User license reporting

In CUCM 9.1, how can I find out who's taking up an Enhanced Plus license? I'm trying to find out why I'm over allocated but I can't dig into that number in the ELM.

I refreshed both one more time before grabbing a screen shot and it cleared up... Odd because there were no changes made since Thursday. I guess it just took a while to update?
The error was stating that we were over the license count on the main CUCM login screen. When I went to ELM, it originally showed a user that had multiple devices assigned to him and had moved into the Enhanced + category. I corrected this user on Thursday and was just waiting for it to update and remove the error.

If we get named user licenses for BI Publisher for use against custom tables,
so 5 users can log in and build/run reports...
.. and if those users schedule reports with different parameters,
and the report outputs are emailed daily to 20 other folk as PDFs
( who never go to BI Publisher web page or log into BI Publisher )...
... does Oracle count this as requiring 5 named users or 25 named users?
Someone is telling me it's 25 named licenses we'd need?

Crystal Report Server - how to release concurrent user license

Hi all,
I have a client using Crystal report server 2008, they have 25 concurrent user license.
On all the services, the timeout properties is using the default 20 minutes timeout.
If user close a session by pressing the X, instead of clicking Logout, it did not release the license.
Example, instead of recording 12 active user session, it seems to show 15 user sessions where CR server shows that one of the users has 3 sessions open when in fact he only has one session.
Is there a way to resolve that?
From the forum post, I found one of them indicating that there is no solution to this. Is it true? I hope I am just missing something.

There are no session release tools built into XI other than restarting the CMS. If you want you can use SDK code [such as this |http://johnnyye.com/blog/2008/08/12/business-objects-xi-session-removal-tool/]to accomplish a psuedo session management.
In the current version of CRS the cms or code are the 2 best options. I'd keep a look out for changes in future service packs but I'm not aware of anything specific that will be done.

Crystal Report Server 2008 Named User License

Where can I find pricing info for Crystal Report Server 2008 Named User License?
This is for an existing Crystal Report 2008 Server installation, which was initially licensed with CAL. The user would now like to add dedicated NUL clients.
I found the following in the online store, but that includes a server license, which is not required in this case.

Reader X problem - Accept End User License Agreement

I have recently updated to Adobe Reader X.
I use Windows XP (SP3) and Internet Explorer.
Now, when I attempt to read a .pdf file a Reader X message pops up with the following message;
"Before proceeding you must first launch Adobe Acrobat and accept the End User License Agreement".
I do not have Adobe Acrobat, I am using the free Adobe Reader X.
Why am I getting this message and what can I do to stop it so that I can again read .pdf files.
This never happened with the previous version of Adobe Reader.
How can I go back to the previous version?

I have the same issue reported by Gryphon, however this response is an odd fix IF it were to be available to me.
The "Enable Protected Mode" is a new feature in Reader X that allows for a "sandbox" security layer in Reader. You can read up on that here: http://blogs.adobe.com/livecycle/2010/11/technical-details-of-adobe-reader-x-protected-mod e.html
While it does prevent you from opening up certain PDF's directly, we've only seen this when opening up files over our network. The message received was an "Access Denied" issue, and turning this off got rid of that.
In my scenario, I originally attemtped to update Reader 10.0.1 to 10.1.0 using SCUP and the published update. This caused my custom setup to be overwritten (customizations included default acceptance of license agreement, removing Auto Updater, and disableing Protected Mode). I then had to re-create a custom installation using the Customization Wizard with the 10.1.0 MSI file from the Adobe FTP site. After running this, I'm getting the above error now on machines that never had Acrobat.
That being said, Alex's suggestion of turning this on or off is not applicable b/c it's disabled based on my custom installation. The box is grayed out and I can't even enable/disable it anyway.
Anyone out there have a better solution?
UPDATE: It appears that Alex is correct. I removed the registry entry bProtectedMode from HKLM\Software\Policies\adobe\10.0\featureLockdown and was able to open all files w/out the message. However, I'm not 100% sure what this will do to other PDF files as we originally disabled this so that certain files could be opened. So far, this user has been ok with Protected Mode ENABLED, however, in a recent test, I was blocked from opening a web PDF b/c of it on my PC at my desk.

Oracle User Licensing

Hi,
Does anyone can help us out with Oracle User Licensing.
We have most of the users as iExpense user or requisition users, means they use oracle only for entering their expense report or creating requisition. Does anybody have clarity that whether we still need oracle license for them?
Or is their any mini/small kind of license for these group of employees?
Say in a company of 5000 employees, only 200 uses oracle but do we need to buy lincese for all 5000, since we have to provide them iexpense responsibility for their expense report?
Any clarification on this matter is highly appreciated.

Before we go to Sales rep, we wanted to see if some companies have negotiated for iExpense user or temp user rates.
It will not make sense to buy the licence for 5000 users when only 200 are active users and 4800 are only iexpense or requisition users.
If we ask this question to oracle rep, they are bound to try to sell the full license to us.
Have you heard of situation like us anytime?

Questions for "license report"

Please advise whether there are answers for the following questions in "License Report"
a. Update frequency
How often will raw data for report be updated ? What is the name/process of such raw data update ? Can't it be tailored to run on demand ?
b. Definition for some figures
a. "Current Active User Count" : To compile with license requirement, should it be smaller or equal to number of acquired license ?
b. "Users in the past 365 days" :
Will it change if an ID was disabled or deleted ?
Found its value is same as "Current Active User Count". Is it normal ?
I created a Filr local ID and then deleted it. Found both figures were incremented by one but both did not decrease after ID was removed
for one week. Is it normal ?

Serious problem with TSCAL per user Licensing (Event 4105 on Licenseserver)

i've got a problem with Terminalservice-Licensing: We migrated our AD from W2003 to W2008. At the same time, we updated our Terminalservice-Licenseserver to W2008 (Memberserver, no DC). We are using per-user TSCAL licensing. The problem is, that for (nearly) every user that logs on to a W2008 Terminalserver, an event 4105 is generated in the eventlog of the Licenseserver, that means that the licence server cannot update the ad user properties when he delivers the cals.
We have discovered that the terminalserver-licenceserver group is under the security properties of the user listed but has no rights. For new created users the rights "terminalserver-licenceserver read/write" are correctly set and for those users no event 4105 is generated. The problem is, that License-reporting (usage) is only working for those newly created accounts and not for old ones. Why doesn't the terminalserver-licenceserver group have the rights to modify the Terminalserver-AD attributes for older accounts (these accounts were created when the domain-level was W2003)??? Is there a workaround or hotfix from Microsoft to correct the securitysettings ??

Based on my understanding on your post, you have met the following issue:
You have migrated the Active Directory domain from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008; You have also upgraded the Terminal Server License Server from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008. After that, when the existing terminal users access the Terminal Server, an Event ID 4105 is logged to claim that the License Server fails to update the AD user’s properties.
According to the analysis on the second paragraph of your post, I think it is a known issue caused by insufficient permissions of the migrated users created in Windows Server 2003 domain environment. As you’ve found, the permissions required are for the Terminal Services Licensing Servers
group:
· Read Terminal Server license server
· Write Terminal Server license server
To fix this issue, please give these two permissions to the existing users.
After that, please confirm if the License Usage Report is working for the old users.

Limited user license

Hi! All,

As per my understanding, limited professional users are upper management people who do not carry out transactions in the system. They only use reports to check out data.
Here is what SAP documentation says:

A mySAP Limited Professional (Cat. III) user is a named user who performs limited operational related roles supported by the software. In particular employees of business third parties are to be licensed as mySAP Limited Professional users.
Those employees of business third parties that are performing functions or roles normally performed by the customer's employees, for example independent contractors, consultants or temporary employees need to be licensed as Professional Users.
The mySAP Limited Professional User license includes the rights granted under a mySAP Employee User license.

So if you are talking about line managers who approve/reject e.g. invoives, sales orders, purchase orders, etc I think you are going to need professional user license. <b>I am open to correction though</b>

I am finding it very difficult to manage the increasing discoverer users and reports.
I need to develop a tool or process to report, manage Discoverer active users and reporting for license compliance.
How to review user reports for possible deletion/preservation and final deletion of a user database logon?
How to delete a list of users?
How to preserve any shared reports that are actually used.?
How to clean up and delete their unused reports?
How to report: all active in a year (in last 6 months rolling), top 50, inactive?
any suggestions on how to get started with this?

You can manager users using EUSM (executable) found on the oid/ovd installation. Global/local role has to be created on the database side. All EUS mapping can be done on the OID or OVD side using "eusm". There is a metalink note that gives lots of examples on this. Or you can also use enterprise manager grid control that lets you do the same.
As or OVD vs. OID, I am not aware of any major limitations. just operational limitations. Since OID is a ldap server by itself, you can do a lot of tracing/auditing yourself instead of relying on other LDAP admins (unless you manage other ldap servers also). We are currently implementing oid 11.1.1.2 for EUS and I know of my previous employer who is in the middle of implementing OVD 11g (with sun one directory).

Infoview users licenses`

Hello, i am trying to provide public access for my crystal reports (customer views) from the infoview portal. currently i only have licenses for 5 users; so basically my question is do i have to purchase a user license for each customer who wants to login?
isn't there a special user license for public access (ie not developers or administrators).

Hi,
To get access to the InfoView platform you need an BOE licence. This will allow you to view, schedule, discuss reports. This comes in 2 flavours professional and premium. Profressional allows you to view 1 content type (Crystal Reports or (WebI & Deski)). To author WebI reports you will need a WebI licence as well.
With regard to your customers you will need at least one per customer. If a customer has more than one person viewing a report you will need 1 licence for each user at the customer.
It is also possible to buy licences at a CPU level but these are costed for large installation.
Finally if you have Business Objects edge series the licence is Concurrent Access. So it does not matter how many different people log in, only that the number that can log in simultaneiously is limited.

Limited Financials User License

While this user can create recurring postings, and can post the same documents, they are unable to set the flag in general settings to trigger the reminders when these recurring postings need to be posted.
This is a pest at implementation, as the user needs to be assigned a professional license, then update the flag, then have the license changed back.
Is it possible to allow some general settings for some users?
It would also be good to allow all users to be able to set their own background, or have the ability to set this as global from a corporate branding perpective.

I am afraid that it is a bugs in the B1 8.8 SP00 PL15.
According to [SAP patch delivery schedule|https://websmp109.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700002863602005E], the next release patch level for B18.8 SP00 is patch level 16. It will be released on week Oct 25-29, 2010.
Have you tried to test using professional user license ? if it is success to open the report, it means that the limited licenses bug still exists in B18.8 SP00. This problem also exists in B1 8.8 PL12 and belows.
Temporarily, if you need it so much, just request the temporary license that valid only for 14 days. It must be extended after expired. All of licenses type in the temporary license are professional users.
