"user not authenticated" in Africa
My missionary friend has an email account set up with africaonline, the service provider in Ghana. When he is at the africaonline office he can send and receive email fine. However, when he attempts to send email from any other location he gets a "user not authenticated" message. His connection is by modem. Thanks for the help!

He is using the iBook modem. I am assuming it is the same ISP since he is not changing the information that he initially entered to set up the service. He lives in a rural village and drives to an internet "cafe" - a wooden shed that provides him with a phone cable and a dial up connection. There are no land lines in his area. The strange thing is that he had no email difficulties with his previous iBook.
I don't know what kind of connection he is using at the africa online office - it is located in Accra which is a large fairly modern city.

Error Message For BISystemUser: User not authenticated
We have migrated from DEV to PROD env.(11.1.1.1 -> 11.1.1.3). Along problems with bipublisher - there are some strange thingths: we successfully loging using weblogic account into AdminConsole и Enterprise Manager, but in Answers we get an error: invalid username or password.
nqserver.log:

Symptoms: In OBIEE 11.1.1.3.0 using default authenticator, it is not possible to log in to OBIEE after changing repository. To troubleshoot, BIsystemuser was removed from global roles and added back again.
Getting error: Unable to Sign in. invalid username or password was entered
Changes: Changed repository, deleted BISystemuser, added the user back
Cause: Several changes e.g changing rpd, deleting bisystem user, adding the user back etc. occurred in the environment and caused log in to OBIEE to stop working
Solution: After a lot of troubleshooting e.g re-starting system in the correct order, refreshing GUIDs, re-start OBIEE with default SampleAppLite.rpd and web catalog, the error persists. The system was uninstalled and re-installed to avoid further corruption and configuration problems in the new installation. This resolved the problem
Does we have to 'reinstall or make a lot of troubleshooting e.g re-starting system ' to solve this error?
It seem to be funny for PROD environment. How we cam resolve this problem?Are you saying you upgraded both dev and prod from 11.1.1.1 to 11.1.1.3 or that you migrated a dev 11.1.1.1 to a prod 11.1.1.3? What did you migrate?
At a rough guess the BISystemUser password is different in dev and prod (created by system on install) and in your 'migration' you've moved the dev credential across to prod.
If that's the case you need to change the bisystemuser password to something known and update the credential store password.
Another possibility might just be that you need to regenerate the GUIDs:

VPN Client and Clientless users not authenticating with AD
Web clients are receiving login failed messages and VPN clients are getting disconnected by host messages. I am able to ping the server from the ASA5510. Users authenticate in AD. I am not sure if the problem is on the server or the ASA.

Are you using LDAP for user authentication, is this a new setup or was this working at one point?
If using LDAP please use "debug ldap 255" and reproduce, If you are using radius what are you using?

Domain user not authenticated from Windows 7 PC
Hi,
This is the background of the problem.
Windows 2003 Servers running AD. 2 Servers, Primary and Backup.
2008 R2 servers are joined as members of 2003 AD. Mail server and File server
Clients - Win XP, Win 7.
Share folders on Fileservers were accessible from both type of clients.
Since windows update happend last week (12/03/2015),Win 7 users are being rejected by the 2008 servers
Win XP users do not face this issue
Please help, it's driving me nuts :)

ThepulLook at some of the issues that have been arising from KB3002657; uninstalling it seems to solve the problems for most people. Authentication errors from Windows 7 and 8.1, but XP works normally.

New user not authenticating, can't change/use root access

First, I'm am unable to add any new users to my standalone server. Actually, I can add them but they won't authenticate. Am using File Services, AFP and SMB, and Web services for sharing iCals. No home directories, no NetBoot, no Open Directory Master, local users only. Pretty simple setup.
Second issue, which I'm thinking might be related, is that I have no System Admin (root) access to the server. I do have admin access to local directory. Tried to set root access starting up from OS DVD and it seemed to "take" but after restarting, Xserve does not recognize the newly set password (or the old one for that matter.)

Hiding prices for not authenticated users in Web Channel Web Shop

I have a requirement for hiding prices for all users who are not logged. The prices only will be shown once the users are authenticated into the system (Portal). Any ideas...?

Starting yesterday (I believe) we are suddenly receiving a "User not found" error when trying to view a user's profile page when clicking on their name (in search or elsewhere) via the url

This is happening for all users. (but profiles exist and seem ok, and sync with AD is running fine) When looking in the logs I see the error (full ULS log is later below)
Exception in LoadRequestedUserProfile: (Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles.UserNotFoundException: User Not Found: Could not load profile data from the database.
The only clue of what MAY be going on is just before that I see the following two lines which came up after I changed the Database logging to Verbose:

If I am reading that correctly, does it mean the connection to the database is timing out instantly? I am able to use powershell to pull up profiles and print them to the screen while on the webservers. And it's only the one specific page that is not
working.
What sort of tests or further debugging can I do for the error above?
We are on premise, SharePoint 2013 sp1, sql2012, server 2012, claims using the full SharePoint Profiile Sychronization against AD. Farm has been running since last august. Last week the admin team did run windows update on all servers, I can't be sure
if it was broken for 5 days and no one noticed or if it broke yesterday.
I already did the following:
Verified the profiles do exist in central admin.
I can still access their personal sites directly via
https://www.contoso.org/personal/myuserlogin
I checked the ProfileDB database and made sure the service accounts for the UPA has dbowner, so does the farm account, and the web application pool has SPDataAccess.
Verified the AD sync account has proper rights in AD.
I reran a full synchronization which ran with no errors.
File systems on the webservers and appserver have plenty of free space.
Rebooted every server in farm
I even checked the bin directory of the mysite webapplication, (since once I had a weird problem where access to bin was removed.) WSS_ADMIN_WPG, WSS_RESTRICTED_WPG_W4 have full control and WSS_WPG,IIS_IUSRS all have read and execute.
I opened powershell on the webserver I can indeed load profiles and print their values.

AnyConnect error " User not authorized for AnyConnect Client access, contact your administrator"
Hi everyone,
it's probably just me but I have tried real hard to get a simple AnyConnect setup working in a lab environment on my ASA 5505 at home, without luck. When I connect with the AnyConnect client I get the error message "User not authorized for AnyConnect Client access, contact your administrator". I have searched for this error and tried some of the few solutions out there, but to no avail. I also updated the ASA from 8.4.4(1) to 9.1(1) and ASDM from 6.4(9) to 7.1(1) but still the same problem. The setup of the ASA is straight forward, directly connected to the Internet with a 10.0.1.0 / 24 subnet on the inside and an address pool of 10.0.2.0 / 24 to assign to the VPN clients. Please note that due to ISP restrictions, I'm using port 44455 instead of 443. I had AnyConnect working with the SSL portal, but IKEv2 IPsec is giving me a headache. I have stripped down certificate authentication which I had running before just to eliminate this as a potential cause of the issue. When running debugging, I do not get any error messages - the handshake completes successfully and the local authentication works fine as well.

10.6.8 Server - workgroup manager not authenticated
I have 10.6.8 Server that has suddenly stopped accepting the dradmin password when using Workgroup Manager. Workgroup Manager connects, but in not authenticated mode. When I click the lock icon and am prompted for the ID & Password it is rejected. I know with 100% certainty I am using the correct administrator ID and password. I am running Workgroup Manager directly on the server computer. I'm able to log on to the computer as the local administrator. Server Admin works fine with no authentication issues.
I have not applied the 10.6.8 Supplemental update, but wonder if that might be helpful.
It is very concerning to be locked out of my own server. Any suggestions why this is happening and how to reslove it?

-JoeThe logs revealed that dradmin was actually authenticating successfully, but for some reason Workgroup Manager was still in unauthenticated mode. I installed 10.6.8 Supplemental update and found no improvement.
All users have portable home directories and everything with Open Directory was functioning properly. DNS and Kerberos were confirmed to be working properly. Several restarts and shutdown/startups were performed and I never was able to get Workgroup Manager to authenticate. So after a few hours troubleshooting last weekend I decided to restore the server to a disk image that was created 20 days earlier. I elected to do this this because I needed to get it resolved on the weekend to minimize the chance of downtime during business hours. The only thing on the boot drive is the server OS an everything else is stored on an external RAID so it was fairly simple for me to restore then get everything current again.
I kept an image of the server with the problem so I can restore it to a standby server to experiment with any possible fixes that I may come across in the future. As of now I don't know why it happened nor how to fix it without restoring. -

Message Protocol: XIPAYLOAD
URL: To get the value of URL, execute transaction SCOT in PI system. Double click on SMTP and get the Mail host from there (name). So the URL has been specified as smtp://name

530 5.7.1 client was not authenticated
OK, I am not in control of an exchange server. My company uses GoDaddy for our exchange server. I am an employee. We use a software for contact management. When I try to send emails to say a group of customers, it gives me the error
530 5.7.1 client was not authenticated. I have talked to GoDaddy until I am blue in the face to no avail. Everything I find says it is something on their end. By the way, we just switched to them, we have absolutely no problem with our previous
company that we had exchange with. ANY help would be appreciated. OF course our outlook works.
The only information our software (called RPMS) requires is the SMTP server which I enter smtp.ex3.secureserver.net

user name which they say is the same as email address (*****@alliedsm.com) and password. My old exchange service had me use port 27, but new company says I have to use 587.In the outbound smtp setting did you set outgoing smtp requires authentication?

In the Internet Email Settings window, click the "Outgoing Server" tab. Ensure that the box next to "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" is checked and "use same settings as my incoming mail server" is selected.
Click the "Advanced" tab and make sure that "Use the following type of encrypted connection" is set to "None" for the incoming (POP3) and the outgoing (SMTP) port settings. Change the outgoing server port to 587.

Hi all,
I have an Exchange server 2013 on windows 2012 R2 and do all the configuration for sending and receiving the mail according to the document provided by Microsoft.
But whenever I am trying to send mails from external domains to my exchange server domain I got the following error:
530 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated
Same thing I am getting If I am sending mail through outlook from my Exchange domains to external domain.
But if I am selecting the

</label>I have a java code for sending mails using the SMTP address of the servers. For sending a mail it required a valid user name and password. For all other SMTP servers if I have used invalid user name and password then I am getting the 530
5.7.1 Client was not authenticated error, but
if I am using my SMTP address and invalid user name and password then also I am able to send the mails.
So I just want to know what I have to configure in the exchange 2013 server so that it will validate the user name and password.

Was invalid user name and password included in Java code?
Did outlook send emails?
If this issue happen on Java code instead of outlook?
In fact, Exchange server didn’t validate user account and password, user account and password will be validated on domain controller,
I suggest we create a new dedicated receive connector and enable “anonymous” permission for java code

you need to create a session object passing a valid authenticator. In other words,
MyAuthenticator auth = new MyAuthenticator ();

I have some problem with Mail service with the Webspaces application. I have configured the Service (with MS Exchange server) with WebSpaces Application with the required IMAP, SMTP, External Application and LDAP Settings correctly. I opened the Mail Page and Logged in with the
