User interface controls for express vi's

Hi
Is there any way to provide controls on front panel for Express Vi's
Solved!
Go to Solution.

I do not know what you are talking about.  Express VIs don't exactly have a front panel (unless you change them to a standard VI).  Or are you talking about the configuration dialogs?  What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

I have 3840x2160, 24" display and many of the user interface controls are small, hard to read and in some cases are cut off.
I see this issue existed with Photoshop and Adobe introduced a "Introducing scale the UI 200% for high-density displays for Windows" under "Experimental Features"
Photoshop: Introducing scale the UI 200% for high-density displays for Windows
However I don't see this option available in Dreamweaver? Is there another work around?

Wow, 4K resolution within a 24" space. You need a 200% increase in UI size just to work, I would think. Can you post a screenshot of the issue? I would like to see that. ;-)
With the changes the Dw team have made to the UI over the last few releases, and with the latest Workspaces, it almost feels like 720p is the main focus, or like the only Dw users that matter are on small Macbooks, with very limited screen real estate. I can still work on my laptop when I'm out of the office (17" at 1920x1080 on Windows 8.1), but the icons and controls are pretty small. Even with the added screen real estate, and the fact that the UI is still intact, I'd hate to have to use it for extended periods.
    I voted as well.

  • User Interface Template for Interactive Report Region

In 3.2, where do we set the user interface template for Interactive Reports region?
No matter what out of the box theme I switch to, the Interactive Reports region shows the same. What and where do I change the template so that alternating rows use two different colors?

There is no template for Interactive Reports like for a "normal" report. You need to modify the CSS and supply your own for this to happen.

  • Looking for Better User Interface Controls

I'm working on an Labwindows CVI application where a tachometer meter with a
programmable "red-line" affect to define safe running conditions is desired.
The controls available in the Labwindows palate provide a meter control,
however, no capability exists for customizing it. A conversation with NI
Tech support resulted in confirmation that my desire could not be realized.
Is anyone aware of additional user interface libraries (internal to NI or
available comerically) that may help me?
    Thanks in advance,
    Bob

I'm not sure if this helps, or how you would drop it onto a CVI interface,
but I found something in National Instruments ComponentWorks which might
work. I did this in Visual Basic and ComponentWorks, and don't know if there
is a similar object in ComponentWorks++. What I did was open up a form and
add a CWKnob component to it. The CWKnob has several pages of properties
which you can use to customize it at design time, and you shuold be able
to access them and change them programmatically at run time also (like changing
the red line position). Instead of the default view of the CWKnob, I went
to the Style sheet and selected 'Dial', which makes it look like a meter.
Then I went to the Pointer sheet and added another pointer, Pointer-2.
I selected the Fill Style to
be 'Fill to Maximum', and the color red. This
puts a second point on the meter, where everything above the pointer to the
max value is a red band. To hide the pointer and only have the red band,
I set its Style to 'None'. You can set its value (red line) on the property
page, and I expect you can do this programmatically, too, although I didn't
take the time to try it out.
    Hope this helps,
    Dave

  • FAQ: User Interface Guidelines for CRM 2007 are now available

The CRM UI Concept Team has made the UI Guidelines for CRM Web Client User Interface (CRM 2007 UI) available to the BPX community:
This document provides an overview of the on-premise as well as the off-premise versions of the SAP CRM Web Client User Interface (UI). It contains the properties and principles of the SAP CRM Web Client UI that are already committed and available. For planned features, refer to the corresponding specification documents.
The information in the guidelines starts with general topics, followed by details. The sections are organized with high-level topics like Page Types and Navigation Schema first, followed by the consecutive sections describing which building blocks and elements of the UI populate the various pages. A section typically starts with one or more screenshots of a central UI element with a generic explanation. The subsequent sections explain the detailed aspects of each element.
We hope that you will find this information useful.

  • Suitable user interface application for a billing system

I am seeking an appropriate friendly user interface application that is appropriate for a billing system to interact with an oracle 10gr2 database.
    Thanks

I'm not sure I understand the question.
If you have a billing system, presumably the billing system has a user interface. It's not like you could just bolt a new user interface over the existing one without a tremendous amount of effort.
Are you looking to purchase a new billing system with a user-friendly interface? If so, it seems odd to post that here. Presumably, you'd want to create an RFP that vendors of billing systems could respond to.
Are you looking to build a new billing system? If so, there are dozens of languages, frameworks, and APIs that could be used. Without more information, no one could possibly provide any useful recommendations.

  • User Interface : position for previous/next links when browsing spreadsheet

    Hello,
When you have a reasonable number of columns to display the html page width can be quite large. So you have to scroll right to get the previous/next set of records hyperlinks controls because by default they are located at the bottom right corner of the spreadsheet. This is not very user friendly.
Is there a mean to specify a different location for the previous/next set of records hyperlinks controls ?
Thanks in advance for your response. It will considerably enhance my apex experience.

Yes, the "Pagination Display Position" lets you control where the pagination shows up. So you could put it top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right. IMHO there are pros and cons to each position.

  • User Interface mode for windows 8

I was trying to install Driver San Francisco game and had quite a lot of problems.  This installer works with previous Windows. But failed with following error message while installing 'Install Anywhere'.
    Installer UI Mode Error
The installer cannot run in this UI mode. To specify the interface mode, user the -i command-line option, followed by the UI mode identifier. The valid UI modes identifiers are GUI, Console, and Silent.
The supported platform doesn't include 'Windows Server 8'.
    What could be the issue?

Wow that actually worked... I dont do that anymore because it never works but it worked.
    THANKS

  • Why oh why was it fixed when it wasn't broken..the user interface

This is a serious error on Apples part to alter the way this critical program operates
its like taking away critical controls from an automobile...like the steering wheel
Its that bad its at the level like Microsoft would have done.
It may operate with all the same features...but where are they...not on the iTunes desktop
where one could surf iTunes to look at, get, explore
big mistake & an even bigger one not to listen to customers...
    Bruce L. Farrar

    Steve
Sorry I just cant see how you can compare iTunes 10.7 &  iTunes 11 - yuo are in the minority  !!
Everyone I speak to has the same view on this:
That 11 hasnt the same user interface & controlability. For me this is fundamental in the way I used iTunes to "surf" what was available from what I already had.I find the way I have to go through things in a list poor to unusable. OK Apple may want to have the same interface accrooss the whole product platform - but why the capability of a Mac with a omplete keyboard & larger screen allows for more possibilities than say an iPhone which I reackong any user will realise & accept...basically the iTunes on mac platform has been dumbed down & is now far less capable
The search "engine" that hasnt got fields to select to narrow down or focus a search is just riduculous & it doesnt work that well as whats comes back has to be searched through again.
Using iTunes 10.7 & before was an "adventure" into music or material you knew & you found things you didnt know about & to do this was easy & enjoyable. Ifound previosly I could find a single track out there quickly & also explore.
Whats happened is fundamentally bad - lets give a comparison - say if the whole user interface of the MacOS or write was altered, made significantly different...everyday tasks that you could do before had to be re learnt or just couldnt be done.
Even Microsoft are carefull about making changes to the way things work & the way that a user interfaces with this...one carefull step at a time OK Microsoft "things" have to recieve this type of carefull scrutiny & adjustment - but Microsoft onthe whole take thier customers with them. Learning point that Apple have yet to realise & learn from
Previous to this from Lion to Mountain Lion there was Frontrow a simple little program that gave a feature that me for one used (& enjoyed) regularly.....on the Mac doing something important...take a break, relax & enjoy some music...one press of the remote & you had all you music & videos there to be used...like a big iPod...really ver good. Finished relaxing or taking a break get back to work just where you left off, an impressive feature that was taken awy & replaced with NOTHING.
So for me at least the usability & functionallity of the Apple experience has deteriorated...for no appreciable gain....for just a commonality of controls accross the products.
Its called "change for changes sake" & in this case the customers werent consulted they were totally ignored in being left with something that is retrograde.
The very fact that I am here with others making comment is proof postive that the situation is a definate backwards step. I just hope that for Apple its a "blip" i.e. an error that will realised & corrected...
I have been using Apple products from 1989...I am not a Microsoft refugeee or reluctant convert who is throwing mud..just the opposite in my family we have:
    4 Macbook Pros,
    an iMac,
    4 iPods,
    4 iPhones
    Apple TV
all backed up ona time capsule.
We have lived through the bad times & good...I realise that Steve Jobs cant come back...but I am sure he would have listed & then gone back to the teams & forced the change backs through.

  • User Interfaces for Lists

    hi,
How to create user interfaces for lists
    thanks.

    HI,
The R/3 system automatically, generates a graphical user interface (GUI) for your lists that offers the basic functions for list processing, such as saving or printing the list. If you want to include additional functionality, such as pushbuttons, you must define your own interface status. To create a new status, the Development Workbench offers the Menu Painter. With the Menu Painter, you can create menus and application toolbars. And you can assign Function Keys to certain functions. At the beginning of the statement block of AT END-OF-SELECTION, active the status of the basic list using the statement: SET PF-STATUS ‘STATUS’.
    Cheers,
    Chandra Sekhar.

  • Does Firefox respect user account control rules for windows xp sp3, anything to do specifically to enable that ?

    xp sp3
    1.5g R / 2.46g P4
<u>edit information copied from System Info troubleshooting: </u>
    More Information
*1)Does Firefox latest version obey/confirm to the rules for user account control for windows xp sp3 ?
    * 2)Need I do anything specific at the time of installation and/or setting up/configuring preferences ?
*3)Or do I need to install Firefox separately for the limited users or in each users account ?
*4)Would it be possible/desirable/necessary to install it directly into some folder of the user other than the common program files folder ?
*5)In any of these situations, should I or should I not make the installation with 'Run As' admin privilege.
*6)If I install separately for the user/s, with/without admin privileges, will the install write to , or enable user activity to write to, the other common windows folders(where user write is otherwise disallowed).
Please kindly clarify. I am waiting for an answer before I reinstall Firefox and a lot of other apps(these were done earlier before creating the user accounts. Please note that I do not mind installing separately for any/all users. But security will be my preference as much as possible(PARANOIA). I am having to deal with a couple of users who cant understand all this and the folks are too old to understand.
    Thanking you in anticipation

    ------------

A far as I recall from when I did use XP the procedure was to install Firefox using an Admin account, preferably the Administrator account.
By doing that the Firefox installer would create Firefox within the programs directory. And each separate user account could then use Firefox. Importantly each user account has a Firefox profile and so have their own separate and individual bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache etc.
IIRC UAC was not available for XP. Permissions and what you could do would also differ; I seem to remember; depending on whether it was using FAT or NTFS. In some setups a knowledgeable admin account user could probably fully access any other account.

  • TS 4.1 User Interface Forward/Back Buttons

I'd like to the add the Forward/Back Buttons to my User Interface similar to those in the Sequence Editor. I use a modified version of the Full Featured UI on the production floor and often switch to editor mode to work on the sequence. I find it very cumbersome not to be able to jump back and forth between Sequences while doing so.
Were the buttons created using the "Editing Class" proporties and methods to build a stack of recently selected sequences?  Or are the buttons already existing with the methods simply needed to be called?
Any suggestions how to impment this functionality while in edit mode?
    Thanks

"but keep in mind that the UI is not meant for developing. It instead was designed with operators debugging in mind."
I don't agree with that. The UIs are fine for developing if they meets your needs. If not, then you have to weigh using the sequence editor, which is not nearly as customizable, vs the cost of reimplementing whatever you can't do without that the sequence editor already has.
Note that most of the things that are missing from the UIs would take a fair amount of effort to re-implement (type editing, ...). If there were already simple-user-ready-drop-in-components for the missing features, we probably would have already included them in the UIs.
We want the UIs to be functional, but the top priority is that they be simple enough such that they can be readily modified.
Note that in some cases there are apis to support features that aren't in the UIs, but there isn't a complete control that wraps everything. For example, Engine.SearchFiles() is a huge amount of the implementation for find-and-replace, but there currently isn't a user callable dialog for invoking it or a user accessible control for automatically browsing the results, thus we don't currently include that feature in example code for the UIs. I don't know the specifics of forward/back, so I'm not sure how much of the implementation is exposed as public APIs, beyond the goto-location functionality (see Locations.GotoLocation, ...).

  • Learning to writing User Interface

    Dear All,
Me and co-worker (2 and 0 month LV experience) needs to write a User-Interface program for end-user to enter   "CNC-type motion control script".
Basically, the user script will be lines of text
    Each line is    OP-CODE    Parameter0   Parameter1 ...
    Like        MOVE_TO 123.45 345.67
    So, we need
list box for user to select from several op_code
    push button  to 'enter'
radio button to select options (like inch vs. mm)
a graphic plot showing the  'execution'    (like the x-y grid inspection template.vi in the find-example)
drop down menu (like File in windows)
Grateful pointers for beginner's learning resources on user interface.
