User management sharing reference

What sharing reference do i have to add to my web dynpro project, so i can create a new user from it?????
I tried the com.sap.portal.htmlb.usermanagement, but the deployement fails..

How do Lightroom users manage sharing photos with family?

I'm just looking for some best practices about how to handle the workflow of sharing photos. Obviously the Lightroom user doesn't want family members to start messing around with the photos outside of Lightroom, and if the photos are not JPGs family members might not be able to view them anyway. One solution I can think of is to shoot all photos in JPG and in Camera Raw at the same time and save the JPGs to a folder available to everyone and only import the Camera Raw ones into Lightroom.

This is a possible solution, but by doing this, family members will not be able to see changes you applied to the photos from within LR.
Another option would be to export your LR inventory (or parts of it) regularely to a specific folder, where others can access the JPEGs/TIFFs.
In LR 3, this can be somewhat automated by using the Publish Services to harddisk, where only changed photos are exported again a second or successive time.
A different approach could also be LRViewer, which lets you view images in a LR catalog from the previews without accessing the originals and without being able to change anything on them.

I cant access my application control in user management cosole( shared svcs

Hi all.. A bit confused....... I just migrated users and groups to Shared Services.......from essbase adminstration server and essbase server.....While migrating to shared services I created a password ( lets assume 'yyyyy') for Essbase Administration Server and Essbase Server.. Well I dont have much more users... the only user for EAS server is default one which is username/password ='admin/password'. For Essbase Server username/password=xxxxxx/xxxxxxx. But after migrating users and groups to shared services mode when I tried to login with these passwords Iam unable to login....... Then I tried to login with my old username/password..... it was successfull..
The problem is when Iam trying to assign access control to application in "user management cosole"....... it is showing the error" login failed due to invalid login credentials". And also I cant access Business Rules it is throwing the error"Refer to security guide to configure security permission for this application"...........?
Any Idea....... What should do ?

I did as you said but still no hope... I think Iam making a mistake at some point.... But I dont know what is it.
The Sequence what I did was
1.Started the Essbase Server (with old username/password....as it shows only one user name while it starts).
2.Started the Essbase Administrative Server.
3.Start the EAS console...... with the old username/password=admin/password.
4.In the enterprise view I right click on the Administrative server>Externalise users> But it says "There are no users available for migration". So it seems my EAS server security has been converted to Shared Services security mode..So where can i use my new password when I created while migrating to shared services? and what is the username is it admin or some other?
5.In the enterprise view I right clicked on the essbase server. I removed the current Essbase Server. Then I tried to add Essbase Server.. Here I can see the checkbox for "Use External Authentication". So it means my essbase server has been externalised.. Well Here is the problem..When the check box is enabled it shows only username that is admin.....and password field is not highlighted.. When I click these it says" Login fails due to invalid credentials"....But I can log in (Add Esbase Server) with uncheck the "use external authentication" check box and entered the details of my old username and NEW PASSWORD which is created while migrating ESSBASE SERVER to Shared Services... then it works..........
After these prolonged process also I cant go with access control option for applications in User Managemnet Console...........

User Management problem after upgrade of SAP DB/Database Studio

Hi,
after upgrading SAP DB to 7.8.02.21 and Database Studio to the same version (this is on Windows 7 64 bit professional) I experience that starting DB Studio as a normal user fails with a message regarding not being able to execute (?) User Management. To start the program I have to run it as administrator. Once I do this it will, afterwards, work fine for a normal user, too, but only for one day (or possibly one logon to Windows 7).
(The error message does not even contain a hint to that solution)
In previous versions it was necessary to run DB Studio once (after installation) as an adminstrator. After that it would work all the same for normal users.
Is there a way to fix this? The desired behaviour being the one from previous versions that after one administrator run it can be started by my normal Windows user? It's, of course, not serious and I do know a workaround, but it's a bit annoying nonetheless.
(And yes, I do know that Windows 7 is not an officially supported platform. I'm just shyly asking).

due to the changes in the security concept in Windows 7 it's now required to be admin when you want to start or stop a service or to create 'global objects' like the shared memory files that are used to communicate between DBM-client, server and database kernel.
Since the user management of MaxDB Studio actually is just a small MaxDB instance, the service for this must be running.
To start the service and to create the shared memory the admin privilege is necessary on Windows 7.
What you may do is to flag the dbstudio.exe as "execute as administrator" - that will give you a pop-up warning every time you run the program but it will work.
I assume that is the workaround that you're already using and it's the one I use as well.
AFAIK the colleagues in Berlin are working on a version that doesn't require a MaxDB instance for local user management - that should remove this kind of problem as well.

User management - program installation

Maybe a simple question about user management, but not sure if I got it right.
I have worked with my wife on my Leopard iMac sharing the same login. Now I decided to create a own user for her.
What do I need to do with all the programs installed on the system. Can I just copy them over from my program folder? - I asume thats the way to do it for programs without installer... What about complex programs with a installer like Photoshop CS3?

Are your applications the /Applications folder? If so, then nothing. Applications at the top level of the HD are available to all users.

500 "Server error" when use User Management Console

Hello All, i'm staring with Hyperion products on this week))
I installed Shared Serveces and Essbase – System 9
I deployed Shared Serveces on OAS 10.1.3.1
And now when I use User Management Console and try to open
node 'Projects' I get an error 500 "Server error".
Why ?
Please help me resolve this issue
What's wrong? May be I have to install additional components to use Projects?

Not able to find Remote roles in User Management

We are using RRA for sharing contents between two portals. In the consumer portal PCD, the contents and roles of the producer portal is showing perfectly. But when i am trying to find the roles in User management in the consumer portal, these remote roles are not showing, and subsequently we are not being able to assign these remote roles to our local users. I have checked the connection and permission. Please help.

1. Please make sure that the server clocks on the producer and consumer portal are synchronized. One of the prerequisite for FPN is that the server clocks of the producer portal and consumer portal must be synchronized at all times.
2. When you are not able to see a remote role, at that time, test your SSO between consumer and producer. You can do this by logging in first into your consumer and then changing the URL to that of the producer and then hit Enter. If SSO is correctly working, you should be logged into the producer portal without having to log in again.

IStore B2B user management - Remove user

I have the following set up at my instance for iStore-
- The user registration type that access iStore is B2B
- I have a primary user for each organization that access the store.
- This primary user can has the IBE_USER_ADMIN privelege which allows it to create more user.
I want to give this primary user the privelege to Remove the user also.

For Business Users (B2B) there are the following roles:
IBE_BUSINESS_USER_ROLE non-administrative business user
IBE_PRIMARY_USER_ROLE administrative (primary) users

Firstly, Shared services is a centralized User management console for all hyperion applications. Once you externalize your security to shared services, You can create as many users as you want in shared services and assign him access to Essbase. How ever, You will have to go to EAS and do a "refresh security from shared services" for changes made to users in shared services to reflect in Essbase.
For projects to appear under shared services project list, you will have to register each product with the shared services.
If the same admin ID is used for all applications, Yes, the password change will reflect to all applications he has access to.

I have a Web Dynpro application, and I want to use the PortalRuntime class to get a reference to a Portal Service.
At runtime, when the PortalRuntime class is referenced by my code, I get
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sapportals/portal/prt/runtime/PortalRuntime
I've been searching for hours what sharing reference I must use to be able to use this class, without success.
I've two questions:
1. What sharing reference should I use (exactly)? Or is it sth. else I need?
2. Why don't I find any information that tells me how to find out what sharing reference to use for a certain class? Isn't there a list of all available standard SAP sharing references?

Do note that I had to create a separate External Library DC that contains the necessary jar files (portal APIs are not available as DCs, so you need to extract them from the server). My Web Dynpro DC then uses the API PP of the External Library DC. My External Library DC currently contains bc.rf.framework_api.jar, bc.sf.framework_api.jar, bc.sf.service.cache_api.jar, bc.util.public_api.jar and com.sap.security.api.ep5.jar (I also need it to use the KM cache service).

I have installed AD RMS and now installed on end users Microsoft Rights Management Sharing Application for Windows.
When I choose protect a document in any end user machine, does it connect with AD RMS server to get a certificate and encrypt the content, or does not use at all AD RMS services? What about when choosing to protect with an AD RMS template distributed
to end users?

Hi Ardi -
The first time a user creates or consumes protected content, they must contact the RMS server to "bootstrap". In this process, the user obtains certificates to identity them within the context of RMS.
Once a user has bootstrapped, he or she can create protected protected content without access to the RMS server.
To open protected content, a user must connect to the AD RMS server to obtain a "use license".

Sharing reference to UINavigationCommand

Hi,
I need the class com.sapportals.wcm.rendering.uicommand.cm.UINavigationCommand which is in the jar km.appl.ui.flex.uicommand_core.jar
What is the correct sharing reference ? I can't find this anywere. Is there some sort of convention for sharing references? (f.e. "strip the .jar and your good to go")

Hi,
Go to SAP Netweaver Administartor -> System Management -> Applications -> Search for the application and click on the START button.
If it doesn't worked, check the default trace file. Also check whether u made any naming error in the application.

Flusing user managed cache group - Applying filter

I got a user managed cache group having two tables.
Table A
ItemId Number (Primary key)
ItemName varchar2
created_date date
Table B
ItemID Number (primary key)
Sale_date Number (primary key)
Sale_quanity number
created_date date.
primary key(itemid, sale_date) ,
foreign key(itemid) references tablea(itemid)
When I execute 'flush cache group sample where ItemId=100 and created_date>=trunc(sysdate)", the filter is only applied to the TableA for ItemId and created_date and it is not applied to the Table B for both the columns.
I traced the session in oracle and found that all the rows in the TABLE B for Item_ID=100 is flushed to the oracle but the additional condition on created_date is not applied on the Table B.
I was expecting that Timesten would apply the condition "created_date>=trunc(sysdate)" on both Table A and Table B, but it is being applied only on Table A.
Is this expected behaviour? Is there any way I can force the flushing operation to consider columns from both the tables? Any other workaround?

SOLUTION
User Management Responsibility 의 경우 'Security Administrator' 와 'Customer Administrator' Role privilege 가 해당 user에게 assign되어 있을 때에만 사용 가능 하다.
아래와 같이 assign 한다.
1. SYSADMIN User 로 applications 에 접속 한다.
2. User Management responsibility 를 선택한다.
3. Users web page 를 click 한다.
4. 해당 user 를 find 한다.
5. Update Icon 을 click 한다.
6. Assign Roles button을 click 한다.
7. 'Security Administrator' Role 를 Assign 한다.
8. Apply 후 Customer Administrator Role 도 동일한 방법으로 assign 한다.
9. 해당 user 로 다시 applications 에 접속 후 test 해 본다.

You do not mention which account you are using to do this - I suspect you are using your own account. What you will notice is that if you login as the SYSADMIN account and use the User Management responsibility, you will be able to succeed :-) In a real world situation, the SYSADMIN account (being a generic one) is typically locked down, so using the SYSADMIN account is not feasible. What you will need to do is to login as the SYSADMIN account (this one time only) and using the User Management responsibility, grant the "Security Administrator" role to your apps account (assuming it is the one you are using). Then logout and login as yourself and you will see that you will be able to do what you need to do. Unfortunately, this step is not documented very well anywhere AFAIK. Pl let us know if this works for you.
