "Stb Std" unit.
    I want to delimit the unit on said date in destination Org unit "CQA".
    When i am delimiting the "Stb std" unit on 01/07/2011, it is not maintianing any previous record history.
    I am expecting below mentioned records after moving unit to destination:
    Org unit : "STB STD"  under source unit :"INJ" , Start Date :01/01/01999 , End date : 30/06/2011
    Org unit : "STB STD " under destination unit : "CQA" , Start Date : 01/07/2011, End date : 31/12/9999
    I want to keep relationship of positions and cost center as it is.
    Kindly help me to resolve it.

    Thanks for ur reply, But I want to know that Is there any history maintained in SAP when i moved 1 unit to another place?
    I want to maintain the history also. where i can see that history? I have checked in Relationship infotype but i didn't get it.
    I have tried to delimit it but the object is no longer due to delimit.

  • Moving Employee Org Unit to Another Org Unit

    Hello,
    +What is the best way and steps to properly move an employee from one Org Unit to Another Org Unit without messing up prior configuration. I need to move this employee from Manager (Org Unit A) to another Manager (Org Unit B).  Would editing the Org Unit number or changing the Org Unit number work. I have a exact new validity date as well.+

    Thanks for your indepth reply. I guess there is some steps involved based on your ans.
    Per your answer: in PA, you create the Action for reassignment and take into consideration the possible changes to Quotas, Benefits, etc... is there anyway to keep prior info/configured data and bypass these steps - copy/paste/dragg feature to the new org structure- so data stays the same and no other possible changes occur.  I understand that position is linked to Org Unit. I can copy the position to the new Org/and then assign the position to the new Org Unit. Does the record automatically get delimited(prior record). Are there any additional steps to verify the data validity and that this employee got reassigned properly.
    Also how would I test the change before transf. it to production.

    PP01> select the Object type (Org Unit)> enter the Org Unit No
    Select the Cost Distribution Infotype--> Create & enter the Cost Center

  • Assigning a position to Org Unit in mass upload

    Hi,
    I am creating Org units using PPOM transaction where i can create Many org units at a time. NOw i need to assign positions to these org units? is there any way to mass upload positions and assign to these Org units?
    I have arrount 1020 Org Units to create. I created all through PPOM at a time. But to assign positions, i have to navigate to each Org unit to assign a position. Is there an easy way for this? I mean Create an Org unit and create a position at t the same time.
    PS: This is for mass creation.

    I have a task of changing the employees, Positions & Jobs, from one Organization Unit to another Org unit, in the OM. I have around 50 position & Jobs and employees to be moved. Please suggest me how do I go about.

    First of all I recommend to open a new discussion and not to post in a old-date one.
    Anyway, You can do it either PA40 or OOPME.
    In PA40 you should select an appropriate action like :Org. Change", "Promotion" and so on. In fact it depends what do you have in you action list.
    In PPOME you can do it by drag and drop also. Just take care about effective date. First you should select the right date in top of the screen.

  • Permitting a Manager of one org unit access to another org unit

    I have a problem with the use of relationships between the position and org units.
    If a manager has an A012 relationship to org unit 123, but should be able to view & approve leave for employees from another org unit 456.
    Is it possible to have a different relationship to org unit 456? To provide access to employees who are not part of the managers direct reporting structure.

    1. Create a separate relationship for the special access.
    2. You might need to add the new relationship to evaluation path
    3. If you are using MSS and need to display this, that evaluation path needs to be updated
    4. Structural authorization profile needs to be updated
    5. Role needs to be updated. Context senstive authorization needs to be activated and PA authorization + structure abc, PA authorization + structure xyz needs to be added to the role

    Go to transaction PO13, select the positions, select Relationships, create, enter start date, relationship A 003, related object O, select new organizational unit and save.

    I have to put some validation for the assigned employee and the position under which the employee is beeing assigned.
    Is there any badi or Enhancement spot that can resolve my problem.
    the validation will be done as soon as we select the employee that will be assigned to the position and press the ENTER.
    It is done before SAVE.

    OU - Current or Any OU above inthe Hierarchy
    Position Hierarchy
    IT - Account Assignment for OU or Position
    Or IT-27 directly..
    Ensure Cost center ref is removed from all these sources if you dont want a Cost Center.

    This is not allowed in standard system.
    Each position/org unit should exist only once in the org structure.
    To assign a position to more than one org unit you need to implement a "matrix organization" by using "dotted relationships".

    Hi Gopi,
    You can certainly create a new relationship between the Org.Unit objects (O) and Quelification objects (Q), but this customization will not resolve your request.
    That is because the system only resolve the inheritance of qualifications between functions objects (C) and positions (S), but no between org. units and positions.
    The right steps are assign the quelification to the functions of the positions you have in the organizational unit you want to update.
    If you have no created enough functions or not use it at all, you can make a batch input via transaction PP02 to assign qualifications to positions in a massive process.

    if you want building rules for new users you can user Netweaver Identity Management.
    But I completely agree with Dylan - you really really want to try to have a SINGLE user ID in your systems for a person.
    That's not only helpful for compliance, it's also useful for technical enhancements like Single Sign-On and many other things.
    I usually try to link ActiveDirectory to CUP and retrieve user data, including the UserID from there.
