User profile deleted

Hi,
I deleted a standard user profile this morning - one that I was allowing my student to use on my computer. My student has since informed me that he had a Word document in that profile that he needs.
I didn't archive this profile. Is there anyway I can get back the word document?
Cheers
Tim

Hi Tim,
Nope, for Security when an account is removed, immediately every thing is really gone.

  • Terminal Server User Profile - Delete Permissions

One frequent problem our help desk encounters is corrupted user profiles on the terminal servers.  Today those tickets are escalated to the server team to have the local user and roaming profiles deleted.  That team wishes to have this task moved
to the desktop / help desk.
I've built a script to perform this action, but desktop and help desk AD groups do not have sufficient rights on these servers to delete the user profiles.  NTFS permission changes will allow them the ability to delete the roaming profiles, but I don't
beleive this would be sufficient to delete the local profiles from the terminal servers (properly).
The script command I'm using to delete the local profiles is:
    takeown /f $LPath.FullName /r /d y
I attempted using a service account to run the command within the script but I couldn't find a secure way to nest the password.  Can someone point me to the correct permissions needed for a regular user to properly delete a remote user profile?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
What kind of permission is assigned to your help desk users?
Firstly please check that your help desk users can delete the profile via “System Properties--Advanced tab--User Profiles--Settings button”. By deleting user profiles will delete the corresponding registry entries in addition to the folder under C:\Users
Apart still if you want to check the registry setting, we can verify and delete under below mention path.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
Here need to find the respective SID for the users and the delete that SID and then again ask users to log back in which will create a new user profile.
Else your help desk user can get the permission for running below script through which they can delete the user profile.
    Remove RDS Profiles

  • Cisco Unified MeetingPlace 8.5 with WebEx - User Profile Deletion

    Hi all,
I'm running Cisco Unified MeetingPlace 8.5 with WebEx. In the WebEx administration page, I'm unable to delete any users and I'm only able to set them to be "Inactive". There's no function to delete them. Searching the web for answers only tells me that i'm unable to delete and only able to set it to be inactive. Has this changed with any recent releases / updates?

  • User profiles deleted with migration assistant

I just bought my daughter a new MacBook Air to replace her 3 year old MacBook Pro.  When she tried using Migration Assistant to transfer her files, it totally wiped out her user profiles so she couldn't log into the MacBoook Air any longer and she had to reset her MacBook Air completely.  After resetting her MacBook Air and starting from scratch, she tried using MA again, but this time none of the new files showed up anywhere.  What gives?  Why is this not working.  The two laptops are linked via a single ethernet cable.

  • How to stop user profiles clean-up job from deleting Active users.

    Hi,
Somehow bunch of active users profile are marked for deletions and their managers have received email saying it will be deleted in X days.
I know if we disable My Site Clean Up Job, it will not delete any profiles. But I want that job to continue running and stop active user profiles from getting deleted.
    How do I proceed here...
    Thanks,
    Abhilash

    Hi Abhilash,
I understand SharePoint 2010 MySite clean up timer job is deleting active user profiles.
Firstly, I need to confirm with you that the timer job will work on below two situations:
1.When you use the web UI in Central Administration to delete a user profile
2.When a user who was included in a previous user profile import is no longer included in the import.
The second point bears a little more explanation, please refer to How Is A User Profile Deleted?
    in the article below:

Let me know if you situation is not included in the above two.

  • Date modified of user profile can be considered as date the user last accessed the server?

    Hi,
I have a terminal server with large number of old profiles.what is the Microsoft way to clear these?
Is the last modified date of user profile can be considered as date the user last logged in to this server?
    Regards,
    Arun
    Best Regards, Arun http://whynotsql.blogspot.com/

    Hi Arun,
For deleting old profiles please test the following group policy setting using gpedit.msc:
    Computer Configuration\ Administrative Templates\ System\ User Profiles\
Delete user profiles older than a specified number of days on system restart     Enabled
Delete user profiles older than (days)     30
It is applicable to Windows Server 2008 and later.  You may need the following hotfix if you are running Server 2008 R2 (no SP1):

  • How To Properly Delete a User Profile on Windows 7 in a Domain environment

I have not been able to find an answer that matches the issue I'm facing. I had recently setup a laptop for a user and soon after, he was experiencing issues that I thought might be profile related. So, I did what always worked for me on prior versions of
Windows without any fuss or side affects.
Logged in under the local Administrator account, I went into: System Properties>User Profiles>Settings and removed the user profile from their. When I do that, I get an error message:
    Profile Error
Profile not deleted completely. Error - A required privilege is not held by the client
Ok, no problem I think. I just need to delete the user's profile directory under the users folder right? So I do this and figure when I try to log in again as the user that a new profile will be created. However, this is not what happens exactly. I login
with the user credentials and it logs in successfully. However, I get a pop saying:
You have been logged on with a temporary profile
You cannot access your files and files created in this profile will be deleted when you log off. To fix this, log off and try logging on later.
Please see the event log for details or contact your system administrator
So my question is; why did the profile not delete completely after both deleting the user profile under System Properties and after deleting the actual profile directory? What did I miss and what is the proper method of deleting a user profile completely
without running into these other issues?

    Hi Womprat,
According to your description, I understand that you want to delete user profile but display an error in Windows 7.
Please use other user (with administrator privileges) login this computer, then open Properties for Computer--->Advanced system setting--->Settings for User Profiles, then select the profile you want to delete.

  • How do I tell if a user profile is marked for deletion?

This is likely a question with a simple answer, but searching through Google and here hasn't helped.
How do I tell if a user profile has been marked for deletion?
Will it appear in the "Manager User Profiles" area of the User Profile Service Application management?
Do I need to look somewhere else?
This is probably obvious, and I just have looking disease, but your assistance is most appreciated!

As Paul said you can see that on UP admin page. also you can use powershell to get the list of all use in powershell.

  • Unable to delete renamed User Profile

    Greetings!
I have been enjoying the nuances of Windows 8.1... right.  Anyway, I have Win8.1 64bit on this excellent HP SLimline PC.  Now I need some help with the OS.  I'm an avid Windows 7 user and like it very much. Of my four PCs this is the only one with 8.1 and and I'm having some learning curve experinces, of which this is one.
So, I've had this computer since July 2014 and am not having issues other than with account administration.  The problem is that the main administrative account (yes, I use two accounts, one for daily work and an admin account to manage the computer - life is more secure that way).
The admin account user name needed to be changed, so I did that.  One would think that changing the account name would automatically do that across the board in the filiing system.  In this case, not so.  Win8.1 created a new profile.
I'm not saying that the profile name didn't change for login purposes, it did and that looks fine.  However, in looking at the Users listed in File Explorer and also on the network, the old user profile still exists with all the rights and privileges of a normal administrator's profile.
I'm thinking this is not good for a couple of reasons; it causes confusion on the network. It also creates an un accessable set of files becuase there is no way to log in to clean it out.  And it may pose a security problem.
Also, note this has not degraded the function of the computer, yet it does show up sometimes in unpredictable circumstances.
What have I done to mitigate this issue?   Initally took a chance on system restore. I don't have a restore point going back far enough in time to correct this.  Next, I tried the old fashioned "highlight and delete" some of the content. Not such a good idea and the system won't let me anyway.  I am sure it needs to be done by the OS.  I'm not sure I want to edit the registry, just yet, but that may be my only choice.
So, I'm at a stand still for resolution. Not wanting to rebuild the computer, I need some way to scrub the user profiles and remove the one that is supposed to be deleted.
As always, thanks to anyone who can suggest a positive way to correct this issue. It's probably really easy ... maybe
    This question was solved.

    Hi,
Welcome to HP support forums. I don't know why people hate Windows 8.1 (not 8), I love it and upgraded 80% of my laptops at home to Windows 8.1. My tablet uses Windows 8.1, my phone uses Windows 8.1 too. I only keep 2 machines run Windows 7 for support purpose.
Windows 7 also keeps old account(s), it creates new account profile when we create new user. Now back to your question, hope the following article helps.
       http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2127747/delete-administrator-account-created-windows-windows-inst...
(Basically change old account to normal user account (not Admin) and you can delete it).

  • To find out the list of user profiles marked for deletion using powershell or C# for SharePoint 2010

I have Disabled the MysiteCleanup timer Job and disabled few user profile accounts in AD.  Then in SharePoint user profile service, ran the User profile full synchronise job.
I am able to find the marked for deletion records from the table (UserProfile_Full) in SQL server and also in the Manage User profile menu of the central admin under "Profile missing from import"
view.  But  am not getting these records, If I execute the  below powershell command.
$upa = Get-spserviceapplication -name 'User Profile Service Application'
    Set-SPProfileServiceApplication $upa -GetNonImportedObjects $true
This command shows only the system account and not the accounts, which are marked for deletion .
Please suggest how to get this result.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • User Profile Pictures not deleting / replacing

    Hello,
I have been struggling with this issue for a couple of weeks and think I may need some help.  I have a user profile sync application which works fine, it syncs several attributes from AD into SharePoint, it also exports user profile pictures back to
AD for Exchange and Lync to use, this all works fine.
I was asked to replace a picture for a user, which I did using the 'Manage User Profiles' page in Central Admin.  I didn't realise there was an issue until I was asked again a week later, it seems the update had not worked.  I tried again, and
lo and behold the picture managed to revert back to the old one again.
After a lot of messing around deleting the picture, syncing, adding the new picture, syncing again etc I could not get the new picture to stay, the old one kept coming back. I do not think the issue is related to the sync, but more with SharePoint itself,
here is a symptom I believe is related:-
I delete a user's picture from 'Manage User Profiles', the picture is gone and the user's mysite page shows the placeholder pic.
Looking in the mysites site collection in User%20Photos/Forms/AllItems.aspx the 3 pictures for the user have disappeared.  However if I browse to the url of the picture - User%20Photos/Profile%20Pictures/*username*_SThumb.jpg (or mthumb or lthumb) the
    picture appears in my browser.
Next if I add a new picture for the same user through central admin, I then see the new picture in their mysite, I can also see 3 thumbnails of the user's photo under the mysites site collection in User%20Photos/Forms/AllItems.aspx
So far so good, however, if I browse to the url of the picture (including the filename as above) then I am shown the old picture :S
So it appears that the pictures in User%20Photos/Profile%20Pictures/_w and User%20Photos/Profile%20Pictures/_t are updating with the new picture, but the pictures in User%20Photos/Profile%20Pictures/ do not get updated, or even deleted properly when they
    are removed.
Hope somebody can shed some light on this as it's really annoying me now! Thanks :)

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that the replacing picture not work properly in MySite.
I tried to reproduce the issue in my environment(SharePoint server 2013+SP1), it works without any issue.
Did the issue occur for all the users?
To narrow down whether the issue is related to the User Profile service, you can use other accounts to check whether it works.
If that is the case, you can recreate the user profile service application to check whether it works.
If your environment does not install any updates, you can install SP1 or latest update to check whether it works.
You can also check the event log and ULS log to see if anything unexpected occurred.
To check event log, click the Start button and type “Event Viewer” in the Search box.
For SharePoint 2013, by default, ULS log is at
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS

  • Approval work folw while Deleting the user from user profile

    Hi
    I have a requirement like
I configured AD as auto provisioned.
How to configure approval workflow, when administrator deleting the user from user profile (xellerate form).
FYI, Delete task assigned as undo task for the create user task
    Thanks
    Edited by: user11963802 on Dec 15, 2010 2:31 AM

Create one approval workflow and create one Process Determination Rule like
    If
    Request Action == "Revoke"
    Attach this rule with RO.
    Hey sorry
I shared the information for Revoking user from target Application.
Hide Delete User button from JSP
You can create Dummy Resource with Approval workflow for Deleting User. And after getting approval you can use DeleteUser API to delete user from OIM.

  • User Profile getting deleted

What happens when a user profile gets deleted? Does it prevent that user from accessing the sharepoint site or any site he has access to?
One of our users have been moved from one OU to the other and manager got an email about his mysite getting deleted within 14days. I don't care if his mysite gets deleted until he has access to the main site.

No, User Profiles do not impact permissions.
