User policies prevent MMS from creating snapln-modules

I have uninstalled mcafee virus program and after that I'm not into fierwall or administrative tools due to user policy refuses MMC to create snap-in and ask me to
contact the administrator who is me.I can not get into something or do some things. error messages is:CLSID:FX(b05566ac-fe9c-4368-be02-7a4cbb7cbe11) and CLSID:(58221C67-EA27-11CF-ADCF-00AA00A80033) please help

Please try following steps to check the issue:
1. Navigate to the following directory:
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\CONFIG
2. Copy the 'machine.config' file to desktop just in case before you go to 3rd step.
3. Rename machine.config to machine.config.old which is locating in the directory above.
Since this issue can be caused by corrupted system files, please run following command to scan system:
SFC /SCANNOW
Considering that the corrupted .net components will also cause this issue, please also try to remove and reinstall .net framework:
.NET Framework cleanup tool now supports .NET Framework 4.5 and Windows 8

If this issue still persists or any error message after SFC, please upload the saved event log, CBS*.log and full error message here for further research.

How do I prevent Lightroom from creating duplicates if the edit in photoshop is not saved?
So... Quite often I choose to 'Edit in photoshop' from Lightroom but then end up not saving the result. (for example, because I just wanted to experiment with the photo, or I'm not satisfied with the results)
However, Lightroom always creates a copy of the original photo, which stays in the catalog even if the photoshop changes aren't saved.
Is there a way to stop this, and only add a photo if it has been edited in PS?

Select 'Open the Image in PS as a Smart Object'. The image will be rendered by ACR in memory without being written to disc until you save it from within PS.

Prevent RAWs from creating JPGs in iPhoto

Is there a way to prevent iPhoto from creating a JPG file when imported? I have the "don't make a copy" prefrence selected but it still creates a JPG. This is creating a memory issue for me because the RAWs are around 25-30MB and when imported into iphoto it makes another 5-10MB JPG.

No - iPhoto creates a JPEG for use in viewing and editing and for other programs to access - and note that turning off the copy imported items to the iPhoto library is strongly not recommended - it makes importing and deleting photos more difficult and makes relocating the originals (adding an external drive - replacing failed hardware - upgrading hardware - etc) much more difficut
You may want to consider solutions other than iPhoto since it does not operate the way you want to

Default user settings - prevent them from being wiped out

Elements 6.0 comes with intitial settings. For example:
Select tools have Anti-alias set to On.
The location of dialog boxes is pre-defined, then can be moved by the user. Eg Selection > Feather, Create new layer, all the Enhancements, etc.
Preset manager, Preferences.
Other ease-of-use things I don't remember.
When I exit the program my settings are preserved. The next time I open the program the settings are as I left them.
But if Photoshop exits abnormally, and sometimes when it's just ornery, my settings are back to the factory settings.
I figure these user settings are saved in a file somewhere. If I save the file and Photoshop reverts to factory settings, I should be able to restore the saved file and be back to hunky dory. But what file is it?
Anyone know what file this is, or another way around this nuisance problem?

Yes, you can save the current set of preferences and use those to replace corrupt preference files.
If on Windows, the preferences are in a hidden folder so you'll first have to "show hidden files and folders" on your system.

After you have "hidden files and folders" toggled to show...
If on Vista or Windows 7, type .psp in the start menu search bar, Photoshop elements 6 editor Prefs.psp (or worded similar) will show up in the list. Right click the name and select copy. Right click on your desktop and select Paste from the menu. Once this is done, you should now have a copy of your current editor preferences that you can move wherever you want to save them. You can do the same with the organizer preference file.
If on XP, you'll have to navigate to the file. As with Vista and XP, you'll have to show hidden files and folders first.

I believe, the file path you need to navigate to get to your preferences will be:
C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements.
Note: I would recommend when finished coping your preference files going back and toggling off "show" hidden files and folders.

Restrict user account, prevent intruder from doing bad things

I am currently planning and setting up a backup-server with ZFS. There will be daily snapshots of the filesystem (cron job).
Different machines connect automatically without a password via ssh (public/private key) and rsync their stuff to the backup server.
Each machine will connect to it's specific user (and therefore to it's own home directory) on the backup server. I thought that if one of the machines gets compromised (e.g. someone gets access to the private key) he only could access one home folder, nothing more. As there are daily snapshots, even it he deletes all files, they will still be there.
Is just adding a normal user per machine enough or should / can be done more to enhance security? As I said the user account is only for logging in and rsyncing stuff to the home directory.
E.g. disabling executing of applications except of rsync? Preventing fork bombs? Making it harder to run exploits? Other stuff I didn't think about?

But if I take away the shell completely (e.g. chsh -s /sbin/nologin username), I think I won't be able to rsync via ssh right?
lshell sounds very promissing for my case, I will have a look at it!
edit: I found out that there is also a "--restricted" option for "bash", where one can disable PATH variables, changing directories. I will have a look.

Adding an "IMAQ Image.ctl" to the "Display State.ctl" of an XControl prevents LabVIEW from creating a probe of "Display State.ctl"

I am working on an extended IMAQ Display control using LabVIEWs XControl capabilities.
I need a copy of the original image passed to add some overlays which must not affect the original image. To achieve this I am creating a backup image in the "Init.vi" and deleting it in the "Uninit.vi". I am storing the reference of this image in the "Display State.ctl" which is part of every XControl.
As soon as I am adding an "IMAQ Image.ctl" to the Display State cluster, it is no longer possible to generate a probe of the Display State cluster for debugging purposses. I am always getting the message: "Failed to load or create probe."
Deleting the "IMAQ Image.ctl" from the cluster makes the probe working again.
Is it a bug or am I doing something wrong?
I am working with LabVIEW 8.5 and Vision 8.5.

I found a example/knowledge base where some informations were included to XControl and LV but not with Vision.

How to prevent Spaces from creating a new session after logging out

Hi,
I'm using WebCenter Spaces (11.1.1.4), and I notice that the user is redirected to the landing page after logging out which causes a new HTTP session to be created. I'd like to avoid this behavior, and I was told that this could be done by creating a custom logout page with pure HTML and redirect the user there upon logout. How do I go about doing this? I couldn't find anything related to this in the documentation.

What's wrong with a new session?
When you logout, the current session will be destroyed so it's just normal that he creates a new webcenter that does not contain a user credential.

How to prevent Nemo from creating ~/Desktop

Every time nemo is executed, it seems to automatically create the ~/Desktop directory. How could I disable this behavior? I'm using i3wm.

Does the Pearl Flip 8220 for T-Mobile allow MMS notification (and prevent downloading)? P.S. Both my $15 & $20 Motorola w376G and W233 allow this setting. It's kinda hidden and not in the manual (for good reason) .

I use gmail contacts as Imap in q10
When I sync these with my outlook, BB creates a separate list called PC contacts
So under contacts I have:
1. All
2. Favorites
3. Groups
4. BBM
5. Gmail
6 PC
I actually wnat only one list, I want to remove all the others, favs, groups, bbm, pc
Why cant I have only 1 list?

With photostream on, it creates a project labelled "Nov 2011 Photo Stream" that is empty. I don't remember creating this project, but I can't swear that I didn't. I delete the project, but everytime I reopen Aperture, it is recreated. If I turn photostream off within Aperture, this behavior stops. Turn photostream back on in Aperture, the zombie project comes back.

But why does it keep coming back? I understand if the current month is recreated again, but we are in January 2013 and I have Aug, Nov and Dec 2012 that keep reappearing, even though I've already moved the photos to other projects and deleted them.
I can only assume at this point its a bug, but do you have any other ideas on kiling it without having to disable the auto import?

How do I prevent CS4 from creating HTML files on export of an image?

Everytime I export an image i am getting a html file created too. It is annoying having to delete them manually every time, and there seems to be no option to turn this feature off.
Generally I dislike CS4 compared to Macromedia Fireworks v8.

How to prevent user from creating jobs

Hi,
we need to prevent user from creating jobs on a dev enviorement. It's a 10.2.0.4 database standard on linux 64bits.
Their schema has only connect and resource roles. Is there a way to prevent them from creating jobs? In 11g it's the CREATE JOB permission, but in 10g i'm not sure how can i do this.

My younger brother keeps setting a passcode on his iTouch and then forgets what it is. I have had to restore the iTouch several times now. Is there a way to prevent him from creating a passcode?

No there is no way to prevent him from setting a passcode or even removing it. What you can do is that YOU can set a passcode which you will remember and then when he forgets, he simply asks you. Now, for whatever reason he keeps changing the passcode then he is going to have to remember or it is RESTORE again as you have done in the past.

However, I missed to mention that we have two set of users One is for Finished Goods and another for Spares.
Only Spares users need to be prevented from creating Direct/Manual Sales Orders in Oracle.
As you suggested, if this will be done at Form level, that may Disallow FG users also to create Manula Sales Orders which should not be the case.
Further, I tried to test one scenario through Processing Constraints but it did not work.
