User Presets Gone From LR4 But Show in LR5

My user presets do not appear in LR4 since I installed the LR5 Beta, but they do show up in LR5. How do I get them back into LR4?

Try this: In Preferences / Presets tab / Location either uncheck the box <Store presets with this catalog>, or check it if it is unchecked.

I had two test databases on one server that I had been experimenting with for transactional replication. I wanted to delete the publication from one database and the subscription from the other and finally delete both databases. I deleted
the publication, the subscription , the jobs related to them and finally the databases. I must confess that i wasn't as careful as I would be if I hadn't planned on just deleting everything. So what I have now is nothing appearing in SSMS under
local publications or local subscriptions for these two test databases (but pubs and subs for other useful things) but in replication monitor the publication shows up with a red x.
I cannot use sp_droppublication @publication='my pub name' because the publication database is gone. Can I do anything to remove this publication from replication monitor? This isn't a production server yet it has some users who would be
severely inconvenienced if I have to drop all replication and rebuild. Is there any other way?

Hi, I had a similar case, apply the EXEC sp_removedbreplication, but in the replication monitor even the replication was visualized with a red x, which caused me a false alarm.
The records MSreplication_monitordata table can not be deleted manually, it is only a guide for the monitor replication, because that's what I understood also try removing your records, but had no success.
Reaches a point where I thought I had to recreate all replications, but I found a solution.
Guide me in that table (MSreplication_monitordata), to search for agents publisher that had not been removed (eg DB: SDCGHJ), then search these agents and items in the tables: MSdistribution_agents, MSsnapshot_agents, MSlogreader_agents; located in the distribution
database and delete records that made reference to publisher_db SDCGHJ, delete jobs that they made reference to the publication eliminated.
With these steps the publication is no longer displayed on the monitor replication and "red x" stop appearing.

I don't want to reset my phone and lose all my other texts/ app progress/ photos. I do have backups, but when I restore from the backup the other space comes back along with everything else. What can I do to get rid of this other space and the 'deleted' text messages? (I'm running iOS 6.1.3 if that helps)

I would only restore if it was the only option left, but the other space, as already stated, isnt the main concern. The main concern is those 'deleted' texts. If they go, then a good size chunk of the other space goes. I know you CAN delete texts for good. It worked fine before. All i want to know is why its not working for me now, and how to fix it.
I also know that when you delete texts on your iphone, they get marked for deletion, however they stay on your device (thats why they show up when you search for them.) then when you sync your device with itunes, the texts marked for deletion should disappear. When i synced they didnt disappear. Thats what i need an explanation/solution for. Why the texts marked for deletion didnt get fully deleted after the sync.

User fonts missing from book but still in folder

Help. My user fonts suddenly don't show up in font book. I've tried all the standard fixes.
- restarted in SAFE mode.
- cleared the font cache
- verified the disc
- repaired permissions
- reinstalled both font book and the user font folder from an older version in Time Machine
- Verified all the fonts.
I haven't tried tossing them in another user account yet because I find the idea of having to reset up the entire user account alarming. Is there anything else I can try? These fonts all worked just days ago.
If I click on the fonts in the user folder they come up 'installed' and reappear. But as soon as I close and reopen fontbook they disappear again.

This might be too late to help Starhorsemac, but I just solved a nearly identical problem on my iMac running Mountain Lion.
The problem turned out to be that the fontd lauchd agent had been disabled for my account. Re-enabling the agent made all of my user fonts re-appear in Font Book.
To check and see if fontd is running, open a terminal window and type:
     launchctl list | grep -i fontd
If fontd is running, you'll get a line similar to this:
     154     -     com.apple.fontd
If fontd is running, your problem is different than mine.
If fontd is not running, you can start it with this command:
     launchctl load -wF -D system com.apple.fontd
I hope someone finds this useful.

User Presets removed from right-click menu? Why???

I updated to LR CC 2015 yesterday and it appears that User Presets are no longer available in the right-click menu under Develop Settings. Am I missing something? Why in the world would they do this? I am used to being able to grab a series of exposures for an HDR and apply a pre-export preset before sending them to Photomatix Pro. I don't want to do this on import, because I shoot a mix of single exposures and bracketed sets, and I use different pre-Photomatix settings depending on the type of image and the style I'm going for in the final result. Without the right-click option (which was already causing issues in 5.7), I now have to move my cursor over to my presets on the left side of the screen, apply the desired preset to the selected image, then move all the way across the screen to Sync the rest of the highlighted exposures, then go back to the right-click menu to export them to Photomatix. What a complete pain. The new HDR merge is nice for doing very natural HDRs of static subjects like architectural interiors, but it falls far short of the versatility and look of Photomatix Pro, and the deghosting is woefully inadequate compared to the robust options available in PP. And, frankly, the whole program runs a whole lot slower than 5.7 did. I'm feeling like my subscription was a huge waste of money.

DNG files exported from LR4 not showing changes made when opened in PSE10?

I have LR4, and once I make some develop changes I've been exporting the files I want to use as DNG. I then open them in PSE10 to make final edits. It's been working fine, actually I had an older version of Adobe Raw in my PSE on my other computer. So when I opened in PSE it would ask if I wanted to conver to compatible version to edit in camera raw. I always said no b/c I didn't need to do anymore raw edits. Now that I have installed PSE on my new computer, it has the new ACR version I guess. When I open the DNGs to edit now I no longer get this error message, but it's showing my contrast, etc. as a standard raw setting instead of the changes I made in LR. Some are showing....like vibrance, but "recovery" which I know is "highlights" in LR, and other things are not showing correctly. I know that the options are different, but I don't want to use the ACR settings that it's using when I open the file, or have to go through them again. I'm sure there's something I'm missing but can't figure it out. Thanks for any help!

The issue you raised in your original post, and the issue of choosing DNG versus NEF, are completely separate and independent.
The issue of transferring photos to PSE would cause the exact same problems in your case whether or not you use DNG or NEF.
On the issue of converting photos from NEF to DNG, there are advantages and disadvantages, some people do and some people don't. If you'd like to know more, I suggest you search this forum, there are plenty of discussions on this topic.

For some reason is all my music gone from iTunes, but I do still have the songs on my iPod Touch... So my problem is that I don't know how to import my files from iPod Touch back to iTunes.

Well, I did that and it seems like Windows Media Player couldn't open the files, but then I go back to iTunes and I see all my files are gone. Nothing is left, and now I can't syncronize files to my iPod Touch without deleting all the existing files. So now the only thing I want to know, if it's possible, is how to import music (not from Apple Store) from my iPod Touch to iTunes?

You can use one of the third-party programs discussed here to transfer non-iTunes purchased music to a computer.

TV not displaying DVD video from Macbook but showing slideshow instead

Connecting new MacbookPro to new LCD TV with newly purchased cables as follows: miniDVI to DVI converter connected to mini DVI port on Macbook and to DVI/HDMI cable which is connected into HDMI port on TV. Audio connected via standard one to two audio cable. When playing DVD on macbook the audio comes through on TV ok but the TV screen is showing a slideshow of photos from the macbook rather than the DVD video. Settings on TV are all as specified in TV manual - the issue is clearly what is being transmitted through the macbook's mini DVI port. Wierd thing is that no application appears to be running on macbook to play photos as a slideshow - there must be some background task or service running but, not being familiar with mac operating systems i don't know how to check for this. does anyone know what is going on? Are there some settings i need to tweak on the macbook?

Ipad was erased. Now apps won't reload from backup, but show in the app window. They do't sync even when drag and drop is used.

The iPad was lost but returned. In the interim, I sent an "erase" command to the iPad. When I got it back , all info was erased when turned on. I used my backup and restored it, but the applications will not install. I have tried clicking "install". I subsequently tried the drag and drop method. Each time I "apply" the changes, It will sync, but nothing happens as far as applications being installed.

Shared photo stream gone from iOS but still on laptop

I own a shared photo stream that was created on my iPhone. Sometime in the past few hours it disappeared from my phone, iPad and the other iPhone under my Apple ID. However it still shows on my laptop and is up to date. How can I get it back on my iOS devices?

If these photos are precious, it's worth considering purchasing a file recovery program. I accidently deleted a whole batch of emails and I bought online and used an application called FileSalvage (about £50) which recovers all types of files. You can select it to just look for image files and then just recover those.
If so, limit your use of your Mac as of now, as you will be writing data to your hard disk all the time when saving and potentially write over picture data that's sitting on your hard disk.
Although Mail's .emix file format is not a common file type, it did the job, so image files will be easy.

Vendor already released from block,but showing block while creating pr-help

my client is facing a problem in blocking of vendors.
my client actually blocked the vendor in XK05 t-code. after some days again he want the same vendor. so they release the block, that is they removed the tick mark for block (for purchase organization, company code) and again they take the vendor for the usage.when they are creating PR by using this vendor. it is giving error: stating that :VENDOR xxxxxx BLOCKED FOR PURCHASE ORGANIZATION xxxx.
so we have blocked the vendor and again released the block and take the vendor for usage.but again it is giving the same error when creating PR.
What is the solution for this ?
we have checked is there any blockage on financial side.we used the t-code FK04.
IN T-CODE FK04, it is showing new and old fields. in new field it is showing blocked state of vendor (denoted by symbol :-X )
kindly give your valuable solution for this.

In standard SAP it is not possible to block a vendor at plant level. However, I have extensively researched on vendor sub-range functionality and I could make it possible.
When you go to XK02 or MK02, maintain vendor subrange. When you select plant level data there, it allows you to maintain purchasing data at plant level. Using this, you can maintain purchasing data for the vendor at a plant level. When you are in this view at plant level, select the menu path, Extras-->Purchasing Block (you will never see this menu except in the subrange activated plant level view) it gives a pop-up on which there will be a check box to activate "Purchasing Block". If you select this, vendor is blocked at the plant level for that P Org. When you create a PO using this subrange (caution! it works only for that subrange) (subrange value can be entered at the Item details (material data tab) of the PO, system gives an error message" : Vendor 1046971 blocked for purch. org. 0150, vendor sub-range 1, and plant 0353

Choose a different vendor.
Its a very impressive solution; If you can somehow get the subrange defaulted (and not changeable) for this vendor in the PO whenever the POrg and Plant matches your details, it becomes a standard functionality. Perhaps, a little bit of ABAP would make it.

New Mac user moving photos from PC but lose tagging metadata

Need to import photos from windows live gallery with face tags into Iphoto. How can I do this? Just bought a Mac but when I transfer my photos in from my old computer all the metadata is lost. I can't retag 30k photos. Help! Looking to bring in face tags, geotags, comments, key word tags and photo titles. Am willing to buy a software program if I need to in order to not lose all this data.

Face recognition is unique to the application and not a universal tag. It can't be transferred to iPhoto.
The only metadata that can be transferred are the EXIF and IPTC (as long as it is written to the file by the application adding it) metadata . If Windows Live Gallery can't write those keyword, geo, and comment tags back to the file you won't be able to move them to iPhoto. There may be a PC app that can do that with Live Gallery but you'll have to ask Windows Support personnel.

Is Select All gone from everything but composing emails in iOS5?

It seems the Select All option has been removed when selecting text in Safari and emails I've received. Still there when composing an email, but gone everywhere else. Is it just me or are others experiencing this?
Using iOS5 on iPhone 4S, by the way.

After digging for weeks without a solution, I figured out the following trick:
In any app in iOS5, tap and hold in any paragraph break or other white space in the center of the page until it brings up the circular magnifying window, then drag your finger to either edge of the page. This will bring up the option to cut, copy, or select all.
I've posted this on a number of boards - some people don't have luck with this, but some do. It's been working for me. Hope it does for you.
Apple, if you're reading this...don't remove functionality. Add it. What were you thinking?

User presets and external plug-ins missing after V 2.6 upgrade

I just upgraded to V2.6 and noticed that all my user Presets for Develope and Print Modules have gone missing. It also happened to all the third party plug-ins software. While the software can be re installed, are the missing user presets gone forever? Isn't LR intelligent enough to leave the user presets alone during an upgrade? Doesn't LR back them up like the catalogue files are backed up? How can I prevent this from happening for any future release upgrade? All this is counter productive. Appreciate any suggestions.Thank you.

You are spot on, no wonder you are the Community Professional and a member for over four years. Some of my presets are in the Lightroom Preset folder and unchecking the Store Presets with Catalog checkbox revealed the presets and by copying the rest of the presets into the same folder all my presets are now visible and better than before. Gotta go now as it is back to business as usual with nothing missing. I simply love this program!
