User or Group is not recognised error using Forms Authentication

Hi Guys,
Hope you can help; I'm having a bit of trouble adding new users/ groups to my report server.
My current set up is SSRS 2008 utilising forms authentication with single sign- on and am trying to set permissions on a folder level.
I've checked that the server is pointing to the correct database and that this database is up to date (has all relevant roles, users etc...) but whenever I go to add a new user/ role (site settings --> security) I get the following error:
The user or group name 'Users' is not recognized. (rsUnknownUserName)
I've also confirmed the roles/ users that I'm trying to add are in the database
I should add that I'm new to this SSRS malarkey so let me know what information you need and I'll find it out for you.
Thanks!

Hi Donpisci,
The error “The user or group name <name> is not recognized (rsUnknownUserName)” means the Report Server cannot find the user from domain or local users or groups of report server. Reporting Services stored users with users’ SID. After we type a username
in the username textbox, the Reporting Services will use the method “LookupAccountName” in Windows API to get the user’s SID.
You can refer to the link below to download the application, and then run the application. Type the user name in the username textbox, and then click “Find” to check whether you can get the SID.

In addition, you can disable firewall temporarily.

  • TF201072: A user or group could not be found

    We are using TFS2010 (for source control only), and until recently
    everyone was using VS2010. Our developers just installed VS2012.
     When you go to "Pending Changes" in Team Explorer, we are seeing
    TF201072: A user or group could not be found. Verify that the
    users and groups used in your work item type definition have been added
    to Team Foundation Server., twice, at the top. We can still check-in code from VS - seems this error is ignored.
    However, we are unable to shelve changes - when you attempt to
    shelve, the same error comes up in a popup, and the shelveset is not
    saved.
    We can shelve using the command prompt (tf shelve), and
    can still shelve using VS2010, so it doesn't seem to be a permission
    issue. Also, the TFS administrator is not seeing the error message, and
    can shelve from VS2012 with no error.
    Any thoughts as to what could be causing VS to error out here? We've tried clearing out the TFS cache, creating a new workspace, and gone over every option we could find in Visual Studio.

    Hi Rudy,
    I'd like to know more details about the reproduce steps, and whether you have upgraded your TFS server. If you don't have permission to access the database, then you can ask TFS administrator to grant you corresponding permissions to access the database
    you're trying to access.
    And you can check whether built-in records were missing in table TFSIntegration..tblsubscription. Refer to the link below for more details:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/emmamou/archive/2009/03/13/a-case-study-on-tfs-identity-replication.aspx?wa=wsignin1.0&CommentPosted=true#commentmessage
    Another option is check if the SID of service account is correct. Replace SID if not, you can refer to this
    thread for the steps.

         org.apache.jasper.runtime.PageContextImpl.handlePageException(PageContextImpl.java:779)

    Hi Suhasini,
    The JRC XI R2 (11.5) doesn't support "Original Order" grouping, however this functionality has been introduced in the latest version JRC -Crystal Reports for Eclipse
    This version is available as a plug-in to the Eclipse IDE ad is available here:
    http://diamond.businessobjects.com/eclipse
    Note that you can use the same keycode you use for CR XI Release 2 with CR for Eclipse.
    If you are not using the Eclipse IDE you can still used these jars as a drop-in replacement of the JRC XI R2 jars.
    Kind Regards,
    Flavio

    In our java web application trying  establish the connection for sharePoint 2013
    using  Windows claims authentication (NTLM ), I am getting error message "Server was unable to process request. ---> Site is not configured for Claims Forms Authentication". But In the Sharepoint 2013 our Site is is configured for Windows
    claims only.
    In the Sharepoint 2013 server in the IIS manager settings for authentication it is  enabled for both Windows claims and Forms authentication,
    but if I disable Forms authentication that I will be able to connect it through my application but with the direct access i.e., by running the URL in the browser I am not able to connect getting error message "sorry this site has not been shared with
    you" in the browser  Kindly help me on this.

    Hi,
    This issue is always caused that you had missed FBA configuration in web config of your web application.
    You can configure the FBA authentication then check whether it works.

  • For the 1st time I am trying to send an iPhoto by email but get an error message "combinations of username and password not recognised" I use the same details to log on to my Sky Mail (yahoo mail ) account . Any ideas?

    For the 1st time I am trying to send an iphoto by e-mail but get the error message " combination of username and password not recognised  by the server" I use Sky Mail ( yahoo mail) and input the same username and password that I access Sky Mail - have retried many times. Predictably the Sky help desk have no idea. Can anyone help please?

    I regret that you're having trouble setting up your email, corbad! You're on the right track with your incoming email address. You might also try incoming.verizon.net or incoming.yahoo.verizon.net as possible alternatives, and 995 as the port number. Please let me know how that goes!

  • Getting "Method 'sign_in' does not exist" Error (using Charles)

    This may be a bit off the FLEX field, and have to do with Zend Framework's ZEND_AMF class. Unfortunately I haven't been able to dig anything up, and comments posted on Wade Arnolds site have not received any responses, so I thought I'd give it a go here.
    My ServiceController Class:
    public function loginAction()
         $this->_helper->viewRenderer->setNoRender();
         $server = new Zend_Amf_Server();
         $server->setClass('LoginAmfService', 'LoginService');
         $server->setClassMap('CurrentUserVO', 'CurrentUserVO');
         $server->setProduction(false);
         print($server->handle());
    My LoginAmfService class:
    class LoginAmfService
          * Main login function.
          * @param  string        $name
          * @param  string        $password
          * @return CurrentUserVO
         public function sign_in($name, $password)
              $authAdapter     = new Zend_Auth_Adapter_DbTable(Zend_Registry::get('db'), 'users', 'user_name', 'password', 'PASSWORD(?) AND active = 1');
              $returnValue     = new CurrentUserVO();
              $authAdapter->setIdentity(htmlspecialchars($name))
                   ->setCredential(htmlspecialchars($password));
              $authResult = $authAdapter->authenticate();
              if ($authResult->isValid())
                   $userArray                          = $authAdapter->getResultRowObject(array('id', 'first_name', 'last_name', 'title', 'photo'));
                   $returnValue->first_name     = $userArray->first_name;
                   $returnValue->last_name          = $userArray->last_name;
                   $returnValue->title               = $userArray->title;
                   $returnValue->photo               = $userArray->photo;
                   $returnValue->token               = $userArray->id;
              return $returnValue;

    Now, all this is great and good, as it works with Zend Framework 1.7.6. However, when I try to upgrade to 1.7.8 (to take advantage of session management and other bug-fixes), I get the following error (using Charles):
    #1 /var/web/htdocs/core/library/Zend/Amf/Server.php(390): Zend_Amf_Server->_handle(Object(Zend_Amf_Request_Http))

    #5 /var/web/htdocs/core/library/Zend/Controller/Front.php(934): Zend_Controller_Dispatcher_Standard->dispatch(Object(Zend_Controller_Request_Http), Object(Zend_Controller_Response_Http))
    #6 /var/web/htdocs/core/application/bootstrap.php(39): Zend_Controller_Front->dispatch()
    #7 /var/web/htdocs/core/public/index.php(5): Bootstrap->runApp()
    #8 {main} ?Method "sign_in" does not exist
    I have no idea why this would not work anymore. My assumption is that I am not correctly setting up Zend_Amf (but then again, my counter-argument is that it worked before, so ..... ????)
    Thanks for any help!
    -Mike

    For those that are also fighting this issue:
    The problem appears to be that the RemoteObject needs to specify the class containing the methods as a source parameter. According to this bug report (http://framework.zend.com/issues/browse/ZF-5168) it is supposed to have been addressed, but apparently has re-emerged in Zend_Amf since version 1.7.7.
    Using my example above, I would have to specify the RO as:
    <mx:RemoteObject
              id="LoginRemote"
              destination="login"
              source="LoginAmfService"
              showBusyCursor="true"
              fault="parentDocument.handleFault(event)"
         >
               <mx:method name="sign_in" result="signin_handle(event)" />
               <mx:method name="sign_out" result="signout_handle(event)" />
         </mx:RemoteObjecct>

  • Libretto - USB Device Not Recognised error message

    Hi there
    I have a workaround for this problem which ocassionally happens. It is just to reconnect the USB hub(as recommended by Windows). I was just wondering if someone knows why this happens and how to fix it. The error is :--
    "USB device not recognised. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognise it.
    USB Roob Hub (2 ports) - Unused Port, Unknown Device.
    Recommendation: try reconnecting the device. If Windows still does not recognise it, replace the device. "
    I look forward to hearing back from you.
    Kind regards
    Julia.

    Hello Julia
    It is always advantageous to mention which model you have exactly. Obviously the external device is not recognized correctly. Check if there is some driver that must be installed before you can use it properly.

  • I pod not recognised when used with usb cable

    I have recentley bought a new computer, which has no firewire port ( which i had used to connect my ipod classic 40gbto my old computer without any issues. However I have purchased a usb connection cable to use with the new computer and neither windows or I tunes will recognise that i connect my ipod. I simply get a message saying usb device malfunctioned,windows does not recognise it. Although the ipod will still connect to my old computer with the firewirecable it will not connect with the usb either, any help would be greatly recieved as I have tried resetting and disk mode to no avail.

    I have to say I have the same exact problem. It may sometimes be solved by putting the ipod into Disk mode before plugging it or by changing the ipod drive letter. In my case nothing have worked though, so if anyone has other ideas please tell me.

  • Page Not Found error using FRAMES

    Hi,
    I am using servlets on Unix/Tomcat server. I am getting a 'Page Not Found' error on IE only (it works fine on Netscape) in one of the servlet applications for 'dial up' and 'cable modem' connection. There is no error, if you let it sit there for a while and try it again.
    This particular application is working fine on IE with LAN connection.
    In this servlet, I am using 'post' method for query string. And this same servlet invoking two frames (calling two other servlets) using 'get' method to retrive the information and displaying in frames.
    Help is greatly appreciated, if anyone knows the solution.
    Thanks
    Nkumar

    Thanks for the response. I am using synchronized for all three servlets. The first servlet calls two other servlets as follows:
    public synchronized void doPost{HttpServletRequest      request, HttpServletResponse     response
      ) throws ServletException, IOException
    Is it right?

  • Filtering Groups on Windows Active Directory using LDAP Authentication

    Hi All,
    I have small module that filters the groups from the Windows AD using LDAP attributes and flushes the data into the DB[code below].
    This module was developed and tested on weblogic 8.1[on windows]and works fine.
    Now the same is moved to another environment- Websphere on Linux Suse. The code fails to retreieve any value from the Windows AD.
    Please note no exception is aslo thrown.

    Assuming it is the same Active Directory environment and only your Java platform has changed, the I can only assume that if no exception is thrown, and no data is returned, then the credentials you are using on the new Java platform are being mapped to an anonymous user (perhaps a blank password ?). By default, Windows Server 2003 domains, do not return any results to anonymous users.

  • Db function throws ORA-04067 Procedure does not exist error in forms

    I have a db function that returns a value that I assign to a non-db item in Forms. The function compiles fine in the database, I've granted execute privileges to the forms user, and the form in which it's called compiles fine, but when I run the form and the trigger in which the function is called is fired, I get a ORA-04067 error, and Display_error doesn't show any additional information. My function syntax is as follows:
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION f_method_in_prod(form_smi_field varchar2) RETURN VARCHAR2 IS
    cur_smi varchar2(200) := form_smi_field;
         cursor smi_lu is
         select source_method_identifier from nemi_data.method
         where cur_smi = source_method_identifier;
         smi_var varchar2(200);
    begin
         open smi_lu;
         fetch smi_lu into smi_var;
         close smi_lu;
         if smi_var is not null
         then
         RETURN 'yes';
         end if;
    END f_method_in_prod;
    I've tried calling the function as function_name and as schema_name.function_name in the form and I get the error regardless of the format I use.
    I'm using Forms 9.0.4
    Any suggestions?
    thanks

    I am not sure if this would cause the 04067 error, but your function does not return anything if smi_var is null. That is definitely a big problem.
    Here is a function that should work better:
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION f_method_in_prod(form_smi_field varchar2) RETURN VARCHAR2 IS
      yes_no    varchar2(3);
    Begin
      Begin
        Select 'yes' into yes_no from dual where exists
          (select null from nemi_data.method
           where source_method_identifier = form_smi_field);
        Exception when no_data_found then yes_no := 'no';
      End;
      Return yes_no;
    END f_method_in_prod;
